“Hey Chass!” he beamed and pulled her into a hug.

She lightly patted his back and pulled away from him, “Hey Kyle, how’s college going?”

“Good good, and I can see it’s treating you well!  You look amazing!”

This mother fucker acted like I wasn’t even standing there.

“It’s going really good, this is my boyfriend Jet.  Jet this is
Kyle.” She introduced us.  But neither of us shook hands we just nodded and said a brief ‘Hi’.

“So are you back for the race this weekend?”

“Yeah, I decided I should go and Jet wants to go too.  He races but won’t be this weekend.”

Kyle
looked me up and down, his jaw muscle ticked and his lip curled as he looked at all of my tattoos.

“Jet who?”

“Jet Crow.” I told him

“What class do you race?”

“Mods”

He grinned and nodded his head, “You’ll get to see how us Kansas boys do it then.”

Chassis shook her head, “I don’t think you intimidate him, he won Super Nationals this year.” She said and wrapped her arm around my waist so I put my arm over her shoulders.

“Ah so you’re a hot head?  Just because you won that makes you think you can take on anybody huh?”

“I didn’t say that.” I told him with a smile.

“Right, how long have you raced?”

“Since I was about seven.” He was getting fucking annoying.

“Chass here tell you that we dated for a year?”

Change of subject I guess.

“She was just telling me about her limited adventures in high school, she didn’t tell me she dated a race car driver though.” I said and looked down at her.

“Oh, I’m not the driver I crew chief for my brother that’ll be racing this evening.  Be sure to watch number eighteen James Orden.  He’s the best driver around this state, he won’t just GIVE you the race he’ll make you race hard for it.” He looked down at his watch, “Well it was great seeing you Chass I’ll look you up at the track maybe we can catch up.” He said with a wink.

“Sure.” She replied in a flat tone but smiled.   With that he turned and walked away.

On the walk back to her mom’s I made fun of Kyle the entire way, “Hey in my defense there wasn’t a very big selection of guys.  He cheated on me that’s why we broke up, because I wouldn’t have sex with him but other girls from the school would.”

He seems like a conceited asshole, I can’t wait to see how “Good” this James guy is.

When we got back to the house her mom had breakfast made so we all sat down and ate.  While Chassis showered I talked to her mom and we decided that she would take Chassis shopping then meet us at the race track around two that afternoon.  Chassis was excited to get to spend some time with her mom so she happily drove off to go shopping for a few hours.  Patrick had to go to work at three so he wouldn’t be at the races but made me promise to text him how Jerod and I did. “For the love of god please don’t show up at my ER, keep it on all four wheels.”

“I prefer to three wheel it most of the time, I don’t like when the left front is on the ground.” I told him, he shook his head and wished me good luck then left.

I showered and waited for John to show up to take me to the track, he honked once to let me know he was there so I locked up and walked out to the pickup.  On the drive to the track he told me, “Now some of these guys might recognize your last name, the stands were packed the night that the wreck happened.  Just ignore people if they ask if you’re Nate’s kid, I don’t want to have to break up any fights.”

I nodded my head and looked out the window as we made the last ten minute drive.

“Holy Shit this place is already fuckin’ packed!” He said with a big smile while looking at the pit area that was so full of pulling rigs and race car trailers it was over flowing into the main parking area where the spectators parked.

We pulled into the pit area next to my pulling rig, Jerod and Jason came over to the pickup. “This fucking sucks, they KNOW who we are and they don’t want to let you OR Jerod race!” Jason said very pissed off.

John got out of the pickup, slammed his door and took off towards the pit shack where the officials were.  Jerod and I followed behind him as he stormed inside the small building.  “Terry are you a fucking idiot?  You can’t tell these boys they can’t race, they drove four hours!” He yelled in the track owner’s face.

The old man grunted, “Those Crows ain’t nothing but fuckin’ drunks that are up to no good when they race here.” He said and kicked his feet up onto the small desk.

