“Okay let me go in there and tell my mom
we’re leaving,” he said getting off the couch and walking towards
the kitchen where his mom and one of his aunts were. When he
entered the kitchen, they were whispering amongst themselves as if
they weren’t the only ones in there.

“So why y’all doesn’t like this one?” he
asked them scaring both of them.

They stared at him before his mom finally
spoke up “I never said I didn’t like her,” she said.

“You didn’t have to say it. Soon as she
walked in you was giving her the evil eye, but I know what this is
about. It’s about Gina,” he said and his mom waved him off. Gina
was Dre’s wife, the only female he brought to the house and his mom
loved her for some unknown reason. Gina and Dre were together for
seven years before she broke it off and no one ever heard from her
again. However, his mom still believed in her mind Gina would come
back into Dre life.

“You need to accept the fact that Gina is
gone mom and not coming back,” he said slamming his fist into the
counter causing his mom and aunt to jump in fear. They both knew
how Dre gets at the mention of Gina name.

“Son calm down, it had nothing to do with
her. I overheard your little girlfriend telling Brooke she was a
dancer,” his mom said with disgust. “I raised you better than
that,” she said shaking her head.

Dre frowned “Better than what?”

“To not talk to whores,” his mom shouted.

Dre felt himself getting angry. “She’s not a
whore,” he said through clenched teeth with his fist opening and
closing.

Tracy knew her was angry but she couldn’t
believe out of all the women in the world her son choose to be with
a stripper. She wanted to drop it and change the subject but she
was furious and decided to press the issues.

“I remember you disowning your own cousin
Brooke and calling her names because she was a stripper. Now you
bringing this whore in my house and think I suppose to be okay with
it. Well I’m not! So it’s either her or me? ” she said with her
hands on her hip giving him an ultimatum.

Dre grabbed his mother around her neck
lifting her off the floor and stared at her with darkened eyes but
once he realized what he was doing, he quickly dropped her, turned
to walk away, but before he could make it to the door his mother
yelled, “I can’t believe you Andre Mitchell! Don’t you ever bring
your ass back to my house. You choose that stripper over me,” she
said to him. Dre stopped there then turned around to his mother to
take one last look at her before leaving.

Ronny was riding around with his homeboy Vic
picking up his trap money when his phone began to ring he looked at
it and sucked his teeth, not in the mood to talk to Denise. She had
been trying to throw hints to Ronny that she wanted them to move
together but he wasn’t ready for that. His heart was still with
Shaniqua so he wasn’t ready to take that step plus to him she was
too needy and he didn’t like that at all. If she wasn’t asking him
to buy her shit or give her money, she was asking for a damn ride
back and forth to work. Ronny was use to his go-getter, his number
one, his boss bitch,
Shaniqua.
From day one Shaniqua made it
clear to Ronny that she didn’t need his money, all she needed was
his love. And that day she took his heart.

Ronny looked down at his phone that had
stopped ringing and stared at the picture on the front of it that
he never changed after they broke up of Shaniqua and his son. He
missed his family so much that it wasn’t funny.

Vic seen the sadden look on his face “Yo
bruh, you alright?” he asked

Ronny sat the phone back down “Yeah man I
just miss my lil man,” he said leaving out the part that he missed
Shaniqua also. He haven’t talked to them since they left and that
was almost 2 months ago and thought it was time he give them a
call.

“I bet he miss you too. Man I can’t believe
she really left like that,” Vic said rolling a blunt and Ronny
didn’t say anything so he continued talking “You think she’s coming
back? Moving way to Maryland, that was some real fuck shit then
when Trish told me she saw her coming out that clinic I count
believe that shit,” he said.

Ronny looked at him and was about to tell him
to shut the fuck up until his phone began to ring again. He was
getting on Ronny last nerves, always running his fucking mouth.

“Yeah,” he answered annoyed.

“Can you come get me from the nail salon?”
Denise asked.

Ronny sucked in his teeth “How the fuck you
get there?”

