“So
tell me, how’d you do it. How’d you trick this poor woman to date your sorry, pathetic ass,” he hissed.

Before
Jacob could answer, I spoke. “Hmm, I’m guessing you wear blinders because right now
your
date is drooling over
my
boyfriend. I’d like to say that it’s an honor to meet you, but the truth is I don’t like your movies. You’re cocky and a show off. You walk around like your shit don’t stink. If anyone here had to be dooped, it’s your date. From the looks of it, she’s here not for you, but for everyone else. Now, if you’ll excuse us. I want to dance with my boyfriend that I consider an unbelievable honor to say that about.”

Without
another word, I pulled Jacob toward the floor. Once on the dance floor, he pulled me into his arms. He wasn’t saying anything to me. We just danced closely. After a few minutes, I mustered up the courage to say something.

“I’m
sorry Jacob. I didn’t mean to embarrass you, but I just couldn’t stand by and let him belittle you so much. He sucks and somehow believes that he’s God’s gift to women,” Looking up at him, “I’m-”

His
mouth covers mine tenderly, breaking only a few minutes later. “I’m so damn proud of you. He needed to be put in his place, but nothing worked better than having a woman he couldn’t take his eyes off of tell him he sucked,” he’s laughing harder now. “I owe you big for that.”

“Hey
, he was talking just as badly about me as he was you.”

Leading
me off the dance floor, we take our seats again. His fingers trail the bare skin on my back, sending shivers of pleasure throughout my body. The day moved on. There was so much that happened at these things, it was almost like a work out. We danced so much, never letting me forget about our first dance together. Every time he looked at me, it was like I was the only girl in the room. No one else existed, but us.

Back
in our seats, I rested my head on Jacob’s shoulder with his arm wrapped around mine. I was enjoying this quiet, tender moment with him. His constant touching was driving me insane and I was so wound up that I felt like I could honestly explode from one more kiss.

“Yeah,
I hear he’s paid her a hefty sum to be his date tonight,” Jared said behind us.

Ja
cob’s hand went still on my arm. Jacob wasn’t going to get in trouble tonight I wouldn’t let him. So I stood slowly, turned around and walked toward Jared. Standing only inches from him, I just stared at him.

“I’m
going to say this slowly so you will understand the words that are coming out of my mouth. I’m dating Jacob because he’s an amazing man, loving, caring, and isn’t full of himself. I’m dating Jacob because when he’s near me no one else exists. Never has it been an arrangement, but from the note that your date passed my boyfriend, it seems yours is. If you don’t leave him alone, grow up, and respect others, you’re going to end up without a career because no one is going to want to be around your negativity. Jacob and I are happy. Even you can’t take that from us. Honestly, I could give two shits what you think of mine and Jacob’s relationship but I’ll be damned if I let you run his name in the mud because you can’t measure up.” I turned and started to walk away.

He
grabbed my hand and yanked me back causing me to fall to the floor. Jacob was up and out of his seat, but I stood quickly and put my hands on his chest. This night was supposed to be about us. Even if the ‘us’ part was not exactly true, it was for tonight and I wasn’t letting anyone ruin that for me.

Looking
over my shoulder at Jared, I sneered. “You’re only making yourself look bad.” Turning back I looked at Jacob, “Don’t let him ruin our night, please.”

Ja
cob stood there glaring at Jared with his fists clenched at his sides for a few seconds longer, before finally looking down at me, cupping my face. “Are you okay? Did he hurt you?”

“I’m
fine. I-”

Cutting
me off with a kiss that took my breath away. When he pulled back, my heart skipped a beat. The look in his eyes warmed me. Suddenly, it was way too hot in here. My breath caught in my throat. A low growl escaped his mouth as I lick my lips.

“Maybe
it’s time to call it a night?” He whispered, huskily.

“You
can’t just leave,” I squeaked, my stomach tightening.

“To
have you right now, I’d run off a movie set. Let’s go,” he growled.

Jacob
grabbed my hand and started pulling me toward the exit. I had to practically run to keep up with him. Just as we neared the exit an older gentleman stopped Jacob.
Damn!
As much as I worried about crossing that line with him, God did I ever want it. So badly that I was shaking from need.

Chapter Eight

Jacob

Wilber
Stanely stops me right as I get to the door.
Just my damn luck.
The man could talk blood from a turnip. All I wanted to do was finally claim Vicky. If I had to wait much longer, I just might explode.

“I’m
sorry Mr. Stanley, but my girlfriend was assaulted tonight. If you don’t mind, she’d like to leave.”

“Oh
my word, who would do something like that at such an event? My dear are you okay? You just point out who did that to you and we will take care of it straight away.”

“I’m
fine. He-”

“Jared
has had it out for me for a long time. We all know that. Well, tonight he decided to take it out on my girlfriend complete with knocking her to the floor. I’m taking her away.”

