Keece scrunched his face up. “Man, what the fuck I look like? You know I ain't told Paris shit.”

“And Cam ain't heard shit from me,” Kiyan added.

Big shook head. “How the fuck did Aimee find out then?”

“Did she go through your phone?” Kiyan asked.

Big pondered Kiyan’s question. He did leave his phone out when he got in the shower. “She probably did when I was in the shower. But I got a lock on my phone, though.”

Keece snickered. “Nigga, that don’t mean shit. Aimee probably watched you put in your code and kept that shit in her memory bank. Never put shit past a woman.”

“Right ‘cause Cam used to stay breaking into my shit.” Kiyan laughed.

“Damn, man, I just need to talk to her. She wasn’t tryin’ to hear shit when she left my house earlier.”

“I think you should give her some time to cool off,” Keece advised Big.

Big shook his head. “Nah, I ain't tryin’ to hear that. I need to see her. I just don’t know where she’s at.”

“She probably with her sister. Do you know where she lives?” Kiyan asked.

“Nah, but I think Dinero might know. All I know is if she’s with that bitch-ass friend of hers, I'm gon’ murk both of their asses.”

“Man, she’s probably over his house crying on his shoulder and shit. Dude’s probably got his hand on her waist, holding her close,” Kiyan said, taunting Big.

Big cut his eyes over at Kiyan. “Kiy, stop playing with me before I tear this fuckin’ city up,” he warned him.

“My bad, but look, Aimee’s probably hot as fish grease right now. Give her a day to cool off,” Kiyan told him.

Big was still adamant about speaking to Aimee. He felt that giving her time would allow her to make a clear decision about leaving him, and he didn’t want that.

Big shook his head. “Nah I need to see her ‘cause if she thinks that we’re breaking up, she got the game fucked up.”

Keece laughed. “How the fuck you gon’ make her stay with you?”

“Easy. She ain't about to leave me, especially since I ended shit with Toi.”

“Well, do what you gotta do, my nigga. I feel you, personally. I wouldn’t just let my girl walk out on me,” Kiyan said.

Big nodded and sat back in his seat. He pulled out his phone and texted Dinero for Asia’s address. He was hoping that Aimee was there because if she wasn’t, Big was ready to go on a rampage just to find her.

Chapter Twenty-Two

Asia walked into her bedroom and found Dinero texting. She crawled over to him and tried to peek in his phone. Dinero caught on to what she was doing and moved his phone out of her sight.

“Get out of my shit,” he spat.

“Who’re you texting?”

“One of my hoes.”

Asia smacked her lips and threw a pillow at him. “Why are you so disrespectful? Do I flaunt my guys in your face?”

“What guys?” Dinero asked with a raised brow.

“None of your business.”

“So you talk to other niggas?”

Asia plastered a smirk on her face. “Why do you wanna know, Dinero?”

“Because I don’t want you to.”

Asia sat there a little shocked that Dinero had actually said that. She was expecting something slick to come from his mouth. “Why not? You talk to other women, don’t you?”

“Man, those hoes don’t mean shit to me like you do. Look, I like you, Asia, and I don’t like that you're talkin’ to other niggas. Dead that shit, a’ight?”

Um… you are not my man but I’ll pretend like I agreed
,
she told herself. Although Dinero’s demands were outrageous, Asia became turned on at the same time. “So if I cut  my guys off, does that mean you're going to cut off your hoes?”

Dinero opened his mouth to speak, but he was interrupted by the doorbell. “Saved by the bell,” he said and walked out of the room.

Asia followed after him, wondering who was ringing her damn doorbell. Dinero unlocked and opened the door. Big walked in and gave Dinero a handshake.

“Um, what is your cheating ass doing here?” Asia asked, not feeling that Big was in her house.

Big waved his hand. “Man, gone somewhere. Where Aimee at? I know she’s here.”

“Yep, she’s right in that room over there,” Dinero said as he pointed.

Asia smacked her lips and hit Dinero on his arm. “How the hell do you know she wants to be bothered with him? Big mouth ass,” Asia ranted.

“Girl, if you don’t shut your egg foo yung-eating ass up. Stay out of their business,” he quipped.

“I don’t eat no fucking egg foo yung, stupid ass.”

Big walked off and left them to argue. He stood in front of the closed door and opened it gently. He didn’t know what to expect when he walked inside. The lights were off, but there was some light streaming from Aimee’s phone. Big turned on the light and walked over to Aimee who was giving him a mean scowl.

“Bye Big,” Aimee said as she rolled over.

