“That was before you went all sensitive gentleman on me. I’m almost twenty years old. I’ve known about sex for a long time. I never thought I’d get to experience it, and right now I’m waiting for my first orgasm and my first fuck. If it’s not you, I’m going to hunt down one of the other guys as soon as we get back. I don’t care how big his cock is. I imagine someone there will help me out.”

She blinked. Wow . . . was that really her? Going all alpha bitch on the poor guy? Damn, she hoped she didn’t get the giggles. That would totally blow it.

Igmutaka ran a finger along her cheek. “Did you know my first time with Adam and Liana was my first sex as a human? I was a virgin that night. And you’re right. Some of it hurt, but the pleasure and the pain are . . .” He shrugged. “They’re part of the same. The pain makes the pleasure greater. I promise I will be careful, but I can also promise you it will hurt.”

She shivered. Somehow, the mention of pain turned her on even more. Was that because of a lifetime without feeling? She didn’t know and certainly didn’t intend to worry about it now. Ig lifted her again, only this time he used his tongue on that tiny bundle of nerves she knew had to be her clitoris.

Her legs twitched and shivered with every lick of his tongue as he slowly, carefully brought her back to a fever pitch of arousal. He stroked her with his long fingers, teasing at her opening, pressing one finger as far as the membrane would allow, withdrawing it, pressing again. Her excitement built until she trembled from head to foot. His tongue grew more insistent. She balanced on the edge of something wonderful, but she had no idea how to make that final leap.

He wrapped his lips around her clit, sucking and using his tongue, pressing harder with his finger, until the combination of pressure, of incipient pain, of overwhelming pleasure grew, and grew some more.

Panting, her hips bucking in his grasp, she reached for something, for some unknown something when a shock of lightning struck deep inside. Her body clenched, her lips pulled back in a grimace she couldn’t control, and she wrapped her legs around his shoulders, tightened her thighs against his head, and pressed hard against the finger that was almost where it needed to be.

Almost but not quite. Lightning exploded again, her body jerked, and his finger pressed deep, tearing through, sinking deep. Sharp, biting pain, a rush of pleasure, screaming . . . that was her screaming as she went absolutely rigid—rigid and yet pulsing and clenching against his mouth, around his long, thick finger, against the brush of cool night air.

Sobbing, wanting more, aware her body would never be the same, she curled into Ig’s warm embrace and let him hold her until the shivering stopped. It seemed to take a long, long time as her body convulsed around that one long, thick finger slowly pressing in, sliding out, then in again. It stung, but it felt so good she didn’t want him to stop, and she already knew they were going to do this again, and then again.

But next time, she fully intended to ride this crest of pleasure with Ig’s Louisville Slugger buried deep inside.

Chapter 20

Millie raised her head, still half asleep but already instinctively sniffing the cool breeze. The wind had picked up, blowing out of the west and carrying the hint of coming weather . . . and something else. She rose to all four feet and glanced about the meadow.

They’d fallen asleep after all that amazing sex. She’d ended up with Nick, Ric with Beth, and then the four of them had fallen together in a tumble of warm and sticky human bodies before shifting and dozing off as wolves.

But something was wrong. Something that lifted the hackles along her spine and had her nipping at Ric’s shoulder, nudging Nick and Beth awake.

What is it?
Ric stood and shook himself.
Crap . . . I didn’t mean to fall asleep. It’s late. The moon’s gone down.

Nick raised his nose and sniffed the air.
I smell smoke. With this wind, it could be a long ways off. . . .

Or very close,
Beth added. She walked to the edge of the meadow where they’d been able to see the lights from town earlier.
Unless there’s a power outage, I think there’s a fire on the hills below us. It’s really smoky. Can’t see any lights.

The others trotted over. Ric shifted, standing tall for a better view. “Down there, to the south. See that glow? That’s fire. Looks like it’s near the main road.”

