YIELDING FOR HIM

Lauren Fraser

Sometimes in order to have it all you have to be willing to risk everything.

Self-made billionaire Donovan James works hard and plays harder. After all life is no fun without risks. But finding a woman who agrees has been more difficult than he’d ever imagined, until now.

Lisa Scott knows how to get what she wants and what she wants is a life with Van. They belong together and she’ll do whatever it takes to make him realise it. Including taking him up on his challenge to invite his best friend, Jason, into their bed for one night.

She’ll give him his fantasy and in return, hopefully, she’ll get hers.

Dedication

To my amazing husband: without your support I wouldn’t be able to chase after my dreams.

Chapter One

Miss
Scott, you can’t go in there,” Donovan James’ secretary yelled.

“It’s fine, he’ll see me, Marianne.”

“No, he asked not to be disturbed,” Marianne called out.

Even through the door he could hear the mad scramble of a chair sliding across the floor and the rapid staccato of high-heeled shoes clicking across the floor. His office door swung open and Lisa Scott stood at the entranceway. “Van, call off your dog.”

His harried secretary Marianne stood beside Lisa. The fierce set of his assistant’s shoulders and her pursed lips almost made him laugh. Part of the reason why he’d hired her was because she intimidated practically everyone, but Lisa wasn’t like most people.

“I told her you were busy,” the older woman told him. Her displeasure with the other woman dripped from her tongue.

“It’s fine, Marianne,” Van assured her.

Lisa rolled her eyes at him then turned to the smaller woman and smiled. “Can I get a cup of tea when you get a chance?”

“Of course,” Marianne gritted.

He bit his lip to hide his amusement at the interplay. Marianne disliked every woman he dated on sight and Lisa had been no different, despite the fact that Lisa had remembered Marianne’s birthday and anniversary. Still, the older woman had no patience for her, now Lisa seemed to take pleasure in annoying his assistant.

Setting his pen down on the mountain of paperwork on his desk, he sighed. So much for getting through his work. Although if he was going to be interrupted, he couldn’t think of a better reason than Lisa. He scanned her body in the fitted skirt and blouse. Her dark brown hair was pulled back into some kind of knot and with her glasses on she had this whole librarian thing going on. And damned if the look didn’t just make him want to muss her up.

Her blue eyes twinkled as she pointed a finger at him. “Don’t even think about it, mister. I have a meeting to go to when I finish here.”

He held up his hands. “What’d I do? I was just looking. It’s not my fault you immediately think of sex the minute you see me.”

Lisa snorted. “Yeah, it’s all me.”

“What can I say, I’m irresistible.” He grinned at her. “All right, so if you didn’t come here for a quickie what brings you by?”

Lisa scrunched up her nose and held up two fingers about an inch apart. “I have a teeny tiny favour.”

Shit. Every time she had a teeny favour it cost him several thousand dollars in charitable donations. He wasn’t against donating to a good cause but not every cause Lisa took on was something he thought was worthwhile.

When they’d met ten months ago at a gala for multiple sclerosis she’d mesmerised him. His wallet had told him to steer clear. A woman whose fundraising expertise was coveted by every charitable organisation in town certainly understood how to get what she wanted.

But there’d been something about her that was different. Sure, she was beautiful but so had his date been at the time. It hadn’t mattered. Lisa had completely captivated him and to his complete surprise it hadn’t waned during their time together. If anything, it had grown.

Over the past several months, she’d learnt exactly which buttons to push to get what she wanted from him and he recognised it. But just because she knew he’d eventually cave didn’t mean he had to make it easy on her.

He leant back in his chair and crossed his arms over his chest. “All right, what’s it going to cost me?”

“Cost you? Oh nothing.” She waved her hand. “Well, practically nothing, a couple of tickets that’s all.”

Narrowing his eyes, he stared at her. What wasn’t she saying? There had to be more to it than just a couple of tickets. She looked far too uncomfortable about the conversation for it to be something as simple as that. Christ, how much were the tickets? “What are we talking?”

Lisa chewed her bottom lip. The unconscious gesture drew his eyes to her full lips, lips he knew plumped even fuller when they sucked his dick. His cock twitched beneath his zipper. He shifted in his chair to ease the discomfort.
Focus, Van. Otherwise this visit could get incredibly expensive.

