Quan had the juiciest lips. She just loved kissing them.

Doing so, she ran her tongue across his upper lip. Unable to resist, Quan took her face into his hands and kissed her back with so much intensity it almost scared him. Mo released her lips from his, and made a trail of loving kisses from his lips over to his ear. Shamelessly she licked and sucked his ear lobe until he whispered a moan.

With each of her hips in his hands, Quan swiftly flipped Mo over onto her back so that he could be on top. Still holding one of her thighs, he squeezed the head of his dick and insert-ed himself deep inside. The first stroke felt heavenly as she trembled underneath him. Quan thrust slowly while watching as Mo whimpered and moaned with her eyes closed shut.

She did this so that he wouldn't see her cry. She wanted so bad to love him and leave him alone. She wanted so bad to end this addictive behavior. But with every second that passed, she craved his kisses and longed for the touch of his hand. Quan was her drug of choice. He was like her lighter to a cigarette.

He just did it for her.

Thoughts of losing the man she loved more than life itself filled her mind as Quan grinded in and out of her at a slow pace. Sensing that something was wrong, he demanded that she open her eyes. Mo did as she was told and let him see all of the pain and agony that filled her insides spill out onto her cheeks. As he wiped the tears that were falling from her eyes, Quan kissed her lips said, "What you crying for?"

"'Cause ... no matter how hard I try, I can't let you go." Quan felt the same way as he kissed her lips intensely.

Forgetting everything that had happened, he began to stroke her even harder. Overcome with emotion, she kissed him back with as much intensity as she could muster and cried harder than she ever had before.

For Me 2 Know...

Summer was ending and the chilly fall months were in full
effect.
It was Mo's favorite time of year and this fall would be even better than the last due to the fact that she was pregnant.

All of the intense non-stop lovemaking she and Quan had been doing finally paid off. Mo didn't even know she was pregnant at first.

She only realized she was when she began to feel sleepy and nauseated all the time. This would be Mo's fourth pregnancy in nine years, but this time she felt optimistic.

Something inside of her kept on saying that this time everything was gonna work out. Things with Quan had finally gotten back to normal, which was a plus, so she was sure that their baby would only strengthen their bond. Mo couldn't wait to tell Quan, so she decided to tell him as soon as he came home later that day.

He, too, seemed ecstatic, so they set up an appointment to go see her gynecologist the following week. The day of her appointment came quick and Quan was right by her side the entire time. They both were nervous. Mo sat on the examina-tion table in nothing but a hospital gown and socks, while Quan sat beside her in a roll-away chair talking on his cell phone. He was trying his best to keep his mind off the impending news from the doctor.

He just knew that they were gonna hear bad news. Quan tried to make Mo believe that he was excited about the baby, but he really wasn't. It wasn't that he didn't want her to have his child; it was just that after her second miscarriage, he had stopped getting his hopes up.

Just as he was ending his call, Mo's gynecologist Dr.

Goldstein walked in. She was a middle aged, short, Jewish woman with strawberry blond hair and a funny sense of humor. Dr. Goldstein loved Mo and Quan. Over the years she had seen the young couple go through many trials and tribulations.

Each of Mo's pregnancies had been under Dr. Goldstein's care, and every time Mo miscarried, she felt somewhat responsible. She knew how bad Mo wanted to have a baby.

Seeing the want in her eyes made Dr. Goldstein want it for her even more.

"How's my girl?" she asked, giving Mo a warm hug.

"Fine, how are you?" Mo replied, hugging her back.

"Great. I have good news for you guys," Dr. Goldstein said, giving Quan a hug, too.

"What's the news, doc?" he asked.

"Well the test results came back and you two are indeed pregnant."

"Good," Mo exclaimed, clapping her hands excited. "Ooh, I hope we have twins!"

"That would be wonderful! I do have some concerns, how-ever," Dr. Goldstein replied, looking down at her chart. "Your blood pressure is 160 over 90, which is extremely high, which means we will have to monitor you very closely. Other than that, everything else came back good!"

