“Keep your palms flat and your left leg down.” I took her right ankle in my hand. “I’m going to lift this leg to deepen your stretch.”

“That’s new.”

“The exercises I’m testing today are for a possible partner work out. Some PNF stretching and yoga moves.”

“Sounds interesting.” Her balance was impressive. “That feels good.” She exhaled a deep breath when I raised her leg. “This one will be popular with couples who like to work out together.”

“You think so?” I rested her right foot back to the floor and repeated the move with her left leg. “Honestly, I didn’t think I could concentrate for very long with you in these positions.”

“So I’m not a candidate for the job?”

“What job?” I stretched out her leg. “In the DVD?” I’d never thought she’d be interested in filming one of my infomercials but she’d be perfect. “You’d want to do that?” I set her foot back on the floor? “Take it to the floor and rest in child’s pose for a few seconds.”

“I was just kidding.” She rested on her knees, folding her body to the floor. “But if you were doing the couples DVD than I’d have to be your partner.”

Now there was an idea. The marketing on that would be a no-brainer. People would buy it just to see me and my girl. I’d have to put that plan in motion.

“I like it.” I dropped behind her and pressed her deeper into the floor, helping her release any tension in her shoulders. “If this idea works I’ll definitely look into us filming the DVD.”

“Really?” She giggled. “That would be pretty cool. My friends would never believe I would be starring in a Team Ky program.”

“It would be an epic way to introduce you to my followers. They would love you.”

“That business head is always thinking of ways to market, isn’t it?”

“Princess, you don’t get where I am by doing things the way everyone else does them.” I traced my fingers down her spine, stopping just above her firm ass. “Come up on all fours for me.”

Once she did as I requested, I knew the session was over. She was far too tempting and I was way too aroused not to obey my cock.

“I thought I could workout with you but it’s not gonna happen.”

“It’s not?”

“No.” I tugged at her shorts, indicating I wanted them off.

“Why?” She glanced at me from over her shoulder, still on all fours.

“Because I want to be inside you morning, noon and night.”

“You’re insatiable.” She rolled over and let me take off her bottoms. “It’s one of my favorite qualities about you.”

“Is it.” I wiggled out of my pants. “Do you know your willingness to have sex with me whenever I want is one of my favorite qualities about you?”

“What a coincidence.” She lifted her flexible leg and rested it against my chest.

“Oh, you wanted it like that?” I scooted closer to her, staying on my knees I inched inside her.

“Since this is supposed to be a work out you might as well stretch me.”

“I wonder how many DVD’s we could sell if we incorporated sex into our routine?” I shifted my hips and fully sheathed myself inside her warm, wet pussy. “Fuck...”

“Oh... I think that’s a completely different industry.”

“Hmm, how’s that feel for you, beautiful?”

“No words,” she gasped when I slammed as far as her body would allow.

Running my hand up and down her leg, I pumped in and out of her, gazing down and enjoying the show. “Can I take this leg too?”

“Please.”

Carefully lifting her left leg, I rested it against my chest so that both of her legs where braced against me. “So fucking deep.” In this angle my balls were pressed against her ass. The benefits of a nimble woman. The position I could take her in were endless.

“Ky...” she clenched around my cock, willing me to move faster. I grasped her ankles in my hands and slowly spread her legs wide. “Oh my God,” she screamed as she squirmed beneath me. “Harder.”

I rocked my hips as I opened and closed her legs, repeating this passage until the warmth of her release coated my cock. Releasing her legs, I moved on top of her because I needed to be closer to her. “Kiss me,” I demanded. “Kiss me while I come inside you.”

She took my face between her hands and slowly licked my mouth before shoving her tongue between my lips. Biting and sucking on my lips between deep, passionate kisses. Wrapping her legs around my waist, I stilled my motion and let go deep within her, yelling out her name as I came in long, hot spurts.

“Mmm...” she moaned. “I’ll definitely star in that DVD with you.”