Millie stood beside him. “Good Goddess! With the way the wind is blowing, the house is right in the fire’s path!”

Ric nodded. “I’m raising Anton now.” He waited a moment, then he nodded again. “Stefan’s calling it in. Smoke’s thicker down there but no one had noticed it—they were all asleep. Anton’s checking to see who might still be out running.”

They waited, watching as the glow grew brighter. It was still miles away, but with the brisk wind and dryness typical of the fall, the forest was like tinder just waiting for a match.

“Shit.” Ric let out a big breath. “Everyone’s back but the four of us . . . and Igmutaka and Sunny. They went out hours ago. No one’s heard from them since.”

“Should we search for them?” Millie grabbed his hand.

Ric shook his head. “No. Anton’s going to try and reach them. He wants us back before it’s too late. He said the wind’s blowing a gale down there. There’s no time to evacuate, especially with everyone there. He said he’ll contact the Forest Service again and let them know there’s no need for rescue, that we’ve got a safe place to ride it out. Then they’ll fight it off as long as they can. If it looks like the house is going to go, they’ll head into the caves. Ig knows all the access points on the mountain. Anton will keep trying to reach him, tell them to take cover.”

They shifted and hit the ground running. Already the acrid scent of wood smoke was growing stronger, though the air was still clear enough to breathe. Millie sent out a call to Sunny, but there was no answer. Fighting a growing sense of panic, she raced with the others, running down the hill at full speed, heading for Anton’s huge home and the growing wall of flames.

Sunny hadn’t intended to fall asleep, but she didn’t mind a bit, not when she’d been awakened by the slow and sensual massage of Ig’s warm hands over her back and butt. Somehow, she’d ended up sprawled on top of him with the thick length of his erection trapped between her thighs.

He had definitely grown in the last few minutes since he’d brought her out of her sound sleep with whisper-light strokes of his fingers. She clamped her thighs around his thick shaft and smiled when he softly moaned.

They still hadn’t actually made love, but she knew it was going to happen. Soon. She honestly didn’t know where Igmutaka found his patience, though that appeared to be waning quickly. Still, even though she was growing more aware of his tension as the seconds passed, she couldn’t help but think that the man’s self-control was amazing . . . and it was definitely working.

She trusted him completely and now felt totally relaxed, her muscles almost fluid from his soft strokes and gentle kisses. At the same time, her level of arousal was steadily building. Her pussy no longer hurt at all, but he’d laved her with his tongue, soothed her with his slow and gentle ministrations, until she could think of nothing beyond the two of them connecting on that most primal level.

She was ready. She wanted him—now.

“I don’t want to hurt you.”

“I don’t want you to hurt me, either, but we’re going to do this.” She leaned close and kissed him. His lips were firm, not nearly as relaxed as they’d been earlier.

“Sunny. We can—”

She pressed her finger to his lips. “No. We can’t. Be still.” Then she planted her hands on his chest and rose to her knees. His cock rose with her, standing tall, a perfect—but immense—invitation. Slowly, carefully, she lowered herself over the broad head.

She was wet and buttery soft and warm down there, but she used her fingers to open herself wider, clasped his thick shaft, and rolled the tip back and forth between her legs, covering the crown with her fluids. He groaned again and she almost giggled. It appeared the man’s composure was fading fast. He clasped her thighs in his big hands, steadying her.

Tilting her hips, Sunny lowered herself, giving her body time to adjust, taking his first inch inside. Then another, and another, working the burn, easing slowly down the full length, well aware she was driving him absolutely insane.

Panting, legs trembling with the effort, she carefully rolled her hips, forcing him deeper. It seemed to take forever, but he held perfectly, rigidly still until, finally, she managed to take all of him. Panting, she rested her hands on his chest, leaned close, and kissed him. “Thank you. And for your information, it doesn’t hurt at all, though if you were even a fraction bigger, I don’t think this would work.”

