She had to get out of here. She couldn’t stand to be in his presence any longer. “Are you ready to go, Marcus?” she asked, trying not to let her fear show through her voice, though she was failing miserably.

“Yes,” he answered, staring at the caged man coldly until he and Selene disappeared into the other room. She grabbed her bag and they made their way out of the building.

Once they were outside, Selene grabbed his arm, getting his attention. She looked into his eyes and asked, “Do you think that’s really the killer, Marcus?”

“We’ll see if there are any more murders. Then we’ll know for sure.” He started to make his way toward his car, with her following closely behind him.

“No, really, is your gut telling you this is the killer?”

“It’s hard to say. Right now, I can’t’ help but feel worried still. I’m paranoid and worried sick, just thinking about someone possibly being out there who wants to kill you.” He opened the car door and let her in.

She waited until he was in the car and replied, “I know what you mean.”

“Do you think he’s the killer?” He asked, starting the car and driving away.

“Honestly, yes, I do. That man has a very dark aura; the kind a killer has.”

“Just because he has a dark aura doesn’t mean he’s a killer.”

“You asked my opinion,” Selene replied a bit snarky.

“I know. I’m just saying, be careful.” He was hoping he could get their mind off this gloomy topic for a moment, plus he was starting to get hungry. “What would you like to eat when we get back to my apartment?”

“Whatever you want to have is fine with me.”

“Steak it is, then.”

“You know, with us being werewolves and all, don’t you think it would be wise to move to the country and catch our food, instead of buying it at the store?”

“That’s a great idea, actually. However, there’s the fact that the agency is in the city.”

“Move the agency, or at least open another location in the country.”

Marcus really did think that was a great idea. He enjoyed living in the country when he was a young child. He hated it when they had to move to the city and his freedom to shape shift became very limited. But then he became a cop and enjoyed using his abilities, to an extent. He loved making a difference in the city, whether he was a cop or working for
Black Wolf Agency
.

“I don’t know, Selene,” he answered after considering her suggestion for a moment. “That would be tough.”

“Well, just think about it. Maybe bring it up at the next meeting. If your father really is leaving you in charge, then you should have the power to do what you want.”

“Yes, perhaps, but getting enough people to join me will be difficult. Everyone who works at the agency is firmly established in the city.”

“It won’t hurt to ask. I know I’m new to this, but think of the space to run freely and never having to worry about letting our secret out. I think quite a few of them would be up for the move, especially the werewolves.”

“Okay, I’ll ask. Are you happy now? Geesh.” He laughed, smiling at her.

Just then, Marcus found a close parking space outside his apartment. He parallel parked the car and then kindly opened Selene’s door for her, taking her hand as she stepped out. When they got inside, they worked together preparing dinner, and all the while, Marcus couldn’t stop thinking about what Selene had suggested. Maybe she was right. After all, they were half wild animal, so shouldn’t they live in the country where they could have freedom to live on their wild side?

As soon as they finished cleaning up dinner and brushed their teeth, Selene grabbed Marcus by the hand and dragged him into the bedroom. Not that he needed to be dragged. He would have gone willingly. He could tell she was anxious, though.

Upon reaching the edge of the bed, Selene grabbed his face and leaned in to kiss him, taking the tip of her tongue and sliding it across his bottom lip. She waited until he parted his lips to push her tongue inside his mouth to mingle with his. Running her hands up his shirt, she felt his rippled abs, imagining how hot he looked naked. She wanted to get his clothes off in that instant. In an attempt to pull off his shirt quickly, she ripped it off instead, laughing at her mistake.

“You ripped my shirt,” he said, grinning at her. He couldn’t be mad at her, and he had to admit, that was very sexy.

He stepped closer to her and she could feel his hard erection pressing against her as he unbuttoned her shirt and took it off. She was so distracted by what he was doing, and the feel of him against her, that she almost forgot to reply. “I know. I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be. I like it when you’re rough.” He looked down at her chest as he unclipped her bra and slipped it off, touching her nipples with his fingertips.

“Oh, you do, huh?” she asked, running her hand down inside his pants and grabbing his hard cock, giving it a squeeze.

