“WHAT THE HELL!” Izzy screams from the living room, cutting off Willow’s sentence. She storms back into the kitchen, tears rolling down her bright-red face. “Did you know?”
Abby’s eyes flare. “Did we know what, babe?”
“Did you fucking know?” she sobs, but before anyone has a chance to figure out what she’s talking about, she bolts out of the kitchen and outside.
Willow jumps out of her chair. “I’ve got her.”
Instead of letting her go, all of us stand up at the same time and run after her. “Sage and Sophia, watch the little kids please,” I toss out over my shoulder.
“Izzy!” Abby yells as she runs up the road after her, grabbing her arm to pull her to a stop. She tries to wrap her arms around Izzy but ends up getting pushed away.
“Did you know?” Izzy fists her hands into her hair as she screams. “My life, my entire fucking life has been a lie. Every single one of you has done nothing but lie to me.”
Tuesday, Vanessa, Payton and Willow are all teary-eyed staring at a bawling Izzy and Abby. I’m almost right there with them and I know by the looks on Jameson, Evan and Jason’s faces, that they are having a hard time watching Izzy’s breakdown, too.
“I don’t know if I knew because you won’t tell me what’s going on!” Abby yells. “I can’t make anything better if you don’t tell me what is fucked up!”
Izzy shakes her head back and forth, backing away from us all slowly. I want to run to her, grab her, and shake her until she lets out whatever is freaking her out right now. My feet feel like they’re glued to the ground, though, so I can’t move.
Izzy attempts to wipe the tears off her face but they’re just replaced by new ones as soon as she does. “How could you guys lie to me my entire life?”
“Izzy!” I yell, finally finding my voice. “None of us have kept anything that we know of away from you. So you need to tell us what the hell is going on.”
She pulls her hand away from her mouth to scream at us and pins Abby with her stare. “I can’t believe you guys would keep something like this from me all these years. How could you not tell me about her?”
This may be the end of the Save Me series, but don’t worry, it won’t be the last time you see them. I promise.
Over the past year and a half since I started writing I’ve met so many amazing people. They’ve helped me, pushing me to grow into the person I am today and I doubt they are done. There are far too many people to thank individually so I’m just going to say this…
From the bottom of my little back heart, THANK YOU.
