29
And as they [Jesus and his disciples] departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
30
And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord,
thou
son of David.
31
And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord,
thou
son of David.
32
And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said,
What will ye that I shall do unto you?
33
They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
34
 So Jesus had compassion
on them,
and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
21:
1
And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
2
 saying unto them,
Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose
them,
and bring
them
unto me.
3
Â
And if any
man
say aught unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4
All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5
Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6
And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7
and brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set
him
thereon.
8
And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed
them
in the way.
9
And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed
is
he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
10
And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
11
And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
12
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13
 and said unto them,
It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
14
And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.
15
And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased,
16
and said unto him, Hearest thou what these say?
And Jesus saith unto them,
Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
17
And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.
18
Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.
19
And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it,
Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever.
And presently the fig tree withered away.
20
 And when the disciples saw
it,
they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
21
Jesus answered and said unto them,
Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this
which is done
to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22
Â
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
16
Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I
am
desolate and afflicted.
17
The troubles of my heart are enlarged:
O
bring thou me out of my distresses.
18
Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
19
Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
20
O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
21
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
22
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
12
A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.
13
 He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;
14
 Frowardness
is
in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.
15
Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.

17
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not
through
the way of the land of the Philistines, although that
was
near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
18
but God led the people about,
through
the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.
19
And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
20
And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.
21
 And the L
ORD
went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
22
he took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night,
from
before the people.
14:
1
 And the L
ORD
spake unto Moses, saying,
2
Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baal-zephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.
3
For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They
are
entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
4
And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I
am
the L
ORD
. And they did so.
5
And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
6
And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:
7
and he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.
8
 And the L
ORD
hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.
9
But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses
and
chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, before Baal-zephon.
10
And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the L
ORD
.
11
And they said unto Moses, Because
there were
no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
12
Â
Is
not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For
it had been
better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
13
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the L
ORD
, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
14
 The L
ORD
shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
15
 And the L
ORD
said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:
16
but lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry
ground
through the midst of the sea.
17
And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.
18
And the Egyptians shall know that I
am
the L
ORD
, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.
19
And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
20
and it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness
to them,
but it gave light by night
to these:
so that the one came not near the other all the night.
21
And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the L
ORD
caused the sea to go
back
by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry
land,
and the waters were divided.
22
And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry
ground:
and the waters
were
a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
23
And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea,
even
all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
24
And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the L
ORD
looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,
25
and took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the L
ORD
fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
26
 And the L
ORD
said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.
27
And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the L
ORD
overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
28
And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen,
and
all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.
29
But the children of Israel walked upon dry
land
in the midst of the sea; and the waters
were
a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
30
 Thus the L
ORD
saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.
31
And Israel saw that great work which the L
ORD
did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the L
ORD
, and believed the L
ORD
, and his servant Moses.
15:
1
Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the L
ORD
, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the L
ORD
, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
2
 The L
ORD
is
my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he
is
my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.
3
 The L
ORD
is
a man of war: the L
ORD
is
his name.
4
Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.
5
The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.
6
 Thy right hand, O L
ORD
, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O L
ORD
, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
7
And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath,
which
consumed them as stubble.
8
And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap,
and
the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9
The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.
10
Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
11
 Who
is
like unto thee, O L
ORD
, among the gods? who
is
like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful
in
praises, doing wonders?
12
Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.
13
Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people
which
thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided
them
in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
14
 The people shall hear,
and
be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.
15
Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.
16
Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be
as
still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O L
ORD
, till the people pass over,
which
thou hast purchased.
17
Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance,
in
the place, O L
ORD
,
which
thou hast made for thee to dwell in,
in
the Sanctuary, O Lord,
which
thy hands have established.
18
 The L
ORD
shall reign for ever and ever.
