“I told you, I told you more than once if this wasn’t what you were ready for, then to leave me the fuck alone but yet you still pursued me just to fuck with me, Casino. I don’t even blame you. I blame myself for falling for your shit. Something told me to keep it moving but yet I settled for your ass when I knew I could do better. How long?” I questioned.

“Choc—”

“HOW LONG YOU BEEN FUCKING THIS BITCH, CASIMIR?” I bellowed.

“Since before we even made it official. But look, baby, she don’t mean shit. It’s just a nut. I love you. You know that.”

“I’m done,” I told him. “I told you before you only get one chance, one, and you blew it,” I let him know.

“You got me fucked up if you think I’m letting you leave me, Bambi,” he told me as he walked towards me.

“Casino, I will shoot you in this bitch if you keep walking up on me. Do not fuck with me right now!”

“You ain’t gon do shit!” he said as he lunged for me.

POW

“Ahhh, shit! Bitch, you shot me!” he yelled as he held his arm.

“OH MY GOD!” his hoe yelled.

“Let your bitch take care of you,” I said before making my exit.

I’d told that nigga about taking me for a fucking joke. I was done with him, period. I only gave a muthafucka one chance to fuck me over and I played no games when it came to my heart. I will admit that Casino really had me fooled. All this time I really thought he loved me and gave a fuck about me when he could care less.

It was cool, though. I was going to bounce back from this just like I bounced back from everything else in my life.

Twenty-Five – Canaan

I sat in Casino’s living room listening to him cry like a little bitch about how his Choc really shot him and he couldn’t believe it. Now I said before I wasn’t the type to say I told you so but I wasn’t going to let this one slide. I was definitely going to have to fuck with him on this one because his bitch ass didn’t listen to me for shit.

“Aye, aye, ayeee, shut the fuck up, nigga! I told you so!” I laughed. “’My Choc ain’t never gonna leave me, she know where home is. My shit tight, I ain’t never gonna get caught,’” I mocked him as I rolled over with laughter.

“Man, shut the fuck up. This shit ain’t funny. Her crazy ass really shot me, though. She could’ve killed me,” he said as he looked at his bullet wound.

“Nigga, I think if Bambi really wanted your ass dead, she would have killed you. That wasn’t shit but a warning shot, trust me,” I told him.

I told this nigga not to fuck with Bambi. My brother always been a slow ass nigga, though. What man in their right mind would cheat on a girl that owned a gun? If her owning a gun wasn’t a good enough reason for Casino not to cheat on her, then the fact that she was a good girl, loyal, not into no bullshit, not with the drama, loved his kids, our mama loved her, and she was down for him should’ve been good enough reasons.

“Man, I can’t believe I fucked up like that,” he sighed.

“I can. You always been the type to have to learn the hard way. Like mama used to say, a hard head makes a soft ass,” I told him.

“You know she had the nerve to call Mama, and Mama took her side. Even knowing she shot me, mama took her side.”

“I don’t know why you’re surprised, Casino. Mama almost killed daddy dumb ass! Her and Bambi are one in the same, that’s why they get along so well,” I laughed.

“That might be true,” Casino laughed.

His laughter came to a halt when he picked up his phone that was ringing and looked at it funny. He put his finger up to his mouth signaling for me to be quiet as he answered it.

“You have a lot of balls to be calling my phone, muthafucka.”

“You don’t have a lot of time but you need to get to Bambi before it’s too late,” a voice that sounded like Kendal said.

“What do…” Casino’s voice trailed off as we heard a beeping noise, indicating that he had hung up. “What the fuck?” he asked confused.

“Was that Kendal?” I questioned.

“Yea, I ain’t seen or heard from that muthafucka in months and now he calling my phone with that bullshit,” he said.

“Man, come on,” I said as I jumped up. “It sound like he know some shit we don’t.”

Casino and I rushed out of the house at the speed of lightning because we had no idea what we were dealing with or what we were up against. Casino called Grizzly and told him and a few of his boys to meet us at Bambi’s as he jumped in his truck and burned rubber to get to her.

I replayed Kendal’s words over in my mind.
You don’t have a lot of time but you need to get to Bambi before it’s too late
. It sounded like that nigga was trying to warn us that some shit was about to go down. I glanced over at Casino and I could see that vein in his neck that bulged out anytime he was trying to keep his cool. I didn’t know what the fuck was going on but I just prayed to God that we made it to her in time.

Twenty minutes later, we were pulling up to Bambi’s house. Grizzly and his boys were already there. Before Casino could even put his car in park good, he was jumping out. He ran into the house and I noticed that Bambi’s door looked like it had been kicked in or something of the sort.

“Nah, man! Nahhh! What the fuckkkkk!” I heard my brother yell.

