“Can you filter it out?”

“I can try but at that distance it may not be great”

She stepped toward the screen, focusing on the section she wanted. Every nail biting second had her wolf pacing frantically.
As the image cleared she sighed heavily. This was not good. The tension in the room exploded.

“Where the fuck is he?” Marcus yelled.

“Search pack territory, speak to everyone, I want that traitor found” Connor snapped.

Enforcers ran out the room, leaving only Marcus, Connor, Luke and Tristan.

“I think you have a bigger problem than you realise. The evidence speaks for itself that Rhett is somehow involved. But on the plus side, the person he was grabbing is the Mckenzie girl, so at least we know that it is likely that your females are also in there”

“Why the fuck would he do this to his pack, to our females?” Tristan growled.

“I have no idea, but when we find him, he is mine, nobody touches him but me, are we understood?”

Marcus was furious, the treacherous bastard, all these years he had taken him into his pack and helped him build a new life for himself, then he goes and pulls a stunt like this!
They needed to act fast.

“Brianna talk to Lizzy
, see if she will help us”

“Alpha, please do not do this, if anything happened to her I would never forgive myself”. Connor was practically begging.

“Connor, I know that you and Lizzy are becoming close, and if it was Brianna I would be feeling exactly the same way, but the fact is we need to get in there without being decimated with silver. This is the way in my friend. I assure you that I will do everything I can to keep her involvement as minimal as possible and keep her safe”

“
I want her protected at all costs Marcus, she is mine, nobody will touch her and if they do I will rip their fuckin throats out”

He stormed out the room, slamming the door.

“If he had been anyone else I would have challenged him right now. But I know it is just his protective instincts firing off”

“Do you think they are mates?” Brianna asked.

“It’s possible, but right now we need to concentrate on a plan to get those females out, speak to Lizzy, ask her if she will help. Tristan chase up the vial that Michael will be testing, I want to know what the hell it is before we storm in there. Once we have that information, depending on Lizzy, we strike, take them out once the weapons have been disabled”

Tristan left the room with Luke.

“But, I thought we were not going to go in there with teeth bared, just in case they attack the women before we get to them”

“Baby,
I have every faith in my pack, they are strong and exceptional fighters. We will move fast once we are past the guards”

nd to get past the guards Lizzy will need me as well”

“Brianna……..”

Planting her hands on the table she glared at him.

“No Marcus, you would allow my friend to take a risk but not me?”

“She is not my mate!” he snapped.

“No but SHE is my friend and trust me she will need me to help her get to the guards. Besides, once inside the complex the last thing the female wolves will want to see is violent male wolves, sending in two females they can trust will make it easier for them, which in turn means they will be calmer and more controlled, reducing the risk of any fatalities”

Marcus stalked around the table to her, she could feel his body humming with energy, the alpha had stepped up. Reaching her he crushed her to him, devouring her mouth, she had to wrap her arms around his waist to stop herself falling. Breathlessly, he stared down at her.

“I love it when your alpha blood heats up baby, your scent increases,
your blue eyes become brighter and your heartbeat is wild and erratic”

Brianna pushed against his chest.

“So as my alpha blood has suggested a better approach rather than claws unsheathed, then we go with my plan?” she questioned.

“Your plan to some extent, we need to iron out some technical difficulties, but we will compromise on that”

“I take it you are learning to compromise, my alpha”

She was teasing him, the little minx was trying to get the wolf to take the bait, and he would, completely. Spinning her around
he gently pushed her down on the table, unzipping her jeans, dropping them to the ground.

“I see you agreed to my request”

Marcus leaned in licking one of his claiming marks, sending a shudder through her. Brianna heard his belt loosen and his zip open. She knew that at any moment someone could come in and that just shot her arousal through the roof. Grabbing her hips he plunged into her heated core, there was no gentle approach, she knew he was reprimanding her for teasing him, but yeah so what, if this is what happens every time she was naughty then bring it on. He took her hard and fast, his groans of pleasure music to her ears.

“You get me so hard when you disobey me Brianna, you need this, to show
you who is in control, your mate baby”

Brianna cried out as he pulled her back against him, anchoring her with a hand on her shoulder bringing her to stand. The pounding was reaching its peak, her body ached.

“Come for me Bri, let me feel you milk me”

Her body
shook around him and she swore she saw stars. Seconds later he bit her shoulder and came hard inside of her, the jerking of his shaft warming her and filling her. Gently he pulled out of her, picking her jeans up and fastening them for her. She licked her lips as she watched him push his flesh back in his jeans.

“You keep disobeying me then I will punish you again baby”

He leaned down, kissing her gently. God she loved this dominant alpha, punishment? Nah just sweet torture, she thought.

“Sweet torture baby? Interesting concept”

“Oh crap, I forgot you can read my thoughts now”

Laughing he took her hand leading her back through the pack house. Fortunately, the house was silent, but she could hear people moving about upstairs. Thank god his enforcers were not outside the door. Catching her thought he stopped her.

“Brianna, I know that it is a long time since you were in a pack, but even though I have officially claimed you, it also has to be done in front of the pack. They need to witness the alpha taking his mate”

Brianna stumbled a little as she heard his words. Please don’t tell me he is asking what I think he is. Nibbling her lip she looked up at him.

“A mating ceremony?”