“That might be one we have to keep in our own private library.” I lifted up and grinned at her. “Want to do porn with me?”

“I think we just did.” She leaned up and kissed me but our moment was interrupted by the doorbell. “They have poor timing.”

“Tell me about it.” I rolled off her, tempted to let whoever it was wait until I was ready but they rang the bell again.  “I’ll get the door.” I pulled up my sweatpants, already cursing the intruder on my front porch. I swear to God if it was Caden I was going to... The doorbell chimed throughout the house again.

“Whoever it is, they’re impatient.” She sat up, searching for her bottoms.

“You put yourself back together.” Tossing her panties at her, I stole one more look at her thoroughly sexed up body. “You might need those.”

“Maybe I’ll just prance around without them.”

“You do that and you’re not going to be able to walk for three days.”

“Promises, promises.”

I laughed on my way up from the basement. That woman had totally thrown me for a loop. Never in my life had I ever been so taken by anyone. Sex had always been an ending for me. Not with Jenna. Every time we were together, I couldn’t wait for the next time. The thrill of being with her was like none I’d ever experienced.

“Hell!” I yelled at my intruder who had now taken to banging on the door. “I’m coming.” Fucking idiot. Pulling the door open, I yelled, “What’s so...”

Fuck... Aimee.

“Hey, Kyler.” She smiled as if she was showing up for a date. “Can I come in?”

“What do you want?” How could she just show up here after all this time?

“What do you think I want?” She held up the rag sheet that had featured me and Jenna at the marina enjoying lunch with Mason a few weeks ago. The same article where I insinuated that we were a family. They hadn’t asked if Jenna was his mother, and frankly I didn’t care if they thought she was. Jenna was more his mother than this woman standing before me could ever be. “What the hell is this?”

“A tabloid?”

“It’s all over the internet too. How dare you make people think your latest slut is his mother.”

“Don’t call her that.” I gritted my teeth, trying hard to remind myself that no matter what I thought about this woman, she was still the one who gave birth to my son. Without her I wouldn’t have him.

“Seriously? She’s not even the girl who paraded downstairs in your shirt the morning I brought Mason here.”

“You dumped Mason here.”

“That’s not the point. That was only a few weeks ago and now you’re with someone else. How many have there been since Mason has been with you.”

“It was more than a few weeks ago.” I leaned against the doorframe. “Try eight weeks. Eight fucking weeks you haven’t checked on your child. What kind of mother does that?”

“You have no idea what kind of mother I am.”

“How could I?” I threaded my fingers through my hair, trying to stay calm in a ridiculously heated situation. “You didn’t tell me you were pregnant, you didn’t tell me when he was born and then you just left him with me. I wasn’t prepared. I had no idea what to do, but unlike you I stepped up and did what I had to do. You don’t get to come here and judge me.”

“I’m not judging you, but how do you think I felt when I saw this?” She held that stupid paper in front of me. “He’s mine.”

“You lost that privilege eight weeks ago.”

“What does that mean?”

“It means I’ve petitioned the court for full custody. When you left him, you abandoned him. When I couldn’t find you, that only made my case stronger.” I stepped back, pulling the door shut, but she wedged her foot between the door and the frame.

“Don’t do this,” she pleaded,

“You did this all by yourself,” I reminded her.

“I want to see him.”

“He’s not here.” She had rights. My mother had explained them to me, but I was hoping to never see her again. “Text me your number and where you’re staying and I’ll have my attorney contact you. She’ll explain how things are going to be.”

“You can’t keep him from me.”

“I can do whatever the hell I want to do. You can’t fight me. You don’t have the resources. After what you did, no judge in their right mind would side with you.”

“I’m his mother.”

“On a birth certificate.”

“I’m not going to let you keep him from me.” She pushed the door, but I held it in place. “I want to see him,” she screamed. “I’ll call the police.”

“I’ll file a restraining order. Technically you’re trespassing and you may be a danger to my son. You could be unstable.”