He gasped, grinned at her, and said, “Oh, you’re getting it now.” He pushed her down on the bed, her bottom half still off the bed, her feet touching the floor. In one quick move, he pulled off her pants along with her panties and knelt down on the floor in front of her. Marcus grabbed hold of her ankles and lifted her legs, settling them over his shoulders. Leaning in, he began nibbling on her thigh, working upward between her legs. He slowly grazed his tongue along her warm, wet entrance, dipping the tip between her folds to get a good taste of her. Then he traced his tongue upward, circling it slowly around her clit.

“That feels so good, Marcus,” she moaned, as she reached down and ran her fingers through his hair.

He loved the way she ran her fingers along his scalp. He hated to admit it, but he actually liked being petted, at least by her. At that moment, he wanted nothing more than to lay her out under him and fuck her until both of them passed out, but he wanted to please her first. He loved playing with her like this anyway.

As Selene felt Marcus begin to suck on her clit, she gasped, arching her back in pleasure. She knew he was exploring her and had found her undoing. As he continued, he ran his hand up to her breast, pinching her nipple between his fingers and making the bud harden from his touch. When she didn’t think she could take anymore, she felt a finger enter her and then another one as Marcus started fucking with his fingers, while continuing to circle her clit with his tongue. He bent his fingers inside her finding the sweet spot that send her over the edge. She reached her climax, digging her nails into his scalp as she yelled out his name.

Marcus leaned over her, grinning, happy he had satisfied her, at least momentarily.

“Holy fuck, that was amazing!” she said, seemingly overwhelmed.

“I’m glad you enjoyed it,” he said, kissing her.

Determined to get him naked, Selene sat up, pushing him up with her, and undid his pants, pushing them down. He kicked them off, leaned in for a quick kiss, and then whispered, “Turn around.”

She grinned at him and did as he said. She turned around and bent forward, resting her hands on the bed, as she felt his shaft rub up against her. He slowly guided himself inside her wet entrance. She gasped as she felt him penetrate her deep, moving slowly in and out of her. He leaned forward and pushed her hair to the side, kissing the back of her neck and down to her shoulder blade. The sensation of his lips on her back sent a chill through her and she moaned and shuddered lightly. Next, she reached for his hand and grabbed it, guiding it to her breast. She kept her hand on top of his as he played with her nipple. Then, he grabbed her hip with his other hand and while digging his fingers into her skin, he thrust into her harder, pulling her toward him in rhythmic, hard motions. She knew she wouldn’t last long like this. She could already feel the orgasm building.

With every thrust into her, she cried out in pleasure. Marcus could tell she was close. He stopped, pulled out of her, and turned her around to face him, kissing her with force. Then, with one of her feet still on the floor, he lifted up her other leg and wrapped it around his waist and pushed into her again. “I want to see the look on your gorgeous face when you come,” he whispered, kissing her again.

The mere words coming out of his mouth had her melting. With one hand behind her back, holding her, he used his other hand to play with one of her nipples, pinching it as he thrust hard and fast into her. With that, she was finished. As she reached her high, she threw her head back and cried out in what sounded like a howl. She went weak in the knees, and the one knee still supporting her nearly gave way. She would have collapsed to the floor, if not for Marcus’s hold on her.

Between the look of pure bliss on her face, and the feel of her tightening around him after her orgasm, he knew he was done for. Then, just before he climaxed, she reached down and grabbed his balls, squeezing them and sending him crashing over the edge so hard and fast, he didn’t know what hit him. He let out a howl-like noise and felt his knees go weak. He set her leg down and leaned forward, resting his forehead against hers and looking into her eyes closely.

“Where did you learn that one, hmm?” he asked, grinning.

“Just trying something new, that’s all.” She grinned back.

They both reached for the covers on the bed and pulled them back. Then they fell on the bed to start round two.

Yes, they were certainly in for another long night. It never seemed long enough to them, though. Hours and hours passed by in what seemed like mere minutes to them. They couldn’t get enough of each other.

Finally, after hours of love making, Selene curled up beside Marcus, and laid her head on his chest, letting the beat of his heart lure her into sleep.

~ Chapter Nine ~

The next morning, when Marcus was in the shower, Selene’s phone rang.

“Hello?” she answered in a friendly tone, despite the early hour.

“Selene,” said an intimidating male voice.

“Hi, Mr. Gates,” she said, trying not to let the fear show in her voice. Whenever her boss called her personally, it was usually about something bad, or something was dreadfully wrong.

