The Scrapbook

Jordan

Grannie laid out the materials in
front of us: wedding invitation, ceremony program, pictures of the bride and
groom alone, with family, and with the wedding cake. We were ready to prepare
the final pages of the scrapbook. Only this time it would be me and JT doing
the honors as Grannie watched from the sidelines. It was our special day.

I flipped to the last two pages of
the book and handed ribbon and scissors to JT, while I placed the memorabilia
at different angles, trying to decide how best to fit all of it on the pages.

“What do I do?” JT asked as he
fumbled with the scissors. “How long do I make this? I don’t want to mess it up.
Fourteen years of love and devotion and I’m going to ruin the last two pages of
your scrapbook. You sure you want me doing this?”

I giggled and rolled my eyes at
Grannie. “You won’t mess it up JT. It’s two simple cuts, one at four and a half
inches and one at six and a half inches long. And yes, I want you to do this with
me. It was our wedding day.”

It had been Grannie’s idea to recycle
the black satin ribbon trim from the wedding cake to make frames for the
pictures. Such a brilliant idea. JT set the picture at an angle on the page and
glued the ribbon frame down around it. The picture brought a smile to my face.
It was my favorite one of us at the reception. JT had already disposed of the
bow tie and his shirt lay casually open at the neckline. His arms were
stretched out behind the chairs on either side of him with two of his favorite
women, me and Grannie, leaning in close and smiling.

When everything was glued onto the
pages and we had thoroughly reminisced about both the wedding and our amazing
honeymoon, there was just one thing left to do. Write the final letter.

Dear Daddy, Mom Murphy and Dad Murphy,

We officially tied the knot on
Saturday, July 27, 2013 at six o’clock in the evening at the beautiful
Canterbury Castle in Canterbury Village, compliments of Mom and Grannie
Billette. We were delighted everyone made it to the ceremony despite the
extremely short notice. Who knew a wedding and reception could be planned in
two months? Good thing the groom finally came to his senses three weeks before
the wedding! And though you all were not with us in person, we know you were
with us in spirit, carried forever in our hearts. Mom and Grannie walked me
down the aisle. I wasn’t sure we were going to make it with all of the
blubbering going on, but alas, as you can see by my married name, we did! Hope
you don’t mind Daddy, but I asked Jared to do the honors of dancing with me for
the daddy/bride dance and Aunt Mary stepped in for the mother/groom dance. It
was a truly magical evening. A wish come true!

Love,

Mr.
and Mrs. Justin Theodore Murphy

(Wish
Come True Series #2)

Leah Anderson has one dating

Jared Billette has secretly crushed on Leah and acts like a real jerk

and dating your sibling’s best friend is one of them. That is until his sister

are meant to be broken.

Little
White Lies

When attorney Madalyn Russell
dumps her fiancé at the altar, she temporarily escapes the scrutiny of her
friends and family on her honeymoon cruise. Too bad she forgot she is assigned
to dine at the “newlywed” table on the fully booked cruise. Goodbye exquisite
cuisine, hello standard buffet fare. Nothing will tempt her to enter that
lion’s den. Or so she thinks.

When the board of directors
orders devilishly handsome Royce Spencer to seek rest alone on a cruise, he
sets his sights on Madalyn and offers a deliciously indecent proposal to her
dining room dilemma. He’ll pose as her husband in exchange for companionship
during the cruise. Royce is a gifted liar with a great sense of humor that has
everyone at the newlywed table laughing and no one suspecting the truth.

Is the opportunity to enjoy
all the ship has to offer worth the little white lies they'll have to tell?
What is it about Royce that makes Madalyn want to engage in a fling at the age
of thirty for the first time in her life and toss her tightly held beliefs
overboard? The whirlwind love affair catches them both by surprise. Is it possible
that in the midst of all the little white lies, they will each discover their
soul mate? And when Royce is accused of white-collar crime with Madalyn as his
key witness, will Madalyn finally learn that life is not always as black and
white as it seems?
