The crowd stilled, expecting dire results. And with every success, David and Skidboot got more invitations, more performances, and yes, more money. It was all they could do to keep up. Calls every day, major networks wanting interviews. Newspapers concocted new stories, wire services spread the stories, and each story built itself into another story. A flood of publicity carried them along, bringing a new network called PAX and its fledgling show,
Animals Are People Too.
The moderator, Alan Thicke, spun exciting stories about special animals, and after watching a few segments, David was convinced that he'd get a call. The call came, the show happened, and almost effortlessly, David and Skidboot sailed toward stardom.
