Chapter
Six

Micah hated airports. He hated flying—especially by
himself—and he hated being gone from his company for so long. He collected his
luggage from the baggage claim area and left to find his car in the paid
parking section. He really wanted a shower, a real shower—not the kind he’d
settled for this past week.

He slammed his trunk closed and climbed in behind the
wheel. His home was nestled on the opposite side of the city, nearly out of the
city, to be exact. He’d planned it that way to keep away from the hustle and
bustle of Denver, but it made it extremely difficult when he didn’t feel like
driving the extra thirty minutes to get home.

He groaned when he thought about it. The temptation to
call Kristin ebbed at him. She was pissed off yet again, for some senseless reason,
he was sure. She never let her hair down. Never allowed someone else to take
control for a little while. He sighed. Why was she that way? What had happened
to her? Something not so good, he was sure. Maybe she didn’t trust him enough
to share the details. There were definitely parts of his life where he felt the
same way.

His phone rang and he paused to reach for it. He smiled
at the read-out. “Hey, Mom.”

“You finally answered. What have you been doing?
Screening my calls?”

He chuckled. “No. I’ve been in Tokyo for the week.”

“Well, you’re still planning to come to Texas for your
father’s birthday, aren’t you? He’s really looking forward to it.”

Micah rubbed his forehead. “I’d forgotten all about
that, honestly, Mom. I’ll check my schedule when I get to the office.”

“Micah, he misses you. Please make an effort to come
if you can.”

“I will.” He glanced at the clock. He didn’t have
enough time to go home, shower and change. He needed to get to the office and clean
up all the messes that had been created while he’d been gone.

He hung up and re-routed his car toward the office. It
wasn’t that he hated going back home to Texas. He enjoyed seeing his parents
and spending time with them. But his family’s consistent need for money—his
money—drove him crazy from time to time.

He reached the office in no time and parked in his
usual spot. After climbing out, he headed to the front door.

“Good Afternoon, Mr. Bosk,” Beth, the front desk
receptionist greeted him. “Here are your messages.”

“Thanks.” He took the little slips of paper from her.
“No phone calls, please.”

“Yes, sir.”

He went to the elevator and punched the “up” button.
So far, nothing appeared to be out of order. Everyone seemed to be doing their
job and no one had burned the building down. The elevator doors opened and he
entered the quiet floor. His office was at the very end of the hallway,
overlooking the city. He stared at the door, finding it ajar.

He pushed it the rest of the way open and stared at
the culprit nestled behind his desk like she belonged there. Damn it, if she
didn’t look good.

“I see you’ve made yourself at home in my office.”

She jumped in surprise. He walked in and shut the
door, locking it as well. She pursed her lips. “I like your chair better. I
considered stealing it but that little speech you gave me about being
responsible and whatnot kept me from doing so. I could have probably blamed it
on a natural disaster or something, I guess. Tornado came through and somehow blew
your chair into my office.”

He laughed. He’d missed her humor. Micah pulled his
suit coat off and tossed it in a nearby empty chair. “I can get you a new
chair. How is the audit going?”

“I’ve gone over it twice. There’s nothing here that
suggests foul play but there is definitely something off about the numbers.
They’re off-the-wall figures. I can’t figure out what it is, exactly.”

“You’ll figure it out.” He walked around the desk and
pulled the chair back.

She glanced up at him. “What are you doing?”

“Moving you.” He lifted her out of his seat and pushed
her tight pencil skirt up her thighs, enough to part them and make room for his
body. Then he kissed her.

She felt so good against him. Whereas he initially
surprised her, she gave in and kissed him back. He tugged her shirt from her
skirt.

“Whoa. Wait a minute.” She pulled back and pushed at
his hands. “I wasn’t kidding when I said we had a lot to talk about.”

“We can talk after you get naked.”

“No.”

The firmness of her voice made him stop and look up.
“Fine. I’ll give you sixty seconds. Go.”

“What is room three at The Black Rose?”

He sat in his office chair and stared at the crotch of
her purple panties. “It’s the most hardcore room we offer.”

“Rumor has it, you take all your women there.” He met
her eyes. “Except me.”

“Do you want me to take you there?”

“No. Um, that’s not my point.”

He brushed his fingers along her creamy thighs. “What
is your point?”

“I don’t know anything about the person I’m sleeping—slept—with.”

He sighed and rubbed a hand over his face. She was
right. He knew all about her but she knew nothing about him. “What do you want
to know about? My life at the club or my life in general?”

“Do you sleep with more than one woman a night at the
club?”

He tilted his head to the side. Where was this coming
from? “Not usually.”

“But you have?”

“Yes.”

He met her eyes. She knew absolutely nothing about the
club or the lifestyle. How had she suddenly found out about room three and him
sleeping with women at the club?

“Please tell me you didn’t sleep with some sleazy
bimbo the night you came to my house.”

He stared at her. “Where is this coming from?”

“That doesn’t answer my question.”

He sighed. “You didn’t ask a question and no, I didn’t
sleep with a sleazy bimbo the night I fucked you.”

He saw her relief.

“What are we doing here? I don’t like the idea of
someone I’m intimate with banging any random chick who walks by his dick. But I
don’t know you well enough to demand sexual monogamy.”

“I should have demanded you to come to Japan with me.”
Micah stood and planted a kiss on her lips. “We could have been fucking night
and day in place of you dreaming up tales in your mind.”

“It’s a legitimate concern. Perhaps if you thought
more about it instead of insisting sex solves everything, then we’d have some
answers.”

