“So I take it you talked with your friends about this?” He asked uneasy. He was playing with his soda can to avoid eye contact.

I nodded. “Doc just finished teaching me as much as she could. Tink is lacing up my clothes as we speak, and Kristen is keeping Adrian away so that I can talk to you. It’s all set in motion.”

He sighed, “You’re
sure
about this, Babes?” He asked, this time looking up at me.

I nodded. “What other choice do we have?”

“Ok, then I’m in.” He promised. “What is going to happen?”

I ran through what I planned again. “If those kids aren’t there. I’m going to let them… take me. Kristen, Tink, and Doc are going to run interference from here. Send the guys haywire, cut communication, whatever they have to do to keep the guys from going after me. Adrian will want them all to fight for me, and I can’t risk that.”

He sighed, “And my job is the
physical
interference?” He guessed running a hand through is chestnut colored hair, his blue eyes strained.

“That’s right,” I agreed, putting a hand through my own hair. “If any of the guys on the ground spot me, and try to interfere with capture, you have to stop them. Adrian will be in the air, so you won’t really have to worry about him. But I would keep a close eye on Victor, he’s the most protective.”

“The guy that’s like your
father
?” He responded blandly. “You see how big that dude is? How am I suppose to take him down? That man fucking
loves
you, and if he sees you, there is nothing that is going to stand in the way of getting you back.”

“Except you.”  I corrected, my eyes forcing him to understand that I was beyond serious.

He sighed again. “I’m going to catch hell for this when they lose you.”

I had thought about that, “Tink, Kristen, and Doc will have your back. The guys won’t go against them.”

“Why can’t one of the other guys do this?” He questioned still uncomfortable with what I was asking of him. “They have all known each other longer.”

I sighed, trying to find the best way to explain. “They…care about me too much…to let me do what I need to do.”

His face saddened with some form of realization. “And you think I
don’t
love you?”

I groaned running both of my hands through my hair, tugging at in frustration. That wasn’t was I was saying at all. “I know that you trust me enough to be able to do what I have to.”

He nodded, grabbing my hands that were sitting in my lap. “Promise me, that if I do this, you will make it back. Because I’m pretty sure I’m a dead man if you don’t.”

I let out a weak smile at that, because he was probably right. They would blame him, the minute I was gone, and it was selfish of me to ask it of him, but I needed his help. “I promise.”

He sighed in relief before looking towards the back door of my house. “Adjust your face, your
boyfriend
is coming.” He warned with a barely moving mouth.

I looked over at him, and I could tell he didn’t know what to make of Hunter and I’s conversation. I smiled at him motioning him over.

Hunter sighed, talking again with barely moving lips. “Yes invite over the man that wants to rip my throat out.”

I laughed then shook my head standing up. I was  craving aloe time with him as the time got nearer “He doesn’t want to rip your throat out, don’t be crazy.”

“You’re crazy if you don’t see it.” He spat.

I hit him in his arm. “I’m going to go spend some time with him. Don’t be mean, I need you two to work together when I’m gone. Not kill each other.”

I walked away and I could hear his skepticism. “We’ll see how that works Babes, we’ll see...”

              "You're
coming
," The guy threatened, standing up and pulling me up with him. He buried the muzzle of the gun in my ribs. "Grab that fucking bag, shut your fucking mouth, and
walk
."

I could have easily turned it around, but that wasn’t the plan that I worked out with my girls and Hunter. I
wanted
to get taken, so that they would take me wherever those boys were. They would need me, someone on the inside fighting for them. I could fight my way out later, and the girls knew how to find me if I couldn’t. The only thing that I felt bad about was keeping it from the rest of my team. I knew that they would stop me if they knew before hand.

Though difficult, the problem wasn't doing what he was telling me, or even not knowing where I would be taken; it was the chaos that ensued throughout the building and outside. Fire alarms started to wail as billowing smoke began to fill the balcony, the atrium, and the loading platforms outside. The front doors slammed open with civilians pushing their way outside, at the same time the small radio in my ear began buzzing with activity.

The sound of gunfire outside the front doors and in the park across the street met my ears, and I knew then that Myles had just started his distraction. It was chaos in front of a political aren
a

the perfect way to get Federal officers to jump. It was harmless smoke bombs inside the station, but a fire alarm would always scare innocent people.

"I've got guns in the park!" Cam yelled. "Take them down! Take them down! Someone get to Lopez, now! Don't let him get caught up in this shit..."

"I've got an asshole making their way through the crowd, Cam," Jackson warned. "He's heading straight for that senator."

"Take him down...shoot to wound only, J” Cam ordered. "I've got that minivan pulling up front!"

"Leave it," I hissed as I bent down to grab my black ba
g

a bag that was filled only with clothes for myself and the boys, not to mention the bear, Juan’s Inhaler and my gun. Not one dime was going with us. "I'm off the radio, Hunter, go" I breathed, pulling it from my ear like I was scratching and itch, standing up straight, because this was going to be tricky enough without the money, so I couldn't see adding fuel to that fire by being wired.

