Aviana’s breath came out in a ragged moan as she felt full.

“You’re so thick.”

“Thank you, Baby. Glad you approve.”

She grunted. “You haven’t earned my approval yet.”

“I better get started then.”

He withdrew and slowly entered again, each time increasing the depth he explored until he was seated in her with his balls tucked against her rear.

She was panting from the invasion as he held his body still.

“You can move,” she said, trying to catch her breath and adjust to the feel of him deep inside.

“Not yet.” He gave her small kisses as he lie against her holding his weight up on his free arm.

As her breathing slowed and she began to roll her hips under his, he pulled out and sank back in causing her breath to catch in pleasure. He did it again until she started to say his name.

“More,” she cried out.

He withdrew all the way and sank deep into her watching as her eyes flared. Once again he did it, controlling himself even as he shuttered with the need to let go.

“Give me all of you, Rylan. You’re holding back.”

He nodded his head as he lost control of his needs. He pulled out and plunged into her. Diving so deep, she cried out in pleasure as her body tighten around him.

“Never felt anything like this,” came from her mouth in broken words as he dove into her again.

Her body shook from each pounding thrust until finally an orgasm swept over her, taking her body and throwing it against an erotic shore she never knew existed. She screamed his name as she felt his hot seed rolling into her. His mind opened and she could feel the searing pleasure he felt with the release. He caught her, keeping her safe. He cherished her.

Closing her eyes, she drifted away on that beautiful sea.

Chapter Seventeen

Aviana opened her eyes to find Rylan looking down at her with love. What had she done to deserve him?

“Hi,” she murmured before she reached over to kiss him.

“Hi, yourself.” He pulled her to him deepening the kiss.

Her hands went over his chest exploring the peaks and valleys.

“I love your chest.”

“Mmm.” His hands went to her rear, kneading the globes before he pinched one. “I love your body, too.”

He kissed down her neck taking his time to worship at her breast, loving how they spilled over in his hands.

“Your nipples are so bronzed and they remind me of a piece of candy, so sweet and addictive. I love the way your areolas are so dark around your nipples.”

He sucked one in causing her to arch her back.

“I want to taste.”

“You’re tasting now.” Her voice came out in a strained whisper.

“No. I want to taste.” He lowered his body between her legs.

“What are you doing?” She clutched at his hair.

His tongue licked the lips of her pussy causing her to buck and cry out.

“You shouldn’t do that.”

“Why? You taste good.” He took another lick going a little deeper.

He should stop, her mind said, even as she arched into his lips again. He cared for her? He had to, right? People didn’t just do this. Did they?

Clutching his hair tighter, she rode his tongue as it continued to lick against her.

A half scream came from her lips as he sucked on her clit. It didn’t matter what other people did. It only mattered what her bonded was doing to her and he cared for her, loved her. She could see the adoration in his mind.

He wanted to take care of her forever, pleasure her even as he feared hurting her. That would never happen; he treated her like she was a precious gem that had to be taken care off. She felt important when he touched her, like she really was worth the effort.

Her head lulled to the side as thoughts became harder to track. All she could feel was his tongue invading her, curling around her cervix, touching sensitive areas that had never been touched. She cried out as he explored her body which grew tighter and tighter. She was going to shatter if he kept this up. She thrust her hips up begging for release, begging for more.

His fingers replaced his tongue as they dove deep, he sucked her clit into his mouth. The scream she tried to hold back came out in full force as her body came apart under him.

He continued to plunge deep until her body stopped shaking.

“You’re amazing,” she whispered meeting him halfway as he got up. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him tasting her unique flavor on his lips.

He gently pulled away to stand before picking her up. “If we don’t make an appearance soon, Gabe will be knocking on the door to check on me. He needs to see me well to be assured.”

A frown came to his face before he chased it away with a smile.

“What about you?”

“I’ll be ok.”

“Or we could do a quickie in the shower.”

“I knew there were all types of reasons I love you.”

