It was the day for Shaniqua
and Ray’Shun to leave and she was taking him to see everyone before
they left. She decided to take him to Debbie house were they was
meeting Ronny first then meet up with Dre at her parents’ house do
they could head to the airport from there. Once they pulled up at
Debbie house her, Ronny, Nell and Star was all sitting on the
porch. Ronny walked to the car to get Ray’Shun out “What’s up lil
man?” he asked once he was out

“Hey daddy. You coming?” he asked

Ronny looked over at Shaniqua and she dropped
her head “Naw, daddy’s not going,” he said

“Why?” Ray’Shun wanted to know

Shaniqua walked on the porch where everyone
else was “Hey y’all,” she said dryly sitting down.

“What’s up sis-n-law?” Nell said and everyone
else spoke as well as Ronny and Ray’Shun walked up to the porch.
Ronny gave Ray’Shun to his mom

“Can I talk to you Shaniqua?” he asked
walking in the house not waiting for Shaniqua to respond. She got
up and walked in the house behind him. She walked into one of the
bedroom and Ronny closed and locked the door as she sat on the
bed.

“So you really gonna leave with this nigga?”
Ronny asked with an attitude

She dropped her head and played with her keys
that she was holding but never said anything. Ronny didn’t know but
it was hurting her to leave him just as much as it was hurting him.
He sat on the bed beside her “I guess this is really the end for us
huh?” he asked looking at the floor. Shaniqua still didn’t say
anything as tears eased down her cheeks. Ronny looked at her and
wiped her tears “If you or
MY
son needs anything call me and
I’m there,” he said getting up and walking to the door. He looked
back at her one last time “I love you Shaniqua,” he said and walked
out the room leaving her sitting on the bed still in tears.

Debbie walked in the room with Star and sat
on the bed “You know y’all two have the craziest relationship.
Y’all break up but some kind of way y’all make it right back into
one another’s arms,” Debbie said. She place her finger under
Shaniqua chin lifting her face so she could look at her “So what
makes you think this time is any different?” she said

Star smiled “Yeah Shan, remember
Unbreakable?” she said as Shaniqua gave both of them a weak
smile

“I’m gonna miss y’all,” she said. “Debbie I
know we haven’t been best of friend but I’m gonna miss you so much
and lately you have been like a second mom to me,” Shaniqua said
smiling.

Debbie smiled and hugged her. “I know and
regardless of what I’ve said in the past I couldn’t see my son
being with anyone better than you,” she said then looked at Star.
“Both of you.” Star walked over and hugged them.

“Well I have to get going now,” Shaniqua said
getting off the bed.

They walked into the living room to find Nell
sitting on the couch with Ray’Shun.

“Where is Ronny?” Shaniqua asked looking
around.

“Man bro hurt, he said he didn’t wanna stay
but he left you this.” He pulled out an envelope full of one
hundred dollar bills “He said call him if you need anything,” Nell
said. Shaniqua shook her head and her and Ray’Shun said their
goodbyes.

Ronny rode around with a lot on his mind
listening to Lyfe Jenning’s “Let’s Stay Together.” He never thought
in a million years that’s Shaniqua the love of his life would
actually leave him. He was in deep thought when his phone went off;
he picked it up and saw it was a text message. Shaniqua: “
I’m
just letting you know that we’re off to the airport. I really wish
things between us was different.

You know I hate taking Ray’Shun away from you
like this but I think me and him both could use a fresh start. You
and I both know that if I stayed around we was gonna keep going
back and forth with this relationship.”

Ronny read it and dropped his phone back in
the cup holder between the seats only for it to go off again.

“And this was the only way both of us could
move on without anyone getting hurt worse than we already have.
Whenever you want to talk to your son just call. I love you
ALWAYS.”

Ronny didn’t know he was crying until his
vision became blurry. Then he heard a horn blow and realized he was
still sitting at the stop sign. He pulled off and headed to a place
where no one would know where to find him at but Shaniqua and since
she was moving out of town, he didn’t have to worry about her
coming to look for him.

