He stopped on
the precipice of my third orgasm and removed the dildo from my back entrance. He
then hovered back over me, locking on my eyes. “I want you there.”

His tone left no
mistake that he wasn’t asking. Yet knowing the man that he was, I knew if I
said no, he wouldn’t proceed.

I nodded and was
met with another searing kiss.

“Get on your
knees.”

Complying, I
felt a vibration then something large was inserted into my wet entrance. Oh,
my, he was going to fill me both ways.

“Relax and let
me in.” His tip was probing and the distinct sound of lubrication came from
behind me.

I steadied my
breathing as much as I could but the anticipation was killing me.

He held my hips
and the first inch of him stretched me. A delicious burn reminded me where he
was, and his erratic breathing told me just how turned on he was at the
prospect.

He moved slowly,
letting me adjust when he was finally past muscle. I could hear his ragged
breaths, and when his fingers reached around to my clit, I was in pleasure
overload. I rocked back into him and heard his hiss.

“Fuck. Go easy,
I don’t want to hurt you.”

I pushed back
again, enjoying the rare moment where I got to take him off guard. I rose up on
my knees slowly until my back was flush with his chest. His hands gripped my
hips and with a final drive he was all the way in.

His hands shifted
to my breasts while he moved with shallow thrusts. “Do you like it with me here
in your ass?”

His dirty talk would
be the death of me. “Yes,” I whispered, shamelessly moving back into him on a
deeper thrust.

He muttered a
string of curse words, driving me to do it again. His fingers strummed my clit
and suddenly I was out of my mind with lust. I about blacked out from the
building pressure and, in spectacular fashion, my core muscles tightened and I
exploded. I don’t know how long my orgasm lasted, but I vaguely registered his
groan and then the wetness on the small of my back.

I collapsed down
onto my stomach, feeling him next to me.

Removing the
vibrator, he wiped my back with a towel, and got off the table. He released my
ankles from the ties first. Then reaching over, he expeditiously turned me over
gently, removing the little clamps from my nipples and throwing them into a bag
along with what I guessed were the other items used. He crossed the room,
opening a door in the back. A few minutes later, his footsteps came in my
direction again. My heavy eyes watched him pull on his clothes.

“There’s a
bathroom in the back where you can wash up or take a shower. I called up front.
Catherine is finished and waiting for you in the bar.”

I pushed up and
noticed he was barely making eye contact. I couldn’t read his mood. “Okay.”

“Text me when
you get home. I want to know you arrived safe.” He managed one last glance and
then disappeared out the door through which we’d entered.

***

After taking a
few minutes to pull myself together, I cleaned up and dressed quickly before
making my way to the bar to fetch Catherine. We didn’t speak until we were in
the car, both of us seemed to be whirling with what had transpired over the
last hour.

Finally unable
to stand it any longer, I stole a look at my friend. “So …” I prompted.

She turned crimson.
“It was good, but I think I’m still processing. We talked the whole time.”

Shit, this was
the part where I was a sucky friend because I didn’t know whether to leave her
alone or push. I decided for a compromise. “Would you go back?”

“Maybe,” she sighed.
“Probably. We, uh, mostly spoke about what the lessons could or would entail.
Part of me feels like a complete loser that I would need to stoop to this.” Her
eyes looked teary.

I squeezed her
hand. “Catherine, you’re not a loser. Get that out of your head right now. What
you are is a woman who is brave, smart, beautiful, and kind. Your husband
turned out to be a real jerk, and this may be your opportunity to get back out
there and put him out of your mind once and for all. What you need to think
about is how you felt in there, not what someone else thinks about it. I’m one
hundred percent supportive as long as you’re happy and comfortable. Okay?”

She smiled.
“You’re a good friend, Sasha. Thank you. So, uh, how did things go with you?”

It was my turn to
blush three shades. “He’s ticked off, and I learned they rent rooms to couples.
Beyond that, I couldn’t tell you much more.”

“I’m sorry that
I put you guys in that kind of position.” Her eyes widened, and then she shook
her head. “No pun intended. Sorry.”

I couldn’t help
it; I burst out in giggles, and suddenly she did the same. By the time we made
it to my place, we were both wiping tears from our eyes.

“If you can’t
laugh at moments like these with your girlfriends, then you truly haven’t known
friendship,” Catherine finally said.

I couldn’t have
put it any better. “I’m lucky to call you friend. And for the record, Brian was
plenty pissed off before we even went this evening.” The car came to a stop in
front of my place. I hugged her, and she pulled back, motioning out the car
window with her hand.

“Oh, I’d argue
that he can’t be that pissed off because isn’t that him?”

