Letter from Stormy Glenn

Regarding Ebook Piracy

Dear Readers,

It is a joy for me to write my books and interact with my readers. I

love creating worlds and characters in my books. Writing is also my

career, my way of supporting my family, and I work at it fulltime. I

do not have another career.

I am very upset and distressed when my books are pirated. My work

has been stolen.

It is illegal to pirate ebooks. Just because it is anonymous and easy to

upload someone else’s work for free, it doesn’t make it right legally

or morally. It is no different than shoplifting or holding up a store or

robbing a bank.

Please do not share this book with a friend. Do not send a copy of it to

a forum, newsgroup, or file-sharing site. Do not auction it. Please do

not give this book to anyone who has not legally paid for their own

copy from Siren-BookStrand or one of the legal distributor sites.

Some readers may think the sharing of a copyrighted book wouldn’t

amount to anything, but it does. It is very disheartening for me as a

writer and makes it hard for me to want to continue to write. I have to

support my family in some manner. So, please, respect my hard work

and do not pirate my books.

With deep gratitude,

Stormy Glenn

DEDICATION

To my love. My life wouldn’t be complete without you. You saved

me from a life of misery and gave me the world. There will never be

words even I could write to say how much I love you.

Chapter 1

Benjamin Nobles watched the procession of colorfully dressed

men and women parade around the sacred circle from his nearly

hidden view on the edge of the tree line. He grimaced as he stared at

them twisting and turning before the throng of men and women

hoping to find their mate.

Ben would have gladly given his right arm to be anywhere else

but here. He did not like big gatherings such as this, but his alpha

ordered him here. And he never disobeyed an order from his alpha—

no matter how uncomfortable it made him feel. And this was about as

uncomfortable as he could ever remember being.

The alpha, Daniel Nash, commanded that anyone unmated and of

marriageable age to gather in the sacred circle of their pack to see all

the men and women of mating age from Prince Zacarius’s coven. And

hopefully, a mating would take place. Just not for Ben.

Ben knew there would never be a mate for him. No one in his or

her right mind would want to be shackled with a man such as him, a

man with no tenderness, no gentleness, and, certainly, no kindness.

He didn’t even know what those emotions were anymore. They had

been stripped from him, along with a good portion of his sanity.

Sometimes he even wondered if he had any humanity left in him.

He was a monster, in body as well as in mind. His huge frame was

filled compactly with bulging muscles, long strong legs that were as

big as tree trunks, and arms the size of smaller tree trunks. Battle scars

littered his body—including his face, with one long scar that curved

from the corner of his right eye, down his cheek, to the bottom of his

jaw.

He wouldn’t be winning any beauty contest anytime soon. It was

all most people could do just to look him in the eye without flinching.

He had nothing to offer a mate and he knew it.

Stefan stood there, his head slightly bent, his long hair falling

forward, concealing his face from the large crowd he stood in. He had

been ordered here by Prince Zacarius to stand before all of the

unmated werewolves of Wolf Creek Pack so that they might find their

mate. Stefan knew he was here for another purpose.

His stepbrother, Oliver, had made it very clear to Stefan last night

as to why he stood here. Tonight he would be mated to Dane, a friend

and cohort of Oliver's.

Oliver and Dane had done everything in their power over the last

few months to persuade Stefan to agree to be mated to Dane. When

that didn’t work, the gloves came off and the real pain began. Dane

wasn’t Stefan’s fated mate, but Oliver had decreed they would be

mated anyway.

Under normal circumstances, Stefan would have been excited to

be mated, anything to get away from his stepbrother. The previous

night, Dane proved he was just as demented as Stefan’s stepbrother

when he slapped Stefan around, all while regaling Stefan with the

things he planned to do once Stefan belonged to him.

Stefan guessed he had one thing to be thankful for where his

stepbrother was concerned. Oliver made sure that Dane had never

forced Stefan before now. He seemed to enjoy hanging the
mating

with Dane over his head.

Ever since their older brother, Desmond, lost his life trying to kill

Prince Zacarius, Oliver had taken over as head of their family. At

first, Stefan thought it wouldn’t be so bad. He thought Oliver had to

be better than his asshole brother, Desmond. Now he wasn’t so sure.

Little by little, Oliver cut off Stefan’s contact with the outside

world. Stefan wasn’t allowed to go anywhere or see anyone except

Dane and Audley, Stefan’s best friend and Dane’s younger brother.

Audley also had the distinction of being the man Oliver wanted to

trade Stefan for.

Stefan fought Oliver’s plan as much as he could. He refused to

acknowledge Dane’s orders, gaining himself more than a few bruises

along the way but he refused to give in to their terror tactics.

With the orders from their prince, Stefan knew that his time was

finally up. Dane would have him tonight. And there wasn’t anything

Stefan could do to stop it. His shoulders dropped as he began to give

in to the despair filling his heart. For a brief moment, he let his gaze

sweep over the room in the hopes that someone—anyone—would

come save him.

A small movement of ragged brown fabric to one side of the circle

caught Ben’s attention. He watched from the edge of the trees, his

eyes never leaving the figure in brown. He caught sight of a small

pale face glancing out from behind stringy hair.

The dirty strawberry-blond hair was not what caught Ben’s

attention. Nor was the length, which seemed to go on forever, from

the top of the young man’s head to just below the soft curve of his

ass.

It was the huge sky-blue eyes that peeked out between the thick

strands of hair. They were the most expressive eyes Ben had ever

seen. Then the little man smiled at him, and Ben felt a strange

tightening in the middle of his chest.

The world around him simply disappeared. It was only the young

man and him. No one else existed. But as quickly as it had come, the

smile disappeared, along with the beautiful eyes that had seemed to

see into his very soul.

Ben leaned up on his feet to get a better look at him. At six-footnine, he stood taller than most men. In fact, he had never met anyone

who was taller than him. There was nearly nothing that could make

Ben leave the safety at the edge of the party. But the body was

huddled down behind the horde of partygoers, and Ben couldn’t get a

good look. He felt a need to find the young man.

If he had been truly thinking about it, he would have questioned

this obsessive need to find the man hiding on the other side of the

circle. And then he would have run for his life. But all he could feel

was an unnatural desire to hunt down the brown fabric and meet the

man who smiled at him.

Ben left his safety at the edge of the trees and began working his

way through the crowd, his eyes never leaving the young man. He

knew the man could see him walking to him by the slight turning of
