My family, a constant source of support, joy, and dessert. My husband and daughter, whose conversations over Legos, Wii, and the ridiculous eight-foot inflatable pool kept me laughing and provided the rhythm for many of the fairies’ exchanges. My son, who winked into existence before I’d even completed the first draft, kept me company throughout revisions by pushing on my ribs and sitting on my innards, and arrived the very day I turned in the manuscript.
