She shrugged and picked up toys around the house. “That’s why I’m here Raffir.”

Unfortunately Serena had not warmed up to him at all. She was cordial to him but she never asked him about his day or his life at the palace. She kept him updated on all things Rafa and kept her distance when he came for a visit. He hated it. The more time he spent with her the more he was sure that Serena was the woman he wanted by his side. “Thank you anyway.”

“You’re welcome.” She kept her back to him so her stupid body wouldn’t respond to him. She knew coming to Maju-ul would be a problem since she hadn’t gotten over him yet. And seeing him every evening was as hard as those first few days after she’d left Paris. His dark hair was a little longer than it should be but

the waves were a sexy contrast to his sparkling golden eyes. His tan skin always glistened from the heat but he was always the sexiest man she’d ever seen up close.

“Let’s talk Serena.”

She turned with a sigh. “What would you like to talk about?”

He patted the seat on the sofa. “Come sit and tell me how you’re settling in to Maju-ul.”

“I’m doing fine Raffir. Work and Rafa keeps me busy.” She found translation work online, translating documents and webpages for international corporations. In between Rafa’s needs she worked and cooked and cleaned. It wasn’t the best life but it was just a few more months.

“That doesn’t sound like much of a life Serena. Have you made no friends?”

“Well I may not be royalty Raffir but it’s the only life I have so I deal with it.” She stood, not wanting to have this conversation.

He followed her into the kitchen. “I didn’t mean anything by it, love. I’m just worried about you because you seem unhappy.”

She turned to face him and gasped at his nearness. “I’m not happy or unhappy, I just am. I made this compromise for Rafa’s happiness so nothing else matters.”

He stroked her face softly with the back of his hand. “It matters to me. I never wanted you to be unhappy. Ever.”

Her resolve was weakening and she needed him to leave now. “I don’t need you to worry about me. Just focus on Rafa and your royal duties.” His father was getting older and she knew he would have to take a wife soon before he could take the throne.

“I can’t help it Serena. I care for you, deeply.”

“Don’t say that to me Raffir, it’s not fair. Please.”

“I can’t help how I feel Serena. The more time I spend with you the more certain I am that I made a huge mistake in Paris.” He knew it back then but his pride wouldn’t allow him to admit it.

She looked up at him and his hands cupped her face, she held her breath as he slowly came closer to her. He was going to kiss her and dammit she was going to let him. “Raffi,” she whispered moments before his lips touched down on hers.

When she whispered his name as she used to call it, Raffi, his passion for her erupted into a ball of fiery lust and passion he could no longer contain. He wanted this woman more than he’d ever wanted a woman and he would have her. His lips took hers roughly, letting her know who she belonged to while giving her such pleasure she moaned into his mouth. He felt his body stiffen as her arms snaked around his neck and pulled him closer, taking over the kiss on her terms. His hands tightened on her firm ass, pulling her closer to where he wanted her most. Raffir grabbed her and lifted until her legs wrapped around his waist, leaving nothing but a scrap of lace between them.

Serena knew what they were headed for was a bad idea and more heartbreak for her but being so close to him, tasting him and letting his aroma seep into her skin was too intoxicating to resist. He was too intoxicating to resist. She would take this night and tomorrow start again. “Yes Raffi. Now.” She circled her hips against him until he was moaning and panting, hands gripping her so tight she knew she’d have bruises tomorrow.

“Serena I have to have you,” he groaned and sat her on the table where they’d eaten dinner. She kissed his neck and chest as she unbuttoned his shirt while he did the pants. Finally, his pants and boxers were on the floor and he was staring at Serena looking like a glowing goddess with her chest heaving and dress pushed up around her waist. “Are you sure Serena?”

She nodded, tugging him closer. “I’m sure. Tonight, I want you.” She took over his mouth and grabbed his erection bringing it ever closer to the wet heat between her legs. She moaned when his tip finally touched her and caressed him through her slick moisture until he was coated with her and eased him in. His hips finished the job and their eyes were glued to one another as they relished this moment, this coming together again after such a long absence. “Raffi,” she urged him to move, to give her what she needed.

He was happy to oblige, finally in the one place he’d dreamed of since he’d gone to her apartment and found it empty of everything that mattered. He pulled almost all the way out and slammed in, again and again until she was panting and crying his name. She was begging for more and Raffir happily gave it to her. Her legs trembled around him and he knew she was close so he slowed down and brought his hand between them to pinch that bundle of nerves that would drive her wild. “Serena, fuck.”

“Yes Raffi, yes!” She shouted and he hammered harder into her feeling her squeeze him and pulse around him as she found her orgasm. He kept the pressure on her clit as he thrust in and out until stars were exploding behind his eyes as he emptied into her. “Wow,” she huffed and tried to catch her breath.

Raffir was stunned speechless. Their lovemaking had never been so fierce, so passionate, so primal. It was always hot but this was something that shook him to his core. “Serena, what was that?”

She smiled and then laughed. And laughed until her entire body shook with it. There was no answer for what that was but it was fantastic and Serena was pretty sure it meant she would never get over this man. “That was world class lovema-, sex. World class sex.”

Raffi picked her up and carried her to the bed. Where they enjoyed another round or two of world class sex. But he knew it was lovemaking. The sweetest, hottest lovemaking he’d ever had.

