~ Chapter Seven ~

Knowing exactly what she was craving, Marcus took Selene to a restaurant nearby his apartment that served the best steak. As soon as Selene’s meal arrived, she began to wolf it down.

Marcus laughed and whispered to her, “Don’t eat so fast when you’re in public. People are going to wonder how your food disappeared so fast.”

Selene swallowed her mouthful of meat and said, “We wouldn’t want that now, would we?”

Marcus laughed at her witty response and she laughed along with him. He couldn’t get over how cute she was and how much he was drawn to her.

“So, what would you like to do after dinner?” he asked casually.

“If you want, we can maybe go back to your place.” She smiled and blushed; she couldn’t get the thought of their kiss off her mind. She was hoping to be able to experience that again, and more.

“That sounds nice.” He smiled back. He was imagining the wonderful night they would have together and could sense she was thinking the same thing.

When they stepped inside Marcus’ apartment, Selene looked around at her surroundings in shock and thought,
‘Really? A handsome man, with a wonderful personality, and his apartment is clean? With my luck with men in the past, this definitely seems too good to be true.’

“Do you need to take a shower or anything?” he asked as he turned off his phone and set it on the coffee table in front of the couch in the living room. He usually wasn’t so nervous around women, but he was with Selene. ‘
Take a shower? What the hell is wrong with me? I hope she doesn’t take offense from that remark,’
he thought.

“No, thanks. I took a shower earlier at the agency.” God, she hoped she didn’t smell bad, because why would he ask her about taking a shower? She really hoped it was his nerves.

“Not that you smell bad or anything. Actually, you smell quite lovely,” he added.

She smiled and blushed a little at his remark. “Thanks.”

Yes, his nerves were definitely throwing him off. He took a deep breath and tried to get past them. He wanted to be himself around her, not some nervous idiot. “What would you like to drink?”

“Whatever you’re having is fine with me,” she said politely.

“Make yourself comfortable. I’ll be right back.”

Selene sat on the couch and watched Marcus walk over to the stereo at the other end of the living room and turn on some soft, Celtic rock music.

“I like the music,” she said as he went to the kitchen, grabbed two wine glasses and a bottle of wine, and returned to the couch.

“I’m glad you like it.” He set the two glasses and bottle of wine on the coffee table and poured her glass first, handing it to her.

“Thank you.” She took a sip.

“I’m the one who should be thanking you. I had a wonderful night.” He smiled as his eyes met her longing gaze.

“The pleasure is all mine.”

When Selene finished her glass of wine, she set down the empty glass on the coffee table. Marcus set his glass down and went to refill hers, but she stopped him by placing her hand on top of his and gently pulling it back.

Their gaze met again, and this time, they didn’t look away.

Selene ran her fingers along the side of his face, her eyes making a quick glance to his lips as they slowly drew nearer. When their lips met, she felt a chill of excitement run through her body. She knew there wouldn’t be any interruptions this time. There was no one around, and she had seen him turn off his phone a few minutes ago. They were alone, finally.

Selene ran her fingers through his hair and gripped the back of his head, pulling him deeper into the kiss. She was never as aroused by a kiss as she was in this moment. Every nerve in her body wanted to jump him and fuck his brains out.

As they kissed passionately, their tongues exploring each other’s mouths, Marcus gently eased her shirt over her head and threw it to the side. Then he ran his hands through her long, wavy hair and down her back until he reached her bra. He unhooked it and slowly slipped the straps down her arms and then off of her completely. He then ran his hands along her slim stomach, up to her breasts.

Selene moaned softly into his mouth as he ran his hands over her breasts and then began to slowly circle her nipples with his thumbs, making them harden at his touch. That drove her wild, and it seemed he knew that. However, it was time for him to lose some of his clothing. She pulled his shirt over his head, almost tearing it, and threw it aside; she had no idea where. She pulled back to look at him, then ran her hands up and down his chest, admiring his rippled abs and smooth chest.

