“Now you listen to me and listen well,
because I am not going to repeat myself.  You will share my room and I
don’t want to have to come and fetch you here again, ever!  We are going
to see Megan’s doctor together and we are getting married.  Get dressed, I
am making the appointment for today.”

He swung around and stomped to the
door. He glared at her over his shoulder.

“And just for the record, Jenna.
I have never, not once, treated you like a slut!  I resent that you felt
like one!”

She bristled angrily at him and
slammed her fists in her waist.

“I am not marrying you, McGregor!”

He was in front of her without her
realizing he even moved.  He pressed his face so close to hers their noses
nearly touched.

“You.
Will. Marry. Me! No child of mine is going to be born out of wedlock, Jenna.
Especially not this one!”

Jenna
dressed in black pants and a moss green sweater, with flat shoes.  It was
slightly chilly outside with autumn in full swing.  Callum was already waiting
for her in his Sports car in front of the house.

She clamped her handbag against her
stomach and she sank down on the stairs.  Callum got out of the car and
rushed to her side.

“Are you nauseous again?”

“No.”

“Jenna, we need to go.  We will
be late if we don’t leave now.”

“Callum, I’m scared.  What if I
damaged the baby?”

“What are you talking about?”

Her eyes met his and he read her
concern and fear clearly.  They swam in tears.

“I was already pregnant that night I
got so horrifically drunk!”

He sat down next to her and drew her
into his arms, soothing her with small caresses down her back.

“I’m sure everything will be
fine.  You ar …”

“But what if it’s not?  I will
never forgive myself if …”

“Baby, you are upsetting yourself and I
am relatively sure it is not good for you.  We will ask the doctor.
Now, come. We need to leave.”

Callum drew her up with him and walked
around the car with her.  He closed the door once she was settled and they
were on their way immediately.  He glanced at Jenna surreptitiously all
the way there and sighed when the worried frown remained between her eyes.

He took her hand in his, placed it on
his thigh and covered it with his.  Gently caressing her palm.  He
parked the car in the parking area in front of the practice.  He lifted
Jenna’s hand to his lips and kissed it softly.  Her eyes rose to his.

“How do you really feel about the
baby, Callum?  You have not said anything.”

He looked at her and frowned
angrily.

“Do you think I do not want your
child, Jenna?  Is that it?  Or is it that you don’t want my child?”

She cursed and yanked her hand out of
his.

“That is not what I asked!  Why
is it that you can’t just answer the question, Callum?  Did you really
break off the engagement or did you just say it to …”

“Now you are really beginning to annoy
me.  I broke off the damn engagement the night we got back to the hotel
from that restaurant.  I have always wanted children, Jenna.  I am
elated that we are going to have one.”

Callum opened her door and assisted
her out.  They were ushered into the specialist office immediately.
Callum smiled at him, recognizing him from when the twins were born.
Megan had a difficult labor and he was at the hospital the whole time
supporting Liam.  He stiffened, remembering and looked down at
Jenna.  She was so small!  How much more difficult would labor be for
her?

He introduced himself to Jenna as
Logan Leighton and quickly went through a list of personal and health questions
for her.  He sat back and smiled at them.

“I imagine there is a baby on the way,
otherwise you would not be here together?”

Jenna nodded and got up to go and get
ready in the examination room to the one side of his office.  Callum
walked in with him and stood silently watching when he examined her, drew some
blood and asked her to fill a urine sample and then get dressed.

She joined them back in the office,
handing the urine sample to Logan.  He quickly did the test with a thin
white strip and once satisfied, threw it in the bin. He looked at them and smiled.

“Well Jenna, you are definitely
pregnant, and based on the sonar, eight weeks along.  You are very healthy
so I don’t foresee any problems at this point, but I am giving you some
vitamins and you need to ensure you get enough rest.  Carrying twins can
be quite daunting later on in the pregnancy, but if you built up your strength
in the early months, you will be fine.”

Jenna paled.  Oh Lord!
Twins!  The thought never even crossed her mind!  She was still
trying to accept the fact that she was pregnant!

Callum smiled widely and the pride was
clear in his eyes and Jenna relaxed for the first time since she realized she
was pregnant.

“I … er, never even thought about that
possibility.”

“I should have. Everyone as far back as
forever in my family’s first born, was always twins.”

He took her hand in his and kissed her
palm.  Then he frowned and looked at Logan.

“Jenna is very small, doctor.
Would she not have problems with the delivery?”

Logan smiled noticing the real concern
in Callum’s eyes.

“That was the reason for the internal
examination, Callum.  I do not foresee any problems, but we should be able
to know if there would be any difficulty early on.  Or you can elect to
have them borne by caesarian.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

Jenna and Callum replied at the same
time and Callum looked at Jenna.

“Yes, Baby.  I saw how Megan
battled and I am not going to allow you to suffer like that.”

“I am giving birth normally,
McGregor.  There are millions of woman my size that have normal birth’s
every day.”

“They are not mine, you are and I am
not going to see you suffer!”

Logan smiled.  Having sat through
many similar conversations.  Megan and Liam’s three weeks ago as well.

“There is still lots of time to
decide.  Now, do you have any questions, Jenna?”

“Ehm … yes.  I … don’t drink a
lot, not even socially, but I got horribly drunk, probably three weeks from
inception date.  Would … is it possible to have caused any negative effect
on the baby?”

