Chapter Eight

Sophie

I’ve
seen Chase every day this week except for today since it’s Ana’s day off. Since she isn’t working, I won’t go up to have a drink with her which means no running into Chase.

E
ven though it’s just been one day, something inside of me feels off.

However,
I do get to see Drake when he stops by at around eight to pick Ana up for their date. They’ve gotten serious pretty quick so I’m not really all that surprised to see him when I open the door tonight.

We exchange
pleasantries and he asks me how my day has been. I do the same, and am surprised when I find myself hoping to see Chase behind him. When Drake shuts the door behind us and asks if Ana is ready, I feel the disappointment spread throughout my heart.

“I’ll be right out!” Ana bellow
s from her bedroom putting a smile on both of our faces. I stick my head in to see how close she was to being ready, laughing when I found her head turned upside down and still topless. I can tell she’s frantic by the cursing under her breath.

“Looks like you probably have about fifteen minutes or so Drake,” I laugh apologetically. “Do you want something to drink?”

He smiles warmly. “Sure, but I can get it,” he offers walking to the kitchen and opening the fridge for a bottle of water, handing me one.

“I’m just hanging out in the living room. Come on in,” I
say walking back into the living room and taking my seat on the couch. Drake sits opposite me, his black hair artfully styled coinciding nicely with the fitted black button up he’s wearing. “So what do you two have planned for tonight?”

“Oh, I don’t really know. I thought we might have dinner and maybe see a movie. Typical
date stuff I guess,” he laughs. “You’re welcome to join us, you know.” I can see the sincerity in his eyes but I would never intrude like that. Before I can tell him as much though, Ana answers for me.

“No you aren’t!” We hear Ana be
llow loudly from her room, making us both chuckle again.

“N
o thank you. I’m fine hanging out here. I would never intrude on your date night,” I smile. “I’m not that desperate Drake!” I say feigning offense.

“O
h no! I didn’t…“ Concern flashes in his bulging eyes and he throws his hands up in surrender.

“Relax! I’m kidding! It’s a sweet offer but I’m okay. Thank
you.”

He laughs
, wiping his hand across his brow in a theatrical sigh of relief when I notice him eyeing Jack’s guitar sitting against the couch.
Shit! I forgot I’d left it out
. I hope he won’t mention it.

“Do you play?” he says,
pointing at the guitar.

Crap.

“A little but I’m not very good,” I lie. His features are laced with suspicion as he nods.

“I always wanted to learn but I’m a bit impatient so I never took the time to pick it up. I have a lot of r
espect for musicians though,” he says and I smile. As I sit struggling to come up with something to change the subject to, Ana saves me by walking out of her room. She looks beautiful as ever in a short, black leather mini skirt, a bright top with the back cut out and her favorite heels.

“Hey
, Babe,” she says, greeting him with a smile. “I’m sorry to keep you waiting. You ready?” she asks Drake as she kisses him. His hands float to her almost instantly.

“Analise, my knockout. Y
ou are always worth the wait,” he pauses to kiss her again and gives her another admiring smile. “I’m ready whenever you are, Baby.”

“Okay, let’s get going then. Soph, you have a good night, oka
y? Call if you need me,” she says with a wink, mouthing “only if you
really
need me
,”
over her shoulder, causing me to laugh again.

“Bye. Y
’all have fun and drive safe. It was nice to see you Drake,” I say.

“Good to see you too
Sophie,” he says with a smile. As they approach the door, he glances back in my direction. “Chase isn’t doing anything tonight if you want to give him a call,” he gives me a knowing wink and pulls the door shut. For a moment, I stand there with my mouth hanging wide open like an idiot.

Drake

When Ana walk
s out of her room I am stunned. I know the woman is beautiful but holy hell! Tonight, she’s simply ravishing. She wears her long dark hair down in soft curls that complement her gorgeous grey eyes. I can see a hint of makeup, giving them a smoldering look. She’s wearing a short, black leather mini skirt and a colorful top with heels that make her legs run on for days.

It’
s taking everything in me to not throw her down on the couch and take her right there, but I have to keep my composure. Not that I think she’d mind, but Sophie might have. I can’t keep my hands off her completely though so as soon as she’s within reach, I pull her closer.

I can
tell by the shocked look on Sophie’s face when I suggest she call Chase that she’d already been thinking about him. I shouldn’t mess with the girl, but it’s just so easy to get her riled up that it’s hard to resist. Her disappointment that I’d arrived alone wasn’t missed.

And what was with that guitar?
When we’d gone to karaoke last weekend, she’d refused to sing, saying she didn’t do anything like that. But then there was that guitar; I’d call it a coincidence if it wasn’t for the soft crooning I hear coming from inside when I knock. Maybe it’s the TV but since it’s off when I walk inside, I doubt it.

“So how are you and Sophie settling in?” I ask Analise. She’
s been oddly quiet tonight and I wonder why.

“Good,” she looks over and smiles. “We had a good day today. Just hung out and enjoyed each other’
s company.”

“That’s always nice
,” I state. “I didn’t know that Sophie played the guitar.”

“Uh yeah, she has for years. I’m actually surpris
ed she told you that,” she looks at me a little funny.

“She didn’t. I saw it out while I was waiting for you and she said she played a little but wasn’t very good at it. I just didn’t know she
played at all. Do you?”

“No, I never picked it up; n
o pun intended,” she laughs at her joke. “My brother played but I never did.”