I stepped around John, “You don’t know me asshole and you don’t know my cousin.  I might be Nate’s son but I’m nothing like that asshole, give me and Jerod a fucking breathalyzer if you think we are stupid enough to race drunk!”

One of the owner’s sons stepped up and poked his finger in my chest, “Listen up asshole, it’s YOUR dad that killed one of the best racers around on THIS track.  You were there that night so was your mommy dear and your brother.  Not one single person from your pit crew tried to stop him so what does that say about what kind of people you are?  HUH?” he yelled in my face.

“Ray it was MY brother that died that night, and I can tell you this much.  These two boys are nothing like Nate!”

“Hey, the apple usually doesn’t fall far from the tree is all I’m saying!” he said while glaring at me.

It took all I had not to punch the overweight, balding asshole, “So you think we could have stopped him huh?” I shook my head, “You don’t have a fucking clue what was going on in our family and I’m not about to tell you.  What I can tell you is if you don’t let us race I’ll announce it to ALL the drivers and you’ll watch as we ALL get our money back and leave.  I’ve heard nothing but bad things about this god damn track to begin with.”

A
blonde haired lady that had on enough make-up she looked like MiMi from the Drew Carey show, a tight shirt that looked to be one size too small for her and jeans that looked like they were about to bust at the seams stepped up next to the son.  “Hey” (Oh fuck she had a nasally, finger nails down a chalk board type of voice) “You can’t talk to ANY of us like that, this is OUR race track we say who can and can NOT race here.  I will call the cops if you keep yelling!”

Jerod shook his head, “Let’s go, I’ll spread the word that they won’t let us race.” He said and pulled on my shoulder to leave.

Mimi Junior spoke up, “If you go talk to ANY of the drivers I’m calling the cops!  We’ll banned all of you from this race track too because WE CAN!” She said and smiled.

Jerod busted up laughing, before he could get out the door, the owner Terry stood up.  “Fine, you boys can race. You will start at the back, if you so much as even spin another car out your done no matter if it’s the heat race or not. You spin somebody out, load up and go back to Ohio.  This will be your last race here and tell all our out of state buddies we
don’t want them here either.  We do just fine on weekends without hot headed assholes showing up.”

“Not a fucking problem.” I said then turned and walked out with Jerod and John behind me.

“Good lord are they always like this?” Jerod asked John.

“Yep, that’s why the car count has gone to shit, they treat the drivers like shit.  I’m pretty sure this will be their last season open.  There’s an old race track ope
ning back up not far from here.  All these locals will race there and tell these people to fuck off.”

“That’s bad, this is a damn nice facility.” I told him.

“Was that ladies name Mimi by chance?” Jerod asked.

John laughed, “No
her name is Lisa, but we’ve all called her Mimi behind her back for years.  Wait until you have to watch her waddle across the pit area and try not to fall on her ass, it gets pretty comical.” He told us.

When we got back to the trailer Jason was sitting on the tailgate of John’s pickup, “Well?” he asked.

“We have to start at the back of each race, and we can’t spin anybody out or they’re going to black flag us and send us away.  Oh and this is our last race here, we’re never to come back.” I told him.

He shook his head, “Man I was hoping people were wrong about them but obviously they were telling the truth.  Assholes.
This is a points race they technically can’t do this, but it’s whatever.” He said then lowered the lift gate on the trailer.

As we were unloading the cars Chassis called to ask if I wanted her to bring anything to drink or snack on, “Last I heard the food was REALLY bad there.”

“Yeah you’d better grab something then, I’ll see you later.  I love you.”

“Love you too, see you after bit.”

I walked out of the trailer, “John surely they won’t tell her at the ticket booth that Jerod and I are racing will they?”

“Nah, the people up there are actually pretty cool, it’s just the owners and their spouses out here that are assholes to everybody.  Mimi doesn’t go up to the stands until after the races start, by then you two should have at least raced a heat race.”