Star was standing out front of the corner
store she had walked to with her friend from school. Since her
sister was gone, she didn’t have anyone to hang out with so she was
forced to hang with her. “Come on Drea,” Star said never taking her
eyes off her iPhone.

Drea walked over with the two guys she had
been talking to. “Star this is Sherrod,” she said pointing to the
short guy “And this is Robert,” pointing to the taller one. Star
looked at the guys and said hi and started back messing with her
iPhone “What’s up with you lil mama, can I talk to you for a
minute?” Sherrod asked. Star stuck her phone in her back pocket and
looked at Sherrod “Sure,” she said. She made it clear to him that
she was talking to someone and he couldn’t get her number. He said
he was cool with that and he had a girl. “I’m just trying to kill
time since my boy talking to your girl,” he said. So she gave him
just what he wanted, a conversation.

Star and Sherrod was talking and laughing
that neither one of them saw Nell approaching them “So this how you
doing it now?” he asked stepping between them. Star and Sherrod
looked at him with wide eyes, clearly in shock. Alone with Drea and
Robert.

“We were just talking Nell,” she said a bit
embarrassed.

Nell turned around to Sherrod “This here is
me homie,” he said mugging the hell out of Sherrod daring him to
say something. Sherrod looked at his homeboy and his homeboy looked
the other way like he wasn’t seeing what was going on. It was clear
they both were scared as hell.

“Are you serious Nell?” Star said with her
hand on her hip not believing what was going on.

Nell grabbed her hand. “As a fucking heart
attack,” he said damn near dragging her to his car, leaving her
friend there.

Once they got in the car Star was heated with
the way Nell approached her “What the fuck was that about?” she
asked him with an attitude.

He cut his eyes at her “That’s what the fuck
I wanna know,” he said

Star didn’t know why he was so mad, it wasn’t
as if they had made it official or anything. She folded her arms
and smacked her lips

“It’s not like we made it official, so I’m
free to talk to whoever I want,” she said looking straight ahead.
She could see Nell staring at her out the corner of her eye as they
sat at the stop sign.

“What?’ he said with an attitude

“We never talked about being in a
relationship so why does it matter who I talk to,” she said now
looking at him

He dropped his head “Because I love you,” he
mumbled. Nell tried to overlook the feelings he had for Star, kept
telling himself it was lust, and not love. However, after seeing
her smiling and talking to another dude, he knew it was definitely
love.

Star blinked her eyes a couple of times
“What?” she asked confused.

He looked her dead in the eyes “I said I
fucking love you,” he said. She couldn’t believe what she was
hearing, she was so happy because she had fallen in love with Nell
a long time ago and trying to hide her feeling was becoming harder
and harder each day. Star was damn near in the driver seat with
Nell “Baby I love you too,” she said kissing him as a horn blew
behind them. They laughed and headed to Nell apartment where they
made sweet love all night.

Being in Maryland for 2
months now today was the day Shaniqua was going to meet Dre’s
mother. After dealing with Debbie and other dudes that she dated
mothers, she began to feel nervous and really didn’t care to meet
his mom. Shaniqua had been quiet since they left their home and Dre
could sense something was bothering her so he asked, “Are you okay
bae?” as they pulled up to his mother’s house.

Shaniqua wasn’t going to say anything at
first but then decided to let him know what was on her mind. So she
turned to face him as he shut the engine off “I’m just a little
nervous,” she said.

Dre grabbed her hand “Bae believe me, you
have nothing to be worried about,” he said hoping she wouldn’t have
anything to worry about because he knew how his mom could be
sometimes.

“My mom loved ever female I brought home and
them rats wasn’t as caring and loving as you. So I know she gonna
love you just as much as I love you,” he said smiling before
bringing her hand to his lips.

She smiled back at him then looked at
sleeping Ray’Shun in the back seat “But you know some parents
doesn’t approve of their son dating someone that already have a
child.”

Dre took a deep breath “Bae, my mom is not
like that. Just come on and get out the car girl,” he said opening
up his door.

