“Don’t worry, I won’t choke.” She promised him and then decided to turn the tables on him, “When you taught me how to suck your cock I didn’t choke, too much, now did I?” She had only wanted to please him, give him as much joy and pleasure as she received.

“Once you learned to relax and breathe through your nose, nope,” he shook his head. “That was hot by the way,” he murmured. “The way you’d slide me in, swallow around the head and rub your tongue all around me, fucking hot.”

“I can’t wait to do it again,” Daisy admitted. “I loved the look on your face, or when you would reach out and grab my hair and rock on me. God I loved that.” She was so sunk and she knew it. She loved this man. Good lord she loved him and wanted him back. Damn-it.

“Well I’d say anytime you want, but your daughter is about five feet away and getting closer with a look on her face. She may have overheard a little more of that than is good for a girl her age,” he murmured tipping his bottle back to finish the last of the beer. “Either that or she’s got another idea in her head.”

“Oh lord that’s the ‘hey mom can we’ look.” Daisy groaned and turned to Honey. Grinning she said, “Hey baby, what’s happening?”

“Mom, do we have to leave tonight? They have to leave tomorrow, and I wanna spend every second I can with my two dads, please?”

“You have school tomorrow Honey. No. I’m sorry. I would like to spend more time with them as well, but no baby. And do not ask again or we will leave earlier.”

“Okay.” Honey kicked the dirt with her toe and sighed. “I’m going back to daddy Gareth, they are about to start to tell ghost stories.” She said and skipped away happily.

Daisy smiled, “She’s happy. I’m very glad that she asked Penny to find you, and I’m glad she found you guys. I just wish she would have been around ten years ago.”

“We can’t undo the past D, we can only move forward knowing the mistakes made and ensuring we don’t make the same ones again. Or at least without doing them up a hell of a lot better,” he said with a grin. “I wish you guys were staying tonight too. I’m going to miss tucking her in. She’s a little wheeler and dealer at bedtime.”

“Oh that child could talk a Dalmatian out of his spots, do not doubt that for one moment. She’s so used to getting her way that when she’s told the word ‘no’ it shocks her for a moment. But she doesn’t throw a fit. She steps back, reevaluates, and comes back with an alternate request. It’s really scary how her mind works sometimes.”

Chuckling he nodded, “I’ve seen that in action. She’s tried to get around me a time or two over the weekend. Apparently I’m the hard ass out here. The rest of these buggers just give her whatever the hell she wants. Hell, Victor and Antonio have been assisting her in figuring ways around me all weekend. It’s hard enough having one working on me, but I was feeling seriously outnumbered at times.”

She snickered and shook her head, “Don’t worry Mik, I will always have your back.” Daisy assured him. “If they get out of hand I will have a personal and up close conversation with the men. Right before I have a come to Jesus moment with our daughter.”

“She’s a good kid, but definitely testing the boundaries with me,” he chuckled. “Don’t worry about it D, if she pushes too far I’ll set her straight. She’s learning my limits pretty quick, and hasn’t pushed too far amazingly enough. But you may want to talk to Gareth. I refuse to be the ogre in this relationship while he’s the kiss ass.”

“Good. I will talk to him as well and make sure that he tightens up on her. And you wouldn’t be alone. She knows how far she can push me and won’t push any further; so it’s good that you have given her that same defined line as well. She needs it, trust me she definitely needs it.”

“Can’t imagine why,” he murmured and then grinned at her look. “I think all kids, especially single children without siblings, tend to test the boundaries more. They have the sole attention and therefore figure they can get away with bloody murder.”

“That’s the truth. That’s why I am as strict on her as I am. She has to learn her boundaries now before she can get into trouble because of them, pure and simple truth.” She shrugged and added, “I will talk to her Mikhail. You talk to them too, please?”

“I have, trust me I have, but apparently that kid,” he pointed at Honey, “now outranks me around this place. There is just no love in the brotherhood anymore. It’s all been wiped out by a pair of big grey eyes and a soulful look that sucks all their manhood right out their pores.”

Daisy smirked, “I warned you. That kid does it and knows it. She knows just how to work it. Well, with some people.” A frown crossed Daisy’s face. “There are some that are just plain assholes and will never understand what an amazing child that she is. People who are mean because she has two fathers, not one. I think that’s part of why she is the way that she is, because she’s had to deal with so much bullshit in her short life.”

“She was telling me about it,” Mikhail said softly. Moving a hand to her back he rubbed gently, “She told me about the kids and their parents and a couple of teachers. We had a good discussion about some of that and hopefully she’s better off for it. Sadly she wouldn’t give me names,” he muttered clenching his jaw.

“Yeah, I know their names. Listen in on her dreams. She talks in her sleep and she gives up absolutely everything in her dreams. I had to have her removed from one class because the narcissistic bitch thought that all women should be barefoot and pregnant instead of having real careers in life. Moronic idiot.”

“Mmm, yes. That one was mentioned and I more or less reinforced what you told her about that archaic thought pattern. She seemed happy enough to have my point of view on the subject fall in line with yours ,and we got onto happier topics,” Mik told her honestly.

“Thank you for that. Backing me up without even realizing it. And then we have the man that fathered me.” She sighed and shook her head. “He still spits at us, curses at us, and we have both learned to simply cross to the other side of the street. I don’t care that he hates me, but his hatred for Honey just kills me.”

