Now he could see that he hadn’t struck a blow at all. Rose was damaged. She was tainted and tangled and twisted. She would need time to heal, and she would need closure. And he decided right then, right there, that he would give her the closure that she needed.

“We left the job unfinished,” he said. “I’m going back. I’m going to finish it.”

“What do you mean?”

“I’m going to go back and get the men that hurt you.”

“Oh no, Josh. Don’t. I’ll be alright. I just need time to process everything that happened. I’ll be alright. I promise.”

He knew she was scared. He knew she didn’t want him to go back to Val-d’Or. She didn’t want him to go anywhere near that place. And he understood that. After all she’d been through, all that trauma and torture, it was completely understandable. But there was no choice. How could she hope to come to terms with what had happened to her if someone didn’t bring the men responsible to justice?

Josh knew better than most people the importance of justice and retribution. He’d spent ten years living with the knowledge that the man who shot his father was still out there. He knew about the corrosive power that such knowledge had. The victim couldn’t heal until justice had been served. That was how it had been for him. Until he’d caught up with Rex Savage and punished him for shooting his father, his own life hadn’t been whole. He’d felt like he was only half a man. He’d known that he could never live a full life, a complete life, while his father’s killer was on the loose.

And deep within himself, he knew that it was the same for Rose. She would beg him not to go, not to risk his life for her again, but it had to be done. She would never be able to live a whole, full, healthy life knowing that the men who’d taken her, who’d kidnapped her and deprived her of her freedom so completely and so brutally, were still walking the streets of Val-d’Or.

Someone had to do something about it, and that someone was him.

“Listen, Rose. I know you didn’t want this, but you’re right. You need to be able to move forward in your life. You need to be able to heal.”

“I know that, Josh. That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you.”

“And I want to help you.”

He looked at her and he could see that she was beginning to regain her composure. Her breathing was more measured and controlled.

“I don’t want you to do anything that will get you hurt,” she said.

“I know,” he said. “But something has to be done. I know how this works. I know you need to overcome what they did to you, and you’ll never be able to do that without justice.”

“You’re right, Josh. But isn’t there some way we can do this without getting you killed?”

He looked at her and shook his head. He loved her so much. He couldn’t believe that after a lifetime of living alone in the world he’d finally found someone like her. She was beautiful and kind and thoughtful and intelligent. He knew that what had happened to her at the hands of the DRMC wasn’t her fault and he would never hold it against her. All he wanted was to give her the best possible chance of overcoming that dark past, and there was no way she could do that unless he stepped in.

“I’m not going to get killed,” he said. He had no idea if that was true or not but he was trying to comfort her. “All I know is that this has to be done. We have to go back and get those men. You deserve that much, Rose.”

OSE REACHED OUT AND TOUCHED
his face. He had stubble but apart from that his skin was so smooth. She could have sat there all day looking at his face, his eyes. They sparkled like glass.

She couldn’t believe that he was willing to do so much for her. He was willing to risk his life, yet again, for her sake. But she couldn’t allow that. She couldn’t let him risk his life. She couldn’t let him get hurt. She needed him.

She took his face in both her hands and pulled him toward her. His lips met hers and she tried to breathe in his breath. She tried to inhale the very essence of him. She pressed her soft lips against his and let the tip of his tongue touch her teeth. Then she met his tongue with hers and let them dance together deliciously. She leaned in toward him. She wanted to be closer to him. She wanted her body to press up against his. She wanted it all. She wanted every bit of him.

She was so conflicted. Her mind was wavering back and forth on so many things and she was afraid she was going to make a mess of everything.

Did she want him or did she want to take the time she needed to process everything that had happened to her?

Did she want revenge or did she want to keep Josh safe?

Did she want to hide out in Chazel or did she want to go back and face the DRMC?

She didn’t know. She didn’t know the answer to any of those questions. She just kept wavering back and forth. She wanted Josh so badly. He brought his hands up to her breasts and squeezed her gently through the thin cotton of her shirt.

“Wait,” she said.

