1
And I [John] saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow
was
upon his head, and his face
was
as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
2
and he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and
his
left
foot
on the earth,
3
and cried with a loud voice, as
when
a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
4
And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
5
And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
6
and sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
7
but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
8
And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go
and
take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
9
And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take
it,
and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10
And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11
And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
A Psalm
of David.
1
I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.
2
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
3
In the day when I cried thou answeredst me,
and
strengthenedst me
with
strength in my soul.
4
All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O L
ORD
, when they hear the words of thy mouth.
5
Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the L
ORD
: for great
is
the glory of the L
ORD
.
6
 Though the L
ORD
be
high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
7
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
8
 The L
ORD
will perfect
that which
concerneth me: thy mercy, O L
ORD
,
endureth
for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Â
There is
a generation
that
curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
12
Â
There is
a generation
that are
pure in their own eyes, and
yet
is not washed from their filthiness.
13
Â
There is
a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
14
Â
There is
a generation, whose teeth
are as
swords, and their jaw teeth
as
knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from
among
men.
1
In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the L
ORD
by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
2
 Thus speaketh the L
ORD
of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the L
ORD
's house should be built.
3
Then came the word of the L
ORD
by Haggai the prophet, saying,
4
Â
Is it
time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house
lie
waste?
5
Now therefore thus saith the L
ORD
of hosts; Consider your ways.
6
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages
to put it
into a bag with holes.
7
 Thus saith the L
ORD
of hosts; Consider your ways.
8
Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the L
ORD
.
9
Ye looked for much, and, lo,
it came
to little; and when ye brought
it
home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the L
ORD
of hosts. Because of mine house that
is
waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
10
Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed
from
her fruit.
11
And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon
that
which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
12
Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the L
ORD
their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the L
ORD
their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the L
ORD
.
13
 Then spake Haggai the L
ORD
's messenger in the L
ORD
's message unto the people, saying, I
am
with you, saith the L
ORD
.
14
 And the L
ORD
stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the L
ORD
of hosts, their God,
15
in the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
2:
1
 In the seventh
month,
in the one and twentieth
day
of the month, came the word of the L
ORD
by the prophet Haggai, saying,
2
Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,
3
 Who
is
left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now?
is it
not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?
4
Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the L
ORD
; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the L
ORD
, and work: for I
am
with you, saith the L
ORD
of hosts:
5
Â
according to
the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.
6
 For thus saith the L
ORD
of hosts; Yet once, it
is
a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry
land;
7
and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the L
ORD
of hosts.
8
 The silver
is
mine, and the gold
is
mine, saith the L
ORD
of hosts.
9
The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the L
ORD
of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the L
ORD
of hosts.
10
 In the four and twentieth
day
of the ninth
month,
in the second year of Darius, came the word of the L
ORD
by Haggai the prophet, saying,
11
 Thus saith the L
ORD
of hosts; Ask now the priests
concerning
the law, saying,
12
If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy?
And the priests answered and said, No.
13
 Then said Haggai, If
one that is
unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean?
And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.
14
Then answered Haggai, and said, So
is
this people, and so
is
this nation before me, saith the L
ORD
; and so
is
every work of their hands; and that which they offer there
is
unclean.
15
And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the L
ORD
:
16
 since those
days
were, when
one
came to an heap of twenty
measures,
there were
but
ten: when
one
came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty
vessels
out of the press, there were
but
twenty.
17
I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye
turned
not to me, saith the L
ORD
.
18
Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth
month, even
from the day that the foundation of the L
ORD
's temple was laid, consider
it.
19
Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless
you.
20
And again the word of the L
ORD
came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth
day
of the month, saying,
21
 Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;
22
and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
23
In that day, saith the L
ORD
of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the L
ORD
, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the L
ORD
of hosts.
1
And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
2
But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty
and
two months.
3
 And I will give
power
unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred
and
threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4
These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5
And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
6
These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
7
And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
8
 And their dead bodies
shall lie
in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
9
And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
10
And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
11
And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
12
And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
13
And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
14
 The second woe is past;
and,
behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
15
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become
the kingdoms
of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
16
And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
17
saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
18
And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
19
And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
