I
shuffled into position then peered up at him through the smudge of tears. Then it struck me, he wasn’t calling me
meisie
anymore. I felt the pang of loss, and how twisted was that?

Though it pained me, I said
it. “Sir, may I ask a question?”

A pause, then he nodded. “Yes.”

God. Why had I wanted to say this? I shut my eyes for a second.
Do it.

“Sir, why aren’t you calling me
meisie
?”

“Because you haven’t earned it. When I call you that again, you’ll know you’ve earned it and that I’m happy with you.
Also, you are never to call me Pieter again. Sir will do.” He caught my chin. “Understand?”

Fuck this. My perception of him, me, the world, seemed to stutter. Never
, ever to call him Pieter again? It was as if the color orange had been outlawed. That he dared to...no, that he could do this. It rattled me as much as, or more than, any of the humiliating things he’d already done. It was a nail in the coffin of my old life.

“Why do you look so stunned? Hmm?”

He’d seen that?
Crap.

“I...
” I swallowed.

Say it. Or do I need to spank you?”

Wetness, instant wetness. I wanted to squirm on the spot. The threat of span
king had caused that. What had he done to me?

His eyes narrowed.

“I don’t know why exactly, but it bothers me. I like calling you Pieter. Please?”

“No. I asked if you understood.”

Oh. He had.
“Yes, Sir. I do.”

Fantastic.” He patted my head then kept caressing me while studying me as if to see how it affected me.

I tried to shut down my reaction.
I was ashamed, turned on, and absolutely confused. To my consternation, I felt a building ache in my pussy. After a while, I gave in and shut my eyes again. As his hand ran over me, I lowered my head, relishing the sensations and drifting into his touch.

I wanted this Sir,
so much, but not the one who punished. I wanted to be free but I also wanted to be with him. I’d been willing to kill him. So stupid. If I’d succeeded, would I have been able to move even? I could see myself standing over his body forever, like some pet that had lost its master, fading away to nothing.

“I’ll be good, Sir,” I whispered.

“Mmm. That’s what I need to hear. Come here, little bitch.”

Then he
dragged me back onto the bed, shifted my legs apart, and entered me, ever so slowly, with his eyes on mine.

It was a quiet fuck, more like making love than his normal, but it reaffirmed who was who in this relationship. I didn’t get to come but that familiar feeling of being used because I was his and available
, and maybe even loved, was welcome.

Chapter
36

We waited at the jetty as Glass took the seaplane around in a big circle. The sea was a little choppy and spray drifted off the tops of the waves outside the sheltered bay. Even the few seagulls that had made it to our island looked windblown, with their feathers ruffling in the gusts. Sand spattered against my legs. Any rougher and we’d be waiting for this oncoming storm to die away before leaving.

I had Jazmine kneeling by my side. It was cooler than normal and her dress fluttered in the breeze. I could even see goose bumps on her arms, but I kept her kneeling as much as possible now. All part of the constant reinforcement of what I needed her to do, to think, to
be
.

The roar of the plane intensified as it cruised toward us. Glass steered in to a few meters out, then cut the engine. The pilot’s door swung open and he jumped down into the water. “Got much to take back?”

“Some.”

Hi
s progress through the sea slowed as he studied Jazmine. He popped up his brows. “You seem to have her well in hand. I find that strangely attractive.”

I nodded. “It is. Man after my own heart.”

“Yeah. If I find a girl like this, you can train her for me.”

Half serious? I wasn’t sure.

“Come, girl. Let’s load the gear.”

T
he weeks that had followed my sadistic blowout had been useful in asserting my dominance. The rifle was out in plain view on top of the boxes but I had no doubt she’d avoid going near it.

I’d left out knives and the rifle on occasion and watched her behavior. Letting her closer than a few yards was dangerous, I’d decided. Besides, how could I train it out of her, if I had to be certain she’d touched the weapon? So I’d made new rules and punished her if she went within ten feet. It worked well. She tended to make a fifteen feet circle around them, since my idea of ten feet and hers didn’t always tee up.

And now, Glass was eyeing her since she’d stopped short of the pile of our stuff. I strode over and removed the weapon, then gestured to her.

The power at times like this, with Glass watching, it was an indescribable rush, a haunting feeling that made me ten feet tall. Even with another man watching, I could’ve bent her over the boxes and fucked her and she’d do nothing except take it and
moan when I made her come.

The curve of her bottom under that short dress...why not?

“Want to truly understand how well she’s trained?”

He shrugged. “Sure.”

I gave him the rifle, beckoned to her then clicked my fingers again. She kneeled before me, eyes widening as I unzipped. “Here.”

The little
V
on her brow and her glance at Glass said it worried her but after a few seconds, she shuffled forward. Her pink mouth opened and my cock twitched in my hand. Memories had me anticipating. The feel of that moist little tongue and her throat pulsing around my dick was always riveting.

I let her lick me. Her tongue tip curled up and around, then I stuck myself all of two inches inside her before I gradually pulled out, took a long breath and zipped up.