What was she doing? She knew she was sending mixed signals. She was the one who’d started kissing him and now she was breaking it off.

“I’m sorry, Josh. I’m just so confused.”

“It’s okay, Rose. I understand. That’s why I want to help.”

“I know,” she said. “I’m just really terrified that you’ll get hurt. I couldn’t live with myself if I knew that something bad had happened to you because of me.”

He was holding her face in his hands. She’d broken off their kiss but his mouth was just inches from hers. She wanted to lean forward and taste it again. She wanted all of him. She wanted to feel him inside her.

She looked into his eyes. She reached out and traced his lips with her fingers. She knew she was making a mistake, she knew things were already moving too fast and that she wasn’t in control of her emotions, but she just couldn’t help it. She didn’t have the strength to make the tough decisions she needed to make. She didn’t have the strength to fight anymore. She was tired. She just wanted it all to be over. She wanted her past to be behind her so that she could move on and start a life with Josh.

“Take me,” she whispered.

Josh let her finger enter his mouth. He looked at her, his stare intense and deadly serious.

“Are you sure?”

She wasn’t sure. She was anything but sure. She didn’t know what she was doing. One minute she was telling him that she needed to slow things down, she needed time and space to heal, and the next she was telling him to take her. She wasn’t making any sense. She was unraveling.

“I’m sure,” she said.

He looked at her questioningly. He was having a hard time reading her. She knew that. She knew it was her fault. She was giving him mixed signals. She was going to mess things up with him. She knew it. Either he was going to think she was too much of a slut for giving it up so easily, for having been a prostitute and a stripper, or he was going to get confused because she kept saying she wanted him and then telling him she didn’t. She felt like she was walking a tightrope. Whatever she did was going to be a mistake.

She leaned in to him and felt his large, strong hands going down her back. She put her hands on his waist and pulled at the belt of his jeans. He pulled her shirt up over her head and threw it to the ground. She faced him, her bare breasts in plain view. He glanced at them hungrily before looking into her eyes.

“Are you sure you’re ready for this?” he said.

Rose pushed through her own barriers. She silenced the voices in her head that were telling her to take things slow.

“I’m ready,” she said. “Just take me now. I’m yours.”

She wanted to be his. She wanted that more than anything in the world.

Josh leaned forward and put his mouth over one of her pert, pink nipples. She sighed in pleasure as he sucked on her. The electricity of sexual stimulation began to flow through her and the voices in her head lost their force. She leaned back on the bed and looked up at him.

“What are you waiting for?” she said.

He seemed concerned, nervous even, but he reached under her with his strong, muscular arm and lifted her up from the bed. He moved her toward the center of it and lay her back down. She had her shirt off but he was still fully clothed.

“Take off your shirt,” she said to him.

He pulled it off and she swooned at the sight of his chest. His body was perfectly formed, like a chiseled statue. She reached up and touched the muscles on his chest and abdomen. Then she began to open the buckle of his belt. She got it open. He was kneeling above her, looking down at her, and she reached inside his jeans and pulled out his magnificent, throbbing penis. It was like a treasure. When she saw Josh’s penis it almost made her dizzy. It was the one thing in the world she wanted more than anything else. She wanted him so badly that she could feel her pussy moistening inside her pants.

“God,” she whispered, “you’re huge.”

Josh smiled at her and then pulled down her pants. He got them to her ankles and she kicked them off. She was completely naked now, completely exposed to his gaze. She’d been in this position so many times, with so many men, but this didn’t feel the same at all. She felt a thrill of excitement with Josh. It was as if it was her first time all over again. She felt she was getting a chance to start over with him. If only the DRMC hadn’t done all those awful things to her.

They’d ruined her. She saw Josh staring lovingly down at her vagina and suddenly she felt dirty. She felt ashamed of all the things that had been done to her, all the men who’d been inside her. She felt like her body was a garbage dump and all those men had used her to dump their loads. She felt disgusting.

She didn’t know what to do. She didn’t want Josh to look at her any more. She thought he was going to go down on her and she had to stop him. She got up and held him.