“You love me?”

“I love you Aviana Marks.”

She threw herself into his arms and held him tight a happy smile on her lips and happy tears in her eyes.

*~*~*~*

Gabe was sitting in the dining room when they came in. A look of concern was on his face until he laid eyes on Rylan, with a grunt he got up.

“Where are you going?” Aviana asked him softly.

“I don’t want to interfere with your brunch.” He gave her a teasing smile.

“Stay, I would love to spend some time with you and so would your brother.”

Gabe looked up at Rylan who averted his eyes before he nodded and followed them into the kitchen. Aviana took a seat at the table as Rylan turned on the burners and Gabe went to the refrigerator. She watched in silence as the two of them prepared a meal and spread it out on the table before her. They were quiet as they ate, but she knew they were talking even though she couldn’t hear them.

Rylan cleared his throat. “I have something I have to ask you and I need Aviana to hear.” Gabe canted his head to look at his brother.

Aviana stared again, amazed at how much they looked alike.

“Baby, this is about Mckayla. Gabe, as you now know Mckayla is my daughter which means she’s your niece.”

Gabe looked at him placing his elbow on the table and his chin on his fist.

Rylan stared at him.

“What exactly are you saying to me, Ry? That I should throw her up in the air? Check. Maybe I should watch over her and make sure she’s ok? Check. How about treating her like she’s the niece that has me wrapped around her baby finger? Check. Have I missed anything?”

“Be a smart-assed brother?”

“Check.”

Aviana burst out laughing unable to hold it in any longer.

“Gabe, I think you’re saying you accepted that Mckayla was your niece long before Rylan accepted we were his family.”

He gave her a big grin. “Check.”

Rylan mumbled something under his breath before he gave Gabe a grunt and the finger.

Gabe gathered the plates and took them to the sink. “What will the two of you do now?”

Rylan went to help. “I’m not sure. As long as Zuhun is alive he’s a threat, but to go after him if we aren’t on his radar is insane.”

“I agree; no sense bringing Aviana and Mckayla to his attention.”

Rylan nodded. “I can’t help but wonder if it’s too late.”

“When are the two of you going to get Mckayla?” Gabe asked, putting up the last dish.

Rylan turned to see the hopeful look on Aviana’s face and sighed.

“I was hoping to leave her with Aran and Rena for a couple more days until we know whether it’s safe to bring her back or not.”

Aviana’s eyes dulled for a moment before the spark came back. She shook her head and then gave him a trembling smile.

“I miss her, but her safety is paramount. We will leave her there until we know she will be ok. We have to do something nice to thank them for watching Mckayla.”

“We will.”

“I will see you later.” Gabe threw them a smile before leaving the kitchen.

“Would you like to go for a walk?” Rylan asked her.

A walk would be nice; a soak in that tub would be nicer. She threw him a smile and stood reaching out to him.

“I would like that.”

They left the kitchen going upstairs to change clothes and retrieve their winter gear.

He met her at the front door. “How did I know I would get here first?”

“Because you ran. I think you just wanted to say ‘I told you so’ even though you didn’t tell me anything!”

“I told you so,” he teased her as they walked out the door.

“I knew it, you’re one of those.”

“Those?”

“The kind that expects me to read your mind.” A soft bubble of laughter touched his mind.

“Well yeah. You should know my every move from now on.” He stuck his tongue out at her mentally and her laughter turned deep and rich.

“I like this.” She made a snowball and threw it at him.

“Hey, none of that.” He threw one back and ducked behind a tree.

They played around like children running into the trees until they could no longer see the bed and breakfast.

“Rylan?” Aviana lost sight of him.

“I’m here. Come to the right.”

She turned feeling an invisible connection with him leading her. He was standing in a beautiful gazebo looking out at the snow. Spring was fast approaching and the snow layered the ground by several inches instead of several feet.

“Come, have a seat.”

Walking up to him she sat on the bench thankful for the additional layers she put on before leaving the house.

