“Oh God, Ryder, I think I’m coming.” Loud moans erupted from
her, he kept his pace slow. She clung on to him as her body exploded around
him.

“Oh yeah, baby,” Ryder groaned. Corbin shook under him.

“Please...do...it again,” she said between breaths. Ryder
brought his mouth to hers and kissed her hard.

“We’ve got all night,” he moaned in her ear. Corbin uttered
a guttural groan and cinched her legs tighter around him.

Ryder kept to his word and when the sun came up they fell
into an exhausted sleep.

POUNDING ON THE door jolted Ryder
from a deep sleep.

“Are you two ever getting out of bed?” Stella shouted.

He rubbed his eyes and looked to Corbin, who lay curled up
next to him. He slid out of bed and wrapped a towel around his lower half. He
walked to the door and cracked it open.

“What’s up?” A huge yawn erupted from him.

“We are going to go for a swim before the storm moves in. Do
you guys want to come along?” Stella pushed on the door, but Ryder held it in
place.

“Storm?”

“Yeah, you know, thunder and lightning.” She tried to peek
around him.

“Give us a minute, ok?” Ryder gave her a wink then closed
and relocked the door. He sat down on Corbin’s side of the bed and ran a hand
up and down her back. She stirred a little.

“Time to get up,” he whispered in her ear. He gave it a
little nip.

“Mmmm…” She rolled over onto her back and slowly opened her
eyes. Ryder ran his fingers down between her breasts and over her stomach. She
giggled. Even after several hours of doing her, his dick began to swell. Sure
he had had many all nighters with chicks, but by the time daylight broke he was
ready to send them packing. With Corbin things felt different, he wanted to
stay in bed with her all day. He cleared his throat. She ran a hand down his
chest and locked her fingers over the top of his towel.

“What time is it?” she asked. Ryder reached for his cell
phone.

“2:00.”

“In the morning?”

“In the afternoon.”

“Ugh…” Corbin yawned and stretched.

Ryder set his phone down then stood and slipped on his
jeans.

“Stella wants to know if we want to go for a swim.”

“I need coffee and food first.” He watched as Corbin threw
back the sheet and stretched her naked body.

If you keep doing stuff like that, I will never let you
leave this room.

In an effort to clear his mind, he busied himself with
picking up the condom wrappers that were strung about the room. Out of the
corner of his eye he watched as she pulled on her bikini bottoms. As she did,
she grabbed a hold of her crotch and winced in pain. She looked his way and he
bent down and pretended to see nothing, but gave himself a mental pat on the shoulder.
He too was a little sore, but damn, it was worth every minute of discomfort he
felt. Corbin had been so eager and allowed him to do whatever he wanted to her.
His dick pressed against his zipper.

“Ready?” She pulled her hair back and slipped on a t-shirt
and her glasses.

“Ahm...yeah, just need to find my swim trunks.”

And make this massive hard on go away.

Corbin gave him a nod then unlocked the door. Stella of
course was waiting outside.

“What the hell? Did you pull an all-nighter?”

“Something like that.” Corbin’s nonchalant response brought
a smile to his face.

CORBIN TRIED TO act like the pain
between her legs was nothing, but it was pretty intense. The cool lake water
helped out a little. But none the less, as she watched Ryder resurface from
under the water, she could think of nothing more than having her inside her
again. She plugged her nose and went under. When she resurfaced, Stella stood
there, a little smirk on her face. Some little kids swam by and splashed them.

“Hey watch my hair!” Stella yelled as she gave them a splash
back.

“Darlin’, we are in water, what do you expect?” Mike said as
he floated by on an inner tube. Stella rolled her eyes then grabbed Corbin’s
hand and pulled her away from the crowd. Corbin groaned.

“Stella, I don’t want to discuss stuff with you.”

“Just hear me out.”

Corbin sighed and crossed her arms. Stella fidgeted in the
water.

“I just want to make sure you are ok.”

“Yes, Stella I am fine.”

Other than the raging pain I feel between my legs and
possibly a funny walk.

Corbin bit her lip to keep from bursting out laughing at the
thought.

“I just worry, I mean after the stuff you told me about
Rob…”

“Stella I shouldn’t have told you that.” Corbin turned and
started wading back to the shore.

“Wait…what I am trying to say is …you have a good soul and
Ryder’s not the picket fence, marrying type of guy.”

“What are you getting at?”Corbin snapped.

“Just don’t let your heart get involved. I have been in your
position and I don’t want to see what happened to me happen to you.” Corbin
shook her head, anger welled up inside of her.