Another piece to the puzzle but I can’t mention it to Chase. I normally wouldn’t care so much but I know how much he likes her. He’s spoken of nothing else all week except for Sophie. I’ve never seen him like this over a woman
before.

Chase plays a little. I’ve always admired him for it but I never learned either. He likes her a lot, you know. You should encourage her to call him. He’s a great guy and crazy about her,” I tell her.

“Sure, Baby
, I’ll talk to her about it. What do you feel like having for supper tonight?” she asks. I reach over and run my hand higher up her thigh, gently squeezing it and staring down at her.

“I’m happy with eating what’s here
, Baby,” I lick my lips suggestively. Her eyes darken as I run my hand further up her skirt and grip her between her thighs possessively, tracing the lace of her panties with my finger. “How about we skip the whole date and just drive back to my place?” I don’t know what it is about her but I just can’t seem to get enough. Ever since that first time we’d met in front of that gas station, there’s been this electricity between us that neither of us can deny. We’re both insatiable when we we’re around one another.

I watch her features turn crimson and her ja
w go slack at my suggestion.

“Pull over,” she order
s in a husky whisper and I know she’s just as turned on as I am.

I quickly pull over onto the side of the busy highway shoulder. Before I kno
w what’s hit me, she climbs over the console into my lap and straddles me, her lips crashing against mine instantly.

The heat coming
from between her thighs on my erection is nearly my undoing. Somehow hearing my thoughts, she reaches down and unfastens my belt, pulling my cock out and stroking me. I groan into her mouth and slide her skirt up around her waist squeezing her ass hard as she grinds against me slowly. I could feel her working her small hands up and down my shaft and I can’t take it anymore.

Pulling away from her lips slightly
, I meet her gaze and reach down between us, gripping her lace long roughly. Before she can object, I rip them off of her body, impaling her with every inch of my cock as she screams out my name. I’ve been thinking about being inside her all day and I know I’ll be lucky to last more than a few minutes.

“This is
going to be quick, Baby,” I tell her and she nods in agreement as my mouth assaults hers. She finds her pace and begins riding me quickly, her hands on either side of my headrest while I control her hips in my tight grip.

“You feel so good, Drake
,” she whimpers as I plunge deeper into her with each thrust.

“I love how
wet you are for me,” I whisper into her ear and my words push her to the edge. In just minutes, I’ve managed to drive her wild. Feeling what I’m doing to her is so arousing I know I won’t be far behind. I hold on tighter to her hips and drive into her even harder as I felt her center beginning to tighten and pulse around me. She’s almost there, I can feel it.

“I’m close!” she force
s through her clenched teeth.

“That’s right, B
aby. Let me feel you,” I say causing her to look down at me, her eyes meeting mine again. As I begin sliding the pad of my thumb over her clit and watch her head fall back as she lets out an animalistic moan. “Come for me.” As if my words are her undoing, she comes apart on top of me, driving me over the edge.

“You. Are. So. Fucking. Ho
t,” I say, emphasizing each word as I thrust into her reaching my end and growling her name into the darkness of the car. She leans her head onto my shoulder and we both continue breathing erratically. “Holy shit, Baby,” I say, looking into her eyes and repeating the first words she’d ever said to me.

“Holy shit, indeed,” she agree
s breathlessly with the same mind blowing smile I’ve been falling for all week, pressing her lips against mine.

I pick
up Jack’s guitar again, strumming the strings with no real intention. Sometimes I just like to feel them beneath my fingers and I guess tonight is one of those times. I started strumming a familiar tune, finding myself thinking of Jack and remembering the first time he’d ever played this guitar for me.

We’d been dating for about a month and it was the se
cond time I’d seen his bedroom. I’d seen the guitar in there the first time but it hadn’t asked if he played. I guess I just assumed as much. We were in his room, my hand in his, talking quietly when I asked him about it.

“Do you play?” I ask.

“Yeah, do you?”

“No, I wish I did but I never had anyone to teach me and since I don’t have a guitar, I never had the chance to teach myself. I’ve always
wanted to learn though,” I admit.

“Well, I could teach you if you want. I think you’d enjoy it a lot,” he offered.

“Really? You’d teach me?”

“Sure, if you want.”

“Wait, are you any good? What if you teach me wrong and I suck?” I tease playfully.

“Well
I guess we’ll suck together then, huh?” he laughs and kisses me sweetly on the lips.

“Will you play something for me?”

“Are you sure you want to hear my sucky playing?” he laughs and I smack him playfully.

“Of course I want to hear you. What can you play?”

“What do you want to hear?” he asks me with a smile.

I thoug
ht for a minute and finally said, “Surprise me.”

He
sat considering it for a moment and then started gently strumming the guitar strings into a beautiful yet somewhat solemn melody that I quickly identified as Real Love by John Lennon. It’s one of my favorite songs. I gently lean my head onto his shoulder and felt my eyes close. The next thing I knew, I heard Jack’s deep, southern voice is singing the beautiful words to me softly.

Words that spoke to my heart
about what our future held for us. He sings, leaning down and gently kissing the top of my head, which causes me to melt further. We sat there on the bed while he looked into my eyes and continued to gently strum the guitar, singing the words to me. Towards the end of the song, I began singing the chorus along with him softly and my eyes were brimming with tears at how sweet he is; how much I feel for him when his voice wavers over the lyrics that had always been my favorite.

As he continued crooning the lyrics, I reach
up and place my hands to his face, kissing him with more passion than I ever had before. Even though I didn’t tell him so for months, that day in his room that is the day I fell in love with Jack Walker.