With
that I pulled her out of the door and back outside. Getting the security to call up our limo, I couldn’t stop myself from wrapping her in my arms. She looked so damn beautiful tonight. It’s been hard as hell to keep my hands off her. Sitting at the table, with her hand on my lap and her head on my shoulder was driving me nuts.

“I
have never had a more entertaining evening than I have had tonight. That’s all because of you, Vix. You are a force to be reckoned with.”

“Well
, this night isn’t over yet. It’s about to get a whole lot better,” she breathed, as I ran my hands down her arms.

Unable
to stop myself, I leaned down and took her lips in a passionate kiss that had to end far too soon. The security team told me that my car was on its way up. Biting her lip as I broke away, I smiled down at her. This woman has wormed her way into being a necessity to smile.

We
climb into the limo and just as I sat down in my spot Vicky was climbing in my lap straddling. Her mouth came crashing down on mine, my hands moved into her hair. This is where we’ve been for the past two days. Hot ass make out sessions, but then she freaks out and pulls away. I’m not sure I can handle her pulling away again.

“Fuck
me! You are driving me insane. I need you. Please tell me that I really will have you,” I moaned as she bit my neck and pressed against me.

“Oh
you’ll have me because I can’t wait any longer. I’ve tried to stop this. I can’t do it anymore.”

“Thank
Fuck for that!” I growled.

Wouldn’t
it figure it was at that moment we pulled up at the hotel? She kissed me before climbing off my lap. I climbed out and pulled her out after me. We hurried inside and to the elevator. The minute we were inside, I had her pinned against the wall kissing her like my life depended on it. Vicky wrapped her arms around my waist and pulled me closer. Damn, did she feel good.

Yanking
her from the elevator, I carried her down to my door and set her on her feet leaning against her. “I’m going to devour every single damn inch of you until the sun comes up and then some.”

“Wait,”
she said placing her hands on my shoulders. When I groaned, she laughed, “We need to get out to the cabin before we do anything. If we start here we’ll never leave and we need to get out there. When we get there, then and only then will you have me. Let’s change. Clothes have already been sent there. Just a little while longer, it’ll be worth it.”

I
opened the door, not hiding my disappointment. “Fine, hurry up,” I grumbled.

We
changed our clothes and were out in my car heading south on the highway. GPS was set for the destination and according to it, there was another three hours to wait. My grip on the steering wheel tightened. Just when I was going to be able to taste her, feel her, see her, she had to pull the rug out from under me again.

Her
hand squeezed my thigh and I groaned. “I promise, it will be worth it,” her hand ran up my thigh and over my constant erection. “Just like the shower, only better.”

The
car jerks and I have to work to correct it. “What do you mean like the shower?”

Instead
of answering me, she slowly unzips my pants then unbuttoned them. Vicky reached her hand inside. My whole body quivered as her hand touched my cock. The cool air from the car as it mixed with the heat of her hand on my exposed flesh, sent goose bumps over my entire body. Stroking slowly, I couldn’t stop the urge to close my eyes. So I pulled over on the side of the road just as she lowered her head down. Vicky’s tongue flicked out across my head. Moaning loudly, I tangled my hands in her hair.

“Damn,
Vix,” I groaned.

She
hummed around my cock, reverberating through my whole body. Her hand worked my shaft fiercely. No longer able to keep myself still, I began to thrust into her delectable mouth. Her tongue massaging the bottom of my shaft and swirling her tongue around the head with each thrust, it felt so fucking good.

Vix, oh Vicky, I’m close. Shit!”

Just
then she pushes down, taking me back to her throat, clenching around my cock in a way I’ve never felt before. My hands gripped her head tightly and I held her in place as I thrust into her mouth uncontrollably.

“Fuck!
Vicky!” I roared as my whole body began to spasm as wave after intense wave came over me.

Slowly,
the spasms began to recede. I released the hold I had on her head. She sat back in her seat with a smile on her face and a few tear streaked down her cheeks. After correcting myself, I pulled her over on my lap and held her tightly. Something shifted in my chest, expanded almost.

“Did
I hurt you?”

She
shook her head in my chest. “Not at all. Will that tide you over until we get there?”

“You
didn’t have to do that.”

“I
know, but it was bothering me just as much as it was you.”

“Well,
let me-”

“Nope,”
she climbed off my lap and buckled up. “That was just as much for me as it was for you.”

After a moment of looking at her, something came back to me that she had said.

“What did you mean ‘just like the shower’?”

Her laughter filled the car and reached into a deep part of me that was beginning coming to life since being with Vicky. She turned and grinned a cat ate the canary grin at me.

“I knew it wasn’t a damn fantasy! Why’d you run off?”

She shrugged. “I don’t know,” she said softly.

For a moment, I said nothing and just watched her. She looked awfully unsure of herself and even guilty. It hit me then.