He got out and opened the back door to get
Ray’Shun up and they all headed to the front door. He had already
told his mom all about Shaniqua and Ray’Shun and just hoped that
she would like them. He lied to Shaniqua when he told her that his
mom loved every female he brought to the house. Truth be told his
mother has only cared for one woman and that was his wife, Gina. He
just hoped Shaniqua would win her heart like she won his.

Dre opened the door and heard a lot of
talking as they walked in. The whole living room got quite and all
eyes were on them. Dre was the first to speak as Shaniqua stood
nervously behind him just looking.

Damn, I didn’t know the whole damn family was
gonna be here, she said to herself.

An older woman got up who Shaniqua assumed to
be his mother walked over to him and hugged him.

“Hey son,” she said and he hugged her
back.

“Hey ma,” he said kissing her cheek.

“So this must be the one you was telling me
about?” she asked looking Shaniqua over. Shaniqua could tell the
woman was stuck up by the way she was looking at her with her nose
turned up.

Shaniqua gave a fake smile “Hi, I’m Shan,”
she said politely stretching her arm out for a handshake. His mom
looked at her for a minute before shaking her hand.

“You can call me Tracy,” she said before
turning to look at Ray’Shun who had waked up soon as they entered
the house.

Tracy smiled at him. “And what’s your name
handsome,” she said reaching for him.

Being that Ray’Shun was just like his father,
a ladies man, he smiled.

“Ray’Shun,” he said falling right in her arms
and she walked back over to her seat and sat down with Ray’Shun in
her lap.

Dre introduced me to the rest of the family
and they all seem to be stuck up except for his one cousin Brooke.
She was real nice and down to earth, so instantly she and Shaniqua
clicked.

Everyone was sitting around interrogating
Shaniqua asking her personal questions that she refused to answer,
such as what she did for a living, and questions about Ray’Shun
father. She didn’t feel any of that was their business and refused
to answer them.

“I’m going in the kitchen to get a drink.
Come on Shan,” Brooke said and Shaniqua was glad she saved her from
the interrogation.

She looked at Dre “Go ahead I’ll keep my eyes
on Ray’Shun,” he said.

As soon as Brooke closed the door that
separated the living room from the kitchen she said “Girl you seem
like you needed to get away,” she laughed.

Shaniqua rolled her eyes upwards “Girl,” she
said shaking her head. “What’s with all the questions?” she
asked.

“Girl they just being nosey like always.
That’s why I don’t fuck with them like that. I just came because
Dre asked me to come so I could meet you. They always in somebody
damn business.”

Shaniqua laughed.

Brooke continued, “I’m serious. Especially
Dre siddity ass mama. Her ass can’t stand me,” she said
laughing.

“Why? Aren’t you her niece?”

“Yeah. She used to love me but when I started
dancing she flipped the script on my ass,” Brooke said still
laughing.

“You use to dance?” Shaniqua asked smiling
with a shocked expression.

Although Brooke didn’t seem like she belong
in that family with her blonde and red hair, short skirt barely
covering her ass, a halter top shirt and very high heels shoes. She
had a cute little shape and was very pretty in the face.

“Girl yes. I still do from time to time.
That’s where the money at,” Brooke said laughing.

“Tell me about. I use to dance as well.
Matter of fact that’s where I meet Dre at.”

Brooke was shocked. “Aw shit. That’s what I’m
talking about. Dre got a money making bitch like his cousin,” she
said laughing.

“That right. A bitch gotta get paid,”
Shaniqua said laughing as they high fived each other. Brooke seemed
cool to Shaniqua and she was happy to be talking to someone that
was on the same level as her.

They were so wrapped up in their conversation
that they never noticed Dre’s mom at the door.

Dre caught his mom rolling her eyes at
Shaniqua a few times and hoped Shaniqua didn’t see her but little
did he know she seen it. On the other hand, she seems to love
Ray’Shun though. However, he wondered what was the problem with
Shaniqua, why she didn’t like her. For some reason his mom didn’t
like but one woman he brought home and things didn’t end well with
them at all.

“Bae, I’m getting sleepy,” Shaniqua said to
Dre while stretching. She had been ready to leave ever since Brooke
had left. She was so sick of his mother shooting her nasty looks
and rolling her eyes at her. She was about two second from cursing
her out.