“Lie down,” she whispered to him.

Josh lay down on his back and Rose tried to hide the fear that she was feeling. She didn’t want him to know what a mess she was inside. She didn’t want him to know how turbulent and unstable she felt. She wanted to make love to him. She wanted him to be in love with her. She wanted the past to disappear as quickly as possible. If she could just force her way through her feelings she might be able to make it through to the other side.

She pulled Josh’s jeans and shorts off and flung them across the room. His cock was pointing up at her like a rocket, ready for launch. He was hungry for her. She could see that.

She put her mouth down to the head of his cock and touched it gently with her lips.

“Oh God,” Josh sighed.

She opened her mouth and let the length of his shaft slide deep into her mouth. Josh sighed in pleasure. He liked that. She knew it was what he wanted. As long as she could give him what he wanted she would be able to keep him. That was the name of the game, wasn’t it? That was the way relationships worked between a man and a woman. She would give him what he wanted and he would overlook the fact that she was sullied and tainted and dirty. He would overlook the fact that she’d been a whore. That’s what she told herself.

She drove her mouth down onto his cock as far as it could go. Her face was in his pubes, pressed against him, and his cock was far back in her throat. She moved her head back and forth slowly, trying to keep his cock as far inside her mouth as possible. She would make him come with her mouth. That way he wouldn’t have to go near her disgusting pussy. He deserved better than that. He deserved so much more than her.

“Rose,” Josh said as she moved her head rhythmically back and forth on his cock.

She had him far back in her throat, so far that she wanted to gag, but she kept moving her head back and forth, faster and faster.

“Rose,” Josh said again. “Are you alright?”

She started slamming her face down into him as she tried to move faster and faster, up and down his cock like a whore giving a twenty-dollar blow job.

“Rose, stop it.”

She couldn’t stop. She had to please him. She had to keep him. She couldn’t let him realize how ruined she was. How nasty she was. How worthless she was.

She slammed her head up and down, up and down, almost gagging herself on his cock. She wanted him to fuck her face as hard as he wanted. She wanted him to feel pleasure. She wanted him to come.

“Stop it right now,” Josh said, louder. He was sitting up and holding her by the shoulders.

But she didn’t stop. She just kept gagging herself on his ripe, massive cock.

“I don’t want this,” he said. “Not like this.”

No! She couldn’t lose him. She couldn’t let him think like that. She had to make him come. She could make him come all over her face. He’d like that. Men liked that. That was what they wanted. They wanted to come on girls. They wanted their sticky, white, gooey semen to squirt all over girls’ faces, their bodies, their pussies. They wanted to fuck girls and use them like animals and slaves. They wanted to rob them of dignity. That was what she was for. That was all she had to offer him. She couldn’t risk losing him.

How could she go on without him? How could she live without him? The DRMC would find her and kill her. She needed Josh. She needed him to love her. And for that, she needed to make him come all over her face.

“Rose, please stop.”

She couldn’t stop. He was trying to hold her now, to stop her from jamming her mouth down on his penis like a demented whore. Now she knew she’d ruined everything. He didn’t want her. He didn’t even want to come on her anymore. She was worthless to him. Worthless to everyone. She wasn’t even worth coming on. She was so disgusting that he didn’t even want to come on her face.

She was crying. She only just realized it. Tears were streaming down her face. She gasped for air. Josh held her back, his enormous strength preventing her from driving her mouth down on his cock any more. He didn’t want her. She cried out. She sobbed and could no longer hold back the tears.

“Rose. You’re alright.”

“You don’t want me,” she cried.

“Rose, that’s not it.”

“I disgust you. I know I do. Just let me make you come, please.”

“Rose, calm down.”

He was holding her now, trying to calm her, but she couldn’t be calmed. She was a mess. Her mind was racing in a million directions, but mostly it was fixating on one, simple fact. He didn’t want her. He didn’t even want to come on her face. She was so worthless to him that he didn’t even want that much.
