Once they had gotten back to the rental shop, they grabbed their clothes and began making their way back to where they had left their bikes.
“Wha’dya say we go back to the house, shower up, and then I’ll grill us something to eat out on the patio?” he kissed her temple as he walked along beside her.
“Sounds perfect,” she sighed just as they approached the bikes.
ooooooooo
Once they arrived back at the house, Austin sent Melanie in to clean up while he began preparing their dinner. He’d had someone stock the fridge and pantry with plenty of food before they arrived. Now he just needed to take stock and see what he had to work with.
He pulled a chilled bottle of wine, some chicken, and a fresh pineapple out of the fridge. After digging around a little, he found enough stuff to make a marinade and also some fresh beans. He surveyed his loot as he grabbed a cutting board and some pots and pans. Austin had always enjoyed cooking, especially fresh food. It was hard to find a lot of that in the winter though, this was a nice change. He tossed the pineapple and the chicken in the marinade, grabbed a set of tongs, and made his way out to the patio.
After lighting the grill, he went back in to put the beans on the boil. Melanie was just coming out of the shower when he rounded the corner. She stood there watching him at the stove still in his swim trunks.
“I can do that if you want to change,” she called in his direction.
“That’s ok,” he called back. “I’ll change later.”
As he turned to head back out to the grill, she slid back in the shadows of the hallway to watch him. The muscles in his back flexed as he moved and bent around the grill. He had pulled his t-shirt off and tossed it on a chair. His tanned chest and abs glistened slightly from the sticky sea air, and his hair was going in every direction possible from their jet ski adventure. Her eyes trailed over so slowly it was almost like she was in a trance. She shook her head to bring herself back to the present. She couldn’t ever remember being this captivated with a man. Even with Sean, she hadn’t zoned out like that. Austin just held some kind of power over her. She began to turn and go back to the bedroom when she heard him.
“You know you can always take a picture if you want too,” his teasing lilt drifted through the air. He turned towards her. “It’ll last longer. Want me to pose for you?” he flexed his arms and grinned at her. Even when she didn’t make a sound, he always knew she was there. It was like they were connected by an invisible string that went from one body to the other.
She giggled at his antics and shook her head at him. “How do you always know I’m there?”
He shrugged, “Guess I’m just good like that.”
She laughed and made her way back to the bedroom to dress. Deciding to join in on his playfulness, she grabbed a soft cotton sundress. It had wide straps at the top like a tank top, but flared out at the waist. It was a soft blue and came to right above her knees. She grabbed a lacy blue bra and matching panties. As she was dressing she snickered to herself and tossed the panties back in her luggage. She remembered his teasing from earlier and figured she’d have some fun with him tonight.
After pulling a brush through her hair, she tied it back with a band and made her way back to the patio. When she got out there, Austin was in the process of pulling the chicken off the grill.
“What’s on the menu tonight, chef?” she smiled at him.
“Grilled chicken with pineapple and fresh steamed green beans,” he placed a plate of chicken in front of her.
“Smells wonderful,” she sniffed the air.
“Help yourself. I’ll be right back,” he pointed to the plates on the table.
After he went back in the house, Melanie seated herself at the table and began filling her plate. Within a matter of moments, Austin reemerged with the bottle of wine and two glasses. He popped the cork and began filling each glass with the fruity liquid.
Dinner was spent in quiet conversation as the newlyweds devoured their dinner. The day out on the beach and the water had them quite hungry. As he began clearing the dishes, Austin noticed that Melanie had a far off look on her face. It was almost like she was having an internal dialogue and wasn’t sure she should voice it.
“You ok?” he nudged her elbow as he was coming to sit back down.
“Sure, why?” she glanced absentmindedly in his direction.
“Ya got that look,” he pointed at her and smiled. “It’s like ya want to say something, but you’re afraid.”
She smiled at him. “How do you know me so well already? It’s like you know all my tells.”
“I love ya. I’m supposed to know all your tells,” he smiled. “What’s wrong? You know you can tell me anything, right?”
She sighed and wiped her hand down her face. “Well, I guess I should have thought about this before now, but…I was wondering…do you want any more kids?”
Austin smiled and chuckled under his breath. He was prepared for the worst and it was cute how worried she was about this. They hadn’t talked about it, and he had no idea what kind of birth control she’d been using. He assumed she’d been using something, because he sure wasn’t.
“I shouldn’t have said anything. I’m sorry for bringing it up now,” she mumbled.