When Selene pulled back, Marcus couldn’t help but take that moment to study her nude torso. The way she looked, proved that perfect beauty did actually exist; her skin was a perfect, creamy color with no tan lines. Her stomach was perfectly flat leading up to her gorgeous, full breasts. He groaned; he was so turned on. He couldn’t hold back any longer. He had to kiss her; have his lips against that perfect, beautiful skin. He wanted to kiss every inch of her. He started kissing her neck, planning on moving down slowly.

“Would you like to take this to the bedroom?” she whispered in a sexy, husky voice.

Just the way she had said that drove him wild. He replied, “Definitely,” and scooped her up in his arms, carrying her into the bedroom and setting her on the bed, easing himself on top of her. He picked up where he left off and continued placing kisses along her neck, working down past her collarbone. Then he kissed his way down to her breast, nibbling her nipple softly.

She moaned and grabbed him by the back of his head, gripping his hair between her fingers, as she held his head in place, urging him to continue. Every single touch and kiss felt vibrant against her skin. It was as if her sense of touch was heightened as well. Hell, that was probably one of the side effects to her werewolf conversion, and if it was, the whole ordeal was worth it just for that alone. Compared to her new werewolf form, her human senses were extremely dull. She wondered, ‘
If simple kisses and caresses felt like this, how amazing would it feel when he’s inside me?’

With that thought in mind, she reached down and undid his pants and began to slip them off. He pulled away a little to make room so he could help her slide them off the rest of the way. He immediately proceeded to take off her jeans, slipping her panties off with them. They were so anxious and overwhelmed with excitement that neither of them had any idea where their clothes went during the exchange and neither one cared.

Now that they were both completely naked, and Marcus’ skin was pressed up against Selene’s, she could feel everything. The warmth of his skin seemed to radiate through hers, though it felt nice, and quite comforting. She felt his heartbeat and could tell he was just about as excited as she was. And when she felt his hard erection press between her legs, her own heartbeat skyrocketed. She could feel the wetness between her thighs.

She kissed him aggressively, and when their lips parted, she said, “You know that feeling you get after it stops raining and sun comes out, revealing a rainbow?”

“Yes,” he smiled and thought, ‘
What does this have to do with what we’re doing now?

“That’s how I feel right now. Mostly because I’m with you, but everything feels brighter, clearer, and more vibrant.”

“How about this?” he asked, nibbling on her ear and then nipping softly at her skin along her neck.

“Mmm… that’s wonderful.” Yes, it did feel wonderful, but she longed to feel him inside her. She pulled him up towards her so they were face to face, and she whispered in his ear, “I want to know how it feels with you inside me.”

“In a minute, I need a taste,” he said as he slowly started kissing his way back down her body. When he reached his destination, he spread her thighs apart. He began to use his tongue to lick her clit and make slow circles around it. He ran his tongue from front to back, coating it with her essence. He loved pleasing her like this, but his shaft was so hard, he didn’t know if he was going to last.

She was going to come then and there if he kept licking her most sensitive parts. When he had reached her mound and began to slowly circle her clit with his tongue. She arched her back and moaned. She didn’t know how much of this she could take. “Please, Marcus, now.”

Just the mere words coming out of her mouth nearly drove him over the edge, not to mention her hands that were pulling at his hair, trying to get him to move back up her body. He slowly started kissing his way back up until they were eye to eye. He felt her hand graze down his abdomen and then wrap around his hardness. How could he resist her any longer?

She moved her hips toward him and he slid between her thighs. They met each other perfectly and he slowly eased himself inside her. She gasped as he filled her completely. He was long and thick and she thrust her hips toward him to feel the deep penetration.

She pulled him closer again and kissed him passionately as their bodies continued to move in rhythmic motions with each other. They were so in sync, it surprised them both. Even though they had just met that morning, it seemed like they had known each other for years.

“You’re so warm and inviting,” he whispered to her as he nibbled on her ear. He didn’t want to go into detail about his comparison between her and the other women he had slept with during his lifetime. Being a hot-blooded werewolf, humans always seemed a little cool for his tastes. He hated to think how cold and unpleasant it must be to have sex with a vampire. He almost shivered at the thought. Selene, however, was just right for him, a perfect match. She fit around him like a glove.

