Chapter 25

Friday, 4th October 2013

I rolled my eyes at Xander as I came out of the lecture theatre. He just stared impassively back at me but his eyes were laughing.

“’Sup, big guy,” Adam greeted him as he followed me out into the hall.

“Collins,” Xander nodded his head in
acknowledgement.

“It’s creepy you just waiting around for me while I’m in lectures, you know that right?” I scowled.

Xander just raised his eyebrow at me. I wasn’t really annoyed at him, I knew he was just doing his job. I was just frazzled. We’d just come out of our last lecture of the first week back and I was tired.

“Sorry, Xander,” I mumbled. “I didn’t mean to snap.”

He nodded and led the way back to our house. That was one of the good things about Xander. He didn’t speak much but he didn’t hold a grudge either. We’d spent enough time around each other that we’d gotten to know one another. I knew that he wasn’t really offended by me snapping at him. If anything he was amused.

“Go get changed,” he ordered
once we were through the front door.

“Yes, boss,” I answered with a bite of sarcasm.

Xander smirked back. I didn’t really mind. I was excited. It had taken a good deal of arguing to get Xander to compromise and let me go back to athletics club. Jason had managed to convince the others that we should use the indoor track and Xander had finally agreed. He didn’t like the idea of me having a predictable routine but he would have never said yes if we’d been at the outdoor track.

“Jason!” I beamed, sprinting the last few meters between us to jump into his arms.

Now that term had begun, Jason was back to being crazy busy and I missed having him to myself as much as I had over the summer break.

“Hey, little squirrel,” Jason squeezed me against his firm body and I took the opportunity to breathe in that fresh paper smell that melted my heart and warmed my core.
“Ready to sweat?” He graced me with his million-dollar smile.

“Only if you promise to help me clean up afterwards,” I replied with the compulsory blush, proud of my boldness.

He closed his eyes briefly and pulled me closer. “You are so fucking perfect, you know that?”

I opened my mouth to argue with him but he silenced me with a heated kiss before turning around to call the group in.
He did that on purpose
.

I waved and said hello to all the familiar faces and a few new ones I’d met wh
ilst helping out at the freshers’ fair. I did a double take when I spotted Shana hovering at the edge of the group. She met my eyes briefly but immediately shifted her gaze away.

I wasn’t sure what to think. She’d stopped showing up completely after she made a move on Jason. I knew they’d had words after it happened and Jason had told her that there would never be anything between them and that he didn’t think it was a good idea if they stayed friends. It had hurt him to be cruel to her but he wasn’t doing her any favours by trying to stay friends with her when she was clearly still in love with him.

Seeing her at training worried me.
Is she still in love with him?
I studied her across the crowd whilst Jason talked to the group. She looked different. She was still beautiful but she looked a little gaunt. She was holding herself differently, her shoulders slouched forward and her arms wrapped around herself protectively.

I felt bad for her; s
he didn’t look happy at all. She was stood on her own, another rare sight. Jason was an important and respected part of the club and I think a lot of the members resented her trying to come between us like she had. None of them seemed to want to stand with her.

Jason announced that we’d need to get into groups of four for the session and I saw the look of panic on Shana’s face as she glanced around to see who she could possibly group off with. Most people were studiously avoiding making eye contact with her.

Jason caught my eye and I could tell he wanted us to be together. Normally, I would have loved that but he was much faster than me anyway and I couldn’t stomach the idea of making Shana feel like an outcast. It must have taken a lot for her to come here today, especially knowing she’d be walking into such a hostile environment.

I waved
Jason off and made my way towards Shana. I was happy to see Lottie at her side. At least she had her best friend.

“Hi, Shana,” I smiled kindly, trying to let her know that there was nothing hostile in my approach.

“Hi,” she replied nervously. She was just a shadow of the confident woman she’d been before and I felt bad for her.

Could I really blame her for being in love with Jason?
I was in love with him too. I was just lucky enough that he loved me back.

“Mind if I team up with you two?” I asked
, looking back and forth between the two of them.

“Uh,” Lottie hedged.

“Why?” Shana snapped, she looked something between angry and confused.

“I… I…
” I hesitated. Maybe I’d misjudged the situation. If the tables were turned, I’d probably resent Shana. “Never mind, sorry. I was just… sorry.” I turned to walk away but Shana caught my arm.