“No!” she cried. “I made a mistake. I shouldn't have left him. I didn’t know what to do and...”

“Kyler.” Jenna came up from behind me. “Let her in.”

“Jenna, I can handle this.”  In the most chaotic of moments I wanted Jenna to stand with me, but she had a soft side. One that was well intentioned, but Aimee didn’t deserve Jenna’s kindness. I didn’t need a mediator. I could make Aimee see things my way. All I’d have to do is throw some cash at her.

“You’re her.” Aimee waved that bullshit article in our faces. Would she even have come back if that story hadn’t broken? “You’re the woman who is trying to steal my child.”

“She’s doing no such thing.” I ripped the paper from her hand and tossed it on the porch. “She’s Mason’s nanny. She’s been here for him when you weren’t. She comforts him when he cries. Helps him through his teething, diaper rash, indigestion and when he’s having a shitty day. She feeds him, bathes him, plays with him, takes him for walks. She does all the things a mother should do.”

“Kyler, that’s enough,” Jenna stepped out onto the porch. “I’m Jenna Cranford.” She extended her hand. “You must be Aimee, Mason’s mother.”

What the fuck is she doing?

I
came up from the basement to the sound of voices arguing. As I wandered down the hall, I hoped I misinterpreted the situation. The closer I got, the deeper the ache in the pit of my stomach became. Kyler was fighting with a woman and the subject was Mason. That couldn’t be good. For any of us.

“You can’t keep him from me,” a timid voice said.

“I can do whatever the hell I want to do. You can’t fight me. You don’t have the resources. After what you did, no judge in their right mind would side with you.”

Aimee?

“I’m his mother.”

Yeah, it was Aimee. The inevitable day I had been dreading had finally come. Mason’s mother had returned and my perfect, happy life was about to come crashing down in front of me. I should have known better.

“On a birth certificate.” Kyler didn’t sound pleased, but he had been preparing for this day too.

“I’m not going to let you keep him from me. I want to see him,” she yelled. “I’ll call the police.”

“I’ll file a restraining order. Technically you’re trespassing and you may be a danger to my son.”

“No!” Aimee sounded desperate. Kyler had no intention of ever letting this woman take his son. I couldn’t blame him but she was still his mother and nothing was ever going to change that.

“I made a mistake,” Aimee continued. “I shouldn't have left him. I didn’t know what to do and...”

I needed to diffuse the situation. Kyler and Aimee were too emotional to see the bigger picture. Mason.

“Kyler,” I made my way to the door. “Let her in.”

“Jenna, I can handle this.”

There was no doubt in my mind that he could do what he thought was right. He was calm, caring and fair in most cases. His anger toward Aimee and the way she had left Mason infuriated him as it should, but in the end, Mason would suffer and Kyler would never forgive himself for that.

“You’re her.” Aimee flashed that silly tabloid in my face. That was what it took to get her back here? Kyler had been searching for her for weeks. “You’re the woman who is trying to steal my child.”

I didn’t have to steal him. You left him.

“She’s doing no such thing.” Kyler snagged the paper from her hand inducing a wide, fearful look from her.

I should have been elated over what he was saying. My heart wanted to be recognized as Mason’s mother, but my head knew better. It wasn’t right with his actual mother standing in front of us pleading to see her child.

“Kyler, that’s enough.” I stepped onto the porch. “I’m Jenna Cranford.” I extended my hand. “You must be Aimee, Mason’s mother.”

Kyler took my hand and stood next to me.

“And you must be Kyler’s latest whore.”

“Watch it,” Kyler snapped. “You don’t deserve her kindness.”

“Be careful,” Aimee continued. “He gets women pregnant and then dumps them.”

“That’s not what happened between us and you know it.” When Kyler squeezed my hand I could sense the anger pouring off him in droves of hostile energy. “I didn’t even know you were pregnant.”

