As I grip the handlebars and twist the throttle, I say a silent prayer that I’m not too late. She has to be okay. My brothers are riding behind me, Pres agreed to let me take the lead, not him, given the circumstances. He headed back to the clubhouse with a few brothers, while Twisted, Torch, Wrench, Brick and I all went after Lucy. There is no way to confirm that they took her but I know in my gut that they did. I push my bike to its limits needing to get there as fast as possible. I know the other guys are struggling to keep up with me, especially Wrench and Brick because they took the truck. We thought that would be safe in case for some reason I can’t put Lucy on the back of my bike.

Once we get about five miles out, we slow down and start to coast toward the compound. As it comes into view, my blood runs cold. She is in there against her will.

I’m coming, Luce.

I don’t know how these assholes got her and Danny but I am going to make them fucking pay for it. I decide to start at what I assume is her father’s house, she’s talked about it enough that I’m confident I can pick it out, knowing that if she isn’t there, someone will know where I can find her.

We gather outside of the house each of my brothers looking at me, ready for me to lead them into battle. Many people look at our club as a monstrosity, a group of criminals. This is what it’s about. Family. Brothers willing to lay down their lives to save one of their own.

“I’m gonna go in first. Follow me and watch my back. Listen for my direction as we work our way through the house. From what Lucy used to tell me, everyone will most likely be asleep. Kids in two rooms, boys and girls, wives in multiple rooms all upstairs. The asshole will have his own room with whatever wife he chose for the night.” They all nod.

We silently take a few steps toward the house, I hold up a hand as I see movement to my left. I hear a voice I recognize. “Uncle Simon’s gonna give me a crack at her tomorrow.” He laughs and anger burns through me. It’s her fuck face brother. I’ll never forget his face, me and the boys paid him a visit after he approached Lucy that day. I’ll kill him before he can have another thought of touching her. He is standing about fifteen feet in front of us with another boy. Their backs are to us. I look at Twisted and with one glance, he is on the same page as me.

I move quickly pouncing on him. Knocking him to the ground and forcing my gun against his temple. “Say one word, you fucking pussy, and I’ll end your shit right the fuck now.” I look over at Twisted and he has the other boy in the same position. He nods at me, letting me know he has everything under control. “Where is Lucy?”

It takes a minute for him to recognize me in the darkness and without my cut on. The shit head laughs. “Where she belongs, finally getting the treatment that’s been coming to her.” I crack him in the nose with the butt of my gun relishing in the sound of bones cracking.

My hand tightens around his throat. “I suggest you fucking answer me this time, or I’ll put a bullet in your skull and get the answer from your boy who just pissed his pants.” I growl out, my patience thinning.

“Shit! I think you broke my nose! She’s in Uncle Simon’s house. You might as well just leave her. Last time I saw her she was as good as dead.” My heart stops. No. “Serves the bitch right.” I pull the trigger shooting the asshole in the head, the silencer ensuring we don’t wake anyone sleeping in the houses around us.

Pres, is gonna give me shit for that.

I stand up walking over to the boy Twisted has pinned. Cocking my gun and pointing it at him, he starts to cry like a little bitch. “Which one is Simon’s house?”

His sobs slow. “The on-one right th-there.” He shakily points to a house about two plots away from us.

“Knock him out, so he can’t warn anyone.” Twisted gives the kid a swift punch and he takes a little nap.

“Whip, you gotta keep your cool.” Torch is next to me.

“I’m fine. I gotta get to her now.” We walk toward the house. The back door is unlocked. As we enter, it’s eerily quiet. I don’t even know where to begin looking for her. We walk through the kitchen that’s when I hear footsteps. Someone is coming down the stairs. I raise a hand to signal them to stop moving. A girl no younger than Lucy was when she came to me, passes. I clamp a hand over her mouth and drag her into the kitchen.

“Tell me where Lucy is.”

She sneers at me, hate present in her eyes. I remove my hand so that she can respond. “I don’t know who you’re talking about.”

She’s lying. It’s obvious. Her stalling is pissing me off because I need to get to Lucy. My hand grips her neck as I lift my gun to her face. “
Listen to me, you little bitch, you will tell me where my girl is right now or I’ll blow a hole through your fucking head where you stand. And if you think that your husband or one of the other many sluts that he keeps in this house will stop me, you're dead fucking wrong because they'll be fucking next.”

Her eyes grow wide. “Basement.”

“Where?” I bark out at her.

She motions toward a door to my left with her head.

“Brick, stay with her. We can’t have her getting reinforcements.” He nods taking my place by her side.

“Wrench, watch the steps we don’t need any surprises.”

“Got it.” He walks back the way we came.

“Torch, go outside and guard the perimeter make sure no one else comes in this house.” He nods before heading out through the back door.

