Instead of responding to her, I decide I need of another shower. I head into the bathroom and turn on the shower. While the water's heating, I strip out of my clothes. The warm water cascading along my body is glorious. The sensation brings undesirable worries to the forefront of my mind. My eyes close voluntarily met with gleaming blue orbs looking back at me.
I wrap myself in a towel when blame makes an undesirable vicinity. I shouldn't be pulled into or fantasize after anybody; not even the insanely hot American.
I move toward my room but in the hallway I bump into something solid which sends me spiraling to the floor. I turn my gaze until I see what or whom hammered into me. Xavier gazes back at me.
"Can you stop eye-fucking me for two minutes so I can enter my room?" I protest, attempting to conceal my shame at my state of undress.
"Nothing can happen between us." I mumble under my breath and slam the door in his face, trusting he won't come after me. Yet, the trust is brief when I hear the door catching on the frame. "What the hell are you doing? You can't come into my room whenever you like! A girl needs privacy."
I don't get a reaction. Instead, his eyes run along my body, leaving a sense of heat in their wake. My body trembles.
"I need to warn you before I leave you will be mine."
My mouth opens and shut. Stunned, I try to summon a reaction yet come up short. "Whatever. Now leave."
Xavier's grinning at me, not endeavoring to move. I parade over to my closet, looking for something to wear. He takes a stride towards me, my body shakes with expectation. My labored breathing leaves me with the sense of giddiness. The warmth of his breath hitting my neck is bringing an undesirable sense of need. As he inclines in further, I wonder whether he will kiss me. He doesn't. Instead, he whispers, "I'm happy the attraction isn't one-sided."
He retraces his steps and heads towards the door. Before he leaves, he rehashes, "you will be mine," leaving me in a quivering mess and with a load of undesirable feelings.

Backstory: Christopher and Megan’s birthdays are about five months apart. Hers is the beginning of October and his is the beginning of March. Supposedly, Johnnie is six months younger than Christopher, but with his birthday at the end of July, roughly five months separate them. Ophelia—Christopher’s youngest sister—and Johnnie’s birthdays are ten years and two days apart. On the day Meggie and Christopher met, she turned eighteen.

Originally, K-P and Dinah were set to have their own book, Mistrust. However, when I changed the storyline in Misunderstood, the characters (and the series) went in an entirely different direction. At first, I stopped writing Misunderstood because Christopher was taking over the story, so I decided to write Misappropriate. With Misunderstood’s storyline again calling for MEGGIE to be in danger, I changed the plot. As the months went on, I came to the realization that the only time Christopher truly loses control is when it comes to Megan. There’s only so many times she can get stabbed, shot, or endangered, which played a huge factor in my decision to end the series. As I read through the books, I see there are many storylines but most of them involve Christopher and Meggie. For instance, Cee Cee Caldwell had other sons who are members of the American Scorpions MC. There was room for all sorts of conflict with that fact alone. As much as it pains me, however, after Misfit, the series will be over.
