developed the system, which I use often, to develop positive affirmations to program our dreams, and at

the same time have an effect on our waking life.

Here is how it works: If you’re looking for a change and know exactly which power thought serves the

purpose then go straight to the relevant page. If you are looking for a general pick me up or you are not

sure what will quench your uneasiness choose a page at random. Write the power thought down, read it to

yourself and then place it under your pillow. As you are falling asleep keep repeating this power thought

as many times as you can. When you wake up, the very first thing you do is repeat the power thought. This

is a very powerful way of reinforcing affirmations. I’ve chosen a few of the affirmations that I use

regularly from Leon’s card deck that have worked for me.

Make your own power thoughts… At the end of the book are some personal power thoughts that I have

written myself. You can create your own too, specifically to suit your needs. Here are some guidelines to

create an effective power thought:

- Choose a phrase that describes what you desire. Short powerful statements work much better than

long drawn out paragraphs.

- Your statement must be in the present tense. For example use: ‘I am passionate about school/my

career’ instead of ‘I will be passionate about school/ my career’. The first is working on changing

your present circumstances while the latter indicates some point in the future and that might leave

you always waiting!

- Your power thought should always stem from a positive perspective instead of a negative one. For

example, don’t use ‘I don’t like my career when I’m not passionate about it’, as this places your

career in a negative light. Always phrase your power thoughts in a positive way. ‘I’m always

passionate about my career’ is much stronger.

- Your power thought should always be said in the first person, which is ‘I’. This is because the

power thought is always about you. You can’t use a power thought about another person because you

can only affect your own reality. Happiness has to come from within you before it can extend to and

from other people.

Keep moving … anything is possible… Keep this book close to you: on your bedside table, in your bag,

on your desk. Choose a power thought or several every morning and decide which one will keep you

moving towards your goals and dreams today.

A lot of the thoughts and ideas in this book have come not only from my experiences but also from the

wisdom of others. Being only 27 years old, I still have a lot of life experiences ahead of me and I’m sure I

will come across a lot more challenges along the way. Life is a continuous journey and there will always

be more lessons to learn, more journeys to take and more people who will impact on my life in various

ways. I know what I have learned so far and will learn in the future will help to guide me throughout my

life.

I hope that some of these thoughts resonate with you the way they resonated with me when they came

across my path and help you get through the challenges you may face along your way. Like the butterfly,

always remember that there is something beautiful waiting on the other side no matter how much

resistance you encounter.

And always remember, when you Treasure Yourself, life will reflect that back to you.

My mum used to make my brother and I special cakes

for our birthdays. This was my 3rd Birthday.

I was about 10 and a half in this photo and I was going to my first ever

school dance. I was so nervous. At this time I hadn’t fully accepted

myself for who I was. I felt self conscious and quite shy.

One of my first ever photoshoots. This was for

DOLLY Magazine. I was nearly 14. I still hadn’t come into my

own yet but was starting to break through my shell.

Nan and Pa have blessed my life in more ways than I could

possibly imagine. They are amazing, beautiful people

and I love them both so much.

This is one of my favourite photos of Chrisso and I (my first boyfriend).

It was taken in 1998 at his family’s home about 5 months before he died.

Frankie and I in New York City not long after I moved

to New York. Frankie is such a beautiful little soul.