He laughed, bouncing her up and down. Then he groaned and carefully rolled Sunny to her back. He grabbed her legs and wrapped them around his waist, put his hands beneath her back, and gently lifted her as he sat on his heels. She clung to him, wrapped her arms around his neck, and held him close.

He thrust slowly, carefully, perfectly angled so his thick, slick shaft rubbed over her clit on every penetration. She hadn’t expected to come again—this time really was for Ig—but she felt that amazing coil of heat building, growing, taking her closer to the now-familiar precipice.

Only it wasn’t the same—not this time. Not with him so deep inside, so deep that she felt his thick, deceptively hard glans bump against the even harder mouth of her cervix on every thrust, then the deep slide as he passed over the hard mouth of her womb and stretched her vaginal channel even further, filling her to her limits. Thick, hard, and hot, touching every nerve inside until her heart pounded and her lungs strained to keep up with the growing level of need, of sensual overload.

He’d taken her to her peak and beyond at least a dozen times already tonight. She couldn’t believe he was going to do it again. After a lifetime without sensation, making love with Igmutaka had probably ruined her for anyone else. She wanted to laugh with the joy she felt, with the utter freedom of sex with a man who only wanted to please her.

They were so much alike, and yet not. So similar in so many ways, and yet she knew he wasn’t her mate. Would never be her bonded mate. He was a man who loved her, as he loved them all, and for that gift alone, he would always be special.

At this moment, at this perfect time and place, she loved him without reservation. But deep in her heart, even as he filled her, as he made her body sing, Sunny knew she would one day love another. For some odd reason, that knowledge made the sex with Igmutaka even more special—more meaningful.

Another thrust, and another, and she was quivering inside, pulsing around his cock, shivering in his arms, and clutching him to her heart. Holding on to his hard body as he cried out, as his cock jerked inside, filling her with his hot release.

That blast of hot ejaculate against her womb was all it took. Sunny cried out and arched her back, forcing Igmutaka deeper. Her body rippled and clenched around him, her heart stuttered in her chest, and she leaned forward, collapsing loose-limbed and sobbing against his chest.

It was too much. It was perfect. It was—

A shout filled her mind.

But it wasn’t Ig’s cry of pleasure that caught her on the other side of orgasm. It was Anton’s warning. His frantic cry, telling them to hurry, warning them of mortal danger.

Fire burned on the mountain. Wind carried the flames and there was no time to waste. They must escape or die.

He and all the others were going into the caverns. He hoped they were near enough to find refuge in one of the caves that dotted these mountains.

Igmutaka answered. Then he raised his head and sniffed the air. “I’m sorry, sweet one. No time for pillow talk.” He stood up and set her on her feet.

Thick streams of his ejaculate spilled down her inner thighs. She smelled his scent on her, the pungent aroma of sex, but there was something else. Something terrifying.

“I smell smoke.” She looked around to see where it was coming from, but the night was black. The moon had either set or was lost behind unseen clouds of smoke. The trees hid any sign of flames. “What are we going to do?”

“Shift and follow me. There’s a cavern not too far. It leads to the ones that run beneath Anton’s home. We have to hurry, before the fire cuts us off from the entrance. The other openings into the system of caverns are much farther away.”

They shifted, and with her wolven eyes the night was not so dark, but the stink of smoke was all around. Animals passed them, moving out of harm’s way.

She and Ig did exactly the opposite. Running as quickly as she was able, Sunny followed him through the woods with her nose close to the ground where the air was clear.

They could hear the fire now, the roar of flames and the distant crackling of burning wood and falling trees. Sunny’s legs already trembled with the effort. She wasn’t used to running.

Hell, until yesterday, she couldn’t even walk. Hadn’t Adam and Logan cautioned her about taking it easy? She had a feeling this wasn’t quite what they’d meant—a night of amazing sex and a hard run through a dark forest fleeing for her life didn’t sound like the kind of therapy Logan had in mind.