“Have you gathered more intell on the man in question?”

“Yes, I have.”

“Good, tell me as soon as you come to work in a little while.”

“Will do, sir.”

She pressed ‘end’ and tucked the phone in the side pocket of her purse. It was put away just in time. Marcus was done in the shower and was just coming out of the bathroom. She looked at him and smiled, but the look on his face told her that he somehow sensed something was wrong.

“What’s wrong, honey?”

“Nothing baby, everything’s fine,” said Selene, forcing a smile.

They quickly got ready and left for the agency. When they arrived, he got to work while she showered and got dressed so she could return to her job at the bank.

“I really think you should stay with me. What if that killer is still out there? The first place he’d check this time of day is your job.”

“I’ll be fine. I’m pretty confident Sam is the killer. Besides, if he’s not, I’m a werewolf. I can defend myself.” She knew it would be hard to hide anything from him. He could sense when the slightest thing was off with her. How could he not sense this? She debated telling him about her real job, worried he might think she was spying on him, or something along those lines. But if she didn’t tell him, and he found out the wrong way, he might never trust her again. She would have to find a right way to tell him soon.

Seeing that there was no convincing Selene otherwise, he nodded in agreement and said, “Alright, but I’m assigning one of the other werewolves to keep an eye on you today.”

“Marcus, honey, you worry too much.” ‘Oh no, a werewolf bodyguard? How in the hell am I gonna get out of this one?’ she thought, biting her lip nervously. ‘Cool it, Selene. Having a werewolf stand guard outside where I work for only one day won’t jeopardize your secret. I’ll have to make sure to tell him sometime today. I must.’

“There’s no such thing when it comes to your safety.”

“Okay, well, are you ready to go?” she asked, holding her purse. She was dressed nice; she wore a white shirt with a collar and grey blazer over it, with a matching skirt that came to just above her knees, and a pair of cute black shoes with three inch heels.

“Yep, I’m ready. You look really nice, by the way,” he said, smiling as he leaned in to kiss her.

“Thank you.” She blushed. She couldn’t seem to get enough of him, and after last night’s sex marathon, he had to be feeling the same about her. Didn’t he? She smiled to herself.

When they arrived at the bank, Selene leaned over and kissed Marcus goodbye. Then she assured him, “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.”

“Telling me not to worry is like telling a werewolf not to howl at the full moon.” He chuckled and then added, “Alright, I’ll try not to worry. I’ll send someone over as soon as I can. You won’t even know he’s here. Then, when you get out of work at 5pm, I’ll be here to pick you up. Fifth floor, right?”

“Yes, sir,” she said, grinning as she leaned over to kiss him again. This time the kiss lasted longer. She went to open her mouth to tell him her secret, but between her nerves and the fact that she would be running late if she stayed any longer, she decided not to say anything. She would tell him later, when they were both done working and alone together. Instead, for now, she said, “I’ll miss you.”

“I’ll miss you, too.” He smiled at her as she got out of the car.

She looked back and blew him a kiss just before she entered the building and disappeared out of sight.

Even though Selene had told him repeatedly not to worry and that she was pretty sure the man they had in the cell back at the agency was indeed the murderer they were looking for, Marcus was still very worried. Until he saw some kind of proof that they had the right man, he would continue to worry about her. There was no denying it; he was developing feelings for her. Strong feelings. In fact, he had never felt this way about someone in his entire life.

He smiled as thoughts were running in his mind, ‘
I’ve known almost most my entire life, or at least since I was a teenager, that the werewolf sex drive was by far more than the average human’s. I have always had a handle on mine, or should I say…a hand on mine? I’ve been able to control the overpowering urges, until now it looks like.’
He shook his head and chuckled to himself.

When Marcus got back to the agency, Yvonne and Lucius were there waiting for him.

“What’s up? Any news?” asked Marcus. His heart began to race in that second as he waited for their answer.

“We just checked and there haven’t been any murders since we locked up Sam last night,” announced Yvonne.

Marcus let out a sigh of relief and said, “That’s great news. Maybe we have our killer after all, just as Selene thought. I’d like to send Damian or Devon over to the bank she works at anyway, just to make sure she’s alright.”

“Marcus, she’s a werewolf,” said Lucius. “Even if we’re wrong, and the killer is still out there, she’ll be okay. She can defend herself.”