“No. I mean, why would you want to be with me?” She asked, studying me as if she thought I was playing some sort of joke.

I opened my mouth, trying to figure out what to say that wouldn’t make it sound like I was taking pity on her. Nobody wants to be pitied.

“You must hate me,” Shana half-whispered.

“I don’t hate you, Shana,” I shook my head. “I don’t hate anyone.” Although I was pretty sure that what I felt for Jason’s father was very close to hate. “I don’t approve of what you did, but I think I understand. I don’t need enemies, Shana, but you can never have too many friends.”

Shana looked a little flabbergasted but she managed a half smile. We grabbed one of the first years to complete our group. I wouldn’t say the session went
smoothly but it definitely got easier.

A few of the others seemed to notice that I was okay with Shana and were more pleasant with her by the
time Jason called us in to sum up the session.

“You grouped up with Shana?” Jason asked me once we were done and heading towards where Xander was stood by the main door.

“Yeah,” I shrugged. “People were avoiding her and I wouldn’t have wanted to be in that situation had it been the other way round.”

“She wasn’t a bitch to you?” He frowned.

“No,” I shook my head. “She was pleasant. I think she’s ashamed, Jason.”

He
just nodded and tucked me under his arm.

“She made a mistake. She shouldn’t be made a social outcast because of it. She enjoys athletics. I don’t want her to miss out on that,” I continued.

Jason stopped and turned to face me, cupping my face in his hand. “You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met. Inside and out. I can’t believe you’d try and reach out to somebody after they’d wronged you.” He swooped in to kiss me before I could protest and I let him because I loved the passion in his embrace, the love and adoration that was being communicated through his kiss.

“Let’s get you home and cleaned up as promised,” he grinned.

“Deal,” I smiled happily back at him.

Chapter 26

Monday, 7th October 2013

“I can’t believe it’s been a year already,” I repeated for what must have been the millionth time that day.

“Me neither,” Jason smiled back, opening the door for me. He looked so mouth-wateringly handsome in his suit.

He’d taken me to dinner at an unbelievably classy restaurant in honour of our anniversary. It was absolutely perfect. Delicious food, beautiful surroundings
, and the best possible company. Now that we’d arrived back at his flat, I was looking forwards to saying thank you – naked style.

Xander had stayed with us at the restaurant and been in the chauffer driven car on the way back. Yes, chauffeur driven, I’d been thoroughly spoilt. He
was staying the night in Josh’s room because Josh was out with his lovely new girlfriend. Now, though, we needed some privacy.

“Jamie, this last year with you has been the best of my life,” Jason said, pulling me into his chest as we shut his bedroom door behind us.

“For me too,” I smiled shyly up at him. “I love you, Jason.”

“I love you too, little squirrel,” he answered, his hands slowly pulling down the
zip on my dress. “You want the second part of your present?”

I looked down at the silver bracelet on my arm. It was beautiful and I loved it. I hadn’t been expecting anything. Clearly we’d been thinking along the same vein though because I’d gotten him a wound leather bracelet with our names burnt into the band in cursive script.

“If the second part is you naked, then yes please,” I grinned, already working his shirt buttons open to reveal the spattering of chest hair on his firm chest.

“That’s a given,” he chuckled. “But that’s not what I was going to give you.” He looked a little nervous and that
made me curious. He was usually so sure of himself. “Here,” he handed me a small box of what appeared to be truffles.

“More chocolates?” I smiled happily.

“Sort of,” he nodded distractedly, removing my dress completely and letting it pool at my feet.

“More question chocolates?” I probed, returning the favour and relieving him of his shirt so I could start on his trousers.

“Sort of,” he repeated, still looking somewhat nervous.

“I’m intrigued,” I looked at him curiously, meeting his eyes whilst my fingers worked their way into the band of his boxers.

“Wait a sec, baby,” Jason grinned, pulling my hands away from his goods and sitting down on the edge of the bed with me on his lap.

I pouted but went to his lap happily, curious to know what he had to say about my chocolates.

“I know you want me to open up more, baby,” Jason started, running his fingers down my almost naked back.

I took a deep breath and held it
.
Is this it? Am I finally about to get answers to the questions I’ve had for a year now?

“I know it bothers you and I’m sorry,
Jamie.” He pressed a warm kiss to my forehead.

“It’s okay, Jason. I understand that it’s hard for you. I just want to know you as well as you know me,” I reassured him.

