“I don’t know how much longer I can hold out, sweet Kira,” he said, pulling back to gaze down at her flushed face. Her eyes were hooded and she grinned at him while once more lifting her hips up in invitation.

“I don’t know much about Reestrian mating practices, Alex, but I trust you. I want you to take me right now, please. Claim me as yours.”

He stroked between her legs and found her soaking wet. The next five days passed in a whirl of Alex claiming her again and again, in every possible position she could imagine. They only emerged from his chambers—now their chambers—to forage for food in the kitchen.

Though he’d been quite rough with her the first few times he took her to bed, the following instances were much tenderer. He spent time caressing every part of her body, and damn did the man know how to kiss. Gradually, as the days passed, his fever calmed and by the sixth day his temperature had returned to normal. Most of this last day alone was spent sleeping, and when they awoke it was to the sound of his brothers banging on their chamber door.

“Get dressed, sweet Kira.” He chuckled. “My family is anxious to meet you.” He kissed her hand and tossed a gown at her from her closet.

She caught the garment and rolled her eyes, thinking it much too revealing. It was going to take some getting used to wearing Reestrian clothes all the time, but it was a small price to pay for all the happiness she’d already found on this planet. She hurriedly dressed as Alex put on one of his more casual royal uniforms.

He grasped her hand and kissed the soft underside of her wrist, his eyes darkening as he did so. Then he moved to cup her face and kissed her lips, gently at first, but it soon turned into a most commanding kiss that made her quiver with need. His hardness pressed against her.

“Aren’t you, you know,
exhausted
from the last few days of mating?” she asked with a laugh. The pounding on their door increased, and bawdy calls echoed in the hallway outside.

He grinned down at her and brushed her hair behind her ears. “I will always want you, Kira. Even now that my mating urge has passed, that doesn’t mean your mere presence won’t make me ache to possess you.”

His words provoked a heated tingle between her thighs and she shuddered against him.

“Come, my sweet princess, and I will introduce you to my family. Then perhaps I will go all caveman on you again.” He waggled his eyebrows at her.

She slipped her small hand into his very large one and smiled. “Whatever you say, your royal highness.”
