Dokusan
(Jap.). The meeting of a Zen pupil with his instructor, in private (as opposed to the group training sessions). The content of dokusan is necessarily secret, for it is the relation of heart-mind to heart-mind in a creative unity which is idiosyncratic to a particular partnership.
