Always ask for your salad dressing on the side and then dip your greens and veggies—you’ll use far less dressing this way. Better yet, make your own dressing using 1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 tablespoons vinegar, a squeeze of fresh lemon, and a little sea salt

Grilled chicken, fish, or shrimp with brown rice and steamed vegetables on the side (you can get this at any Chinese restaurant). Dress this up with a squeeze of lemon or your own organic tamari.

Chicken paillard: grilled chicken breast with arugula and tomatoes on top—a staple at French restaurants.

Grilled chicken fajitas with black beans, vegetables, and fresh salsa with a side salad. You can ask the chef to hold the tortillas, sour cream, and other toppings.

Sushi or sashimi with brown rice, steamed vegetables, and a seaweed salad, dressing on the side. You can use your own organic tamari.

Instead of an appetizer, order an extra serving of greens or veggies