The last thing I heard before I pulled the earpiece out was, "Alyssa, no!" from Adrian.

The crowd outside started to scream and run from the activity. I felt, rather than heard, Adrian's chopper blades as he swooped closer for Jackson and Ross. I could see Cam trying to guide innocent people out through the front as we got closer and closer to the exit, which was getting tougher to see with all the smoke inside the station.

I walked calmly out the doors, Myles’s gun still in my side, and I gave Cam a minute shake of my head when he flinched at the sight of me. I needed them to let me go. I needed to get to Juan, even if it was being held against my will. I needed to face the wrath of Myles and Zoe when they finally realized that they didn't have a fucking dime.

Cam's face held worry and anger, but it also held a vow in a nod that he would find me. His head spun when screeching tires pulled to a halt in front of the three of us. The side door of the old tan minivan slammed open, and Myles rushed me inside to the backseat.

"Get in and get down!" he ordered, looking over his shoulder as Terry barreled his way out the front doors and dove in the van.

Adrian’s chopper swung low and dangerous over the scattering crowd heading away from fire alarms and gunshots, the side doors open, with Ross hanging out one side and Jackson another. Both were aiming in different directions. His blades stirred up dust, debris, and tree leaves, causing it all to swirl around everyone and just adding to the chaos. He should have been higher, but I had a feeling Ross was calling his movements.

A woman screamed in the middle of the street when a camo wearing man wrapped her hair around his hand and pointed a gun to her temple, yelling something at a nearby Fed. The guy never stood a chance, because Jackson never missed. One resounding pop, and the man's head snapped back. He hit the asphalt, causing the woman to stumble forward.

"Who the fuck are t
hey
?" Zoe gasped, her mouth hanging wide as she dove into the car beside me.

"Doesn't matter," Myles growled, slamming the minivan's side door. "Go, Kris... Drive! They won't shoot while this bitch is in this car. She's worth too much." This was a new face, one I didn’t recognize, and he hesitated in his escape.

I looked out the window to see Victor bursting through the doors, coming to my rescue, as I assumed he would. “Come on Hunter…” I whispered to myself was Victor pulled his gun, a perfect view of the van while being unseen. “Come on, come on, come on.” I mumbled feeling relief when I finally saw him side swiping Victor’s massive frame knocking him and his gun to the ground as we sped away. He would catch hell for that, but he believed in me enough to know that I could handle this.

The van lurched forward in another squealing of tires, and we bucked over a curb to avoid hitting a few Feds, as well as a small, crying child. The last face I saw was Pop Harris’, who bolted from the garage, giving the van a face filled with hatred and worry. Zoe shifted to the very back seat with Terry, allowing Myles to sit next to me.

He grabbed my ponytail, jerking it, practically spitting in my face. "You'll pay for this shit, Alyssa," he sneered, holding up a syringe. "You just couldn't do as you were told, could you?" he asked, stabbing the needle into my arm, depressing the plunger. My world blurred completely out of focus into nothingness.

Chapter 11- Contingency

"They aren't alone," Alyssa’ s voice reported into our ear as she walked into the train station. I banked around for the third time, trying to not be suspicious but I was nervous as hell, knowing she was in there without the money. "I've got a suspicious looking guy by the employee entrance. Camo jacket, concert tee, and an Ipod."

"Easy Boss,” Jackson cautioned as I went in lower. “You don’t want them to spot us.”

I nodded, "I've got the minivan making another pass through the drop off zone," I informed. "It seems he's waiting for a command."

Tink was in my ear, “That’s good hold your position for as long as you can, I want to see who’s around.”

I stayed close, but listened more intently to Alyssa’s conversation at the drop off point.

"Alyssa," An accented voice that must have been Zoe Nowak’s greeted her.

But my girl wasn’t in the mood for games, since she knew that the boys weren’t there. "Where are the boys, Zoe?"

Zoe was surprised that Alyssa knew her name. “Ah so you have put it together.”

“Where are the boys Zoe?” She demanded, a hint of her northern accent lacing the words with treat.

"In due time," Another voice snickered, he sounded like the guy we met on the farm. Myles.

"And you are?" My girl questioned, another player must have came into the mix.

"I'm just helping to get what's coming to us," He answered as if her situation were a joke. I was interrupted  from my eavesdropping by commands from Kristen. “ Adrian see if you can get a look at that driver. We need a name for that face.” I did as she said taking the chopper around the station again, trying to maintain the same flight pattern.

My ears alerted back to the conversation when I heard tension.

"Listen, bitch..." Zoe threatened, but from the sounds of it Myles interfered.

"Show us the money, and we'll bring the kids in.”

Alyssa was arguing,  "It so doesn't work that way with me. I need to...see what I'm paying for, or this meeting is over. You can take your chances with other...people."