This caught him completely off guard, “There’s nothing to be sorry about. We should talk about this.” He smiled and reached for to come sit in his lap. “Do you want more kids?”
“Well, I don’t know,” she ran her hands down his chest. “I mean the girls are almost grown. We’d be starting all over with a new baby, but I can’t help but think about having a child with you.”
He leaned in and kissed her softly. “Why don’t we just wait and see what happens. I mean…if we get pregnant, then we’ll have a baby. If we don’t, then we won’t.” He moved closer to her ear and whispered, “There’s nothing I’d like more than to have a baby with you. To know that part of me is growing inside you, something that we created out of love together.”
She smiled at the look in his eyes as he confessed this to her.
Shifting on his lap, she wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned closer to him. “You know…I think we’re off to a good start. I can stop taking the pill and we’ll see what happens.”
“I like the sound of that…lots of practice,” he leaned in and placed a kiss to the side of her neck as his hand slid up her thigh.
As the kiss grew deeper, his hand moved higher. When he reached the area where he should have felt panties, he released a hiss. “You aren’t wearing any underwear.”
“Surprise,” she moaned as she deepened the kiss even more.
He shifted in the chair and began to stand, taking her with him. “Let’s take this inside.”
She grinned as he stalked in the direction of the bedroom with purpose. Tonight’s lovemaking would have new meaning. It would be the beginning of what they both hoped would lead to a child in the future. Even though it was highly unlikely that a baby would be made tonight, it was the thought that one was in the near future that drove the passion that poured out of them.
The waves crashing just outside their window were no match for the sounds of pleasure that drifted through the house.
Chapter 28
Final Day of the Honeymoon…
In the early hours of their final day in paradise, Melanie lay awake pondering the last few days. It had been more than she could have imagined. This trip, the wedding, all the things that Austin had managed to make her feel… She couldn’t remember the last time she’d felt such pure bliss. He’d spent every minute making sure that she was having the time of her life. They’d gone snorkeling yesterday, and had seen some beautiful coral reefs. The jet ski ride was the most thrilling thing she’d ever done. As she thought about how unsure she was about riding it that day, a shiver ran up her spine. Austin knew exactly what to say to relax her and she trusted him fully.
She rolled to her side slightly as she drifted in and out of sleep. She and Austin had been up late last night making love into the wee hours of the morning. He was still fast asleep beside her. With this being their last day in paradise, she’d been awake for a while trying to remember everything that she’d experienced over the last several days.
A soft breeze blew through the air as the curtains of the gauzy canopy fluttered around her. She could hear the gulls in the distance on the beach. The sun was just starting to rise causing a purple and pink haze to filter into the room. She sighed as she shifted slightly. She wasn’t ready to wake him up. She knew he was tired, but the fact that his hand was placed precariously on her thigh was killing her at the moment.
She shook her head. What was wrong with her? When she first married Sean, it was nothing like this. They, of course, were younger and still trying to finish school. Their honeymoon had been a quick one, only going to the local beach for the weekend. This was so different. Austin was like a dream. She secretly wondered what it would be like tomorrow when reality came crashing back down around them.
“
What’s bothering you,” Austin mumbled beside her, causing her to flinch.
“I thought you were sleeping,” she whispered.
“That’s kinda hard when you’re laying there worrying,” he smiled sleepily.
“I’m sorry, go back to sleep,” she sighed and turned slightly toward him.
The movement caused his hand to slide toward the inside of her thigh. She stopped and froze waiting to see what his reaction would be. At first he did nothing, then his thumb began to slide from side to side.
“What’s bothering you…tell me, please?” he opened his eyes and stared deep into hers while releasing a yawn.
“You’re tired, go back to sleep. I’ll tell you later,” she reached up to move a lock of hair off his forehead.
His hand began to move more in a caressing motion. “I couldn’t go back to sleep now even if I wanted to.”
He removed his hand from her thigh and reached to pull her closer to him. She relaxed into his embrace and began tracing soft circles with her hand on his chest.
“I’m just worried that things will change when we get back home. I mean, we both have to go back to work,” she huffed. “The girls have school. I don’t want what we have here to change,” she kissed his shoulder and looked up into his eyes.
“Why would anything change?” he wrinkled his brow.
“I don’t know. I feel like I’m living in a dream. What happens when I wake up from it?” she mumbled.