“I am so tired of people telling me what to do and how to
live my life. If I fall for Ryder and he crushes me that’s my problem, not
anyone else’s. I was fucked over by Rob and I’ve moved on. Does it still hurt
yes, but you know what? I am a big girl and I can deal with it. I just want to
enjoy myself this weekend and not have to worry about feelings and bullshit,
ok?” Corbin felt as if a thousand pounds lifted from her shoulders. She took a
deep breath and let it out slowly. Stella gaped at her.

“Well...ok then.” The gape turned into a smile.”I think I
like this side of you, Corbin.”

“Yeah, me too,” Corbin gave her a quick hug then waded off
in the direction of Ryder. He was splashing some kids who were laughing loudly
in response. She felt so alive and free for the first time in her life.

“You kids need some help?” She began splashing Ryder too.

“Hey that’s not fair!” Ryder exclaimed. He grabbed her and
pulled her into a kiss.

“That’s gross!” one of the kids squealed. Corbin and Ryder
laughed and then continued on with the splashing war.

THE STORM ROLLED in with a
vengeance. Several knocks rang out on the lake house door, and now a few
families milled about. They sat hunkered around the weather radio. The wind
blew hard outside and hail pummeled the windows. Ryder had finally gotten a
hold of Alex and she assured him she was safe. He hung up the phone call then
walked to the living room. Corbin was sitting on the floor with a bunch of
kids; she looked to him and gave him a wave. An unfamiliar sensation went off
in his chest. His breath caught in his throat, he placed his hand over his
heart and it was thumping so hard he felt as if it was about to rip through his
chest.

Great, I am having a stroke.

He turned back into the kitchen, grabbed a beer and sat down
at the table. He took a generous gulp, and then lit a cigarette. His hands were
shaking.

What the fuck?

He ran a hand over his mouth, took a deep breath and let it
out slowly.

“Do storms freak you out?”

Corbin’s voice brought him to full attention, in more ways
than one. He looked her way, even though she was wearing an oversized
sweatshirt and sweatpants and zero makeup, he couldn’t take his eyes off of
her.

“No, I love storms. I was just worried about Alex.” He
tapped his lighter nervously on the table.

“Oh, is she ok?” She grabbed a beer and sat down.

“Yea, she’s safe.” Corbin gave him a nod.

“Can I have one of those?” She pointed to his cigarettes. He
slid the pack and the lighter across the table. She lit one and slid them back.
She yawned and rubbed her eyes.

“Tired?”

“Duh.” She gave him a smile and color rushed to her cheeks.
“What about you?”

“A little.” He gave her a shrug and she chuckled. They
locked eyes and Ryder felt the sensation in his chest again. He placed a hand
over his heart.

“You ok, dude?” Mike asked as he entered the room.

“Yeah, I think it’s just a little heartburn.” Ryder moved
his eyes from Corbin’s and looked to Mike.

“The weather guy said the storm has passed. The people out
there want to know if we could help them in case all of their shit blew around”

Ryder crushed out his cigarette then stood. “Sure.” He gave
one more glance to Corbin then followed Mike to the living room. They gathered
up the people and after a few hours had helped some of them find their tents.
They helped set them back up. Ryder’s ass was dragging when they got back to
the house. Seeing that neither Stella nor Corbin was awake so he and Mike said
their goodnights. Ryder collapsed on the couch with a beer in his hand. Sleep
immediately overtook him.

CORBIN HAD BEEN awake since 6:00
a.m. When she woke up alone slight disappointment filled her. She had repacked
her bag, removed the bedding and had it sitting on the floor for the cleaning
service that worked at the lake. Deciding on a shower before her morning
coffee, she grabbed some clean clothes and headed for the bathroom. Hearing the
shower running, she knocked on the door.

“I’m almost done,” Ryder said from inside.

Corbin bit her lip as she recalled the shower scene they
shared. She hurried back to the bedroom and searched for condoms, finding none
she cursed aloud then went back to the kitchen and plopped down at the table. A
few minutes later the door opened.

“Was that you knocking?” Ryder asked as he rubbed a towel
over his hair.

“Yeah,” she began twisting her hair.

“You could have just come in.”

“I thought about it but…” Corbin felt herself blush.

“I know...I wanted to give you a proper wakeup call but…” He
gave her a wink. Corbin covered her face with her hands. Ryder laughed.

“Go on girl, get in the shower. I’ll get the coffee going.” Corbin
gave him a nod. She hurried through her shower and brushed her teeth and her
hair. When she opened the door the smell of coffee brewing filled her nose.

“Hungry?” Ryder cocked his head.

“Famished.” Corbin cocked an eyebrow at him.

“I love it when you speak them there fancy words,” Ryder
said in a hillbilly accent. Corbin laughed and poured herself a cup of coffee,
making sure to add a generous amount of French vanilla creamer to it. She
inhaled the scent then walked to the patio doors; she slid them open and
stepped outside. The morning air was so cool.

