“No. This isn’t something easy for me to digest. Duke’s been worried about this … man, and now that man turns out to be my father.” Holly shook her head. “This is the same man that got Winter hurt. This is not happening.”

Duke followed his wife down the long path toward the waiting car. Once inside, Holly leaned against him. “It’s bad, isn’t it?” she asked.

“Not that bad.”

“How do you figure?” Holly asked.

“You’re Abelli’s long-lost daughter.”

“Great, a daughter to the mafia. Fucked up.”

“Maybe he’ll be more considerate to the club seeing as he’s found you.”

“Found me? No one has found me, Duke.”

Duke held his hand out. “I reached out to Abelli.”

“Against Clinton?”

“No, against Russ.”

“What did you do?”

“I organized a meeting, him and me. I want to take you with me.”

“This is dangerous.”

“The fallout from Winter and Russ could kill the entire club. Please, see it from my side.”

Holly sighed. “We’ve had too good a life.”

“That life is not over. I have a plan, babe. I always have a plan.”

Epilogue

Three months later

Beth waved at Knuckles watching as he came out of the ocean. They had been married for three months, but with commitments, and club crap, they had only just gotten away on their honeymoon.

Knuckles ran toward her, and she giggled as he lifted her up in his arms and carried her out to the waiting sea. She laughed, screamed, and tried to get away, but he dropped her down into the water before she could.

“You monster,” she said, swimming toward him, and trying to duck him under. He couldn’t let that happen, and she ended back under. He released her, and rushed out of the ocean, and she charged after him.

Throwing herself into his arms, Knuckles twirled her, pressing his lips against her.

Once they finished messing around, Beth collapsed to the sand, panting for breath. “Are you going to tell me what the call was about with Duke?” she asked.

Beth had only heard one side of it, but she knew it was bad. Knuckles hadn’t stayed around long, rushing outside into the open water.

“Shit’s going down at the club, and he wanted to warn me.”

“We’re not due back ‘til next week.”

“He wants me back early for the club. He needs me there.”

Beth let out a sigh. Since her marriage, the club had been … tense. They had discovered that Holly and Duke had met with Abelli, along with a few other interesting facts. Beth felt sorry for Holly, as she had just realized the man she’d been calling a father, wasn’t him.

“What do you want to do?” she asked.

“I want to stay and enjoy my honeymoon. The club though, I’m needed there.”

Resting her chin on his shoulder, she smiled up at him. “I’ve already booked he tickets, Knuckles. I told you I’d never make you pick between me and the club, and I won’t do it now.”

“We’re going back home?” he asked.

“Home is wherever you are, and if that is on a beautiful romantic beach, in a clubhouse, our apartment, or a dump, providing I’m with you, I don’t give a damn.”

He pulled her into his arms, and she giggled. “How did I get so lucky?” he asked.

“Maybe you’ve been asking for me in your dreams, and they were finally answered.”

Knuckles pulled her down, kissing her. Their relationship would survive anything. She loved and trusted him. Beth would do anything for him, and he anything for her. Sometimes the club would take priority, but it would be with her he slept, with her that he talked, and with her that he spent the rest of his days with.

For the rest of their lives.