“Come on.” I say to Twisted as I move toward the basement steps. I try to feel for a light switch, when I turn it on nothing happens. “Fuck. We are going in blind, brother.” The burner phones aren’t the nicest so they don’t have any flashlights. My heart pounds as I take each step down. I pause at the bottom letting my eyes adjust to the darkness. No matter how long I stand here this shit is not getting any clearer, from what I can tell it’s a basic basement with cement walls and floors. There doesn’t seem to be much around us either. The stench of piss is so strong and I’m forcing myself not to gag from it.

I take one careful step forward sliding my foot instead of lifting it trying to feel my way around. A string hits my face and I reach up to pull on it. A dim light sheds a small amount of light on the room. I quickly scan it looking for anyone who may be a threat but I come up empty.

That’s when my eyes focus on something lying on the floor in the corner. My entire body freezes at the sight in front of me. I hear Twisted curse behind me.
Lucy.

I run toward her, but once I reach her I can’t move. My body is frozen looking at what those animals did to her. She’s completely naked, blood dripping down almost every inch of her. Her body is bent in such an unnatural way I’m scared that they may have actually killed her.

I kneel down the smell of burning flesh invading my nostrils. What the fuck. I see her body shiver just for a second and a part of me relaxes knowing that she isn’t gone. The anger I had in me before has grown to more than I ever thought humanly possible.

“Her hands are cuffed to this beam. We need something to cut them.” I look back at Twisted.

“No, finding something will take too long.” I stand straight up, delivering a few swift kicks to the wood before it splinters. “We need to get her out of here now.” I take my shirt off and slip it over her head. She doesn’t wake up, but groans a bit as I try to fit it over her body. As we walk up the steps, I have Twisted text the brothers at the clubhouse and make sure Doc is there and ready, and that they have something to take these damn handcuffs off with.

We walk back into the kitchen, Brick is standing with the girl we found still. “Make sure she knows to keep her fucking mouth shut. Send her upstairs then you, Wrench and Torch need to round up the bastard uncle and father. Twisted will be back with the truck to get you and we are gonna make these bastards pay.” The entire time I speak to him, his eyes are focused on Lucy. Her battered face and body is shocking and I can see the fire ignite in my brother’s eyes even more than before.

“I got you.” His voice hard, as he takes the girl by the arm and walks her further into the house.

I follow Twisted outside as he is finishing giving the same instructions to Torch. He, like Brick, can’t take his eyes off Lucy once I walk outside—her face is almost unrecognizable, swelling and bruising covering ninety percent of it. I dread finding out what these sick fuckers did to her when they had her. Holding her closer to me, I make my way to the truck. Climbing into the back, I lay her across the seat her head in my lap.

Twisted starts the truck slowly pulling away from the houses trying to not draw any attention still, since we are not done here. As we drive, I gently rub Lucy’s head trying to give her any possible comfort I can. It hurts to look at her, to know that this happened when I was supposed to be protecting her.

Another groan rolls from her chest and her eyes blink open. “Luce?
Relax, baby, I got you. You’re safe.

A tear falls from her eye as she looks at me but she doesn’t say a word.

“Talk to me, babe.” My hands grasp each side of her face.

She shakes her head.

Confusion is running rampant through me. Why won’t she talk to me? “You’re safe now, Lucy. I swear those asshole are going to fucking pay. They will never touch you again. I just need to hear your voice. I need to know you’re okay.” My thumb rests on her bottom lip pulling at it and she moans and jerks in pain. “What the fuck!”

The truck swerves and I grab onto Lucy. “What the hell, Whip! You can’t fucking scream shit like that!” Twisted shouts at me.

I take a closer look at her mouth, and that’s when I see how tightly closed her lips are. “Lucy, can you open your mouth?” She shakes her head no.

“What’s going on back there?”

I look at the road and see we are only a few minutes away from the clubhouse. Thank God. “They fucking sealed her mouth shut.”

“Shit.”

A sick feeling rolls through my entire body knowing that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I don’t know that I can take finding out what else happened to her while she was with them.

I pace the common room of the clubhouse as Doc is working on Lucy. I fought him to stay in there until Pres ordered me out. Doc asked Tracie to stay and give him a hand, but he wanted all the boys out of the room.

The brothers had cleared out the kitchen making it so Doc could use the island as a table. Everything was set up by the time we got there. Lucy gripped my hand and it killed me to leave her. If Pres wasn’t the one to send me out, I’d still be in there no matter what anyone said. Sometimes I hate club politics. I should be in there with her.

Twisted walks into the room and heads straight for me. “We found the uncle and her old man. They are in the garage.”

I decide to pay the two bastards a visit, at least it will give me something to do. When I walk into the garage, it’s dimly lit—a few lamps as the only light source. Her uncle and father are tied to poles on separate sides of the garage. It gives me a sick sense of pleasure knowing that we have them here. That they will suffer at our hands the way they made her suffer at theirs. My hands clench with a need to strangle the life out of them right here and now, but that would be too easy of an escape for them.