****

The four hour drive back to Kansas was horrible, Jet would mess with my radio non-stop.  Even after I told him it was a pet peeve he still did it, he finally got the hint after I had back handed him in the chest almost a dozen times.  When we would stop for a bathroom break I had to make sure I took the keys with me so he couldn’t drive.  I know it makes me look like a bitch but my car was my baby, I had already decided he could drive on the way back to Ohio though I just didn’t tell him.

Supper with my family went great,
Patrick, mom’s “friend” was very nice.  The way moms face would light up when he talked about things they had been doing on weekends made me smile.  She wouldn’t call him her “boyfriend” because it made her feel like a teenager.  I laughed at her when she told me that.

After supper we were all in the living room talking about school and my birthday party.  I didn’t tell mom about the gifts I had gotten from Jason, Jerod, and Mitch though or she would have thought I was around nothing but a bunch of crazy horny men. After all the inflatable dick stood as tall as me, the bouquet of condoms was sitting on my dresser and the ugly clothes Mitch had bought me were stuffed in a bag ready to be thrown away because of the cat pee odor that lingered on them along with the house slippers.  Mom questioned Jet on what he had bought for me, I hadn’t given it much thought until she brought it up.  He told her it was in the car but before he could go get it his brother called him so he went out back on the patio to talk to him.  Since I knew they were in the car I was as patient as a five year old waiting to get them so I asked Jet where they were and he told me to bring the bag to him.  I ran out to the car and got the bag out of the trunk.  I waited a few minutes for Jet to come in but he looked like he was in a serious conversation with his brother. I pulled on shoe box sized package out and smiled at the
zebra colored wrapping paper.  I ripped it open and flipped the lid off the box, my mouth fell open when I pulled out a pair of pink fuzzy handcuffs and what I assumed were some kind of tie downs for my hands and ankles.  There was also a bunch of edible body oils, and a flogger (I only knew what that was from reading the book with Christian Grey in it).

Mom sat down beside me, “Oh my god!” she gasped as she looked at what I was holding in my hand and what else was inside the box.
Patrick and John both started laughing hysterically, “Oh shit.” I heard Jet say from behind me.

Needless to say she gave him the third degree, then later so did my Uncle.  They did like the other gifts he had given me in the OTHER box that was wrapped exactly like this one.  Mom made it very clear to us that we would NOT be sleeping together while we were staying there.  When Jet came inside from getting our bags I could tell that my Uncle had said
something to him that had him frustrated.  We almost had an argument about having kids, but I finally got through to Jet that we both are young and have a future so we just need to take it one day at a time.  He wanted to know if he was the one I seen in my future, what Jet didn’t know is he is the ONLY man I could see in my future until we had children.  As promised he slept on the couch and I slept in my room, neither of us tried to sneak to see each other but by eight o’clock the following morning I was ready to be alone with him.

We went for a run at my old high school track, I told Jet about the two boyfriends I had in school.  He laughed at the stories I told him about my first kiss and how my Uncle followed me around on some of my dates.  As we were walking away from the track I heard a familiar voice yell my name.  I turned around to see
my ex-boyfriend Kyle running towards me with a big smile on his face.

The conversation was beyond awkward,
Kyle acted like Jet wasn’t even there, then when he did talk to him he tried to come across as a badass.  He only ended up making himself look like a conceited jerk in my books, all the way back to mom’s Jet gave me crap about Kyle.  “I can’t wait to meet the other one.” He said.

“Hey
, MINE are normal, YOUR ex’s on the other hand…PSYCHOOOOs” I said in a sing song voice.

When we got back to moms
we ate breakfast then I showered and thought about how I couldn’t wait to see if Jet was actually going to use any of the gifts from that “box” on me.  Once I finished with my shower and was dressed I found mom, Patrick, and Jet sitting in the kitchen visiting.  Mom had apologized to Jet so I wasn’t worried about them not getting along.  Mom told me she wanted to take me shopping and let Jet hang out with Uncle John for a while, I was glad to see that Jet actually wanted to. I couldn’t wait to spend some time with mom.