“So are you. I love the way you feel inside me,” she whispered back, managing to steal another kiss. She bit his bottom lip softly and he moaned in response and pushed deep inside her. She gasped and a low growl emitted from her throat. She felt a surge of energy flow through her body and, before she knew what she was doing, she flipped him over so she was on top, never separating from him for one second.

“Ooh, aggressive, are we?” He grinned. He had never made love with a werewolf before, but so far, he was definitely enjoying himself.

“Not usually. You bring out the animal in me.” She grinned back, staring into his eyes as she leaned back, placing her hands on his thighs for support. She began to thrust onto him, riding him fast and hard. She could feel every part of him inside her, yet she still wanted him deeper. Just then, as if he was reading her mind, he thrust up as she pushed down, and she gripped his hips tight, holding him there. Breathing heavily, she threw her head back and arched her back. He ran his hands up her stomach and cupped her breasts. He then rubbed her perky nipples with his thumbs again, which drove her crazy, as he had already found out. She said in barely a whisper, “Oh, Marcus,” and leaned down to kiss him passionately.

Marcus couldn’t contain himself any longer. He grabbed her hips, flipping her over so he was on top again. He continued their kiss and passionate love-making where they had left off. As if their bodies were making music, their rhythm picked up, his thrusts became harder and faster as he pounded into her.

As Selene felt herself nearing her climax, she wrapped her legs around him, and as she pulled herself up toward him, he reached down and pinched her clit, sending her over the edge, screaming. Normally she wasn’t a screamer, but this feeling was
mind-blowing
! He was certainly, by far, the best she’s ever had, and between that and her heightened senses; she was in a complete state of ecstasy.

Shortly after Selene’s climax, Marcus thrust in and out a few more times, reaching his own breaking point as well. He collapsed beside her, panting.

“That was definitely the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced,” he said.

“Funny, I was just about to say the same thing,” she added, staring into his eyes with a seductive grin. “Wanna play that song again?”

He loved how she said that metaphorically. There probably wasn’t a song in the world that would have lasted as long as the sex they had just had. Between her captivating eyes and seductive grin, and his seemingly endless longing desire for her, there was no way he could say no to that question.

~ Chapter Eight ~

Selene woke early the next morning, wrapped in Marcus’ embrace. She slowly eased her way up and kissed his neck lightly. He began to stir, moaning in response to her soft kisses.

“Good morning, baby,” she said, continuing to kiss his neck, working up to his lips. Then, when he opened his eyes, she caught his gaze and smiled.

He smiled back and wrapped his arms around her again, pulling her close. “Good morning, beautiful. I didn’t make you sore did I? I know I got a little carried away and kept you up most of the night.”

“No, I’m not sore. I had a great time. Last night was amazing.”

“It sure was.” Marcus smiled, glancing over at the clock. He rolled his eyes and muttered, “Shit.”

“What is it?”

“I gotta go get ready for work.” He got up and slipped on a pair of boxers. “Are you okay with using the shower at the agency?” He thought about taking a shower with her, but knew that if he got her in there, they would definitely be late for work. It seemed he couldn’t get enough of her and by the pressure in his lower region, he knew it was true. He needed to change the subject quick before he threw out all his good intentions and grabbed her.

“Yeah, that shower was actually better than the one at my apartment. I can wait ‘til we get there for coffee and breakfast, too. I noticed you had the fridge and cabinets stocked with food.”

“That’s probably because it doubles as food for the guests and for the employees. Everything there is so organized, just how I like it.” Marcus answered, but his thoughts were, ‘
Damn, changing the subject was a bad idea. Discussing food isn’t helping, because now I’m thinking about the taste of her. I needed to get in the shower fast and it’s going to be a cold one.

“I prefer it to be that way, too.”

“I’ll be out in a few minutes,” he said, hurrying and closing the bathroom door.