Big sat on the edge of the bed, wondering what he could possibly say to Aimee. He didn’t know if he should apologize or lie about his infidelity. He chose to start off by apologizing.

“Aimee, I fucked up, and I'm sorry.”

“Yeah, I know and I ain't fucking with you anymore.”

Big twisted his face, not liking her words. “So you're just gonna leave after I fuck up one time? What kind of shit is that?”

Aimee sat up and glared at Big. “Yeah, that’s right! You only get one time to fuck up with me! Don’t come in here talking like you weren’t fucking another woman! You did this shit and not me!”

“Aye, calm your ass down,” he warned.

“No! Fuck you. I'm sitting here being loyal to you when you're sticking your dick in another woman. I'm not dealing with that.”

“You don’t have to deal with it anymore. I ended everything with her today.”

“How convenient? And how long were you fucking her?”

Fuck!
Big didn’t want to reveal how long he’d been dealing with Toi. He knew it would hurt Aimee to know that he’d been fucking Toi before they even got together.

“Only for a little while.”

“What's a little while?”

Big shrugged. “A couple months,” he lied.

“You ain't shit. Just leave, Big please.”

Big sighed. “Listen, how long do you need your space?”

“What?”

“How much time do you need away from me? I'm willing to give you some space, but we’re not breaking up, so you can get that shit out of your head.”

Aimee hopped out of the bed and stood in Big’s face. She couldn’t believe he had just told her that they weren’t breaking up. “Are you serious, Dakaden? How the fuck do you cheat on me and then tell me we’re not breaking up? You don’t get a say-so in that!”

“Listen, we’ve invested too much time into this relationship to just give it all up. I fucked up and I take full responsibility, but I'm not about to watch you move on with another nigga. That shit is not happening.”

Aimee stood there stunned by his attitude. He had put her in the position to leave him in the first place. “I don’t feel like dealing with you. Get your ass out of my sister’s house,” she said and got back in the bed.

Big nodded. “A’ight, I'm out, but I’ll be back. Don’t think you're about to be walking around this bitch like you single ‘cause you’re not.”

Aimee put her two fingers in the air without saying a word. Talking with Big had given her a headache. She heard the door close and looked up to see that Big was gone.
Thank God.
Aimee was exhausted and seeing Big had done nothing to help. Five minutes later, Aimee felt her phone vibrate. She saw that it was a text from Big telling her he loved her. Aimee scoffed and erased the message. She put her phone on silent and attempted to go back to sleep.

Three weeks later

“In the case of DeMao versus Cook, I rule in favor of the plaintiff. Both parties will share equal custody of the child. The child will reside in the placement of the mother. Every Thursday evening the child will be picked up by the father and will return to the mother on Sunday evening. As for child support I rule that the father pay seven hundred dollars a month—”

“What?” Tara shrieked, interrupting the judge.

Big smirked as he watched Tara’s lawyer try to calm her down. He couldn’t believe he had an actual court order and would get guaranteed days with Zaria. Even though the process had been lengthy, it was well worth it.

“Counselor, I advise you to calm your client down before I find her in contempt of court,” the judge spoke sternly.

Tara’s lawyer continued to try and talk to her, but she was livid. She didn’t want to share custody with Big and the fact that her child support had gone down drastically had Tara ready to tear up the courtroom.

After the judge finished his ruling and court was adjourned, Big walked out with his lawyer. Tara hurried and caught up with him, and grabbed his arm aggressively.

“What the fuck am I supposed to do with seven hundred fucking dollars?”

Big shrugged. “I don’t know. Maybe get a job. When I was dropping two stacks on your ass, you didn’t know how to act, so you figure that shit out.”

“Bitch, seven hundred is not enough to cover my fucking bills,” she snapped with spittle coming out of her mouth.

“Ma’am, that money is not for your bills. It’s to cover the expenses of the child,” Big’s lawyer told Tara.

“Fuck you!” she shot and then looked at Big. “You ain't shit! You know that? Big, you make a lot of fucking money, and you got the nerve to wanna pay me seven hundred a month.”

“You can’t argue with the judge, baby,” Big said, taunting her.

“You mothafucka!” Tara swung off on Big, but missed.

Her lawyer held her back as she continued to yell obscenities. Big shook his head as he watched Tara act a fool. She was uncouth and unruly. Tara didn’t know how to act no matter the place. Big didn’t know what he’d ever seen in her.

“Aye, just have Zaria ready on Thursday,” Big said and walked away.

“This ain't over, bitch! You're gonna get yours! I promise you that!” Tara shouted as an officer came over and tried to restrain her.