“He’d better pray he never tries that shit when I’m around or any of the guys are,” Mikhail wrapped his arm around her and pulled her in closer. “I warned them about that in case Honey said anything to them and we’re all on the same fucking page with him.”

“It’s better to just ignore him,” Daisy said sadly. “It’s his loss. She’s such an amazing child and I think that’s part of why she’s so interested in all your men and adopted them all, because she’s starved for male affection; the good kind, not the kind that’s going to get her knocked up. She’s starved for male familial affection.”

“We know that babe, but I will only put up with so much in this life for you and for her. When it comes to you two, if someone is being that disrespectful and just plain rude, they need an adjustment of their views,” he said. “Don’t argue with me, you won’t change my mind on it.”

“Okay.” Daisy relented. “Thank you Mikhail. For all that you do for me, for all that you’ve done for Honey. For, well for being you.” She said softly and leaned into him. “I’m glad you came back into my life.”

“I’m sure you won’t always be saying that,” he commented softly. Resting his cheek to her hair he rubbed his hand up and down her arm. “If you recall, we butted heads more than once that forty-eight hours we were together.”

“Yeah but it was always so much fun the way that you made up to me and I to you. That was truly the stuff for, well it was great.” She didn’t want to say more because Honey was far too close. “Are you going to be okay, while you are gone that is? The mission; it’s nothing too dangerous?”

“No, it’s a bunch of paperwork mainly,” he said before tipping his head. “Come with me a couple more feet away and I’ll explain.” Standing up he moved a little further from the fire and sat down on a log.

Daisy moved with him, settling at his side and then a little closer to gain more of his heat. “All right Mikhail, spill it. What’s really going on? Why do I feel as if I’m really, really not going to like what I hear?”

“You’re probably not,” he muttered keeping his voice low. “Apparently there’s some new threat; not sure of the details exactly so I’m not even going to go there. But the Colonel asked us all to come in and see if we are viable candidates for a new program the military and government are starting up to help counter and hopefully end this threat. We’re going in for testing and more testing. If it’s all viable and we agree to it we will all go into surgery in just over a weeks’ time to have a piece of technology put into our heads down near the spine at the base of the skull. What it does, no clue. It’s part of what we’re going to find out when we get there tomorrow. If we go through with it though D we’ll likely be out of commission and contact for upwards of a month.”

“Oh, wow. A month?” She whispered and then shook her head. “Would you be able to at least call me, or text me and let me know if you were okay? I don’t like to worry and I would. That and Honey would drive me nuts every single day that you guys were gone and there was no contact. Or would you all be in comas or something for that time?” A month? Experimental tech? She so didn’t like that, at all.

“Don’t know D,” he said quietly. “We’ll know more after the meeting and then we’ll do the tests and from there we’ll come home for a time. We’ll have a week after all the testing and such to make the final decision since we’ll have all the facts then. But from the sounds of it we’ll only be out of it, if it’s successful mind you, for about two days. From there it can be arranged for communication via calls or texts.”

“I would like that. I don’t want to lose you again,” Daisy admitted softly. Reaching up she put her hand on his shoulder and then lay her head there and let her arm drape around his back. “I’ve missed you too much to lose you again.”

“We’re not going to make the decision alone D,” he said lifting her up into his lap. Wrapping his arms around her he held her to him, “You’re a part of our lives and will have a say in it too; at least where Gareth and I are concerned. We don’t want to lose you either.”

“I’m glad.” She admitted and moved in a bit closer, “I’m cold. I suggest that you open your jacket for me so that I can wrap my arms around you and warm up that way?” She asked with a grin on her face. “I recall just how warm you were, are, and I would love to share some of that heat if you don’t mind sharing it?”

Leaning back Mik unzipped his jacket and spread it open for her to press in closer to him. Wrapping the jacket around her as much as he could he then wrapped his arms around her. “I never mind sharing my heat,” he said softly pressing a kiss to her hair.

“You are a giving man,” Daisy murmured as she rested there against him. “Do you think that it’s possible for us to start again? Leave the past behind and begin again?” She knew she was being too easy but the truth was that she loved these men, loved this man, and she didn’t want to be without them in her life.

“If you are willing I am,” he said softly. “I’ve missed you Daisy and would do anything, give anything to have you in my life again; even if it is only to harass and pester me to pick up my socks,” Mikhail smiled slightly.

“Do you still have that issue Mik?” She asked with a smile and snuggled in closer, rubbing her cheek to the side of his neck. “I’ve missed this so much. You even still smell the same.” She whispered quietly and brushed her lips to his neck.

“Yes, I still have trouble with the socks when I bother to wear them and therefore must pull them off. They just don’t have enough weight to make it where I throw them, so it’s not my fault that they land willy nilly all over the floor,” he told her with a shrug.

“I tried telling you honey that all you have to do is wrap them together in a ball and toss them.” Her hands wrapped around him tightly, hands moving up and down his back and smiled. “I love feeling your hands on me as well. Too bad I have to get the kiddo home tonight, or I could stay here like this all night long.”

Growling softly he nipped her neck, “You talk like that and touch me like you are, and then say you’re going home? Really not fair D. I should just throw you over my shoulder and haul you off to one of the many rooms in that house and have my wicked way with you until you have to leave.”

Daisy grinned and looked up at him, “Do you think that they would miss us?” She was totally and completely down with that. She missed the man so much that she was more than willing to head off into the darkness with him.
