“Hey,
how about we go dancing tonight?” I ask looking between them
and they both shrug. “Jesus, you guys are twenty one not ninety
one.”

Knox
laughs. “Okay darlin’, where do you want to go?”

Now
I shrug because I only know of one club and that is Glow in Marion.
“I don’t know you guys live here longer than me I am sure
you know of places.” Our lunch arrives and Knox checks his
phone.

“How
would we know about clubs? We work all the time.” he asks
tapping away on the screen.

“Yeah
right, you two are players,” I scoff at him, making his head
snap up and he frowns.

“No,
we’re not.” Max and I laugh at the same time. “Okay,
so maybe when we were eighteen but now we are both tied down.”
He shakes his head sighing.

“Douche,”
I say, picking up my chicken sandwich.

“Hey
Black’s is opening tonight. Want to go there?”

Max
jumps. “Hell yes. Is Tony still the manager?” Knox nods
and holds up his finger while he makes a call.

“What’s Black’s?”
I ask looking at Max who just grins and wiggles his eyebrows. I hear
Knox agreeing to be there at nine and joking with the person on the
phone about ‘hot ass chicks’ finally he hangs up.

“Okay,
tonight at nine. We have a VIP room.” Max and Knox fist bump,
both smiling.

“So I hope those hot ass
chicks you were referring to were Paige and I” I smile at him.

“Of
course darlin’.” He winks at me.

After
lunch we meet Paige back at campus. She drags her feet over to Max
and drapes herself on him.

“I
am so tired,” she says into his chest.

Max
laughs wrapping his arm around her. “Come on Angel, we are
going clubbing tonight.”

She
instantly perks up. “Really, where?”

I
laugh at her. “Some place called Black’s.”

Her
jaw drops. “No shit! Seriously?”

I
nod. “Yes.”

“I
have always wanted to go there. How did we get in? I thought it was
‘exclusive.’” She air quotes the last word.

“It
is, but Knox knows the owner,” Max tells her.

“How
do you know the owner? Don’t tell me it’s an ex.”

He
laughs at me. “No darlin’. I did some work for him a few
years ago.” We get back to the apartment and wave at Max and
Paige.

“Oh
Bailey, don’t wear white underwear,” she calls laughing.

“Why
can’t I?” I ask Knox, who grins like he has a secret. I
follow him through the door. “Come babe, don’t leave me
hanging.” Shaking his head, he draws his fingers across his
lips in a zipping motion. “Okay, so you are going to let me
get embarrassed? No worries I’ll go commando,” I call
walking away from him.

“What! No way darlin’.”
Scooping me up into his arms, he throws me onto the bed. “You
are wearing clothes and lots of them. I don’t want other guys
seeing my woman,” he growls, tickling me. My feet kick
uselessly as he straddles me.

“Okay,
tell me why then.”

He
shakes his head no. “Just listen to Paige,” he tells me,
leaning down kissing me. “Now I need a nap. Want to join?”
he purrs against my neck knowing we will not be sleeping.

“No
babe, I’ll save myself for tonight.”

He
pulls back, looking down at me. “We can do that too.”

Laughing
I wrap my arms around his neck. “Nope.”

Standing,
he pulls me up with him. “You’re a mean girlfriend,”
he says biting my lower lip.

“No
babe, just saving the best for last.” Knox groans, letting go
and flopping onto the bed. “You have a headache?” Bending
down I inspect his face.

“No,”
he sighs. “I have an ache somewhere else.”

Rolling
my eyes, I slap his chest pulling him off the bed. “So any
news?” I ask, filling the coffee maker.

“No
darlin’. How about you? How’s the eye? What did the doc
say?”

I
put the pot into the coffee maker and press the button. “Not
much, just that it’s not healing like it should and there is
some swelling still.”

He
rubs his face with his hand. “Is it going to be okay?” I
nod.

“Good, because I don’t
think I could date Captain Jack Sparrow.” He laughs at my
glare.

“You
are so not getting any tonight,” I sing stopping his laughter.

By
six o’clock, I am ready to go. I took Paige’s warning and
wore all black including my new dress, a black satin off the shoulder
dress to mid thigh with a layer of black lace over it.

Knox
whistles at me. “Wow darlin’, is that new?”