While we were shopping mom told me all about her and
Patrick, she even hinted around that they had sex, luckily she didn’t elaborate on that part.  I told her that Jet had mentioned it to me about wanting to get a house together, she quickly told me absolutely not.  At least not until I was in my second year of college, “Please don’t be irresponsible Chass, I know you love him but just focus on school.  You don’t get these years back.” She told me.

After we were done shopping we met up with Asher, she told me that Mitch went with Jet and my Uncle when he seen them at the local quick shop getting fuel in the pickup.  “Are you excited to go to the races?  It’s been a while since you’ve been there for the memorial race.” She asked me.

“I’m excited to get to spend time with Jet, I can’t wait to see how hard it is for him to be in the grand stands and not be racing.”

She laughed, “I wonder if we should point Mimi
LISA out to him, she always prances around like she is some beauty queen.” She said while laughing.

I rolled my eyes and mom groaned, “Ugg how does she not see that she looks horrible?” My mom said.

We all laughed and walked to our cars in the parking lot. I called Jet to see if he wanted me to bring some food since the concession stand was known to serve some pretty gross food.  After we hung up we went back to the house so we could get changed. I put on my blue jeans that were faded and ripped above the knees, Jet’s racing shirt and my Nike Shox.  I grabbed the Super Nationals hoodie and followed mom out to her car.  No way was I going to take mine and risk somebody hitting it in the parking lot and mom didn’t even argue.

The drive to the race track to
ok about twenty minutes.  When we got there we had to wait in line to pay for almost an hour.

“Mom
, has it always been like this?  I don’t remember there being this long of a line…like ever.” I said and stood on my tip toes so I could look around.  The pit area was packed with big race haulers, flat bed car trailers, and single car trailers.  I looked at Asher that was smiling as she looked towards the pit area.

“I think it’s great this many people are here, plus they are chasing points don’t forget.”

“Ah yes, I forgot that this track is part of that circuit this season.” I said and moved forward in the line to pay.

Once we had finally made it through the ticket booth, we found a good spot close to the flag stand and up about four rows from the bottom.  The grandstands
were so packed I wasn’t sure we would be able to save a seat for Jet, Mitch, and Uncle John.  People continued to file in as the old four by four pickups drove around the race track packing it down for the first heat race.

I tried to call Jet but got no answer, the announcer announced it was time for the National Anthem.  The
people in the grand stands stood to their feet as a local high school girl sang, mom wiped tears away after the girl finished singing.  “Gets me every single time!” she said and smiled.  We sat down and watched as cars came out on the track to help pack it down.

“Asher have you talked to Mitch?  I can’t get Jet to answer his phone.” I said over the rumble of the cars.

She punched out a text, after a few minutes, “He said they are helping one of the other guys on his engine, they’ll be up here hopefully for the heat races.”

I rolled my eyes and laughed, “Go figure, I knew he couldn’t stay away from the pits!”

The heat races started with the four cylinder cars, I didn’t know any of the racers in that class but chose to cheer for the two women that were racing.  Each division had at least three heats of twelve, mom kept saying over and over she couldn’t believe how many people had showed up.  After the four cylinders, came the hobby stock, then the sport mods, and finally the A-modifieds.  Asher and I were walking back from the bathroom when the announcer started naming off the racers in the second heat race for the third name he said, “Jet Crow in the one j.” I stopped and looked at Asher that was smiling from ear to ear.

“He’s…is he racing?” I asked dumbly.

