“What’s up?” he asked.

“The Skulls aren’t picking up members in our area, so I don’t think they plan to maintain a presence here. I think they plan to either work out an agreement with someone already established to increase their reach or they plan on doing something here and then leaving.” Dominic handed Reece some reports.

Reece quickly read over the information Turk had managed to pull concerning the gang’s numbers. It looked like they were steady through the last two months. No sudden increase or spiking. He also noticed that they did have more of their people hanging around the Fort Worth and San Antonio areas. It wasn’t a huge number and wouldn’t have alerted anyone if they hadn’t been looking, but it was enough to warrant making some calls to their brother Ghosts Riders.

Reece looked up at Dominic. “Have you alerted anyone yet?”

“Yeah. Everyone’s keeping a close eye on things and will let us know when they move.”

He took a pull on the beer before going back through the reports again. Nothing more seemed important. Reece slid them across the bar to Turk.

“What do you think they want?” Turk asked.

“I’m not sure. I didn’t think Satan’s Sons were doing a huge business in meth or weed. If they are, it doesn’t show. I can’t imagine Tussler hiding his wealth very well. He blows money now as it is.” Reece tried to figure out what could be the draw for The Skulls in the area.

“Lot of hiding places out here if they plan on stashing their merchandise.” Irish leaned against the bar.

“Most of their product comes from Mississippi, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Why ship it all the way here just to hide?” Dominic shook his head. “No. There’s something else.”

“Hell, we might never know what it is. They may come in and take care of business with Satan’s Sons and leave us alone,” Turk pointed out. “Nothing says they’ll give a shit about us. Every damn one but the town’s good citizens knows we’re legit.”

“I tend to agree with you, but we can’t take a chance and not prepare.” Dominic ran a hand through his hair.

“I’ll keep digging. Maybe there’s been a sharp decrease in sales somewhere they control. That would tell us that they are holding back on product for some reason.”

“Make sure you check legal to see if there were any big scores before we jump to conclusions.” Reece agreed with Dominic. They weren’t planning on using their territory for stashing their product.

Reece followed Dominic into the sanctuary and closed the door. Something was eating at Dom. He rarely looked antsy no matter what was going on. He didn’t think it had anything to do with Satan’s Sons or The Skulls.

“How are Vernon and Rhodes doing?” he asked.

Dominic shook his head. “They’re holding tight right now. As long as she manages to call and talk to them on a regular basis, I think we’ll be able to keep them steady.”

“You know the first sign of violence against Satan’s Sons and they are going to go get her.” Reece would go get Raven if she were in Jessie’s shoes.

That thought sobered him. He set down his beer and stared at it. Yeah, she meant something to him. He had already admitted that to himself and her, but what exactly was it she represented to him?

Dominic’s voice interrupted his thoughts. “That’s another reason we’re keeping a constant presence in town. We need to know about it before they do so we can at least organize the damn thing. All we need is for Rhodes and Vernon to go bust up in the Satan’s Sons’ nest and get killed.”

“Think that if it comes to it Satan’s Sons will cut their losses to concentrate on The Skulls?”
