Listen
Cassy, what about if you join me for lunch? I would like to know you
better.”He proposed.

I looked stunned at him. A
stranger had just invited me for lunch? I was going to refuse; he was
sexy OK, and gorgeous and although I felt attracted to this guy I
knew that I could never feel something for him. I was in love with
David. At that moment, his beautiful face came into my mind. He
wasn't as sexy as this guy maybe, but he had something that Tyler
didn't have, his sweetness, his kindness. Oh David.

Thank
you Tyler but.. I don't...”

But he didn't give me time
to say anything. He grabbed his backpack and took out a pen, then
clasped my hand and wrote the address of the hotel on the palm of my
hand.

See
you at one,” he said and then he ran away before I could finish
my sentence, leaving me staring blankly at him while he disappeared
round the corner. And now what was I going to do? I didn't want any
dates with other guys. I just wanted David. In what mess had I let
myself getting into? While I walked home I kept thinking on what to
do. Should I go? Well, actually it wasn't really a date. A lunch
couldn't be considered a real date I thought. I would talk about it
with my mum and see what she thinks.

David's POV

I couldn't stop thinking
about her. I kept thinking about what happened yesterday. She had
shivered in my arms. She wanted more than the kiss I gave her on her
neck. I really wanted to know what she feels for me, but I was
frightened. This was a new Cassidy. What will happen if one
day the old one comes back? Would she return to Tyler and leave me
heart broken again? No, I wouldn't stand it another time.

I was doing corrections; it
was Saturday. Kylie was at Bethany's house, and I was locked in my
office. I had preferred to go out, maybe go for her and
take her somewhere but I had a lot of work to do. Just then someone
knocked on the door. I stood up and went to open, and I felt my
stomach churning when I saw who the person in front of me was.

Hello
David!”

Tyler.
What are you doing here?” I snapped. I wasn't happy to see him.
His presence irritated me.

Just
to tell you I'm back.”

Back?”
I said furrowing an eyebrow.

Yeah,
back on track. David you'll never have her. I met her today; I still
have an effect on her. I could see it in her eyes.”

You
told her that you're...”

No,
but she will fall for me again I'm sure. Maybe you should give up
before hurting yourself again,” he said with a smirk.

I would have wanted to punch
his face and erase that impertinent smile he had. I felt anger
growing in me, as I thought about the fact that Cassidy almost
died because of him.

What?You're
joking right. I will never do that, do you understand? This time I
won't play fair. I won't leave her. I won't do the same mistakes I
did in the past. I didn't fight for her and accepted her decision
without doing anything. But not this time.” I said harshly.

Without
doing anything?” He said angrily. “Oh, this is hilarious.
You were always between us; you kept trying to destroy us!” He
retorted.

What?
No this is not true.”

He smiled sarcastically.

David
you tried to steal my wife from the first day you arrived here. Do
you think I'm blind? You even kissed her the day of the accident. I
saw you with my eyes.”

I was stunned and for a
moment I was left speechless.

She
wasn't happy with you and you know why?” I said when I managed
to find me voice.

No
illuminate me!”

 “
Because
she was in love with me. She knew she had done a mistake choosing
you, but she would have never left you because she's generous and
prefers to suffer herself than make someone else suffer.” I
breathed. I had been thinking this for years, but I never managed to
say it out loud.

Shut
up. This is not true.” He cried.

Oh
no? We'll see about that.”

I'm
going to see her for lunch,” he added then knowing this was
going to hurt me. In fact, it did. The news made my stomach contract
but I tried to keep calm and appear cool, I was not going to give him
any satisfactions.

Great,
she's been out with me yesterday. Tyler this time you'll suffer and
not me. I promise!”I said steadily. I tried to sound confident
as I looked directly in his eyes.

She
will never love you. It's only a matter of time, David if her memory
ever comes back what do you think it would happen huh? She'll return
to me. She belongs to me David and you can do nothing about that.”

Listen
her memory might never come back and if it will... well I'm ready to
take the risk. I won't give up on her ever!” I shouted. Who did
he think he was? How could he pretend to have her back after making
her suffer so much? After abandoning her in hospital!

OK.
Then you're leaving me no choice. The war has just begun.” He
simply said.

I
agree but to one condition.”

Condition?”

If
this time she chooses me you have to accept that and leave us alone.”
I insisted.

She
won't chose you.”

Then
you shouldn't have problems in accepting my condition.” I
challenged.