“I know, Jamie,” he sighed. “I guess… I guess I’m just scared.”

“Why would you be scared?” I frowned.

“I can’t lose you, Jamie-Lea,” he said with unbridled urgency. “You’re my life, baby. Nothing mattered before I met you. I didn’t care what happened to me. I went to university to prove my dad wrong, to prove that I could be something. To him, I was worthless. I wanted to show him he was wrong.” He took a deep breath and my heart broke a little. “My point is, I didn’t do it for me and that was fucked up. Now, though, I want to be something for myself because I want to be the best I can be… for you.  You mean the world to me, Jamie, and I can’t be without you.”

“Jason,” I breathed
, my heart breaking once more for the little boy who’d been made to feel worthless. “I want you. Just you. You could be a hobo for all I care as long as you’re happy. Nothing I could learn about you would make me leave you. I love you for everything you are.”

He kissed me then, deeply and with an overwhelming heat. He held me tightly in his arms, his tongue caressing mine
as we became swept up in the wave of passion.

“One request,” Jason managed breathily, pulling himself away from me.

“Anything, as long as you kiss me again,” I replied, already manoeuvring towards him, desperate to continue our embrace.

Jason kissed me, albeit more chastely than previously, and the serious expression on his face had me pulling back a little to make sure he was okay.

“What’s your request?” I smiled coyly, stroking his cheek gently in an attempt to reassure him that I was serious about never leaving him.

“Can the questions wait until tomorrow? I’m having an amazing day with you and if this is the last night we’ll spend together I want to fully enjoy it.”

I admonished him with my gaze but the seriousness of his tone stabbed at my very soul. Whatever Jason was keeping back was something he was convinced would change the way I felt about him. And wasn’t that just ridiculous?

“We can wait with the questions, Jason,” I smiled tentatively, trying hard not to show how much it hurt to see him so scared. “But not because they’re going to change anything between us. Whatever has happened in your past, whatever it is you’re scared to tell me, it doesn’t change anything between us. Each person is
the sum of their experiences, choices and decisions. Everything that has happened to you – the good, the bad, and the ugly – is just another chapter in the story of your life. Everybody has their own story and without yours, you wouldn’t be the man you are today. And I love that man.”

Jason blinked and narrowed his eyes ever so
slightly. I could tell he didn’t quite believe me but that was okay. I’d make him believe. The look in his eyes was familiar to me because I knew I’d worn that same expression many times over the years. It was a cry for help, the need for the strength and support of somebody else to make it through.

I hadn’t needed that expression so much recently because Jason gave me my own strength. That strength could now, in turn, help me to be there for him as he’d been for me so many times before.

“You trust me, right?” I prompted when Jason still hadn’t snapped out of his anxious trance.

“Of course, little squirrel,” he half-smiled back, some of the pain in his eyes diminishing.

I smiled back, a full smile, because I was happy to see my Jason returning. “Then let me take care of you,” I simpered, sliding off his lap and pulling him to his feet.

“Jamie-” Jason started but I pressed my finger to his lips to qui
et him and then replaced it with a gentle kiss.

“I need to do this, Jason,” I reassured him. “Please let me do this. Let me show you how much I love you.” I slipped my fingers into the band of his boxers, tracing around them before I eased them down.

Jason didn’t say anything so I took his silence as acquiescence. Once I had him naked, I playfully pushed him backwards onto the bed. He fell back, pushing himself up onto his elbows so that he could watch me.

“Stay,” I warned teasingly, shooting him my best attempt at a sultry smile.

Jason raised his eyebrow in a cocky smirk. It reminded me of the discussion we’d once had where I’d threatened to pin him to the bed to get information out of him. He was offering up the information freely now but he’d said the only way I’d get him pinned to the bed was if he let me. I didn’t really understand what he meant at the time but I did now. The only way I’d have the power in the bedroom was if he’d ceded it, which would mean I’d never have that power at all. It’d just be an illusion.

May
be that was true to some degree; Jason was a strong, alpha male personality. I knew that about him and it was one of the reasons why he was so damn sexy. So what if he liked that control? It worked for us. I was glad that he was letting me step outside the norm in order to take care of him though. It didn’t really bother me that the power balance was skewed in our sexual relationship because it was completely balanced in all other aspects. I trusted Jason to the core and the ultimate power rested with me because I never doubted that he would respect my wishes if I ever said no.