“Did you throw up at all during the
night or the next morning?”

“She hurled her guts out three times
not long after she got home.”

“Then I would not worry about it at
all.   You said you are nauseous in the mornings, how long has that
been going on?”

“Only since Monday.  I am usually
fine from around ten in the morning. Provided I have nothing other than dried
toast.”

He smiled and scribbled another script
and handed it to Callum.

“How long would the nausea
continue?”  Callum did not like how weak it made her, if it was always as
bad as that morning.

“It differs from person to
person.  Some suffer a week, some a few months.  Try and drink some
water the moment you wake up, it might help.”

“What about intimacy, Doctor?
Can we still have sex? Any limitations?”

Jenna glared at him and blushed. It
was him and his damn need for sex that got them here in the first place!

“You can still have sex, and the
only limitation would be not to be too rough over the last quarter.  By
then it would also be more comfortable for Jenna if penetration is from behind,
lying on her side.  There is one thing to be aware of.  Most men
believe they need to stay away from their partners during pregnancy, but
usually females’ sex drive increases exponentially during their pregnancy and
their needs are higher.”

“I did not realize that.  How
long does that last?”

“There is no hard and fast rule,
Callum. It is usually most pronounced during the first trimester when hormonal
havoc is at its height. Or it could continue right up until delivery day. Every
woman is different, and every couple's sex life is different. But be aware of
her need and that it could be so strong she would need no additional
stimulation.”

By now Jenna’s face was brightly
flushed.  The two men so ensconced in their discussion about her sex drive
during pregnancy that they totally forgot she was present.  The doctor
noticed the flush and chuckled.  He slotted their next date on his
calendar and informed them they would also do a two dimensional scan then.
They got up to leave, when Jenna turned back to Logan.

“Oh, I nearly forgot!  When is
the due date, Doctor?”

“I would say around 28
th
April.  At least you will have a built in oven during the winter months!”

Chapter
Nineteen

“What
… how did you find me?”

“Now is that the way to greet me,
Red?  How about, hi Kevin, how are you?”

“You did not answer my question.”

“Ask me the correct question and I
will.”

Kevin stepped forward, forcing Shelly to
retreat back into her condo.  Her heart beat so fast and so hard she could
hear it thumping in her ears.

“Where is your fiancé, Red?”

“What are you doing here?”

“Where is he?”

“Back … he went back … stop, Kevin!”

He did not stop until he had her
backed up against the wall and he pressed his body against hers. She gasped
when his hard shaft pressed against her belly.  His eyes bored into hers.
His hands pressed against the wall next to her face.

“I am thirty five years old,
Red.  I had my fair share of women in my life, but I have had enough of
playing the field.  I want one woman, only one in my life, for the rest of
my life.  That woman is you.  I need you to answer one question and I
trust you enough that you will be honest.”

“Kevin … you …”

“What do you feel for me, Shelly?”

“You … I …”

“Is it such a difficult question, my
love?”

She looked deep into his eyes and saw
the warmth and open love in his and she gasped, then gripped his shirt at the
side of his waist.  Her smile was brilliant and her eyes glittered just as
bright as his.

“I don’t know how it happened, we
hardly know each other, but … I love you.  I love you, Kevin Burkes.”

“Shelly Watts, you are the woman I
have been searching for my whole life.  I lusted after you for
years.  When I looked into your eyes that first time, I was lost.
The day I made you mine, our fates were sealed.  I don’t care how, but we
will find a way to end your engagement.  I love you woman and I want to
marry you.  Sooner, rather than later!”

“He already ended it.”

“He what?”

“The day before he went back.  I
am not an engaged woman anymore … unless you brought a ring with!”

He took a ring box out of his pocket
with flair.  He took a step back and sank down on one knee.  He took
her hand and looked deep into her eyes.

“I love you, Shelly.  More than I
ever thought possible to love another.  I want to spend my life with
you.  I want to have children with you.  Will you marry me, Red?”

“I never thought I would have such
strong feelings for someone so quickly.  You totally took my breath away
and I have longed for you since the day you left.  My heart stopped
beating when I saw you at your office.  I do love you, Kevin.  I
would love to have your children!  Yes, my love, I will marry you.”

He slipped a beautiful marquis shaped
diamond, surrounded by brilliant round cut diamonds set on a broad band, ring
on her finger.  She stared at it with awe.  It suited her perfectly
and took her breath away.

He
pulled her closer slowly and captured her lips in a kiss so loving and so
tender her tears mingled in their kiss.

“More
babies?  Where are they all gonna sleep, Uncle Call?”

Connor stared frowningly at his
uncle.  Callum frowned and Megan and Liam laughed.  Jenna just
smiled.  Megan looked at Jenna.

“You haven’t told him?”

“I thought you would want to, besides
I thought by now you already did.”

“Well, we would have, but he ran off
with his fiancé.  Talking about that, Callum.  I sincerely trust that
you are going …”

“Already did before I fetched Jenna
home.”

“You broke the engagement?”

He nodded. “Jenna and I are getting
married.”

“I am not marrying you,
McGregor.  I already told you that!”

“What is this you wanted to tell me,
sis?”  He blatantly ignored Jenna.

“Liam and I are also expecting again.”