“If you did, would that have changed anything?” Aimee asked.

“We’ll never know now.” Kyler shook his head. “As I said, Mason isn’t here.”

Aimee looked to me for confirmation.

“He’s telling the truth.” I stared at the pretty, young girl who didn’t have a clue what she was up against. Kyler had expendable funds, a team of attorneys and a far better chance of obtaining full custody. If Aimee was trying to make a point when she left Mason without looking back she had screwed up big time. Kyler and his team of lawyers were no match for her.

“Text me your contact information and I’ll be in touch,” Kyler said. “We’re doing this on my terms.”

“What does that mean?” Aimee looked up at him with pleading eyes. “I just want to see him. Make sure he’s okay.”

“It means you gave up your rights when you abandoned him. I don’t have to let you see him until a judge orders me to do it.”

“You can’t do that,” Aimee insisted.

“Watch me,” Kyler challenged.

“Kyler.” I treaded lightly, but I needed to interfere because a rational mind who also had Mason’s best interest had to do something.  I happened to be that rational mind at the moment. As much as I wanted to make this woman go away, I couldn’t do it. “I’m sure you don’t want to tie this up in court. Why don’t you give Aimee a chance to explain why she left? If her explanation is acceptable maybe you could work something out. Let her see Mason?”

“Please.” Aimee nodded. “I didn’t mean to leave him for so long. I was so overwhelmed. I didn’t have any help. I’m broke and I thought that you would be able to give him what he needed.”

“He needed his mother.” Kyler wasn’t impressed with Aimee’s story. “I had no idea what to do with him. I didn’t even know if he was mine. You probably didn’t either but you left him with me. You don’t know how that pisses me off to know that you were so careless with my son.”

“Our son.” The tears streamed down Aimee’s face. “I’ve missed him. I regretted leaving him but I convinced myself that he would be better off with you. My mother is no help. It’s not her fault. She’s single and works two jobs to get by as it is. She can’t help support us. I don’t know how to be a mom. I tried but I was afraid.”

“Then why did you come back?” Kyler asked.

“I think about him all the time. I think about you and what it would be like for us to be a family.”

Oh no...

“That’s what I was hoping to accomplish that day I came here, but you were with that model and you still didn’t believe that he was yours. I thought when you looked into his eyes you would know, but you still didn’t believe me. I was mad. I was stupid and I wasn’t thinking.”

“You needed to be more responsible when it came to him.” Kyler tensed beside me. “You can’t blame me for not knowing he was mine. You didn’t give me a chance to do the right thing until you forced my hand.”

“I made mistakes,” Aimee said. “I want to fix them. I want to give Mason the best life possible.”

“I want the same thing.” Kyler loosened his grip on my hand. “I’ll let you see him, but on my terms.”

Aimee nodded, wiping the tears from her face. The situation seemed to take on a calming tone.

“Be here tomorrow afternoon at three. Text me where you’re staying and who you’re with.”

“Why does that–”

“My terms.” He reiterated. “If you can’t accept that then you don’t need to see him tomorrow.” Kyler guided me back into the house, slamming the door in Aimee’s face. “What were you thinking?” He glared at me. “Why would you interfere like that?”

“You can’t keep him from her. Your mother told you that. It will hurt you in the long run.”

He paced the foyer, running his hands through his hair before ramming his fist into the wall. “Fuck!”

“Kyler.”  I cautiously stepped toward him just as the blood dripped from his knuckles. “You have to calm down.” I took his hand in mine. “You can’t fight for Mason if you’re acting like a lunatic. The judge could decide neither of you are fit to care for him. Then what?”

He nodded as he reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell. “I need to make a call.”

“To who?”

“My P.I.”

He had a private investigator?

“Wouldn’t your mother be the better choice?”

“I’ll call her next but first I need to do this. Something’s not sitting well with me. Aimee liked my money too much. Why didn’t she tell me she was pregnant? Wouldn’t that have set her up for life?”