Big laughed and walked out of the courthouse. He was hoping that Tara did get arrested for her embarrassing behavior.

Big got inside of his car and pulled out his phone. He started to call Aimee but forgot that she was still upset with him. He was holding true to his word and giving her some space. He hadn't spoken to Aimee since he saw her at Asia’s house. He missed everything about her and was praying that she would forgive him soon. Big didn’t know if he could go another week with seeing her.

Big decided to call his father and update him on the case. He dialed his number, and after two rings Dom answered.

“What's up, Big?”

“What's goin’ on, Pops?”

“Shit, trying to get this apartment building together for these tenants. How was court?”

“I won my case,” Big said happily.

“For real? I bet Tara was mad as hell.” Dom chuckled.

“She clowned so fucking bad that the officer had to restrain her ass. That bitch is crazy.”

“Well, I'm glad you have your days with Zaria now. She needs to be around us more anyway. But I heard your ass got into some trouble. What's up with that?” Dom asked, referring to Aimee.

Big chuckled before speaking. “Man, Pops I got caught up.”

Dom belted a hearty laugh, which made Big laugh as well.

“Pops, that shit ain't funny. I'm over here sick without my girl.”

“That shit is hilarious, especially how you got caught up. You know Kiyan called me and told me everything. But on the real, are just you gonna let Aimee go like that?” Dom asked.

“No. I'm just giving her a li’l space right now.”

“A’ight, I'm just asking. You can’t let a good girl like Aimee get away. Trust me. I know the feeling of letting a good one get away.”

Big sighed. “Yeah, I hear you, Pops.”

“Aye, let me get off this phone. Hit me up if you need me.”

“A’ight Pops.”

Big hung up his phone and started up his engine. He let his father’s words sink in as he drove off. Aimee was one of the good ones, and he wouldn’t dare let her walk out of his life. Big was willing to do anything to get back in her good graces. She was the only one he desired at this point in his life. Big still wanted to give her a little more time to herself so she could have a clear mind when he begged for her forgiveness.

Aimee sat in the passenger’s side of Asia’s car as they drove to their father’s house. The twins hadn't heard much from Russell and decided to pop up at his house. The last three weeks for Aimee had been a drag. She’d missed Big so much that was tempted to call him. Aimee had been through heartbreak before, but the pain was nowhere near as great as this one. Her appetite had decreased, and her sleeping pattern had become irregular. In one moment Aimee hated Big, but then in an instant, she was missing him something awful. Asia tried to get her out of funk, but it was of no use.

Asia pulled up in front of the house and Aimee noticed that her mother’s car was parked in the driveway. Before she’d passed, Russell had purchased a Corvette for Jovelyn’s birthday. It had been a dream car of hers since she was younger. She only drove it on special occasions and kept it parked in the garage. Aimee’s anger surface when she saw who the person was that was getting out of the car.

“Who the fuck is that getting out of Mom’s car?” Asia questioned, ready to go off.

“I don’t know, but I'm about to find out,” Aimee spat as she got out of the car.

The twins hurried and stormed over to the woman who was walking toward the front door. She turned around with a surprised look on her face.

“Why the hell you driving my mama car?” Aimee grilled her.

“Um, your father told me that it was okay to drive it,” the woman responded a little scared by their aggression.

Asia smacked her lips. “I don’t know why he told you that shit. It’s not your car.”

The trio was interrupted by their father who was opening the front door. Russell had heard the commotion from inside the house. He walked over to them with a perplexed look on his face.

“Why are y’all out here yelling?” he asked.

“Dad, who is she and why did you tell her that it was okay to drive Mom’s car?” Asia asked.

“This is my girlfriend, Karen, and the car was sitting there collecting dust. I don’t see the problem with her driving it.”

“Well, I do since she didn’t buy it. And why was she going inside? I thought you were going to sell the house,” Aimee said.

Russell placed a calm look on his face and said, “I've decided to keep it, and Karen is going to move in.”

“Move in?” Asia yelled.

“She's not moving into
this
house. Dad, that’s just disrespectful to move someone into the home that was once my mother’s,” Aimee barked.

“I've already made my decision,” Russell said flatly.

“Can I say something?” Karen asked timidly.

“No. This is
family
business, bitch!” Asia yelled in her face.

Russell hurried and got into Asia’s face. “Don’t disrespect her anymore. She hasn’t done shit to either one of you!”

“You know what, Dad? You disgust me. You're just gonna move this lady in like this wasn’t the house that you used to share with your deceased wife?” Aimee asked.