While Marcus was in the shower, Selene put her clothes back on from last night, brushed her hair, and brushed her teeth in the kitchen. She was glad she had plenty of time to grab what she needed at her apartment before she took off with Marcus. She had hurried, and surprisingly, it had only taken her a minute to do all three things. She decided she had better slow down as to not accidentally slip up and attract unwanted attention when she’s in public.

Only five minutes later, Selene heard the bathroom door open from where she was standing in the kitchen, and she thought, ‘
Wow, he’s fast, too. Geez, this new supernatural ability would have come in handy for all those days I was worried about being late to work.

She rounded the corner and saw him standing there; the only thing he had on was a towel wrapped around his waist. She made eye contact with him and grinned as she looked him up and down. “Looking good, handsome.”

“Not looking so bad yourself, gorgeous.” He smiled as he studied her gorgeous figure for a moment. He loved the way that outfit looked on her. Hell, he imagined probably any outfit would look great on her, though. She is just naturally beautiful. He also knew how she would look without the outfit on, which he preferred a whole lot more.

While Selene packed her belongings back into her bag and made the bed, Marcus got dressed and shaved.

Hand-in-hand, they walked out the door, locking it behind them. Upon exiting the building, Marcus noticed something strange about his car; there was something written on the windshield.

“What the fuck?” he muttered as they read the sloppy, red writing.

It read, ‘I’m coming for you, Selene.’

Selene’s heart skipped a beat in her chest and she felt light-headed. The murderer really was following her. She hoped Marcus had been wrong in his assumption.

Marcus studied the writing, concluding out loud, “It’s written in blood.”

“It figures!” she said, throwing her hands up in the air. She was frustrated and starting to panic. “There’s a psycho killer following me, and now he’s writing messages to me in blood. What the hell is next?!” She knew she was panic mode, but couldn’t help herself. She didn’t know what she would’ve done without Marcus there. She would probably already be dead.

Marcus went to her, gently grabbed her, making eye contact, and said, “Calm down. Everything will be alright. I won’t let him hurt you. I promise.”

“I’ll never be able to thank you enough for what you’re doing for me, Marcus.” She hugged him, holding him tight. She felt the strength that seemed to radiate naturally from him.

Just yesterday morning, she hadn’t even met this man yet, and now, here she was; his new lover. She couldn’t believe that the safest place in the world to her right now was in the arms of a man she had only known for a day. And even weirder, she found herself okay with that knowledge.

Selene felt safe at the agency. It was just about the only place she felt safe now with that killer on the loose.

It was mid-afternoon, and it was Yvonne and Lucius’ turn to scour the city for the murderer. So far, none of them had had any luck at all. There weren’t even consistent scents at all the crime scenes. However, the killings had continued. Whoever this was, really knew what he was doing if he was able to outsmart everyone at the agency.

Even though Selene was a werewolf now and technically had the ability to defend herself against any possible threat out there, nothing frightened her more than to go against a ruthless killer like this. When that thought crossed her mind, she asked Marcus, “Can you teach me how to shape shift?”

“That’s right, you haven’t attempted that yet.” He had completely forgotten to speak with her about that.

“Nope, I’ve been too busy spending time with you.” She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him. “Don’t get me wrong; I really enjoy spending time with you, but―”

“This sounds like a really bad breakup,” he laughed.

She laughed also and said, “No, of course not, never. It’s just that, I would like to know how it’s done, that’s all.”

He stepped back and led her to the center of the main room, in the large open space. “Okay, there’s two ways we can do this. Shape shifting can occur in two ways. I changed the first time I got angry, not long after I was converted.”

“I’d prefer not to have to deal with anger right now, thanks.” She stood with her hands on her hips and a smirk on her face.

He couldn’t help but smile at her cute mannerisms. “The second way is to concentrate and imagine
yourself
changing.”

“Gee, I’ve never imagined myself changing into a wolf before,” she laughed.

“If it helps, I’ll change with you. Does that sound good? I’ll follow you ever step of the way.”