Smiling,
I nod. “Yes it is. Thanks.” I watch him get dressed in
black jeans with a white fitted button up shirt. “Thought we
couldn’t wear white?” I ask as he puts on his watch.

“You
can if you want but I don’t recommend it for underwear.”
Holding out his hand, I stand taking it. “Now we need our
sunglasses too.” Taking his glasses I put them in my purse.
What the heck kind of nightclub needs sunglasses? This place better
be good or I will kick someone’s butt.

We
meet Max and Paige in the Italian restaurant for dinner. Paige is
wearing black too and so is Max.

“So
I guess lover boy here is the only one to wear white.” Knox
smiles at me. “So Paige why do we need our sunglasses?”

She
frowns at me. “I don’t know. I have never been to his
place. I have only heard rumors.” We order our dinner while I
think about this club; it sounding kind of weird.

“What rumors?” I ask
a few minutes later.

Paige
leans over the table to me. “Well it’s supposed to be all
X rated and dark.” I look over at Knox wondering just what kind
of work he did for the owner of such a place.

“Babe,
is this club legit?”

He
stops his fork mid way to his mouth. “What do you mean?”

“It’s
not like a sex club or anything, right?” Both he and Max laugh
at me.

“No
darlin’. I wouldn’t bring you to a sex club.”

For
some reason I don’t believe him. “You sure?”

Leaning
down, he looks at me. “I promise, Bailey. I would never do that
to you, and besides I don’t go to sex clubs. I have what I need
at home even if she is holding out.” He winks sitting back in
his chair.

After
dinner we walk downtown and stop by a building. It’s a very
non- descript looking place, but we stop by a door that has graffiti
on it and a gold plaque with the name ‘Black’s’ on
the wall like it’s a dentist office. Knox bangs on the door and
a very large guy in a suit and sunglasses opens it.

“Name, password?” he
says looking at us.

“Porter,
prince charming.” I laugh at the password and the guy looks at
me then motions us inside. We walk down a tiny corridor.

“What’s with the
password?” I ask holding onto Knox.

“Just
an old joke.”

Max
laughs from behind me “Yeah bro, why don’t you tell her?
Afraid she will kick your ass?”

Knox
stops walking and turns to Max. “Shut up, Max.” But Max,
only laughs harder, and hides behind Paige. Knox grabs my hand and we
walk down a flight of stairs where I can hear the beat of music
thumping through the walls. We stop before another door with an
equally large guy.

“Sunglasses.”
Knox holds out his hand opening my purse I give him his then slip on
my own.

Large man number two opens the
door and we walk inside. Looking around, I see two levels. We are on
the top, which has a stairwell leading down to the dance floor that
is crowded. The only lights are UV and a strobe light flashing to the
beat of the music. I catch a glimpse of a girl on the dance floor who
wore white under her dress and now I know why I was told not to.

“Prince
charming, long time no see” I hear from beside me. Turning we
are met by a man dressed in a suit who shakes Knox’s hand.

“So
I kept your old room free for you.” The guy smiles and winks at
Knox while Max laughs behind me. We follow him into a room that has
dark red walls with a sofa the length of one wall and a low glass top
table in front of it. There is a huge mirror on the opposite wall
above a small bar stocked with drinks, glasses, and snacks. The guy
looks at my hand in Knox’s and smiles.

“I’m
Tony, nice to meet you.”

Holding
out his hand I shake it. “Bailey.” I smile back as he
takes me in.

“Bailey,
huh? Don’t think we have met before.” He glances at Knox
then at me,

“She
is my girlfriend, Tony,” Knox tells him.

“What?
Prince charming found Cinderella?”

Knox
laughs at Tony. “Leave her alone.”

Tony
laughs back and nods at him. “Okay, well enjoy. Call me if you
need anything. I won’t send a waitress, you guys know what to
do.” He leaves the room closing the door behind him.

Paige
opens the glass sliding door onto a balcony, letting the noise into
the room.

“So
prince charming?” I say, wrapping my arms around his neck.

“Yes?”

“Don’t
play with me, spill it.”

He
kisses me softly. “I was in here working and most of the staff
wouldn’t leave me alone so he started calling me that.”

I
scoff at his weak attempt to get me off the trail. “If you say
so, but I think it’s for another reason altogether.”