Her father is slumped to the side, but her uncle is awake. Not only that, but the bastard smiles at me as I walk into the room. This takes me by surprise, he has to know at this point that he is fucked. We are going to kill him, in the worst way possible.

I walk closer to him, Twisted on my heels, no doubt to intervene if needed. He is probably worried I will decide to end the fucker right here and now, before any fun can be had. All of the boys have expressed their interest at wanting a shot at him. “I had a feeling you might come to collect the trash, biker.”

My blood boils. I kick the fucker right in the jaw. “
I'll sleep tonight knowing what I did to you, you'll die tonight for what you did to her.”

I walk away before I lose my shit and rob the boys of their fun. As I close the door, I can hear a sick laugh sounding from behind me. A chill runs through me as I think about the fact that he had my girl at his disposal. I need to be there when Doc gets done. I need to know what he did to her.

It’s been almost two hours and I’m about to tear shit apart. What the fuck could they be doing in there? I finally see Doc come out and I race over toward him. The look on his face has me sick and not wanting the information as much as I need to know it.

“Let’s go sit down.” He walks over to one of the tables in the common room. I sit down with him and the brothers have now gathered around too. They have been as out of their minds as I have. They all saw her when I brought her in, that and the amount of time Doc spent with her tells us that shit ain’t good. “First, let me say that I think Danny should make it. He lost a lot of blood. If he would have been found much later he would have been a goner. It’s lucky you called someone to come check when you did.”

I breathe one sigh of relief knowing that we didn’t lose him. We all keep our eyes trained on Doc. We know that Lucy’s story will not be as easy to hear.

“I don’t even know where to start. That poor girl has been through a special kind of hell.” His hands scrub his face as mine grip the edge of the table. “To start with she has a broken wrist, three broken ribs, and I believe a concussion but without the proper equipment I can’t confirm that. She has a large area of skin missing from her hip, which Tracie informed me, was where her tattoo was once. The cut is deep enough that it will take a long time for the skin to finally reform, when it does, it will no longer have the tattoo on it. On her side under her arm she has a large burn from what I can tell was made by a cattle iron. Her lips had been sealed shut, my best guess is with some sort of super glue. I was able to separate them using a solvent but they are ripped and torn from the strain they incurred while sealed. She is covered in multiple other cuts, some needing stitches, others just bandaged.” He stops talking tears falling from his eyes.

I cover my face with my hands as I shake my head in disbelief. The murmurs from the brothers that surround me are almost deafening.

Doc clears his throat. I look up at him, his old eyes tired and red-rimmed. “That, unfortunately isn’t the worst.” My hands drop to the table the bang echoing through the large room. I know what is coming next. It’s what I’ve been dreading to hear. What I had been praying hadn’t happened. “She was raped. I can’t tell how many times. I can tell you it was brutal, and it was from both entrances. Her body is torn from almost one point to the other. I had to sedate her just to be able to give her stitches. When I went to examine her, she became wild. She tried to swing at Tracie and me. It was as if she didn’t recognize us. Right now she is under heavy sedation and I would advise keeping her that way for a day or so. You need to give her body time to heal itself. Her mind will be an entirely different story.”

He clears his throat. “There is one other thing. It appears that she had been pregnant.”

I stop breathing. My blood runs cold. No.

“She miscarried as I was treating her. I’m so sorry for your loss, Jordan.”

Doc stands up. “I will be back to check on her in the morning. You can move her to a bed. I have showed Tracie how to administer the sedative and given her a time schedule for it.” His hand touches my shoulder. “I am so sorry this happened to her.”

No one speaks. No one moves. It’s like we are all frozen in time. Hearing what happened to her. What that monster did to her. My emotions are all over the place.

Guilt.

Rage.

Sorrow.

Vengeance.

I don’t know how to channel them. I stand up taking the wooden chair I’m sitting on and throw it clear across the room, hearing the sound of it splintering as it hits the wall. I turn to my brothers. “That fucker gets the worst. Give him everything you can think of. You make sure none of that shit kills him. That is reserved for me. I want to look into his eyes and take away his life. I want him to know it came from me.” Their nods of agreement give me no comfort. I walk toward the garage. Not knowing I could be any angrier than the last time I came through this door. Both her father and uncle are awake now.

I walk straight up to her father. “You are a disgrace. You gave your daughter to that monster and let him destroy her. You preach the word of God, but you just served the fucking devil.” I quickly grab my gun out of my holster in my jeans and blow a hole through the asshole’s head.

As I turn and walk over to the bastard still smiling at me, it takes everything I have not to do the same thing to him. That death would be too good for him. He doesn’t deserve that.

“You will suffer for everything you did, you sick fuck. And when my brothers are done with you, I will be the one to end your life.”

I walk away from him before I can’t.
