“Mr. and Mrs. Stewart, I’m Robert Carlton, manager of the Jade Mountain Resort. Are you and your wife enjoying your stay?” he inquired.
Linden shook his hand. “Yes, we are, sir. This is our second stay in the Star Infinity Pool suite, by the way. We were here in May. My wife and I wouldn’t spend our honeymoon
anywhere
else,” Linden declared.
“It’s nice to know that you chose to return to our resort. We’re proud of our little piece of heaven, here at the Jade Mountain Resort. I just wanted to let you know the Stewarts have broken the record for the number of days a couple has stayed confined within their suite. The record was five days. I’d like to present you with a plaque, and a thirty percent discount off of your next visit to our resort. With your permission of course, the resort’s photographer would like to take your photo, and we’d like to display it in our lobby—along with our other guests. You’ll have to sign a release, and we could set up a time and place at your convenience,” he said in a mouthful mesmerized by Mrs. Stewart’s beautiful eyes.
“Sweetheart, we’ve broken the record,” Linden repeated. His violet eyes shimmered as he gazed down at his gorgeous wife.
Shay was unaware of the captivating picture she made in a simple tangerine sundress. It fit snugly, and the color illuminated her already glowing caramel-colored skin. Impending motherhood certainly agreed with her, along with Linden’s tender loving care.
He grabbed Shay’s left hand and kissed her wedding ring. “I promised my sweetheart, we’d go dancing tonight; otherwise, we’d still be inside of our suite. Whatever she wants, I’m going to give my mama-to-be. It’s debatable if we conceived this bundle of joy right here in your resort or under the Piton waterfall,” he stated with pride, as his hands circled her extended waistline.
“This is a beautiful resort, Mr. Carlton. I fell in love with my husband here, and we’d be delighted to take that photo. We intend to come back for our second anniversary, and maybe we’d break our own record!” She winked at Linden.
Shay, lovingly stared into her husband’s shimmering violet eyes. She was happier than she’d ever been, and looked forward to a lifetime of happiness with Linden and their child.