“Yes, but it is not the full pack. The ceremony would be through the day with everyone gathered but the actual witnessed claiming would be at night with my enforcers and beta”

“Marcus please don’t ask me to have sex with you in front of your men, that would be so embarrassing”

“Brianna, it is the way of the pack, do you not remember such an event in your own pack?”

Brianna was young but she did remember the alpha going into the woods with his mate and his chosen enforcers, what she did remember was that they were in wolf form.

“I do remember, I know it is a tradition kept only for the alpha, and lucky me I mated an alpha” she mumbled.

Tenderly he brushed her hair off her face.

“I will only pick two of my best enforcers and beta, but we will be in our wolf forms baby, there is nothing more natural than that”

“Yes for a male, it’s just a chance to show his prowess, for the female its lie down and take a hammering” she snarled.

Pulling her to him, he nipped her earlobe.

“You will not be taking a hammering Brianna you will be being claimed in the most primal way of our kind, in a most ancient and beautiful ceremony”

“I need to think about it” she voiced.

“Ok baby, no problem”

No problem? God she was definitely due a girlie night, at least Katie was mated to an alpha, she could pick her brains about it. Leaving Mar
cus she went in search of Lizzy. And onto another battle she mused.

Brianna watched her friend pace back and forward on the gras
s at the back of the pack house, the smell of her anxiety was potent.

“I know that you
have not used your gift in years Lizzy but we really need your help, those women need your help!”

“Gift? You think this is a gift?”

Oh here we go again.

“Yes Lizzy
as I have told you many times, it is a gift not a curse!”

“Honey it is a curse, or have you not forgotten how my wolf was bound by some whacko pack seer who thought I was a danger to all who came near me?”

Her blond hair was whipping around her face, long legs making easy work of the vast space behind the house.

“No I have not forgotten
Lizzy, and as I made a promise to you when I first met you two years ago, we will find a way to break the damn curse!”

“Brianna, are you listening to me? I have not shifted in over five years, by all intents and purpose I should be rocking in a cage somewhere with no clue of who I was, or worse turned rogue!”

“Enough Lizzy!”

Her friend stopped her pacing and sat on the ground, hanging her head.
Brianna really did feel for her, it must be hell to not shift, her own wolf had freedom when she wanted it. But, Lizzy’s wolf was stuck inside of her with no way of getting out. When she found that wolf seer she was going to rip him a new hole. Sitting down next to her on the grass, she watched as her friend raised her eyes to her.

“Brianna, even
if I do help and can disable the weapons, what happens after that? I can’t shift and that is probably a huge advantage when you go into battle!”

“I know that Lizzy
, but you still have the speed of your wolf, even if she has not had her freedom in years. I will be with you every step of the way, I won’t let anything happen to you and Connor sure as hell won’t!”

At the me
ntion of the Betas name, Lizziy’s eyes lit up.

“I like him
Bri, really like him, my wolf recognises his wolf as her mate but she whines constantly because I will not let her have him. A beta cannot have a trapped submissive wolf, it would not work!”

“Why? You
take control of your life Lizzy, if he is the one then go for it and stuff pack hierarchy!”

“Maybe, but I can’t think about this right now. Ok you annoying persistent friend, I will help. If anything I know what it is like to be trapped as a female wolf, so maybe by doing this I can give myself some fuckin therapy!”

“Lizzy you’re the best” Brianna laughed.

Hugging her, she knew she had made the right decision.

Meeting Marcus at the alph
a house she told him that Lizzy was on board. What she did not tell him was that her wolf was bound. That was not her story to tell, if Lizzy wanted it in the open she would have said so. Brianna felt a little guilt that she had not been completely honest with him, but as long as Lizzy did her part she could take on the rest.

“Thank god, she agreed, I could not have just led my pack into a silver ambush like that, thank you for asking her”

“No problem. Marcus I will need to be with her as the stronger wolf and as she needs to be the first one there to disable the weapons. I have a plan which you probably won’t like but it will work, minimising the risk to Lizzy and myself”

Marcus stopped chopping the vegetables that he was making for the dinner. He turned around, giving her that bloody alpha stare, arms folded, leaning back against the counter, legs crossed at the ankle.

“I’m listening”

Brianna sat at the table, folding her hands in front of her.

“Okay but don’t yell, just here me out. We go as one unit, surround the whole perimeter. When the time is right, Lizzy and I will walk into the grounds of the complex…….”

“No!”

“Marcus will you bloody listen before making your judgement?”

When she got no response but a raised eyebrow she continued.

“What I was saying before you interrupted was that we are just two females wolves that have been running in the woods. We approach the guards, who will obviously take an interest and want to entice us in. The likely hood that Rhett would be outside is minimal judging by that timed footage so we won’t be recognised. Once we get close, Lizzy disables the weapons and then you and your enforcers can do what you do best, take them out to use your words.”

The silence between them was deafening for a couple of minutes. His eyes never left hers, Marcus was seriously thinking this over. His beautiful courageous mate might be on to something here, so why was he being an absolute pain in the neck? Pulling out the seat next to her, he lifted her onto his lap
, licking her mark on her neck, loving the way her body always responded when he did that.

“Even though I hate to admit it, I think that it would work, providing you stick to the plan, do exactly as I say and don’t take any ridiculous risks”