“Who says you have to?” he placed a finger under her chin causing her to look up into his eyes. “I love you, and I’m going to make sure you know that for the rest of your life.”
“Oh Austin, I love you, too,” she leaned in placing a soft kiss to his lips.
As the kiss deepened, she slowly ran her hands up his chest locking them around his neck. He skimmed his hand down her back cupping her bottom and pulling her closer. As his hand slid further down towards her thigh, she groaned and shifted her hips. Her breathing was coming in short pants as he trailed light kisses down her neck and across her collarbone. She shifted her leg so it wrapped around his hips and began dragging her nails softly down his back. He groaned as he brought his mouth back to hers making sweeping motions with his tongue.
“Mmmmm,” he broke the kiss. “This doesn’t have to end. Ever…do you hear me?” he gasped. “Never!” He crashed into her mouth again and moved to roll onto his back effectively pulling her with him.
“Never,” she whispered against his lips.
She shifted on top of him so she was straddling his hips and drug her nails down his chest. As she rocked against him, she could feel him hard and ready against her bottom. He reached up to cup her breasts while she lifted herself up and sunk down onto him. Her teeth clamped down on her lower lip as her head dropped back.
“Mmmmm,” she moaned as she began to rock harder.
“That’s right baby,” he ground out, “you like that don’t you?”
She leaned forward and trailed kisses across his chest as she ran her fingers up through his hair. His hand came to wrap around her, running softly down her back to cup her bottom.
He reached up and brushed her hair back from her ear and whispered, “Lay beside me. I want to try something.”
She looked up in a clouded haze as he rubbed the spot on the bed beside them. Releasing the grip she had on his hips, she slid off him and laid down on her stomach. Austin got up on his knees over her and nudged her thighs apart. He leaned down and ran his hand between her thighs feeling the wetness.
“Mmmmm, never has to end,” he mumbled as he lowered his hips and entered her from behind.
She tightened herself around him and gasped as he thrust himself deeper. The new angle brought out all sorts of new sensations. She could feel more of him. The way his body draped over hers was even more of a turn on. She rocked her hips up and ground her bottom into him.
“Arggg,” he groaned as he reached around and wrapped his arm around her middle.
He pulled her up onto her knees and grabbed her hips in each hand.
“Is this what you want?” he demanded. “Tell me you want this.”
“I want this,” she moaned.
“Like this?” he began to slow down almost pulling himself from her body.
She groaned in frustration, “No!”
“What do you want?” he ran a hand up her side reaching around to squeeze a breast.
“You…all of you,” she panted.
“Like this?” he slammed into her causing her body to rock forward. “Is that what you want?”
“Yes,” she gasped as she gripped the sheets harder in her fists. “Harder…faster…more,” she moaned.
“You got me,” he began pounding into her, “all of me, all the time.”
Sweat began to bead across his forehead as he continued his relentless pace. Melanie screamed and gasped as she felt her orgasm making it’s way to the surface. Austin had her hips in a vice grip as plunged deeper and deeper with every stroke.
“Argggg Melanie,” he roared as he spilled himself into her.
When she felt him fall over the edge, she went with him. Her body began convulsing and tightening around him.
“Austin…Ahhhh,” she screamed as her legs began to shake and soon caused her to collapse onto the bed.
Both lay motionless and panting for a few minutes while they tried to catch their breath.
“This never has to change, ever,” he reinforced as he leaned over and kissed her temple.
“Mmmmm,” she sighed and closed her eyes.
Even though the sun was now up in the sky announcing that it was morning, the two lovers began to drift into a deep sated sleep. As her breathing began to slow and move in to a rhythmic pattern, Austin pulled the covers over them.
“Sleep, we’ll get up later,” he whispered as he snuggled up to her back and pulled her flush with him.
oooooooo
Around noon she slowly began to come out of the most wonderful dream. As she began to blink her eyes against the harsh sunlight, she glanced around the room. A slight panic began to set in when she realized that she was in bed alone. A rumpled pillow and bunched up sheets were the only sign that Austin had been there. She slowly slid to a sitting position and took in her surroundings. A discarded t-shirt caught her eye, and she stood up to collect it. After pulling it on, she dug through her luggage for a pair of panties and made her way out to the living space.