“You’re wearing too many clothes,” Jason growled
, his eyes dark with passion and his firm cock held in one hand.

“No touching,” I smirked, pointing to his hand, barely supressing a giggle at the look of amusement on his face.

He placated me and released himself, leaning back on his elbows once more. “Clothes,” he repeated slowly, penetrating me with his smouldering glare.

“Bossy,” I goaded with a sweet smile. I reached back behind myself and slowly opened the clasp of my bra. I was wearing the beautiful Agent Provocateur set that Jason had bought me for my birthday.

I let the exquisite garment slide slowly down my arms and cast it aside. I quickly covered up my breasts with my hands and bit my lower lip, teasing Jason.

“Are you touching yourself, Jamie?” His eyebrow was raised
in silent challenge as he fought a losing battle not to smile.

I smirked. If I was going to get a spanking then I might as well make the most of it. I maintained eye contact with him and tilted my head so that the ends of my soft curls trailed across the swell of my breasts. My fingers worked in tandem, tweaking my sensitive nipples and coaxing them into hardened pebbles of pleasure.

The glare of desire in his eyes shone brightly and I felt his gaze burning trails across my body as he watched me teasing him. I let my left hand trail over my abdomen, still not breaking eye contact as I slid it inside the delicate material of my knickers. My folds were hot and slick in anticipation of the beautiful example of man before me.
My man
.

“Jamie,” Jason growled.

I knew it was killing him to watch me touch myself and I bit back another smirk. His need to be in control was fighting with how turned on he was watching me; I could see the conflict on his face. I decided to take pity on him and withdrew both my hands so that I could ease my underwear down my legs.

I unfolded and stood straight before him, grateful for the confidence I
now had in my body. He beckoned me closer with a curl of his finger and I cocked my head at him and put my hands on my hips to remind him who was meant to be calling the shots.

He sighed in frustration but I could see the sides of his lips pulling up. He was enjoying the tease as much as I was but I still wondered how much further I could push him. I climbed up onto the bed, straddling his abdomen. Jason’s hands automatically went to my waist but I cut him off.

“Nope,” I shook my head, guiding his hands back down to the mattress and pinning them there. “No touching. Your hands stay here.” I tried to form my face into a stern expression, hoping it was genetic because my brothers were bloody good at it.

Jason chuckled but let me pin him to the bed and kept his hands there. I wasn’t stupid, I knew he could easily overpower me and was letting me lead on purpose. For some reason that just made it ten times hotter. There was something erotic about having power of someone who exuded so much power himself, even if it was just a temporary exchange.

I kissed him gently on the lips as a thank you before moving to his neck and that special spot behind his ear. My kisses were less gentle here, my tongue joining in to taste the rich flavour of his skin. Traveling over his torso, my mouth greedily explored him. It was familiar terrain but every crevice, dip, and valley was still as exciting to me as the first time I’d seen him semi-naked from across the pool, only now he was mine and I fully intended to take advantage.

He groaned as my tongue washed over the flat surface of his right nipple and it hardened under my touch. I felt his hands jerk away from the mattress and move towards me and I sat up immediately.

“They stay there or I stop,” I warned him with a smile.

He frowned with obvious frustration but grudgingly returned his hands to the mattress, sliding
them behind his head as if he didn’t trust himself to keep them on the mattress unless there was something holding them there.

“Good boy,” I goaded him. I couldn’t help myself.

A flash of amusement showed in his eyes but it did nothing to dull the flaming desire. Spurred on, I continued my sensual exploration, licking my way along his taught abdomen and around his navel. Shuffling further down the bed I took him in hand, the hot flesh of his arousal still as satisfying as the first time I laid hands on the velvet covered steel that could ravish my body with pure, unadulterated pleasure.

“Fuck, Jamie, that feels so good, baby,” Jason growled, his breathing ragged.

I sucked him deeper and pumped the bottom of his shaft as I worked him. I meant it when I said that this had been the best year of my life and actions spoke louder than words. I’d felt so safe and taken care of with Jason over the past year, despite all that had happened. Now it was my turn to take care of him.

“Stop, baby,” he whispered. “You need to stop.”

Translation: he wanted to come inside me, not in my mouth. But I was the one in control. I looked up at him and smiled around his cock as I slowed the pace, trailing my tongue along the underside of his shaft and flicking it around his head a few times before I pulled off of him completely.