Looking at the
entrance of my building, I saw that, sure enough, there he was in the lobby
waiting on me.

CHAPTER
TWENTY TWO

With the way
Brian had left me, I was astonished to see him here at my building. But damn if
my pulse didn’t race at the sight of him. We rode the elevator in silence to my
floor. I unlocked my front door, and he quietly followed me in.

Slipping off my
shoes, I faced him. “I didn’t expect you to be here tonight.”

He shed his
coat. “I owe you an apology—”

I hadn’t
expected that. “Okay, I’m listening.”

He pulled me
into his arms, and led me gently onto his lap on the sofa. “I’m sorry for
getting mad.” He kissed my neck.

I took a deep
breath and realized those words held a lot of power. Especially being someone
who didn’t say them often enough myself. “I’m sorry we didn’t discuss it ahead
of time, but it was sprung on me last minute. I hope you understand why I had
to go.”

“I didn’t at
first, but then I realized I’d do anything for my friends and you were doing
the same for yours. Plus you were up front with me with where you were. If
anything, at the end I was angrier with myself than with you. I shouldn’t have
treated you the way I did.”

I couldn’t help
but smile. “I think it could be argued that kind of tortured pleasure wasn’t so
bad.”

He let out a
sigh of relief. “You liked it?”

I felt my face
heat, but was honest. “I did, but maybe next time we could do it without invoking
rule number one.”

He smiled and
held me a few minutes. “Definitely. We’re both tired, and I’d like nothing more
than to take a nice hot shower and slip into bed with you. Can we do that?”

I nodded and was
led into my bathroom. He warmed up the water and we both stepped in under the
spray. We took turns silently washing one another, and I finally couldn’t stand
it any longer. “I need to ask you something …”

He tensed and
then sighed. “I knew about that place because I’d been there with someone a
couple of years ago. The woman I was with was into some pretty hard-core things,
and she wanted me to learn how to be more dominant, incorporating the pain
aspect. She had me watch another couple with her. I hated it. Call me crazy,
but whipping or caning a woman isn’t something I can stomach. She wanted it. I
didn’t. End of story and our arrangement. And maybe my history had something to
do with my initial reaction to you being there.”

I stood there a
full minute processing, unable to respond.

“You wanted to
know,” he muttered defensively, waiting for my reaction.

“Uh, no. I
didn’t. I wanted to ask you if you enjoyed it tonight. I don’t have a frame of
reference for that type of sex.”

Now it was his
turn to look stunned; then his arms went around me. He let out a shaky breath. “Remind
me to never answer a question that you haven’t actually asked.”

I smiled,
thinking I would’ve gotten around to it eventually. “I’m still glad you told me.”

“As for the
other: I have no words for how amazing it was, and I love that I was your first
like that. Especially since it was my first time, too.”

Holding my
breath, I let it out slowly as his words soaked in. “What?”

He gave me a
goofy smile and kissed me softly. “I’ve used, uh, other things, but I’ve never
wanted to until you.”

I met his eyes
and pleasure overwhelmed me. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

He looked a
little embarrassed. “Because you trusted me to take care of you, and I worried
if I told you it was my first time, then you might not be into it. Male pride,
I guess.”

Hugging him
close, I felt sleepy under the warm water.

“Let’s get
washed up and get some sleep,” he murmured in my hair.

***

I’d always heard
the throes of passion could get you to say things you might either regret or,
in my case, overthink later, but I’d never pictured actually doing it. I
thought about what Brian had meant about being
his
earlier tonight. I
was a grown woman, financially secure, professionally successful, and the
natural inclination was to balk completely at being
owned by anyone
. But
it had been carnal and so alpha in that moment that I’d also been extremely
turned on by it.

We lay there in
my bed, both unwilling to start the day and break the intimacy.

I leaned back,
my fingertips brushing the planes of his face.

“I need to ask
you something,” Brian whispered.

“Okay, go
ahead.” I braced myself, as he seemed serious.

“Could you
promise me that you won’t go back there? Hell Catherine shouldn’t need to go
there either.”

“I can’t promise
that. I think it could be a good thing for her confidence. Not everyone has
been Brianed and can say they’ve experienced great sex.”

“Did you turn my
name into a verb?” His face looked a mix between amused and horrified.

I grinned.
“Every woman needs to have sexual confidence in the bedroom.”

“Agreed, and I’m
not judging Catherine for that. I just don’t like the thought of you two ladies
in that place without some sort of protection. Like I said earlier, I completely
respect that you didn’t want her to go by herself. You’re a loyal friend. I
guess if you need to go back with her, I could go with you. It’ll be safer and
everyone will know you have a boyfriend. We could even go back into a room, if
you wanted.”