As she crept down the hall, she began to hear whistling. Pausing in the doorway, she watched Austin at the stove. He appeared to be deep in thought as he stood stirring something. He’d obviously been down to the beach. His hair was damp and tousled and he was wearing his board shorts. His bare back glistened in the light filtering through the slider as he swayed from side to side. Melanie smiled and began to tiptoe closer trying not to alert him of her presence. When she made it over to the breakfast bar, she slid herself quietly onto a barstool. She sat and watched as he continued to think he was alone. After several minutes, he turned to get something out of the fridge and caught a glimpse of her from the corner of his eye.
“
Man you scared me,” he gasped when he caught sight of her.
“I was just admiring the view,” she giggled. “What are you up to?”
“Well I thought that was obvious, but I’m making us some lunch,” he smirked.
“Lunch,” she cocked her head to the side. “What about breakfast?”
“It’s noon babe, breakfast time is long gone. I was wondering if you were going to get up,” he chuckled.
Melanie blushed, “I guess I must have been more tired than I thought, I wonder why?”
“I don’t have the faintest idea,” he grinned. “Here, eat up.”
He placed a plate in front of her with some pasta and marinara sauce, “This should help.”
“Thanks, it looks delicious,” she smiled.
“I thought maybe after lunch we could spend the day on the beach. Seeing that we have to leave tomorrow I thought that you might want to be outside as much as possible. I know when we get back to Boston, we’re going be dealing with snow again,” he frowned slightly.
“What’s with the glum face?” she pouted. “I’m sure there’s plenty of indoor activities that we can engage in until spring,” she gave him a wicked smiled.
“I’m sure there are,” he moved behind her and placed a kiss on the side of her neck. “Now eat,” he pushed the plate closer to her.
ooooooooo
“
Do you really have to wear that one?” Austin glanced over at Melanie as she continued to rub sunscreen on her body.
“What’s wrong with this one?” she cocked her head to the side and grinned at him.
“I think you know,” he pouted.
“I think it looks good,” she moved to her stomach and rubbed the lotion in.
“Yeah, too good,” he groaned as he flopped down on his towel. “There’s people in the water today so I can’t touch you. Then you decide to wear that one. You’re not playing fair,” he mumbled.
She smiled to herself as she began rubbing the lotion across her chest. She was wearing a white bikini that had small pink polka dots on it. The top was a triangle style with a small ruffle across the top of each. The bottom had a ruffle that went around the top and tied over each hip with pink ties. The colors and design were almost innocent, but Melanie looked anything but innocent in it. She giggled to herself as she watched the pained look on Austin’s face as she coated her skin in sunscreen.
“Do you have to keep rubbing yourself like that,” he shifted on the towel and adjusted himself so it was a little less obvious to how she was effecting him.
“You mean like this,” she ran her hands down her chest between her breasts dipping into the top slightly. “I have to make sure I’m covered good. I don’t want to burn.”
“Now you’re just being mean,” he glared.
“Good things come to those who wait, Mr. Montgomery,” she giggled.
“Well I’m not waiting too much longer if you keep that up. I’ll drag you back inside if I need to,” he shook his head as she grinned at him from her towel.
“I’ll be good,” she sighed as she tossed the bottle of sunscreen back in the beach bag beside them. “Are you actually going to stay on the beach with me today, or do you plan to hang out in the water?”
“Well I already went for a run on the beach this morning when you were dead to the world in our bed. I thought I might see if there’s a surf board in that storage shed though,” he glanced in the direction of the house.
“You surf, too?” Melanie leaned up on her elbows and looked in his direction.
“Well I learned years ago. Colin taught me. We used to go in college on spring break. I haven’t in years though. It’s like riding a bike. You don’t forget, you just get rusty,” he shrugged. “Wanna learn? I could teach ya?” he looked at her with a hopeful look in his eyes.
“I don’t know,” she glanced around apprehensively. “That might be more adventure than I’m ready for.”
“Suit yourself,” he shrugged as he stood up and headed for the shed. “The waves are perfect for it today,” he shouted over his shoulder as he made his way toward the house.
When Austin returned to the beach he was carrying a bright yellow surfboard under his arm and a giant grin on his face.
“Must be my lucky day,” he smiled. “Found a board, and I got a hot woman staring at me.”
Melanie blushed and turned over onto her stomach. Austin plopped down in the sand a few feet away and began rubbing the board down with wax. Deciding to up the ante, Melanie reached back and pulled at one of the ties on her top. Austin saw the movement out of the corner of his eye and froze. Pretending that she didn’t see him, she pulled the strings to the side and then wiggled on the towel to settle herself.