“You were ashamed of what you did.”

“I’ve prided myself on my professionalism, but when I’m around you I can’t seem to remember that. Then I saw you watching me with so much concern and kindness. It was my way to say thank you for something you didn’t seem to want me to see.”

“Let me thank you, before we get back out on the road,” I breathed.

She just laughed at me and shook my head. Damn this woman was going to kill me, I can feel it.

After
a few more minutes of trying to get her to give in, I pulled back out on the road and took off toward the new place I’d call home for a while. I was honestly freaking out about this, but as I looked at the sleeping beauty resting on my shoulder, something told me it will all be worth it. The problem will be making it through it all to see the brighter picture on the other side. The process is what scared me.

She
shifted and lay down in my lap. I sighed as I brushed her hair from her face. Today she’d looked so beautiful, almost princess like. But the way she looked right now, all natural, she’d never looked more beautiful. I think the thing that is her sexiest feature, she isn’t afraid to tell me what’s on her mind. She had opinions and could hold a conversation.

That
thought had me laughing. Carson’s ex-girlfriend cracked me up. Her idea of a conversation was clothes, make-up or shoes. If you tried to talk to her about anything intelligible she’d freak out on you. Her excuse?
‘Like seriously all the icky stuff is like…well, it like gives me a rash.’

Honestly, I’m shocked Carson lasted with her as long as he did. I couldn’t stand to be near her for five minutes. Even my amazing, kind hearted, parents couldn’t help but grit their teeth and roll their eyes at her. Carson defended her. Honestly, I think he wanted to find something there. I think he was tired of the rat race and just wanted to settle down. The problem was, and we all knew this, she wasn’t it. Now, though, he finally has Colleen and a beautiful little girl. That little girl is going to break a lot of hearts one day.

Kayla
was due real soon. It made me nervous to be so far away from her during such a major event in her life. Jason is a good man. I couldn’t have picked a better man for my sister, but damn it, she was my little sister. For so long she shut me out, all of us, but we had always been so close. We had our own little connection. If anything were to happen to her or the baby because I was…

Shaking
my head, I kept a clear head. I was getting clean to be there for her and the baby. To be the man for them that she looked up to and could count on again. I owed it to her.

I
continued to stroke her hair as I drove toward our destination. She made these cute little noises in her sleep when I hit a bump. The smirk on her face had me hoping that I would bring those to her face one day. That memories of our time together would make her smile or seeing me come into her room would light up her face. To be missed by someone other than family, to be needed in a bed at night…that’s something I’ve always wanted, but know not to ever reach for.

Quickly
and carefully I dug in my pocket, when I heard my phone start ringing.

“Williams.”

“Hey saw you and Vicky on the television today. You were really steaming up the camera.”

“Yeah,
well, camera adds an extra five pounds of steam.” I joked.

Danger
laughed. “How you doing man?”

“To
be honest, I’m scared, but I know I need to do this. It’s time to do this.”

“Vicky’s
good. I wouldn’t have told you to go to her if she wasn’t. You’ll make it through all the better. I know we haven’t known each other long, but I don’t want to see you like that again man.”

“Oh
, the Jackass has a heart,” I teased.

“Don’t
push it dick. I turn dark quicker than you blink,” he growled.

“Dude
, you need to get laid.”

“Who
says I haven’t.”

“Please.
The pitch of your voice right there just told me,” I laughed.

“Yeah,
well, chicks up here are slim pickings for what I like.”

“Nah
, you just need to know where to look.” I tell him as I look down at Vicky sleeping in my lap. “In a place you’d never expect it. Are you doing what I asked?”

“Yeah.
Are you sure sending him to Australia is going to be far enough?”

“Mare
said Australia was a place he’s always dreamed of going one day. I’m hoping she knows him well enough.”

“But
man, one month is costing you a pretty penny.”

“Nate
is family, Danger. If you needed to get away, any of us would do the same for you even if we don’t know you that well.”

“Well
, in that case,” Danger started to joke before he trails off. “He’ll leave in two weeks. You sure you’re going to be up to getting him to the airport. I can do it for you instead.”

“I’ll
be fine. It needs to be me.”

“Yeah.
Shit, I need to go there’s that girl again. I’m going to catch her.”

“Maybe
that’s the girl you’ve been looking for,” I teased.

This
girl has been slipping through his fingers ever since he ran into her in a men’s restroom a few weeks ago. My guess is that this is why he’s gruffer than usual and for his dry streak. I really pity that girl if he does catch her.

“Oh
, she’ll be strapped to my bed while I get my fill of her. Only then will I set her free,” he laughed.

Yeah, sure you will.”

“That
woman is in for one rough ride when I get a hold of her hot ass!”

With
that he hung up the phone on a curse. Laughing, I tucked my phone back in my pocket. I drove the rest of the way lost in my thoughts.