Serena woke up a few days later to someone laying on her doorbell. She grabbed her robe and prepared herself to give someone a few nasty words before Rafa woke up. “What the hell,” The words died on her lips when she took in Raffir dressed in his formal Sheikh outfit. He was wearing all white, making his bronzed skin look sexy as hell. His golden eyes shone like yellow diamonds in the sun. He held a ridiculously large bouquet of exotic flowers and several palace staff stood behind him. “What’s all this Raffir?”

His shoulder slumped ever so slightly at her reverting back to the use of his full name but he wasn’t to be deterred. “Well Serena I’ve come to win you back. To woo you and prove that I love you.”

“Wait, you what?” She couldn’t believe her ears, especially with her brain still only half awake. She wouldn’t project her deepest desires onto him.

“You heard me Serena. I love you and I plan to prove it to you until you believe it.” His heart felt full with love for Serena and Rafael, the people of Maju-ul and his homeland. “I knew there was a reason I couldn’t choose any of those other women, I couldn’t get you out of my mind. I looked for you when you left in Ireland, Australia and even America. I couldn’t sleep for weeks from wanting you so bad.” He smiled at her stunned face. “Imagine my surprise when I’d resolved to find a wife that she should be sitting down to lunch with my business partner.”

“What?” It wasn’t exactly the smoothest or sexiest answer but her brain wouldn’t let her believe what her heart so desperately wanted to.

Raffir gently pushed her back into the house against the hall in the foyer and kissed her. “Serena I’ve chased the globe for you and now that I have you I never want to let you go. Serena say you and Rafa will stay here with me, in the palace. I love you from the bottom of my heart and I want to spend the rest of our lives showing you how deep and wide my love for you is.” He kissed her again, longer this time until she was breathless. “I want us to raise Rafa together as well as all of his brothers and sisters. Serena O’Brien, will you do me the honor of being my wife, my queen?”

Tears rolled down her cheeks as his words began to penetrate the fog of disbelief hanging over her. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Raffir not only loved her but he had chosen her to be his wife, to be by his side as he took over the throne and brought Maju-ul into the twenty-first century. It was a great honor and she felt the pieces of her fractured heart mend and become whole. “Yes Raffir, I will marry you. Yes! Yes! I would be honored to be your wife.”

He scooped her up and kissed the hell out of her until her robe was on the floor and she was writhing against him. The kiss went on and on until a baby’s garbled conversation broke through the lust. “Let’s go get our son.”

She smiled as they walked down the hall and stopped halfway there and turned to him. “Do you always travel with that many servants?”

“Oh I almost forgot,” he walked back to the door and let in a dozen men and women wearing brightly colored fabrics to keep cool in the intense summer heat. “They are here to move the two most important people in my life to the palace.”

“Pretty sure of yourself weren’t you sheikh?” She laughed and kissed his cheek, handing Rafael over to him.

Raffir kissed his son’s forehead. “No, just always hopeful where you’re concerned.”

Serena walked back to her boys and wrapped them in a hug. “I love you both. So much.” She kissed her two favorite people and knew she would spend the rest of her life making sure her boys knew they were loved and cared for, forever.

Unexpected Fling

Monica Cambridge was new to Los Angeles, she had moved here only a few weeks ago when she’d finally decided that she had had enough of her parents telling her what to do. Her parents had raised her in a small town in Georgia, and they had always been a big factor in her life; all of her decisions were really their decisions. Like where she went to college, what she was allowed to wear, what boys she was allowed to date. Monica had always wanted to be a screenwriter, writing scripts for TV and film, but when she’d told her parents about her dreams of writing famous movies, they had told her to look into a more realistic career choice and pushed her into Journalism at the Georgia State University.

Behind her parents’ backs, Monica had signed up for a few screenwriting courses in her second year, and she’d really enjoyed them. She had never had any desire to be a journalist, and after she had finished her first year, she thought branching out and taking a few courses of something that she was actually passionate about was a great idea. After Monica had finished her second year at Georgia State University, she decided that instead of going back home to live with her parents, that she would pack up and moved to LA on a whim. It was a sudden decision that she had made all on her own, and it was kind of scary being alone in a big city like LA, so far away from home.

Of course, she wasn’t entirely alone; her friend Scarlett from high school had moved out here a few years ago, almost right after they had graduated, so that she could pursue an acting career. Scarlett had always been more outgoing and spontaneous, not caring what others thought of her and always finding her own way through life, creating her own path and her own luck. Monica had always admired Scarlett for her ability to live her life how she wanted to, and one day after when Scarlett called Monica from LA to tell her about a new audition that she landed for the following week, Monica congratulated her and then sighed, telling Scarlett that she wished she could be more like Scarlett and just go after her dreams.

So Scarlett said, “Why don’t you come out here then? You could take your scripts and shop them around to studios Monica, you could really do it!” At first Monica had laughed, but the more she thought about it over the next few days, the more she realized that she could just head out there. She could easily just pack up her car, bring her laptop and her scripts and drive out to LA. The drive would probably take her about 35 hours, and she could stop overnight somewhere along the way. A few days passed and Monica had made up her mind, she was going for it.