The thought of
going back to the club with him made my skin tingle. Then I realized what he’d
said. I propped up on my elbow and looked at him. “Wait, did you call yourself
my boyfriend?”

I expected him
to retract or get embarrassed like he hadn’t meant to, but instead he loomed
over me, pushing me back into the bed. He pinned my hands down in a show of
dominance that made me instantly hot for him.

He grinned. “Damn
right I did. I sang you ‘Ring of Fire’ by Johnny Cash.” His fingers stroked,
finding me wet for him. “And you said you were mine. Did you not mean that last
night?”

His voice was
that husky, gravel tone that did things to a girl. I arched my hips, not
believing that he could make me ache for his touch so quickly.

He removed his
fingers and hovered at my entrance, taking my lips in a deep kiss. “Are you my
girlfriend, muffin?” He pressed ahead one delicious inch.

I smiled,
wanting more. “Only if you promise never to call me that again.”

***

With the art of
sexual distraction, Brian made it very easy to get outside of my head when it
came to the possibility of overthinking the
boyfriend
thing or the fact
that I’d once again confirmed that I was
his
. Our sex-charged morning
turned into eating Chinese food in bed and then enjoying an intimate bath together.

“Where’s your
stuff?” I asked, realizing that, aside from the bag he took from the room last
night full of our new toys, he was sans extra clothing. And he hadn’t in fact
answered the question about why he was in town.

“Josh’s guest
apartment. I’ll spend the night over there this evening, give you some space
before tomorrow’s meeting.” His dirty clothes were in his hand. “You doing a
load of laundry?”

I nodded,
watching him, while only wearing a towel, shove his clothes into my washing
machine located in the closet next to the bedroom. He then climbed back in my
bed and flicked on the television.

“You never told
me why you stayed in town over the weekend.” I threw in a few of my things to
make a load out of it and started the machine. Something about washing our
clothing together and having him casually turn on the TV started to freak me
out.

“If you stop
overthinking the laundry and come over here, I’ll tell you.”

I was annoyed at
the fact that he could pick up on my facial expressions. “I’m not overanalyzing
the damn laundry,” I mumbled, crossing over to the bed, only to be snagged by
the wrist and pulled down into him. “Like we haven’t had enough time in this
bed today?” My breath caught at feeling him hard already pressed against me.

He nuzzled my
neck, choosing to ignore my protest completely. “I warned you it would never be
enough.” He kissed down my throat and over my collarbone, and pulled back,
grinning, when I sighed in pleasure. “I stayed because I was pissed off Friday
and didn’t want to leave it that way for Monday. I kind of hoped you’d call me
Saturday, and we could get together. Then I got your text, and the rest is
history.”

“I spent
Saturday studying up on Vanessa and trying to find ways to start over. Then I
called Catherine, and we met out so I could get some advice.”

He looked
surprised. “Huh.”

I narrowed my
eyes. “What do you mean by
huh
?”

He shrugged and brushed
his fingers down my back, settling on my backside. “Are you sore from last
night?”

Talk about a
change of subject. My face heated, and I tried to pull away, only to have him
keep me caged. “I’m fi—good. And stop trying to change the subject.”

He chuckled.
“Nice save with the word. The
huh
was me being impressed that you’re
trying with Vanessa.”

“You mean
shocked,
don’t you?”

He shook his
head. “No. Impressed that you haven’t let your pride get in the way of what
needs to be done. I know that isn’t easy for you, but I do appreciate the
effort.”

“You had a point
on Friday. I didn’t like it, but per usual your lectures aren’t off-base.”

His face looked
stunned.

“Close your
mouth, Brian, and stop looking so astonished. Although I don’t say it often
enough, you’re a good boss, and you’re great at what you do.”

His expression was
priceless with my compliment, which instantly made me feel like the biggest
bitch in the world.

“I know I’m not
the easiest person to deal with …” I took a deep breath.

He cupped my chin
and kissed me deeply. “Sasha, you do your work, and you do it well—”

I shook him off.
“Stop trying to make me feel better and let me finish.” It was just like him to
try to soothe me and only made me feel worse about the number of times I’d
never bothered to give him positive feedback.

His mouth
twitched in amusement. “Okay, please continue.”

“What I wanted
to say is that I’m sorry for Friday. My pride got in the way, and although I
could say it won’t happen again, I think we both know the best I can do is to
say that I’ll try.”

He threw his
head back and laughed. “Apology accepted, and don’t worry. You’re not as difficult
to manage as you think you are.”

The unsettling
thought hit me later that he might not mean that entirely in a professional
capacity.