“It’s a beautiful morning,” she said to no one in
particular. From the kitchen she heard Ryder humming a tune that sounded
familiar. She turned to him as his gruff voice belted out a few lyrics to Lips
of an Angel.

“Do you always sing when you cook?”

“Yeah, sorry it’s just a habit.” He shrugged.

“Don’t be sorry, keep singing.”

He turned to her then joined her on the patio. He took her
coffee and sat it on the railing, then cupped one of her hands with his and
wrapped his other arm around her waist. They stared into one another’s eyes for
a moment then Ryder began moving their bodies around the patio. He started singing
the song again, his eyes never leaving hers.

“That’s hot!” Stella exclaimed. Corbin looked to her where
she stood fanning herself. Ryder stopped moving and gave Corbin a soft kiss
before he released her and headed back inside.

“Do you want some breakfast Stella?” he asked.

“Sure, I could eat.” Stella shrugged.

Corbin picked up her coffee, her hands were shaking.

“Cold?” Stella asked.

Yes that’s it, I am just cold.

“I guess.” Corbin shrugged.

“I really don’t want to go home today.” Stella leaned on the
railing.

“Back to reality,” As soon as Corbin spoke those words she
felt as if her stomach dropped
.

What is going to happen when we get home?

Corbin shook the thought away.

Stop trying to analyze everything

“You ok?” Stella asked. Corbin gave her a nod then took a
sip of her coffee.

No.

“You and Mike are getting along great.” Corbin had to
refocus her mind elsewhere.

“Yea, I know it’s kinda scary.”

“What do you mean by scary?”

“I don’t know. He is so grounded and actually has life
goals.” Stella paused for a moment then looked to her. “He told me he loved
me.”

“That’s great, Stella.” Corbin gave her a smile. She watched
as sadness filled Stella’s eyes
.

“He really wants me to move to Texas with him, but I am
scared.”

“Of what? Stella, do you want to know what I think?” Corbin
joined her at the railing.

“I’m not sure.” Stella uttered a nervous laugh.

“I think Mike is good for you.”

“How so?” Stella picked at the wood.

“Go look at yourself in the mirror, you have been glowing
since that night you met him.” Stella turned to her and then swept her up in a
hug. Corbin patted her back.

“We have to come back here at least one more time before you
start college.” Stella pulled from the hug.

“Definitely,” Corbin gave her a small smile.

“It’s ready,” Ryder called from inside.

Corbin and Stella walked back in; Corbin stopped to refill
her coffee then sat down at the table. Ryder dished out some eggs for each of
them.

“This is delicious,” Stella cooed. Corbin placed a bite in
her mouth.

“Oh my God, Ryder.” She covered her mouth as she spoke.

“You like?” He wiggled his eyebrows at them.

“They are so good, what did you put in them?” Corbin pointed
to her plate.

“It’s a secret.” He gave her a wink.

“I proclaim that you are now the chef at the apartment. When
we get back I am taking you grocery shopping.” Stella shoveled in more eggs.
Ryder laughed.

“I think you missed your calling, Ryder.” Corbin returned
his flirty wink.

“Cooking is one of my passions. I thought about becoming a
Chef, but music won out.”

“From what I’ve seen, you combine the two very well.” Corbin
maintained eye contact with him.

“Thanks.” Ryder shot her a sideways smile.

“Feel free to use me as a taste tester,” Stella said through
a mouthful of food.

“What’s all the ruckus?” Mike asked. He entered the kitchen
wearing only skin tight boxers, his cowboy hat and boots.

“You are a sexy beast.” Ryder catcalled and gave him some
whistles.

“You know it, rock star,” Mike began wiggling his hips.

“Oh Christ,” Stella laughed. Corbin and Ryder joined in.

“There’s some eggs left if you want them,” Ryder offered.

“You have to try them.” Stella scooped up some on her fork
then walked to Mike. He chewed and nodded.

“Those are awesome.”

“Ryder made them.”

“Well I knew definitely it wasn’t you, darlin’,” Mike said
with a smile on his face. Stella’s jaw dropped. Mike pulled her up against him
and kissed her. Corbin looked to Ryder who gave her a small smile. Corbin
finished her food then checked her phone for the time. It was 8:00 a.m.

“I’m going to have to leave soon.”

“What’s the hurry?” Mike asked in between kissing Stella.

“I need to go check up on my Mom.” Corbin stood and began
rinsing off her dishes.

“Take my van. I think Mike and I are going to hang here for
awhile. The keys are in it.”

“Ok.” Corbin turned to see the two had disappeared.

Ryder joined her at the sink and leaned into her.

“I am leaving with you. There is no way in hell I am
sticking around for the rodeo that is about to take place.” Corbin burst out
laughing and Ryder joined in.