Max
brings us a drink. “Here, shots all round,” he calls. We
do the shots and then another one for good measure.

“Okay
babe, let’s dance.” I grin, dragging Knox on the dance
floor and squash in with all the other writhing bodies.

Knox
holds my hips as I dance for him. Pulling me close, our bodies move
together his hands never leaving me, and his lips seeking out mine.
“Damn darlin’,” he groans as I move my hips against
his. Turning me around so my back is at his chest, we dance for
another while.

“Do you want a drink?”
I nod and we go back up to the room to find Max and Paige getting
busy on the couch. Knox and I laugh while he makes us a drink. Taking
my hand we walk out onto the balcony watching all the bodies below.

“You
having fun, beautiful?”

I
nod smiling at him. “Yeah babe thanks for bringing me.”
He kisses me deeply, snaking his hand up the back of my dress until
his fingers tangle in my hair.

“I
need to tell you something,” he says pulling away.

“What?
You dated half the female staff members,” I tease, running my
fingers along the waistband of his jeans.

“No,”
he laughs. “Later when we get home” I nip his lip then
wrap my arms around him. I Sip my drink and chase it with another
shot before we go back to dancing. Finally Max and Paige join us.
Knox and I are sweating; his shirt clings to him and I can make out
some of his tattoos. I get an elbow in the ribs.

“Ouch!”

Knox
pulls me to him and off the dance floor. “You okay, darlin’?”
I nod as we arrive back in the room and sit on the sofa.

“Let
me see” Knox pulls up my dress.

“Knox.”

I
try pulling it down but he won’t let me until he checks my ribs
and kisses each one. He pulls my dress down then crashes his lips to
mine as his hand finds its way back up my dress, his fingers sliding
deep inside me. Moaning, I hold him tight to me fisting my hand in
his hair as his fingers bring me over the edge. He trails kisses down
my neck. Closing my eyes I enjoy his body over mine planting soft
kisses along my collarbone.

“I
love you darlin.”

“I
love you too,” I whisper to him.

We
move off the sofa and get another drink just as Max and Paige walk
in. We drink another round of shots then Paige and I dance in the
room where my ribs will be safe. By the end of the night we are all a
bit tipsy. Tony comes into the room to say goodbye to us and invites
us back again.

Leaving
the club, we are met with warm spring air. Knox wraps his arm around
my shoulders as we walk up the street.

“Hot
dog,” Paige sings when we reach the hot dog guy.

“Hey
legs, where have you been?” he asks as I stop by the wall with
Knox covering me. “I want to rip that dress off you,” he
whispers, resting his forehead against mine.

“In
a few minutes, babe, but no ripping. It was expensive,” I
chuckle. We eat our dogs walking home. “That was fun,” I
say smiling, “but I need to know why you are really called
prince charming,” I ask Knox, making Max choke on his food.

“Drop
it,” Knox warns, which makes me ask again and again. “Okay,
fine. I dated some of the waitresses,” he finally tells me.

“Holy
crap, you are a player. I knew it, I knew the minute I saw your
handsome face.” I shake my head at him. “Now I’ll
have to dump your ass.”

“Jesus
darlin’, tell me how you really feel,” he moans grabbing
my hand.

“I
just did. I don’t date players; they only rip your heart out
and give it to the next girl to stomp on.”

Knox
stops and stares at me. “Are you serious?” I nod walking
away making him chase me. “Are you breaking up with me over
something that happened in the past?”

Shrugging
I walk on. “How far in the past?” I ask dragging out his
suffering.

“Two
years ago,” he answers quickly taking my hand in his, his eyes
searching my face. Max and Paige are just standing watching. “Darlin’
please, what the fuck, it was the past.” He sounds panicked and
runs his hands through his hair. His eyes are huge green orbs staring
at me.

Stepping
close to him I scowl at him “Knox Porter you are,” I
pause watching him brace himself for whatever I am about to do to
him, “So easy to play.” I shake my head at him and he
grabs me around the waist throwing me over his shoulder.

“You
are going to pay for that,” he growls at me. Walking into our
building I wave to Max and Paige before I disappear into the door.
Knox throws me on the bed climbing on top of me already pulling off
his shirt.

“Now
darlin’, you owe me.”

Leaning
down he unzips my dress I wiggle out of it as his eyes fill with lust
taking in all of my body.