"Really? I haven't been stressed out about anything so I don't know what's up wit that," Mo explained.

"And you're right, you're probably not stressed about anything. Sometimes these things happen during pregnancies.

That's why, like I said, we're going to monitor you closely to ensure that you and the baby are okay. But enough of that!

You know the routine. Lie back for me so I can get a good look at that tummy."

Pulling her shirt up, Mo watched as Dr. Goldstein squeezed a cold blue substance onto her stomach. She placed a monitor onto her stomach as Mo and Quan watched as their baby's picture came onto the screen. Even though she had done this three times before, every time Mo saw her baby on the screen, it felt like the first time. She always became overjoyed with emotions. Quan didn't share in her joy, though. He just sat over to the side with a stone-cold look on his face. He wasn't about to amp himself up for failure.

"Hmm," Dr. Goldstein mumbled as she ran the monitor over Mo's lower abdomen.

"What's the problem?" Mo questioned, becoming nervous.

"It looks like you're further along than I expected."

"For real?" Quan perked up, shocked.

"Yes it looks like ... she's about three months."

"Oh my God. I told you this time it was gonna be different," Mo bragged, hitting Quan in the arm.

"So, doc, does this mean this time she'll be able to carry full term?"

"I don't wanna get your hopes up, but it looks like it." She smiled, wiping the gel off of Mo's stomach.

"You both know we've never even gotten this far, so what I'm gonna do is prescribe Mo some high blood pressure medication. I want you to take one tablet by mouth daily and I'm also gonna prescribe you some prenatal vitamins. Since your pressure is up and you're also considered high risk due to your past miscarriages, I'm going to insist that you be on bed rest, too."

"Bed rest? Come on, doc, you know I can't do that."

"Well if you want this baby, you're gonna have to. You do want this baby, don't you?"

"Of course I do, but I just can't see myself lying up in a bed for the next six months."

"I don't know what to tell you, Monsieur. You're going to have to learn to adjust. Also, you're going to have to watch what you eat. Quan, it's your job to make sure that she doesn't eat any fatty foods. I also want you to watch her salt intake."

"Oh my God, I have to sit in the bed all day and night and I can't eat what I want?" Mo whined.

"You gotta do what you gotta do, ma. If the doc says no fatty foods and bed rest, then that's what you gon' do," Quan said sternly.

"Thank you, Quan. Hopefully you can talk some sense into her. Now I've got to get going, I have another patient waiting on me in the other room. I'll see
you
," Dr. Goldstein directed her attention to Mo, "in two weeks, missy. Here's your pre-scription." The entire ride home, Mo pouted and complained. She couldn't fathom going six months without eating her favorite foods like McDonald's and Sweetie Pie's. The girl was greedy for real. Just the thought of the delicious food made her hungry. Besides that, there was no way she was going to be posted up in bed like an old decrepit woman for six months.

Mo was the type of person that became bored at the drop of a hat. Sure, she would love catching up on her favorite soap opera, "
General Hospital
," but that would surely become boring after awhile. To make matters worse, Quan was already treating her like an invalid.

He wouldn't let her walk by herself; every step she made he was there to hold her hand. Then, when they arrived home, instead of walking up the steps by herself, he carried her. Mo could only laugh because she knew deep down inside he meant well.

"Now get up in this bed," he instructed, pulling the covers back.

"But I don't wanna lay down," she pouted like a five-year-old child.

"Will you quit whining?"

"I would think you would be on my side."

"Not when it comes to the health of you and my child, I'm not."

"Traitor!"

"Yeah, whateva, think what you wanna think, but I know one thing, you won't be saying that when we have a big ole fat healthy girl." He smiled, kneeling down on the side of the bed.

"How you know it's gon' be a girl?"

"'Cause I know. Now what you want to eat?"