I took off for the stairs and ran to the room where Grizzly and his men were standing outside with solemn looks on their faces. I walked into the room and saw my brother holding a naked, bloody, and battered Bambi as he cried. She had blood dripping down her leg and she was motionless.

“Is she…is she…” I couldn’t even bring myself to say the words.

“Cas…Casino,” We heard faintly.

“Oh shit, Choc!” Casino said as he jumped up.

I turned my head so I wouldn’t have to see Bambi like that. He wrapped her body up in a sheet before picking her up. Her arm fell limp to the side and her eyes were wide open, making her look lifeless. If I wouldn’t have heard her speak myself, I would’ve sworn she was dead.

“Come on, we gotta get her to the hospital,” Casino said as he left the room.

As we all were heading down the stairs, we heard a noise coming from the closet in the hallway. Grizzly pulled out his gun just as the door opened and was about to pull the trigger until a little body came into view.

“Hold on, man!” I told him, slapping his gun down.

Little Majesty stood there with a tear stained face as she looked at us with wide eyes. I went and picked her up and she wrapped her arms around me, hanging on for dear life. We all rushed out of the house and jumped into our trucks. I drove to Ford while Casino held Bambi the whole time and Majesty sat in the backseat.

It wasn’t too hard to put together what took place in that house but what I did know is that the city of Detroit was definitely about to be painted red now. Too much shit was going on and too many people were responsible for it. One thing I didn’t play behind was my family and since I looked at Bambi as my little sister, it was only right that I helped get to the bottom of this shit.

Twenty-Six – Kendal

I paced back and forth as I waited for Casino to show up. This shit was getting out of hand and I couldn’t take it anymore. Shit was happening that wasn’t supposed to be happening all because muthafuckas didn’t know how to leave well enough alone and loved taking shit too far.

I saw headlights approaching and sighed that I could finally put this bullshit behind me. Casino was speeding but finally came to a sudden halt within a few inches from my body. I barely had enough time to get out of the way before his crazy ass was jumping out of the car with his gun aimed at me.

“Whoa, what is all this?” I asked with my hands up.

“What type of sick shit you on, Kendal? You wanted to get back at me so bad that you had to rape my girl?” he yelled.

He was so close that the spit that flew out of his mouth hit me in the face and the barrel of his gun was touching his forehead. I was a little thrown off because I didn’t know shit about no rape.

“What? Rape? Come on now, Casino. You gotta do me one better than that, man. I may be a lot of things but a damn rapist ain’t nowhere on the list!”

“Yea, just like your ass ain’t a rat, huh? Fuck out of here, Kendal! Tell me why I shouldn’t blow your fucking brains out right now? I saw you getting out that fucking cop car that day I pulled down on you to ask about that money shit. An informant though, Kendal?”

“Casino, for a smart nigga, you really are dumb as fuck!” I told him. “If I was an informant, don’t you think they would have been shut your shit down? I was your so called right-hand man. I could have told them any damn thing they wanted to know. They’ve been trying to get me to rat on you for years but I kept my damn mouth shut! I don’t have it in me to rat on you, even when you did me dirty and fucked my hoe and got her pregnant, even when you kicked me to the curb for your brother, even when you said to hell with me, even when you fucked over our relationship for a bitch, I stayed loyal,” I spat.

If only this nigga knew all the opportunities I’d turned down to do his ass dirty. Muthafuckas could call me whatever they wanted to call me but one thing they couldn’t call me is a fucking snake. Yea, I do shit out of line from time to time but who don’t? That’s just the way shit goes but I would never do Casino the way his punk ass did me.

Even after he kicked me out his operation, Paine’s bitch ass was trying to get me to fold on Casino and everything in me was telling me to do it but I just couldn’t do it because that’s just not how I rock. A muthafucka would have to kill me before I ever took that route and I mean that shit from the bottom of my heart.

“That don’t explain how the fuck you knew some shit was about to happen to Choc,” he said with his damn gun still at my forehead and finger still on the trigger.

“Baju, nigga,” I informed him. “While you and Canaan thought it was me y’all had to watch out for, it was that nigga the whole time. He was responsible for hitting the traps and everything. He called and asked me did I want to get in on this hit. I asked him who sent it and who he was hitting. When he said Bambi, I immediately axed that idea.”

“Who put the hit out?” he asked.

“He never said. He—”

“Freeze! Drop your weapon and put your hands where I can see them!”

Just like that, the damn police had our asses surrounded. I was pissed the fuck off because no one was supposed to know about us meeting. I could tell that Casino was pissed off by the way that he was clenching his jaws. We both looked up when we heard laughter.

“Ain’t no fun when the rabbit got the gun, huh, baby daddy?” China laughed.
