I’d like to thank Dr.
Ramin Mojtabai, Associate Professor, Department of Mental Health at Johns
Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland, for answering
my questions related to Fregoli syndrome and for his articles, “Identifying
Misidentifications: A Phenomenological Study” (
Psychopathology
, 1998;
31: 90-95) and “Fregoli Syndrome” (
Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry
1994; 28:458-462)
. Any errors relating to Fregoli syndrome,
delusional misidentification syndrome, or schizophrenia are entirely my own.

My research also drew
on Frederick A. Jaffe,

I’m very fortunate to
have a terrific circle of readers who provide invaluable feedback on the
manuscript. Thanks to Gwenda Lemoine, Danielle Rapone, and Ani Pulsifer. A
special tip of the cap to Margaret Leroux, whose amazing editorial skills and
responses to the story, themes, and characters are all very much appreciated.

In particular, I want
to thank my editor, business partner, and long-suffering wife, Lynn Clark,
whose keen eye misses absolutely nothing. This one was particularly difficult
to complete, Lynn, given the circumstances, and your patience and unwavering
support kept me going. Thanks, love.

Finally, thanks to
Ronnie Cox, Sandrine Tyrbas de Chamberet, and Caroline Hendry of Berry Bros.
& Rudd, Ed Bajus of Charton Hobbs Group, Alistair Anderson and staff of the
Edrington Group, and Mark Ash, Callum Robertson, Angus Walker, and the real
Richard Booth of Frame (Sgt. Booth says thank you) for an incredible experience
in Scotland. Blended whisky’s for drinking and single malt’s for thinking,
indeed.

Would you believe a little boy who
claims to remember the names of the men who killed him in a previous life?

Praise
for
Blood Passage

“Got an hour? Because that's how
long it'll take to describe all the great things about this book .

.

. a
great main plot, interesting and not overwhelming subplots, believable
characters, true-to-life dialogue, and a satisfying ending.”

The
Masquerade Crew

Blood Passage
is an
exciting murder mystery that will keep you turning the pages .

.

. I
especially loved the character of Karen Stainer, a no-nonsense tough woman who
is not afraid to get nose to nose with the criminal element, but does have a
soft side to her .

.

. A very tense edge-of-your-seat type of page turner that will keep
you guessing to the very end.”

CelticLady’s
Reviews

“Action
filled and worthy of its own television show
.

.

. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.”

Marcie’s Murder
“holds the reader with its

“I really
enjoyed watching this novel unfold, especially as Donaghue and Stainer are the
perfect team and their witty remarks make for a very fun read
. There is an art to writing crime
novels, and McCann has perfected it.”