From her smile, she knew how good that had felt. Her tongue slid along her upper lip then went back in.

“Whoa.” Glass chuckled. “I tell you what, I wouldn’t have stopped. Damn. I’m going to have blue balls all the way back.”

He wasn’t the only one, but the storm was coming.

“When we get back, I’m fucking that mouth,” I murmured.

“Yes, Sir.” When she went to grab another piece of gear, she leaned over so far I could see her wet slit.

Behind me, Glass coughed. “Damn!”

Was that a deliberate tease? I smiled, finding it strangely enticing that she still might have enough fire in her to tease.

A
fter we’d taken off and reached a good height, the plane banked as we altered direction. Her lips were pale and I recalled her worries over landings and take-offs. “Here. Hold my hand.” When she wriggled her fingers underneath mine, I squeezed.

“Have you still got a job for me, Glass? And a house?”

“Yes. I do.” With the plane level, he glanced back. “You still happy to take it?”

“Absolutely, boss.” I grinned.

“Great. Couple of things. My IT guy tracked the emails from the main guy running that House back to a place in Australia. Long way from us. But at least we know. Second. There’s been someone sniffing around the city. The cops on loan from Australia found Jazmine’s DNA. You can imagine the uproar over that. The local cops are helping them, digging around, interviewing people. That makes things even hairier if anyone links her in any way at all to us. Plus some friend of hers has brought a private detective over. They’re talking to a man tomorrow and he has relatives in the raskols.”

“Okay. You need an emergency plan?”

“I think so. I don’t want them linking you or me to this. To her.”

“Sir? May I speak?”

She’d be wondering who this friend was and about their fate.

“No. Not at all.”

I mused while staring out the window. How far could we go with this?

A dark shadow below in a stretch of shallower sea caught my eye. The shape and size made me think it might be the old man’s boat. If that was it, the vessel hadn’t gotten far at all before sinking. The hole in the hull had been small but there had been the storm that night. They’d never find his body there anyway because I’d dropped it into the current separately.

Risk exposure because he had read more on that page than he admitted? No. My decision had been cold and logical.

I would not let his face haunt me. Not this time.

The wreck was far enough from the island. Soon with the weather and all, no one would think we’d been there, ever. In a month, six months, if anyone waded ashore on those little beaches they would find paradise. White sand, blue sea, scuttling ghost crabs, and sun. No one would know what had happened.

Events sometimes made it necessary to do monstrous things, even when you were not a monster.

If I had to deal with this friend and the detective, I would. Like Jazmine, I’d learned. Sometimes unusual decisions were necessary to survive and regretting them was foolish.

My motto popped up in my thoughts.
Never give up. Never give in.

That motto was a good one. One I’d lived by much of my life. I’d always strived to be a good man, no matter how many awful decisions I’d made. Like shooting Aden. Like keeping Jazmine as mine.

I grimaced. My problem was clear. For once, that motto wouldn’t do.

She was almost asleep, nodding off,
her eyes closed, her body snuggled up against mine. My balls and my chest ached just thinking of her. I could see her automatic arousal when I did certain things to her but it affected me too. I had a boner most days – but I was lucky that I could get her to suck me off or open her legs at the click of my fingers.
Ja
, I was a lucky man, but also a nasty one.

I was never going
to be a good man, not if I wanted to keep her.

Today w
as the day I officially gave in on being good and moral and righteous.

I smiled and tucked a
wayward curl away from her eye. After wrinkling her nose and sniffling, she snuggled even closer. The prickle in my eyes surprised me. I couldn’t afford to be sad; I had to be her mean-ass, cold-hearted trainer – the man who would fuck her sideways and hurt her for the most minor of infractions.

Ja.
It was the only way I could save her life. Glass would never let her go. Neither would I.

When we landed off the coast, it was at a small
, unwatched beach with the shore almost mangrove swamp to the very edge. We waded up onto the short stretch of beach and waited for Glass to come back with word of our transport. The first thing Jazmine did when I deliberately took my eye off her, was to head toward the villagers at the far end of the beach, who were stacking crates to take to the plane. Glass was going to fly back to Port Moresby while I drove in.

Unloading a slave woman in the middle of where he had to land there was never going to work.

I nabbed her before she drifted more than two yards up the beach. “Where the fuck are you going?” I clicked my fingers and she dropped to kneel in the wet sand.

Chew
ing on my lip, arms folded, I examined her. “Answer me.”

Her swallow was obvious. “To see those people.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know, Sir. It just happened.” Her gaze seemed to hold as much confusion as I felt.

“You don’t know? Guess.”

“I don’t. It was automatic.” Her head shake and misery-packed frown said it was the truth.

If she wasn’t trying to escape... No. I was going to send myself crazy.

Training, t
raining, and more training – that’s what was needed.

“Whatever the reason, it was wrong. I’ll punish you in the car.”

And so it went. I knew now how much and what sort of pain she liked, and what she didn’t. What worked as punishment. None of them were likely to work in a moving vehicle. I knew how to get her off fast when I wanted to. So I tried something new.