“That sounds great, thank you.”

Selene knew it would help to close her eyes while she attempted this. Whenever she deeply concentrated on anything, she preferred to close her eyes. It helped clear her mind and help her focus. So, when she closed her eyes, she was able to push any doubt out of her mind. After all, what else could explain the super speed and healing and her craving for red meat?

Next, she tried to concentrate on every cell in her body and willed them to change their shape. She imagined, instead of skin, she had fur. Instead of two arms and two legs, she had four legs. And instead of a human face, she had a long snout and pointed ears.

When she opened her eyes, she was lower to the ground and face-to-face with a large black wolf. Every human instinct would have told her to be frightened, but that was before. Now, she slowly approached the wolf. Her first steps in wolf form were odd, yet somehow a lot easier than walking in human form. She could see herself being able to easily run fast in this form.

When she stood before the black wolf, she licked his snout lovingly. Her human side suggested it was strange to lick instead of kiss, but every part of what she was doing felt natural, like it was already second nature to her.

Marcus turned and trotted away, indicating to her to follow. They went into the guest room she was staying in and she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. She walked up to the mirror and studied her reflection; she was a beautiful, solid white color. Her hazel eyes were the same, except they were rimmed with a yellowish-gold color.

“You’re beautiful,” said Marcus. He already turned back into his human form.

Selene turned, and just as easily as she had shifted to wolf form, she changed back to human form and gazed into his eyes.

“Thank you, Marcus.”

“I’m just stating the obvious. You would be beautiful no matter what form you took,” he said with a smile.

“No, I mean, thank you for everything you’ve done for me.”

“The first time I laid eyes on you, I had a feeling you were someone special. And after getting to know you, I
know
you’re special.”

She blushed. She didn’t care when other men had complimented her in the past, but there was just something that made her heart flutter every time Marcus said something nice to her like this. “I’m not, really. But you, I’ve looked for someone like you for a long time now. I would have settled for someone half as wonderful as you.”

“Same here, baby.”

They continued to stare into each other’s eyes, both of them convinced they were staring into the eyes of their soul mate. But both of them were too scared to admit it yet.

That night, just before Marcus and Selene got ready to go back to his apartment, Yvonne and Lucius barged in, dragging a limp man.

“What the hell?” asked Selene, keeping a safe distance from the stranger, for now at least.

Marcus ran over to help them drag the man into a cell. He needn’t ask what the man’s purpose for being here was; he knew this man was no good.

Upon settling him down in a cell, exiting, and locking the door, they glared at the man as he came to. He wasn’t large, and didn’t look to be the type to be a serial killer. He just looked like a normal homeless guy they had picked up off the streets. He had black hair, a pale complexion, and dark-brown eyes.

“Who is this? Please tell me it’s our killer,” asked Marcus, growling as he stared upon the stranger.

Selene crept up behind Marcus and wrapped her arms around him, peeking over his shoulder at the man in the cell, thinking, ‘
I hope this is him, too. Those poor people, all those poor people. No one else needs to die like that.

“Yes, his scent was found at the two crime scenes today,” explained Lucius. “He goes by the name, Sam.”

“I didn’t do it, I tell you!” Sam yelled, startling Selene. He growled as he paced back and forth in his cell. Selene could smell his scent from where she was standing, several feet away. He had a werewolf’s scent, not the smell of a homeless man.

“Why should we believe you, when the evidence was right in front of us?” asked Yvonne.

“I told you, I was only there to try to gather evidence for myself. I figured if I could track down the killer… Well, I wanted to be a hero, alright.”

“Prove it. Prove to us you’re telling the truth,” Marcus demanded.

“I can’t prove anything, but give it some time. He’ll kill again, you’ll see.”

Selene stared into the man’s eyes. His aura seemed dark and cold. She had a strong feeling this was the man they were looking for; the man that had attacked her that night and changed her life forever. If only she had her heightened senses that night. She would have been able to see his face in the shadows and smell his scent. Then she would know for sure whether or not this was the man.