OK
deal, but if she chooses me, you'll have to leave this city and never
return.”

I looked at him and thought
for a second. Just the thought that I would never see Cassidy again
killed me, but I had to risk it all.

Deal.”
I agreed, and shook his hand.

CHAPTER 15

Cassidy's POV

When I returned home, my mum
was in the kitchen.

Mum,
I'm back!” I shouted from the living room. She walked in the
living room to greet me.

How
are you feeling? How did it go?”She asked me.

I'm
OK. It went better than I thought. Mum I met someone.” I told
her then.

Who?”

A
guy, he jogged with me. He also invited me for lunch.”

She looked at me with
narrowed eyes.

Really?”

Yeah,
isn't it strange? I mean I just met him and...”

How
is he? Describe.” She said interestedly.

Well,
in a word a hunk. He's tall, has amazing eyes, black hair and a
muscled body. He's gorgeous.”

Oh,
so you liked him.” She sounded almost disappointed.

Well
yes, but only physically. I mean I don't know him. His name is
Tyler.”

A shadow clouded my mother's
eyes as she looked at me in a strange way. She became nervous all of
a sudden why?

What's
wrong mum?”

Nothing
sweetheart. So are you going to meet him for lunch?” She asked.

Actually
I was going to ask you to give me advice.” I confessed. “
I'm not sure on what to do”

She sighed. “And
David?”

That's
the problem mum; I don't want to date any other men. I want David.”
Of that I was sure.

My mum thought for a moment
then she said something I wasn't expecting. “ If I were in you
I would go.”

What?
But I don't understand.” I said confused. I couldn't understand
her change of heart.

Honey
if you really want David, going out with someone else won't change
your feelings. Listen I want you to get to know others persons. David
is the only man you've met until now. It's better if you get to know
other persons before you decide. If you know what I mean.”

No,
actually I don't know what you mean. But maybe you're right, I need
to meet new people, my world right now revolves only around you David
and Kylie. And this won't be a date right?”

Not
exactly, you will only go for lunch, during day time, nothing can
happen.” She reassured me.

I nodded and decided to go.
I hurried to take a shower as I didn't have much time. As I washed
myself I wondered what I was going to wear. I didn't want to look too
sexy and this wasn't a date and in the mean time I didn't want to
wear something casual as I already knew that probably he would be
wearing a suit since he was the CEO. A CEO, just at that moment it
hit me. He was an important person, a wealthy one, why on earth would
he be losing time with me? And why mum had looked at me the way she
did when I mentioned his name. Had I known him already? I stepped out
of the shower and dried myself then I stormed towards my room and
opened my wardrobe glancing at my clothes. I had to admit that I had
quite a few nice garments, most of them branded.

Cassidy
are you ready?” Mum asked from behind the door.

No,
not yet, can you come in for a moment, please.” I asked. She
could help me to decide what to wear. She did.

What's
the matter honey?”

Mum
what should I wear? Do you think this dress is too much?”I said
showing her a red dress.

No,
it's perfect, red really suits you.” She said with a smile.

Mum
how come I have all these nice clothes. Did I have a good wage as an
accountant?” I asked.

Yes
honey, very good actually. You could afford anything.” She sat
down on the bed.

But?”
I prompted.

No
buts.” She said gazing away.

You
face says another thing. You were going to say something else, please
do.”

No,
it's just that. Money is not everything.”

I
wasn't happy right?”

Her mouth compressed into a
thin line as if she was struggling with her self to keep her mouth
shut.

Mum!”

No..
you weren't. I'm not going to say anything else. Just do what you
feel is right Cassidy. Live your life as you wish and for once try
and think about your own feelings and forget those of others.”

I wondered what she was
talking about. I couldn't understand her words but it didn't matter
right now. I was going to be late. At 12.30, we left, my mum gave me
a ride to the hotel. I was feeling really nervous and for some reason
I felt guilty. I was doing nothing wrong yet I still felt that maybe
I shouldn't have accepted Tyler's invitation.

Are
you OK Cas?” My mum asked when we arrived.

Not
sure. Mum I feel guilty.” I confessed.

What?
Why?”

What
am I doing here? This is not right. If David gets to know, he'll be
hurt.”

But
you don't have a relationship with him right?”

No,
but I have feelings for him, and I know he must feel the same, I see
it in his eyes. Mum maybe I should go back. I don't even know this
guy.” I concluded.

No
Cassidy, you have to go. Listen get to know him, it's important for
you.”