He propped his hands on his hips, annoyed with her
tone. “What do you want me to say? I’ll be sexually exclusive with you? Fine. I
will, if you’ll be sexually submissive to me.”

“I don’t know what that entails. You don’t open up to
me because you’re always thinking about how to get my panties around my ankles
and your cock buried inside me.”

His cock twitched. Damn, it had been a week. A fucking
long week. The idea of her lying before him with her hands and legs bound, her
pussy bare and exposed for anything he wanted to do… He hooked his hands at the
backs of her knees and pulled her toward the end of the desk.

“Tuck your shirt in.”

She frowned. “Why?”

“You’re about to get a crash course of what I like … sexually.”

The room was lit with florescent lighting that
reminded her of something in a doctor’s office. She glanced around, taking note
of the gray walls, the metal cabinet, and the vast array of props—as he called
them—hanging on the far wall. A bed sat in the center of the room, looking
anything but comfortable. Rings were placed at various localities and she
didn’t even want to think about what they were used for.
So this is room three.

“I would normally demand you take your clothes off
immediately after entering the room.” He closed the large metal door. “But I
take it you’re not wanting to consent to a scene right now.”

“You would be right.” She stood frozen in place,
taking it all in. “Jamie said that she hadn’t had this kind of fun in a while.
What do you do?”

He paused and she hoped the mention of Jamie’s name
didn’t get her friend in any trouble. He stepped away from the door, not
seeming to care. “Each time is different. Some like the hardcore, some simply
want to be dominated. What I would do with you, starting off, is tie you to the
bed, blindfold you, and play with your senses until you stopped thinking and focused
on what I was doing to your body.”

“And the electric wand thingy?”

His head jerked to the side, his eyes questioning.
“How do you know about that?”

“Jamie. She said it makes orgasms more intense.”

He rubbed his chin. “It does.”

“What does it do?” She finally worked up enough
courage to move from her spot. “You know, to make them more intense.”

He stared at her for a long moment without speaking.
Sex to her had never been so complicated. Rick had expected her to fuck him at
least twice a week when they’d lived together and it became more routine than
anything. Tuesdays and Fridays were sex days. Mostly in their bed and it
usually only took a few minutes of her time. He wasn’t a lousy lover if her
mood was right. He could make her come, sometimes, but everything in the past
seemed so bland when she compared it to the night she’d spent with Micah.

Micah walked to the metal cabinet and removed a gadget
from inside. After coming back to her, he turned it on and reached for her
hand. The shock jolted her.

“You shock people?” The tingle in her hand made her
blood run hot. Confused by her reaction, she frowned. “Why do people consent to
this?”

He turned the wand off and sighed. “Why do people have
sex at all? Why not just stay celibate for eternity?”

“Don’t get mad at me for not understanding.”

“I’m not mad. But you can’t understand fully unless
you experience it. Your ex-husband never tied you to the bed? Handcuffed you?”

She shook her head.

“You’ve never had food sex? Played with toys? Nothing
like that?”

She laughed. “Sex with Rick was scheduled. Little
variation and a lot of expectation. It didn’t matter what I was doing at the
moment. Tuesdays and Fridays at eight o’clock I had to be in bed, legs open,
waiting for him to get off. Don’t get me wrong. I got off too, but those times
were few and far between.”

“Then let me show you what this is about.” He set the
wand on the bed. “I know what you need and I’ll give it to you.”

“You can’t possibly know what I need.”

“Try me. One time. I promise if you do not like it,
we’ll never speak of it again.”

“It’s not that easy. You like it.”

“Of course I like it.” Micah crossed his arms. “You’ll
like it, too.”

He sounded so sure of himself that she couldn’t help
but wonder. Jamie talked like it was the best sex she’d ever had.

“What are the rules?”

He smiled. “Still didn’t read the sign, did you?”

She rolled her eyes. “If I’d read them, I’d probably
never agree to this.”

He came to her. “All you have to do is what I say. No
talking. No questioning. No arguing. You’re leaving your pleasure in my hands.”

She took a deep breath. “And afterward?”

“Afterward, you come home with me and spend the night
in my bed.”

“I hope your bed is more comfortable than that one
looks.” She shook her head. “It’s all too much, Micah. I don’t know what to
think.”

Micah stepped toward her. “Rule one: stop thinking.”

“You know that’s not that easy for me. I think and talk
things through.” She glanced around. “When I get scared, I talk more. This
scares me a little bit and you said I couldn’t talk.” She pursed her lips. “I
don’t think this is for me.”

He tilted his head to the side. “What scares you?”

“Everything.” Her heart beat erratically with her increasing
fear. “I don’t like the idea of being tied down. I don’t like the idea of being
hit. I don’t like the idea of that wand thingy.”

Micah propped his hands on his hips. “I’m not going to
hit you.”

She barely heard him as she stared at the equipment on
the far wall. “I don’t understand being turned on by this. I don’t … I don’t
get it.”

“You’re turned on?”

Her mouth opened and she clamped it shut. Had she
really just admitted that to him?

Micah moved closer until he’d backed her up against
the wall. “I think you’re scared of liking this because you logically think it
is wrong.”

She struggled for breath. “I don’t want this. Please,
can we go?”

“Not yet.” Micah brushed his finger along her smooth
cheek. “Close your eyes.”

Her eyes drifted closed. “I don’t under—”

He pressed his finger to her lips. “Stop talking. No
more.”