“I went when I got off since it’s across the
street from my job,” she said with an attitude. She was really
starting to get on his last nerves too and after checking her about
that attitude she call herself having he told her he was dropping
Vic at home then come get her.

As soon as Denise got in the car she started
“So what we about to do?” she asked turning to face him.

Ronny slowly turned to face her and shook his
head “I’m about to drop you off at yo crib then I’m going home,” he
said to her.

She took her seat belt off and adjusted
herself in the seat so she was close enough to Ronny so she could
do something she knew for sure would change his mind about taking
her home. She reached over, grabbed his dick, and felt it come to
life. She kept her eyes on him as she tried to unbuckle his belt.
He reached down and grabbed her hands to stop her.

“Nah shawty, I’m good,” he said pulling off
from the light he had just stopped at.

She eased back into her seat wondering what
the fuck had just happened, Ronny had never turned down head.

She was confused and a little embarrassed as
they road in silence for a couple of minutes until she asked, “Have
you thought about what we talked about the other day?

“Naw not really,” he replied never taking his
eyes off the road.

She turned to face him. “Why not Ron? You
know, I thought maybe with your baby mama out the picture we could
finally be a real couple. I mean no more sneaking around, in and
out of motels. But it seems like you don’t want that,” she said
with her arms folded.

He chuckled “Look Denise I never said I
wanted to be in a relationship with you,” he said bluntly before
turning to look at her. He wasn’t trying to be mean to her but he
didn’t want to lead her on and he don’t know where she got that
idea from “I’m sorry if it came out harsh but I don’t know where
you got that idea from,” he continued.

She stared at him for a minute “Well maybe
when you introduced me to you mom and son,” she said.

Ronny frowned. “That didn’t mean I wanted to
be in a relationship with you. You just so happened to be with me
when my son called asking when I was coming to get him. And I damn
sure wasn’t about to take you across town then go back to get him.
I’m just getting out of one so why would I jump back into another
one,” he said as they was pulling up to her house. “Man I got
something to do so I will call you later,” he said dismissing her
and to his surprise, she got out the truck without saying another
word slamming the door behind her.

He was pretty sure she was mad. “
She’ll
get over it,
” he said to himself as he pulled off heading
home.

Shaniqua had called Ronny earlier that week
to inform him that she and Ray’Shun were coming to visit for the
weekend and he was excited. He made it clear to her that he was
gonna be the one to pick them up from the airport and to his
surprise she didn’t give him no back talk.

She still wants a nigga,”
he said out
loud while standing outside his new cocaine white Tahoe with
28-inch chrome rims on it. It was nice.

He saw his son running towards him in full
speed and he smiled
“
What’s up my lil nigga?” he asked
picking him up “Give me some dap,” and Ray’Shun did.

“Damn can I get some help?” Shaniqua yelled
walking towards them.

“Damn can I get a hey and a hug first?” he
shot back. Shaniqua and Ronny loved each other so much it was
impossible for them to get alone and them having the same bad
temper didn’t help at all.

She playfully rolled her eyes “Whatever,” she
said handing him one of the bags and he took it.

He opened the back door and put Ray’Shun into
the booster seat he had stopped on the way to the airport and got
for him. Ronny then grabbed the other two bags from Shaniqua and
put them in the back before closing the door and pulling her into
his arms. She smiled and fell right into them. Although she was
trying to act tough, she missed the hell out of Ronny and was happy
to see him.

He tried to kiss her but she pulled back
“Don’t do that Ronny,” she said walking opening the passenger door
and hopping in. Ronny then went to the driver side and got it.

“So where you staying at while you here?” he
asked.

“Um, probably get a room or something. I know
you might want to spend some time with Ray’Shun,” she said, not
mentioning she still had her condo.

Ronny looked at her and frown then shook his
head. “Nah, you can chill at my crib.”

She cut her eyes at him and raised a brow
“And where you gonna be?” she wanted to know.

He laughed, “You got jokes… Fuck you mean
where I’m gonna be?”

“Naw Ronny. Fuck I look like chilling with
you when I got a man”

He smacked his lips. “Girl ain’t nobody
thinking about your pussy,” he lied. She smacked him on the arm and
turned to look back at Ray’Shun.

