'It doesn't get better than this,' I said to Greg when we woke up the next morning. I realised I'd used that expression before, in similar situations. But it was true. It really doesn't get any better.

'You're right, Suzanne,' Greg said. 'It doesn't get any better.'

He rolled towards me and put his arm around my waist.

I lay in bed, thinking about the men who'd come into my life in the years since my divorce. I knew I wasn't ready for another relationship. I was having too much fun to even want one. Still, I knew eventually I'd meet someone who wanted to grow old with me. Someone like Greg – a guy with whom I could share adventures and who shared my desire to sometimes run free. I didn't know when this man would come into my life, but I knew he was out there.

I put my arm around Greg, drew him near and went back to sleep.
