About the Editor

Richard Rhodes is the author or editor of more than twenty works of history, biography and fiction. His biography
John James Audubon: The Making of an American
was published in 2004. His 1986 history of the development of the first atomic bombs,
The Making of the Atomic Bomb
, won a Pulitzer Prize in Nonfiction and a National Book Award. A Kansas native, he lives in Northern California.
