He carried her through the Art Nouveau doors, out into the secret garden, placing her gently upon the bed. Blue relaxed into the soft luxurious bedding, he lay down beside her, leaning on his side, looking at her before staring into her eyes. His hand reached over but he hesitated,

'Do you mind if I stroke your hair?' He asked.

'I don’t mind you touching me at all.' Blue replied, her stomach full of butterflies.

'Where are you from?' She asked.

'Rome.'

'And your name?' She asked, remembering she hadn't introduced herself either.

'Daen.'

'You're from Rome and yet you don't have an Italian accent?' She challenged.

'I'm originally from Italy, my adopted home town is Rome. I haven't been home in a very long time and I’m very well travelled.' He replied with his smiling eyes.

They lay there for what seemed an eternity, staring at each other in eager anticipation, stroking each other through their clothes, tracing the lines and contours of one another before gently touching each others faces.

The twinkling fairy lights above, the gentle wind blowing the luxurious silks that draped over the outside bed, the whole scene looked the most romantic setting Blue could have ever hoped for.

Blue kissed him as they lay there, his lips were soft and plump, he kissed her back, gently at first before the hidden passion he had been suppressing in his unconscious was unleashed as burning desire. He pulled her on top of him, kissing her harder, his tongue massaging hers, his arms wrapped around her waist, so tight as if he imagined that he let her go she would float away or disappear. He kissed her neck down to her heaving breasts, she wanted him, he wanted her, and they both knew that they had to have each other. They had only just met, or so she thought and they desired each other, she wanted to join souls in what had to be potentially the greatest sex she would ever have. Before she knew it, their clothes were beneath them, they had literally ripped them off one another.

Daen started to whisper to her in French, it reminded her of her dream she had weeks before. He spoke in Italian, Greek, Latin, and other languages she couldn't decipher, murmuring all the words he knew to tell her how he wanted her and confessed how beautiful he thought she was.

He pulled her on top of him again telling her that he wanted her in control. Blue looked into his eyes and he pulled her close, pushing himself into her. She let out a gasp. He smiled as he looked up at her, pulling her towards him, so he could kiss her mouth, he pulled her hips into him. Blue writhed on him, moving rhythmically with him. She lost herself in the moment because it felt so very good.

Her eyes rolled up into her head, lost in multiple orgasms, lost in climax, shuddering with pleasure, unlike anything she had ever felt before, another level, a higher state of consciousness. She felt like a part of the universe. She felt alive.

The stars glowed above them, twinkling, like the fairy lights around them.

Daen was in awe of this wonderful woman, in over two thousand years since Isis had changed him, he had never met a woman, a person that affected him or had had this much of an effect on him. On that bed in that secret garden he fell absolutely and positively in love with Blue. He didn't think it was possible, he was excited, happy and felt wonderful. But he also felt scared, vulnerable and stupid for feeling like this.

Whilst in the throws of passion Blue had wanted to bite this god like man, to feed from his ancient smelling blood. When the need was so great and the want so strong she couldn't resist a second longer, she bit him. What Blue had expected was an extremely erotic ecstasy, nirvana, the greatest high of all. What she did get however was all of that and a hell of a lot more. Overwhelming images flashed through her mind, she couldn't make sense of them, it were as if she were watching small snippets of a history documentary crossed with a soap opera and a biography, very personal images, ancient buildings that looked new, the pyramids, but fresh looking, a giant lion in pure gold on an amazingly azure blue wall, faces and people, more people, horrific images, all around death and so much blood. All that blood.

She passed out.

Blue didn't wake up until the morning. She awoke in the middle of the garden in the bed of silk. The drapes over the outside bed floating in the breeze. She felt as if Daen hadn't left her alone for hours, that he'd left just before she awoke, she could still smell his fresh scent when she woke up. But he had gone. He had left her.

Chapter Six.

Because her dress lay in tatters on the bed, Blue wrapped one of the sheets around her and strode up to the house. She w
alked through the mansion wrapped in luxurious Egyptian cotton having fashioned it into a toga. The alien images she had received last night running through her mind. Her head hurt, like after the worst migraine ever. She was really really hungry. She wasn’t thinking straight. She wandered into the breakfast room in her self made bed clothes.

'Oh my God! Where the hell have you been?' Stars eyes were wide at the mere sight of her.

'So Blue, where have you been?' Asked Cleo, she had relaxed from the night before. Cleo had been able to push her life to the back of her mind for a little while. Since Blue had been bitten, Cleo had just simply ignored everything and buried her head in the sand, so far the agency hadn't made a move. She knew it was coming, but if no one mentioned anything then she could ignore it all and pretend everything was just peachy.

Both Eliza and Jayne were looking at Blue in astonishment.

'Seems our Party was just what you needed last night!' Said Eliza.

'So who was the lucky guy?' Asked Jayne. Star smiled and added,

'The guy who stole you away for most of the night?'

Blue held the sheet up to her chest with one hand and rubbed her face with the other, before running her fingers through her hair. She felt out of it, hungry, but not for blood, it felt very strange to her to not want blood.

'Er.' She mumbled, 'Yeah, his name is Daen.' The name brought a smile to her lips. The girls were intrigued.

'Dean?' Asked Eliza.

'No Daen, you pronounce it Day-en.' Said Blue with another smile that gave herself away. She knew she would have to explain the whole night she spent away from everyone else. It had been the first time since her birthday, exactly six months since she had had any kind of physical intimacy. The girls were all eyes and ears.

'Come on then, spill the beans!' Star yelled, 'I can’t remember any Daen on the invitations.'