“I haven’t set the price yet.” She batted her long eyelashes at him. “The price isn’t really what I need help with, it’s selling the idea.”

Oh boy, here it comes.
“The idea? Why would that be hard?”

“Well, see, I uh…I have this idea that I think would be amazing. I’m just not sure I can make it fly without some help.”

“Okay,” he said warily. Where was she going with this?

“With the latest erotica craze going on, I thought it would be fun to cash in on that and do sort of an S&M ball, fetish thing.”

Donovan stared at his girlfriend. The woman had lost her mind. “A fetish theme? For a children’s fundraiser, are you insane?” Where the hell did she come up with these ideas?

Lisa rolled her eyes. “Don’t be such a stick in the mud. It’s not like there would be kids at the actual event, Grandpa. You said it yourself, people get bored with the same-old-same-old. How many thousand-dollar-a-plate rubber chickens can one person eat? This would be new, fresh. It would be exciting. And I know if we did it right we could bring in a lot of money for charity.”

“Yes, but Lisa, you’re talking about asking old money to embrace the theme and it’s not going to happen.”

“Why not? You’d be all over the idea?”

Donovan smiled indulgently. “Yes, but I’m not old money, I’m new.”

“What’s the difference? You could buy and sell half of those old-money snobs without batting an eyelash. Come on, Van, if you endorse this idea people will be lined up to attend and you know it.”

She was right. Ever since his company had gone global the previous year his stock had gone up. Not just on the stock exchange but with Vancouver’s elite as well. Somehow owning a company worth billions had suddenly made him more desirable at the table. It seemed ridiculous to him but he wasn’t above taking advantage of the situation when the need arose.

She shifted in her seat and slowly crossed her legs. The movement drew her skirt higher up her thigh, leaving a tantalising amount of skin on display. Damn, the woman had killer thighs. He tore his attention from her legs and caught the amused smirk on her face. Busted.

Well, fine, two could play that game. He’d help her organise her fundraiser. But she was going to pay for it.

He rocked back in his chair and crossed his arms behind his head. “Sell me on the idea.”

A frown wrinkled her brow. “Sell you on it? What do you mean?”

He smirked at the confused, slightly nervous look on her face. This was going to be fun. “Well you want me to bend over backwards helping you, I think you need to make it worth my while.”

Lisa’s blue eyes narrowed. “Oh you do, do you? And just what did you have in mind?”

He shrugged. “I don’t know, honey. You can be awfully persuasive when you want to be.”

Amusement danced behind her eyes as she rolled her eyes. Without breaking eye contact with him, she flicked open the top button on her blouse. The movement was just enough to tease him, allowing him a glimpse at the shadow between her breasts but nothing else.

She moved to the edge of her seat and slowly uncrossed her legs. A flicker of blue flashed before she crossed her legs again. Damn, was she wearing the underwear he’d bought? Lord, he hoped so. The woman did things to a G-string that could make a grown man weep.

Lisa reached behind her and unclipped her hair. The brown locks tumbled in waves around her shoulders. He loved to tangle his hands in her hair. Hold her. Guide her where he wanted her to go.

Through half-lidded eyes, she watched him then ran her tongue along her lower lip. He could instantly imagine what her tongue would feel like along his shaft. His cock flexed eagerly.

“So, what would I have to do to convince you?”

Lisa toyed with the chain of her necklace, drawing his eyes yet again. She was good, he’d give her that. But he could be better.

“I don’t know. You’re a creative woman, I’m sure you can think of something.”

She trailed her fingers down the collar of her shirt, spreading the fabric open. He could fully see the scalloped edge of her blue bra. Jesus, she was wearing
that
set.

“I seem to remember you saying you had a little office fantasy that you had yet to live out.” She stood up and traced her hand along the desk. Her fingernails followed the pattern in the grain. “The problem is you had a few options. I think you might have to help me decide. I’m torn between the blow job or letting you fuck me on your desk.”

It all sounded good to him. Donovan pushed his chair away from the desk. “Why don’t we start with the blow job and work from there.”

She walked towards him, her hips swaying seductively with each step. This was a woman who knew how powerful she was and there was nothing sweeter than seeing her surrender some of that control to him.