He had a point. When she found out she was pregnant she could have come running back. Kyler would have taken care of her.

“Paul,” Kyler spoke into the phone. “I need you to drop everything you’re working on and get something done for me right now.”

Kyler shook out his hand. I motioned for him to follow me to the kitchen so I could rinse it for him. He walked behind me as he spoke.

“Yes, Aimee. She resurfaced today so you don’t need to keep looking for her.” He held his hand out over the sink as I ran the water over it. “I know you did your best. She didn’t want to be found which seems odd to me. Find out where she was during her pregnancy, where she lived and who she lived with. I want a timeline from the minute she peed on that stick until she showed up at my doorstep. Understood?”

I wiped out his cut with some disinfected and patted it dry.

“Call me when you know something.” He ended the call and glanced down at his knuckles. “Thanks.” He smiled at me. “I shouldn’t have hit the wall. I just got angry. I’m sorry.”

“I understand.”

“I know you do.” He tilted my chin. “Just because she came back, it changes nothing between us or what we have here. You know that, right?”

“Yeah.” I tried to sound convinced, but having Aimee back in Mason’s life would definitely change some things especially for me. “I started to get used to the idea that maybe she wasn’t coming back.” Pangs of guilt coursed through me for saying that out loud. The future Kyler had talked about a few weeks ago, I saw it too. But I didn’t need a house full of kids to make it complete. I was fine with the way things were. When I dreamed about us together, I saw myself as Mason’s mother. Why had I set myself up for such disappointment?

“I might not be able to stop her from seeing him, but I’ll do everything in my power to make sure Mason stays here with us. That’s where he belongs and that’s where he’s staying.”

“I know you’ll do what’s right for him.”

“I need to go and call my mother.” He dipped his head, focusing on my lips. “Don’t worry about anything.”

“I won’t.” In his most desperate moment he was comforting me.

He pressed his lips to mine, forcing his tongue inside my mouth, taking charge the way he did in every situation. The way I needed him to now.

“Damn.” He pulled away. “I could kiss you all day. Just wait until I get you back in bed tonight.” He winked. “I’m going to make good on that promise about you not being able to walk for three days.”

“I’m a lucky girl.” The warmth of his mouth lingered on my lips. “Go make your call. I’m going to shower and then we can go get Mason.”

“Don’t shower without me.” He smirked. “I won’t be long.”

“How could I resist that request?”

“You can’t.” He kissed me softly. “Ten minutes.”

***

Darkness had overtaken the room and it seemed as if I had been asleep for hours. I reached for Kyler because I needed to be smothered in his warm embrace, but his side of the bed was empty. Opening my eyes, I squinted at the clock. Two a.m. I popped up and looked around. Mason had been sleeping past the one a.m. feeding, so I hadn’t overslept, but where was Kyler?

Slipping out of bed, I tugged on Kyler’s t-shirt and headed out of the room. Mason’s door was ajar and a thin stream of light spilled out into the hall. Peeking in, I found Kyler rocking Mason as he slept on his dad’s chest. Kyler’s eyes were closed, but he rubbed the baby’s back.

I came in and knelt by Kyler’s feet, resting my head in his lap. He ran his fingers through my hair, gently massaging my scalp.

“Did he cry?” I asked.

“No.” He continued to play with my hair, relaxing me. “I couldn’t sleep and I didn’t want to wake you.”

“You can always wake me.”

“I didn’t want to disturb him, but when I came in to check on him he was staring at the ceiling, babbling to himself.” He laughed quietly. “I couldn’t resist picking him up. That was over an hour ago. I’ve just been holding him, listening to his breathing.”

“You’re worried about tomorrow.”

“Not worried, just unsettled. Aimee has a right to see him, but something is off.”

“Has your P.I. found anything out?”

“Just that she was seeing someone during her pregnancy. That explains why she didn’t tell me about Mason. Maybe she thought that guy was his dad.”