'Really? So who was he then?' Cleo asked with one eyebrow raised.

Blue sat at the table poured herself a cup of tea, added a couple of sugars and stirred. The girls looked on as if she were drinking poison. The blackcurrant and nettle tea tasted good and clean to her, she felt groggy like she had drank a bottle of vodka the night before. She could only link the hangover to the overpowering blood she had drank from Daen.

She told the girls every detail of the night before. The success of the party, how her feet had hurt and how Daen had turned up to rescue them. A perfect mysterious stranger, a knight in shining armour all to herself. They were all sat glued to every word, she left nothing out. They were all also in the know about her recent dietary changed, seeing that the fridge was full of type O negative these days.

Once she had finished her run through of the last few hours she added,

'But this morning he was gone,' She frowned, 'Must be an effect I have on all the guys! So what did you all get up to?'

Star began, she said she’d not seen the prince for the rest of the evening but had been talking to lots of other delicious gentlemen. None of them had caught her eye as the prince had. But he'd eluded her, to her annoyance.

Cleo told us that she’d had the greatest time, not thinking of Valentino or the boys for the night. Spending the entire evening on the dance floor, with no shortage of dancing partners. She had a quiet calm to her this morning.

Jayne spoke up,

'I met this wonderful woman last night, she was beautiful! Her name is Teresa and we kissed.' She smiled to herself and blushed, 'I spent the rest of the evening in her sole presence, we talked until the sun came up. It was so intense, she was so interested in my work, my philosophy. Asking all sorts of questions about my life, I’ve never felt so at ease with anyone.'

Star, Blue, Cleo and Eliza just stared at her, their mouths gaping.

'What?' Jayne proclaimed. Star jumped back in,

'Sorry Jayne sweetheart, it’s just that you’ve really surprised us.'

'Yeah, we’re really happy for you, it’s just so unexpected.' Said Eliza backing Star up.

'Brilliant though!' Blue chirped in and gave her a cheeky wink, 'It's good that you've finally clicked with someone like that.'

Eliza told us that she and Amelia had the most exceptional time. Then a cloud came over Eliza’s face,

'There was one thing. Amelia was disturbed when another ghost turned up.'

She never really mentioned Amelia to anyone but Blue (because they could both talk to her), so bringing this up at the breakfast table was ridiculous.

'Amelia said he didn’t see her, but he was there. As if he were looking for someone, he couldn’t find whoever it was and then just faded away. Blue I don’t know if it was something to do with you, but Amelia seems to think so. She thinks it's something big, something ancient, a prophecy. There have been a lot of ghosts interacting with her recently, lots of whispers. Has she spoken to you?'

Blue sat there the words sinking in,
'Ancient, Prophecy?'
she just sat looking puzzled,

'No she hasn't spoken to me. In ages, since I became a Vampyre.' She paused, contemplating.

Cleo pitched in changing the subject.

'I’ve decided I’m going to move with Valentino and the boys back to Italy. I’m going to make a proper go of it, this is my life now. The agency has pushed me too far, they have asked for more than they should have ever done. So fuck them, fuck the agency.'

This was a welcome distraction for Blue, moved away from the questions running though her mind of prophecies.

'Fuck the agency? What about what they still want you to do?' Blue asked.

'I’ve not really thought it through.' Replied Cleo, 'I know I need to disappear from the agency, I can't kill my family.' She started crying, she couldn't keep up her emotionless exterior. 'I need Valentino and the boys with me, I can't do this any more. I don't want to kill people any more. If he moves out of the spot light, pretends that he isn't in the Mafia. Get a stand in for a bit, take a break and work on us.'

'Doesn't he know about the agency?' Eliza asked naively.

'Of course he doesn’t fucking know about the fucking agency!' Cleo shrieked and added with venom, 'If he knew I was in the agency do you think for one second that I would still be alive?!? Or that he would have married me and had my children?'

She looked a little frazzled around the edges, one question had pushed her from sobbing into a hysterical rage.

'I’m sorry Cleo, I didn’t think that through.' Eliza moved over to comfort her, as she got there Cleo broke down. She fell to the floor, she had realised the full weight of all that was in the balance and it had been overwhelming. All the girls rushed in to hold her. Star told her,

'Sweetie it’s okay. It’s okay. It will be alright. You need Valentino, I’ll make the arrangements. I’ll talk to him, tell him you were kidnapped by the agency and tortured. I’ll tell him they’ve threatened you, that they want you to find out about him and tell them all you can or they’ll kill your children. He’ll believe that. He knows what they’re capable of. He’ll not suspect you at all. You’ll be on one of my planes in his arms by the end of the day. You’ll be in Italy by tomorrow at the latest.' Star knew she could make it happen, so she got right on it.

Chapter Seven.

The Oracle was an innocent looking old Chinese lady. She was warm, welcoming, petite, frail and she had a fragility to her, you would trust her with your life as soon as look at her. Appearances, however, can be quite deceiving.

The Oracle has been a little old lady since Daen turned her, over a thousand years ago. She came from the Himalayas – Tibet to be exact. He had found her out after hearing so much about her fortune telling, he had travelled far and had heard about her in India, The Middle East, even in his adopted home town Rome. He had heard about the Oracle who lives in the big mountains, so he went to find her for himself.

Her weak and feeble appearance has eluded everyone’s better judgement. She is more dangerous than you could ever imagine, even Daen doesn't know her true potential. He underestimates her. She knows far more than she ever lets on, even to Daen, her creator. She manipulates his every move and he doesn’t even realise she’s doing it.

'Daen.' She whispered over.