“She’s a
new
werewolf, though. She doesn’t have the skills and knowledge that we have.” Marcus could feel himself getting angry and knew he should tone it down. He didn’t want everyone to find out about his growing feelings for Selene, at least not before he was totally sure about them himself.

“He has a point,” Yvonne suggested. “Kate is pretty new still, too. I doubt she’d be able to fight off an experienced werewolf.”

“Kate is pregnant, Yvonne,” argued Lucius. “That’s not a good comparison.”

“Well, either way, I agree with Marcus. I think it would be a good idea to have someone watch over her at all times.” Then Yvonne looked at Marcus and said, “I can tell you really like her. I’d hate to see you lose another special person in your life.”

“Thanks, Yvonne.”

Marcus knew if there was anyone who would have had a problem with him taking over his father’s position at the agency, it would be Yvonne. The fact that she was being so nice to him, and even sticking up for him and agreeing with him was a good indicator that she probably felt he was a good choice to lead the agency.

As soon as Selene stepped out of the elevator, her boss approached her with a serious expression on his face. He needn’t say anything; she already knew what was going to happen next. “Good morning, Mr. Gates.”

“Good morning, Selene. Come into the meeting room. We have to discuss this with the whole team.”

Joshua Gates was the type of man that naturally made someone nervous. He was a tall, dark-haired man with a pale complexion. He was actually kind of handsome, but the constant serious look on his face and stiff demeanor always seemed to instill fear in everyone around him.

Nervous, she followed him through the bank, past all the unknowing employees. They stepped into his office and closed the door, locking it behind them. Then he lifted a picture frame on his wall, typed in the pass code into the keypad behind it, and out of the wall next to it, opened a door. Normally, the door was invisible, blending perfectly into the wallpaper. Selene had only been beyond this door a few times. Most of her dealings with her team were done on the streets. Though, quite often Mr. Gates would have her do boring office work just to keep up appearances. She was supposedly an employee at a bank, after all.

“Good morning, everyone,” said Selene, smiling at her team, consisting of four men and one woman; Jeff, Dan, Jeremy, Dave, and Amber, all of whom were young, fit, and attractive. The team was missing two of its members. They had been among the victims of the werewolf killer’s attacks.

“Good morning, Selene,” said Jeff, smiling at her. Jeff was cute, though a bit of an oddball at times. He was tall and thin with medium-brown hair, and had thin-framed glasses you barely noticed.

‘I wish he’d stop making googly eyes at me,’ she thought. ‘I should just get it over with and tell him I had the most amazing sex with my boyfriend last night and I’m not interested in him. Though, I’m not sure whether I should call Marcus my boyfriend just yet.’

Selene took a seat and sat there, nervously waiting for Mr. Gates to start questioning her.

“So, Selene, tell us what you found out,”

“He’s a werewolf. The killer is a werewolf.”

“A werewolf?” he asked, astonished.

“Yes.”

“But werewolves don’t normally kill humans. How do you know this?”

That was a tough question for Selene to answer. She knew if she answered truthfully, she would be betraying Marcus’ trust by revealing to them that he was a werewolf, or she would have to reveal her secret to them. She took a moment to think about it. It was either his secret or hers. “I was bitten by him.”

“Are you okay?” asked Jeff.

“Yes, I’m fine.”

“But how do you know the killer is a werewolf?” asked Mr. Gates.

Selene knew what he was getting at and knew she couldn’t dance around this any longer. “I know, because he turned me into one when he attacked me. He tried to kill me, but I got away. I was the only one who got away.”

The gasps coming from the others startled her. She looked at Jeff. He now looked at her with a frightened look on his face. Even though they were fully aware of the existence of werewolves, she knew they would never look at her the same again. She was now different than them, and they were probably going to fear her from now on because of it. She was so glad she had Marcus. With him, she was an equal. He treated her the way she wanted to be treated. He was her perfect match.

“Well, I see this as an opportunity,” said Mr. Gates, staring at her. His eyes said it all. He was going to try to use her to do his bidding. “Since the killer is apparently already after you, I want you to try to hunt him down and kill him.”

“I don’t know, Mr. Gates―” She held back, promising herself that she wouldn’t tell him about Black Wolf Agency, and in turn, she wouldn’t tell him that the killer had already been caught.
