“Miranda, I already told you, I’d do anything for you.” He smiled, moving closer to me. His hands gently closed around my shoulders, giving me a comfortable squeeze, “Will you let me help you fix the magazine? Will you let me help you untangle Carlos’ mess? Like I said, no engagement necessary.”

His help would be appreciated. With Paul, it’d be no time before the magazine turned itself around. We’d probably double profits in the first year.

“No.” I said gently, patting one of the hands as a slight frown crossed his lips, “No, I have to do this one all on my own. We have to do this on our own.” I added, gesturing out of my office, “We can do this. Now that Carlos’ secret is out, we’ll be able to handle it.”

“Yes, you will.” Paul agreed, “If anyone can do it, it’s you, Miranda.”

He released me hesitantly, his fingers lingering on my skin, unwilling to let me go.

“I suppose this is goodbye, for now.” He murmured, “You know where I am, you know how to reach me if you need anything at all.”

The handsome blond billionaire smiled at me one more time before pressing his lips against my forehead. Then he turned and headed towards the door.

“Paul?” I said lightly, just as he turned the knob. The wealthy man glanced at me curiously over his shoulder as I said, “There is just one more thing I need.”

“What is it?” he asked, turning back to me as I approached him. Gently, I twined my arms around his neck.

“Dinner, tonight. Seven o’clock sharp.” I leant up onto my tiptoes, pressing my lips fully against his own as he slowly wrapped his arms around me.

I wasn’t ready to marry anyone, I wasn’t ready to be engaged. I didn’t want to marry anyone who I wasn’t one hundred percent sure I was head over heels in love with.

Dating though, I was definitely alright with that, especially a date with a handsome blond billionaire who had a penchant for chocolate and Ferris wheels. Paul had been there for me when I needed him most. His kindness and compassion were unreplaceable in this world, he remained one of the most genuine men that I had ever met in my life.

Our history aside, this was a man who could see me for who I am. Paul was willing to put his own desires aside just to make me happy. I found myself willing to do the same. He’d spoken many times about how willing he was to do anything for me, and somewhere along the line, I’d discovered that my heart longed to do the same for him.

It didn’t matter that he had money, it didn’t matter that he would be able to singlehandedly save the magazine. All that mattered was that the feeling of his lips on mine completed me.

No longer was I trapped between the billionaires, desperate for their help and in need of someone else to clean up my mess. I was free to make my own choices again, independent and strong and willing to take on every challenge.

There was only one billionaire love in my life, and that was plenty for me.
