‘
I
got five bullets left.’
‘
Where
shall we go?’
‘
Let’s
just get out of here and regroup.’
‘
What
about Colt and the others?’ asked Sheridan.
‘
It’s
just us now,’ she said, heading off down the road.

Oliver
drove the truck out of the base and up the road. Natasha was sitting
beside him, stroking her bruised throat. Her head was pounding.
Bishop might have busted her cheekbone too. Everything hurt, but that
didn’t stop the smile that consumed her entire face. Oliver
could understand why. He got it. That fucking zombie had been after
her for weeks. The thing had tracked them half-way across the
country. Oliver thought he had killed Bishop the last time they had
met. He had put a bullet through his face, but this time he knew he
was dead. They were finally free.
‘
What
is that...?’ he gasped.
‘
What
is what...?’ Natasha’s eyes were the size of saucers.
They both looked up to the black clouds in the sky. Something was
coming down from above. It wasn’t just one thing. There were
hundreds of them. It took a moment for the realisation to kick in. It
was hundreds of black rocks. They looked like the one that had wiped
out half of Winchester. They were coming straight down from space.
The sky was filled with vapour trailers cutting through the clouds.
One of the rocks struck somewhere in the horizon. A second later and
a mushroom cloud of fire scorched the sky. Oliver slammed his foot
down on the brakes, bringing the car to an emergency stop. More and
more of the black rocks were coming through the clouds. They were
everywhere. In a matter of moments, the planet was engulfed by fire.
It
was an invasion.
A
new threat had come to Earth.

All
around the world people knew about the virus that had killed off
ninety-five percent of the population of the United Kingdom. For
nearly two months, the country had been under quarantine. Billions of
people were now glued to television screens or looking up towards the
skies, as black asteroids caused carnage around the globe. No country
was free from their touch. Overnight the dead began to rise, as the
zombie virus rose up into the atmosphere, bringing horror to all
corners of the Earth. The global damage from the asteroid impacts
caused tsunamis to devastate coastal countries, as sleeping volcanoes
came to life. Nuclear reactors erupted, as entire cities were
levelled. In a single night, the world was turned into a living
nightmare, as thousands of demonic aliens led an army of zombies
against mankind. The ultimate battle against the dead had just begun.

Five Days Notice
***
The
global economy has collapsed and the third world war has left the
planet a dark and deadly place. Having a job is like winning the
lottery. It is a rare and cherished thing. Society is split into two
classes, the poor and the damned. Only one superstore remains in the
city. The seven staff members work long hours for hardly any pay, but
they are considered the lucky ones.
River
is in love. He is in love with
the woman of his dreams. Only she doesn’t know it. Ariel lights
up his dark and lonely world. She is the reason he wakes up every
single morning. Her friendship and company give meaning to his
existence, but when job cuts are announced his world is turned upside
down. The staff is given five days notice. By the end of the week,
three members of staff will be fired, but how far is River willing to
go to ensure that the love of his life keeps her job?
With
uncertainty and doubt fuelling the fires of fear each member of staff
sets out on a dangerous path of deception. The flesh of the weak is
the food for the strong. It is a dog eat dog world. Friends become
enemies. Lovers become deceivers. You can trust no one. You can rely
on no one. You must do what needs to be done to make sure you
survive. You must steal, you must betray and you must kill. Betrayal,
deception, and corruption have never looked so sexy.