“You so stupid,” she said laughing.

“Naw for real though, you can chill. I
promise I want try anything,” he said.

She looked at him for a while. “Okay I’ll
stay and your ass better not try anything Ronny. But first drop me
off to see my parents,” she said and he did.

Ronny was too happy that Shaniqua decided to
stay with him. He wasn’t going to try anything with her but if she
wanted to give him the pussy, he wasn’t going to turn it down
either.

They pulled up to her parents’ house and
Shaniqua told Ronny she would call him when she was ready. Shaniqua
had to make Ray’Shun get out the truck. Being that he hasn’t seen
his dad in two almost three months, he didn’t want him out of his
sight but Ronny said, “Be a big boy, and go see grandma and
granddad and daddy promise to come back at you,” and that was all
he had to say.

Ray’Shun stopped whining and got out the
car.

Her mom met her at the door with open arms.
Samantha might have been harder on Shaniqua but she loved her
daughter and only wanted the best for her.

“Hey baby,” Samantha said hugging her before
grabbing Ray’Shun.

“Hey mama,” Shaniqua said and they walked in
the house.

“They walked in the living room and sat down
and began to catch up on each other lives. They was laughing and
talking, something they rarely did because every time Shaniqua
comes around her mother would say something that she didn’t like
and it would turn into a big argument.

“So how you like it up there?” her mom
asked.

“I was a little homesick at first but it’s
okay now.”

“Have you met his folks yet?”

Shaniqua chuckled “Yeah, I met them. His mom
doesn’t like me though. But you already know I don’t care”

Samantha frown “Why she don’t like you?” she
asked. Although she was a Christian, she still didn’t play when it
came to her girls.

“Honey I don’t know. They first day she met
me she was rolling her eyes and looking at me all funny. But she
fell in love with Ray’Shun though”

“Well just keep your distance from her cause
I hate to come up there and lay hands on her,” she said laughing
causing Shaniqua to laugh as well.

“Mama you swear you a thugged out Christian,”
she said shaking her head.

“I didn’t say that, I just don’t play when it
comes to my girls and grandson.”

“I know, but we’re good. Me and one of his
cousins hit it off good. She’s cool,” she said not telling her mom
that she was a stripper also.

“That’s good,” she paused. “While you down
here I hope you don’t do anything crazy to ruin your relationship
with Andre. He seems like a nice guy.”

Shaniqua know it was only a matter of time
before her mother said something she didn’t like.

“What are you talking about ma? What would I
be doing crazy enough to ruin my relationship?” she asked.

Samantha knew she had hit a nerve, but oh
well.

“You know, out here with Ronny while he’s
back at home waiting on you”

Shaniqua took a deep breath “Ain’t nobody
thinking about Ronny ma. He picked me up from the airport and that
was it. He’s gonna come back to pick me up, take me to get a room
and I guess he’s going back home to enjoy his son while he’s here.
If that’s okay with you?” she lied. They had just talked about her
staying at his crib he once shared with her but she wasn’t planning
to sleep with him or anything.

“Okay that’s fine. But you can always stay
here.”

“Naw, I want to be alone,” she lied once
again.

Shaniqua took out her phone to call Ronny to
see where he was. It was getting late and her mother was working
her last nerve so she was ready to go.

He answered. “You ready?” he answered

“Yeah, come on.”

“A’ight, I’ll be there in 15 minutes. Be
ready.”

“Yeah,” she said hanging up.

Fifteen minutes later Ronny pulled up and she
was out the door. Once they got in the car and pulled off, it never
fells, Ray’Shun said he was hungry so they went to McDonald’s to
get something to eat.

Ray’Shun was playing in the play land while
Ronny and Shaniqua watched him while talking and laughing. That was
what Shaniqua loved and missed the most. She remember when she
first met Ronny he was so loving and caring, even after she had
Ray’Shun, they would just got sit at the park and talk for hours.
She would give anything to have that Ronny back.