He sat next to her and pulled her in his arms.

“It’s beautiful out here, so quiet and peaceful.” She snuggled into him allowing his smell to infiltrate her.

This was perfect or would be if Mckayla was here. She missed her laughter and the way her eyes shined.

“I know you miss her.” Rylan ran his gloved hand over her back. “I miss her too. Although I am enjoying this time with you.”

Aviana blushed thinking of their time spent together. She leaned up and kissed him. She never kissed outside or in the snow before. The pounding of her heart picked up as Rylan kissed her back, making her lips tingle.

He leaned over whispering in her mind. “When we get back to the room, I am going to slowly undress you so I can worship every inch of your body before I sink into your hot welcoming wetness.”

She shook at the thought, heat rising to her face. “Maybe we should start back now.

He brought his hand up to her cheek, stopping as he heard the snap of a branch in the woods.

She turned, having heard it, too. A male stepped out looking at Rylan before turning to look at her. She shivered having seen him in the mate trial.

“Rylan, wasn’t he in…?”

The squeeze of his hand confirmed what she knew but what was he doing here?

“No one takes what is ours and gets away with it. We’re coming for you.” He pointed at Aviana and melted back into the woods.

She turned to look at Rylan. He led her off the gazebo. “It’s time to go. We’ll talk when we get home.”

Chapter Eighteen

Home. Just the room in the bed and breakfast, but it felt more like a home than anyplace she lived at for the last couple of years. They went back to her room and were now sitting on the couch, silence stretching long and thin between them.

“Aviana, I need you to tell me about Mckayla’s father.”

She nodded her head before jumping to her feet. What could she tell him that he hadn’t figured out for himself? Maybe she should tell him that she was stupid or that for reasons she didn’t understand she had trusted him until he…no, she shouldn’t tell him anything.

Her shoulders slumped. She would tell him everything.

“I was attending community campus. It was my father’s way of punishing me. I was number two in my graduating class and that was unacceptable to my Dad. The reason didn’t matter, all that mattered was beating out everyone else for that coveted number one spot. Did you know the fame of being the best is quickly overshadowed by someone who comes along and usurps your throne or it’s simply and quickly forgotten?”

She turned to face him, a sad smile on her lips. “I got a scholarship but it still wasn’t enough to cover the cost of tuition, room and board etc.… I thought I needed my parents, so I toed the line and went to community college. Did my time as a dutiful daughter and waited. Here’s what I didn’t know. Life doesn’t wait; it moves whether we like it or not.”

No tears, pride touched her for a minute. She wasn’t breaking down, that had happened in the beginning before she realized she would have to not only be strong for herself but for the child she carried.

“I think you should know I don’t regret Mckayla. She is one of the best things that ever happened to me and I wouldn’t give her up. I won’t give her up. That night, I was walking home from school. Sometimes I got picked up by my mom, but she had something else going on so I walked. I never thought anything about it. I was so naïve back then.”

Her head had been firmly in the clouds with her dreams of ruling the world or at least a small section of it. She worked so hard to redeem herself in her father’s eyes and she was sure she could do it. All she needed was time, the one thing that was taken from her. She was crushed when she realized she would never leave her hometown. The years, the dreams all for nothing.

“My head was filled with homework and projects, so I never noticed that the street was empty until he approached. My first thought upon seeing him was that he was attractive. The thought was so foreign to me I almost tripped. I spent too much time with my head in books to look at men.

“He apologized, can you believe that? Said he was sorry but he still…I’d tell you everything was ok but years later it still can ambush me if I’m not careful. Here’s the thing that I never understood. Somehow he seemed to know I would have a daughter. Just freaky luck but it still bothers me. Why did you need to know?”

Rylan stood and moved towards her stopping in front of her. She could feel her throat moving as she fought to swallow the bile that had risen. The tears she was sure were long gone threatened to spill over. He opened his arms and she shot in. Seeking the one thing she never found after her experience—comfort.