“That’s what he just said.” She pulled me in front of the packed grand stands back to our seat.  Mom stood and clapped as the cars rounded the track.  Jet’s car looked exactly the same except it had hot pink holographic numbers.  Jet was starting at the very back, and the heat race was only eleven laps.  There were three locals guys that I knew racing against him the rest were people I had met while in Boone.  Jet would try to pass one of the locals and have to back off to keep from spinning himself or the other guy out.  To advance to the A-main without having to run the B-feature Jet needed to finish in the top four.  Normally that was no problem for him but the local guys were racing him dirty and he wasn’t pushing back like he normally would.  I looked over at Asher that had her eyebrows drawn together and a very angry look on her face.

“What’s going on with him?” I yelled.

She shook her head, “I don’t know but he’s not racing as hard as he normally does.  Maybe it’s just because he’s never raced this track before?”  She yelled back with a question.  Jet finished the heat race in seventh place, the next heat race that came out Jerod was racing in.  Normally he raced hard too but this race he would do the same as Jet, lift off the gas and get pushed around.  He finished in sixth place so him and Jet were both going to have to race the B-feature to hopefully make the A-main.

“Let’s go, I’m going to see what’s going on with those two, they’re both racing like it’s their first time!” I said and started down the bleachers with Asher right behind me.
When we made it to the pit booth, Shawn the owners son was smiling at us, “Doesn’t look like those boys are as good as what they think.” He said as he secured my pit pass wrist band around my wrist.

“I don’t know what their deal is, those two normally race hard.  They act like their cars are going to break if they even rub against another car.” I said and stepped to the side so Asher could get her pit pass.

Shawn snorted, “I don’t know what you’re doing with an idiot like that Jet guy, and how you can fuck the son of the guy that killed your dad is beyond me.” He said then sat back down on the bar stool chair he had in the small pit office.

“Excuse me?” I said.

“Just go find your little fuck buddy Chass, I bet your dad is turning over in his grave with the shit your pulling by dating such a douche bag.”

“Fuck you dick head!” Asher said and pulled me away from the small shack.  We walked through the pit area until we found the hauling rig of Jet and Jerod’s. My uncle was in a heated conversation with Jason, until he seen Asher and me approaching.

I walked straight for Jet he was leaning against his car shaking his head at my Uncle.  “What in the hell kind of driving is that?” I asked when I was only a few feet from him.

“Don’t start with me…”

“Don’t start with you?  Are you and Jerod the same two drivers I’ve watched battle for first and second place?  Because the two guys I just watched acted like if they rubbed against another car…” I was interrupted by Jet.

“We CAN’T fucking race these locals like we normally would, because of these piss ant owners.  If we rub them the wrong way and they spin out we get sent home!” He yelled at me.

I stood there speechless and looked at Jerod, him and Jet both had their fire suites on but the tops knotted around their waist.  “What do you mean? Who told you that?” I asked and crossed my arms over my chest.

Jet
grabbed me by my upper arm and pulled me through the trailer into the living quarters and shut the door.  “The owners told us that, so what the fuck do you want us to do?” he said and paced the small space.  I reached out and grabbed his hand to stop him from pacing.

“Who cares just race them like you do any other drivers, it’s not like you are a dirty driver neither is Jerod.”  I said and slid my
arms around his neck.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me tighter against him, “I think a quick fuck would take off some
tension.” He said with a smile.  I shook my head ‘no’ at him, “Are you mad that I’m racing?” He asked with a concerned look on his face.  “It was meant to be a surprise, I hope…”

“Mmmm, I don’t know
, I think you race better when you have something to look forward to.  I’m not mad that you’re racing but I am pissed that you’re not racing hard.” I said then slipped my hand between his fire suit and the racing thermals he was wearing under the fire suit.  I pushed him against the door and locked it.  When his shoulders hit it with a thud he grinned at me and pulled me close to him by my hips.  I slid down his body until I was eye level with his crotch, then I unknotted his fire suit and slid it down his long muscular legs.  The thermals he had on showed that his cock was very hard and very erect just begging for me to touch him.  I grabbed his cock but didn’t slide his thermals down, I looked up at Jet, his eyes were dark and his chest rose and fell with a deeper rhythm.