"I don't know," Mo shrugged as her cell phone began to ring. By the ringtone she knew it was Boss. The two had been keeping in touch, and had even kicked it a few more times, but now that Mo was pregnant, she was more determined than ever to end her relationship with him. She enjoyed their conversations, but it was time for her to dead things between them before either of their feelings got involved.

"You gon' answer it?" he questioned as he watched her stare at the phone.

"Nah, it's only Delicious. I'll call him back later." "So what you want to eat?"

"A double cheeseburger with no pickles and no onions from McDonald's."

"You wish. Now for real, what you want?"

"A double cheeseburger. I ain't playin'," Mo replied, dead serious.

"That ain't happening."

"Come on, Quan, don't do me like that. Let me just have one more burger, please," she pleaded, giving him her saddest puppy dog face. "I'll suck yo' dick."

"Yo, you stupid." Quan cracked up laughing. "You sound like a straight up crack head, for real. Now what I will do is fix you a grilled cheese sandwich with a bowl of tomato soup to go with it," he reasoned.

"I don't want that, sound like some goddamn cafeteria food."

"Well that's what you eatin' so quit trippin'."

"Ahhhh man, I thought you was my friend."

"I'm more than yo' friend, I'm yo' man," he said, gently kissing her lips. "That's why I'm lookin' out for your well being, ma. Stop giving me a hard time. I know these next couple months gon' be hard, but we'll get through it. So lay back and relax while I go fix this food."

"Okay." Mo smiled as he left the room. As soon as Quan was out of earshot, she sneaked out of bed, picked up her phone and called Boss back.

"What's poppin', ma?" he answered on the second ring.

"Hey." She spoke in a low tone.

"What you doing? You sleep?"

"Nah, I'm woke." She smiled, savoring the sound of his deep, raspy voice.

"Ole boy around you?"

"Nah, he's downstairs."

"Check it. I'm tryin' to see you tonight."

"I can't."

Disappointed by her reply, Boss held the phone.

"Look Boss, I'ma keep it funky wit you. You're a cool dude and if I wasn't engaged I would take it there wit you but--"

"Shorty, you ain't gotta explain nothing to me," he replied, cutting her off. "I respect the fact that you're tryin' to be faithful. As a matter of fact, that makes me dig you even more. So let's just say ... I'ma let that nigga have you for now ... but trust and believe as soon as that nigga fuck up I'ma be right there waiting patiently to take his place."

"Thanks, Boss."

"No problem, shorty. Keep it sexy. I'ma holla at you later." Mo inhaled deeply and pressed the end button on her cell phone. She hated the fact that she had to end her relationship with Boss, but it was for the best. If she kept things going, feelings would eventually get involved and neither of them needed that. From the jump, fuckin' wit Boss was a mistake.

Her knees buckled every time he spoke. She felt nervous around him. If she kept things going, he had a very high chance of winning her heart and Mo couldn't risk that. She was in love with Quan. Nothing and no one could change that. That following Sunday, Quan let Mo out the house so they could go visit his mother. Over the years, Nicky had become a mother figure to Mo and her brother Cam. She even called her mama. As usual, like any other Sunday afternoon, Quan's entire family was over.

As Mo walked into the house, a sense of calm came over her. The house that Quan set his mother up in was exquisite.

It was made of white stone with three different levels. The floors were made of Virginia Vintage wood and chandeliers hung from the ceiling of each room. Mo always felt at peace when she was around Quan's family.

Making her way into the kitchen, she found Quan's mother hovering over the stove. She was stylishly dressed in a short-sleeved linen top, jeans and wedge heels.

Her brown sugar skin complexion showed no sign of wrinkles or stress, even though all her life she had to struggle. The outlines of her eyes were shaped like almonds while her nose and lips were full and round. Thick, jet black hair filled her head and rested delicately on her shoulders. Nicky Mitchell was beautiful. Mo hoped she would look as half as good as Nicky when she got to be her age.
